    I started selling part-time on January 1st, 2024. To date, I have made 18 sales that have equaled $812. I know that's not an earth-shattering amount, but for me, it is all about the learning process. Right now I don’t care how much I make but am more interested in the business process. Keep posting videos and we will be sure to watch. Your the man.

    I'm passionate about decorating. But what I've learned from doing this is that I can remember things I've seen on videos and it pays off when I source . First thing I sold on EBay was a baseball glove. Bought for $5.99 and sold for $299.99. I was hooked !

    You are always inspiring!!! Disadvantaged: Live in on the west coast, with few antiques and less jewelry; never learned to sell anything. Advantage: I have lots of Grit, won't stop (just need encouragement from other resellers every once in a while)! I can find weird old things anywhere! Learned to buy and sell weird, antiques & vintage plus vintage jewelry.

      Weird is wonderful! The good thing about finding the rare and obscure is that you aren't competing with a thousand other people.

    Example of what you just taught: My solds on Ebay for my expertise items (vintage toys) far outweigh any of the random things I put on because they are “trending”. I must be showing my confidence within those listings.
    Btw you must have an encouragement gene. If Melody doesn’t mind, consider yourself screen hugged. 😂 I would not have restarted listing without your “Go for it. Start now” back in August. I will remain encouraged. Blessings to you both.

    I had the same sofa/ couch in 99, lol ! An advantage to sellers of age , they are more likely to know what anything vintage is or to recognize something that was a fad or a brand or company that is no longer in existence. What i know now compared to when i started selling on eBay 7 months ago has increased ten fold in all areas that encompass reselling, from the seemingly daunting task of shipping ( turn off those US Protectorates , i am fairly sure they are loving the increase is new resellers ! lol , of course i do now have a policy in place , lesson learned ) to sourcing , which will lead a person down the path of expanding their knowledge and sharpening their skills. An easy category for me is tools as ive been hands on repairing and building things all my life but so far the challenge of learning to source in many categories things of demand and value are what's keeping this train rolling ! Once again , great content ! Your a natural born teacher !

    You are awesome! I have been thinking about doing this for quite some time. Thanks to your encouragement, excellent videos and advice I got started just a couple of weeks ago. This is a part time gig for me, but I still want to be successful. So far I have listed 12 items and sold 2. I am starting slow so I don’t have to invest a lot of start up funds. Getting some basic supplies like a shipping scale, shipping supplies, a card table and printer ink has my investment right around $150. Also I want to give myself time to understand my mistakes and recognize the opportunities.
    I was so scared about the shipping. You made it so easy to understand and really did give me the confidence to move forward.
    You have a great heart and caring spirit. I really do feel blessed to have found your channel.
    Happy selling! Peace 😊

    Hey Scott, been watching your videos off and on for a week now. You are very informative, and have a great positive vibe. I stated that before, but nice to say it again lol. I did not see a video in your library on this. I was curious if you can do a multi user access video. I been running my store since 2018. My full time company gave me the greenlight to start their Ebay store. IT started the account and gave me permissions for everything. I even tied a brand new email to it. I can not get my drafts to save on the master account. We tried every angle we can think of, and no luck. Thank you for your time sir.

    A video I can relate to. I know stamps like you know lumber and that's all I sell on eBay. I don't know enough about anything else.
    As I scroll through listings I see many stamps listed by people who obviously know nothing about them. I know immediately by their pricing, descriptions and use/misuse of terminology. When I look at their other items they might have anything from clothes to nutcrackers or nothing at all. Their feedback number is often 0.
    Stick to what you know!

    Hi Scott! I’ve recently jumped into selling on eBay and am confused over the payout amounts deposited in my bank. They don’t match up to the earnings (after all costs) amount when an item is sold. Could you give me an explanation of how it works? Is there a way to talk to an actual person at eBay? Thank you so much for your information!!

    • @TheChaChingKing
      @TheChaChingKing  4 місяці тому

      It can be a little confusing because you are paying the shipping fees from your proceeds and that amount probably doesn't match what you charged. And then, the eBay fees are taken out before your deposit is made. From your Seller Hub, go to the tab marked PAYOUTS. Play around on that page. But, specifically, look at your available funds and you can see a breakdown as to how that was arrived at.

    Hiii, I have a question I can’t figure out.. hoping you can help ❤️ How do you give buyers multiple shipping policy options… ground advantage, priority, express, etc…. I have shipping policies on all of these, but they only let me choose one and I want the buyer to be able to choose what shipping they want… I can’t figure it out… please helpppp lol

    • @TheChaChingKing
      @TheChaChingKing  4 місяці тому +1

      That's probably a good idea for a video. When you create the listing and choose your shipping option, there's an option right below that to ADD a shipping option. This is where you can add other choices for the buyer.

    How does taxes and tax write off work for a eBay business?

    • @TheChaChingKing
      @TheChaChingKing  4 місяці тому

      If you are running eBay as a business, it's a REALLY good advantage to talk to a tax professional. It has been my experience that they practically pay for themselves in saved revenue and time. As someone who isn't qualified to give advice about taxes, I'd recommend you visit @notyourdadscpa here on UA-cam. He is a CPA and he's also familiar with reselling. His advice is terrific.
