Lol...it is what it is.
Our local Goodwill Bins store gets very upset if they see you filming in the store, looks like yours is ok with it, but it's probably a good idea for others to check unless they like getting yelled at. They also don't allow children in the store but I could hear them in the background in your video. It's not that they don't like kids, they just had to many irresponsible parents letting they're kids run wild in the store and dragging toys out onto the floor creating trip hazards. Going to the bins can be fun and lucrative, but make sure you know the rules. Have a Happy and Prosperous 2024 One and All.
Our Goodwill fluctuates depending on management. For a long time, it was great. They didn't tolerate pushing/shoving...etc. Recently, they've allowed some really, really aggressive people. Same goes for cameras. Sometimes yes...sometimes no. I check first and don't feel bad if they so that I can't.
I hope 2024 brings you everything that you could ever hope that it would!

I think Minnesota garage sales are some of the best anywhere. I didn't get to go to them when I was in Duluth this summer. But I'm really hoping I get to next summer.

Typically, no. If they still have the tags attached, we might spot clean something. But if we take the tags off to wash it, we leave them off. Thanks for the kind words!!!

One thing I’m worried about starting reselling on eBay is the legalities. Can you do a video on establishing a business and taxes? I’m not sure if I should register a business or if I don’t have to. Also, writing off expenses and only paying taxes on profit. Can you do a video relating to this or can we chat? Thanks!
I'm genuinely not qualified to give tax advice. "Not Your Dad's CPA" is outstanding.
Whether your ebay is business or personal, you do have to pay taxes on sales. Once you pass $600 in sales, it's automatically reported to the IRS.
We began paying taxes on our long before it was mandated.
Definitely talk to a CPA. They generally save you more than they cost.
You're the first person I have heard say that you want to find really dogged out stuff...would you please expand upon that?
If I found a good, vintage Wrangler pearl snap denim shirt, I could probably sell it for around $30-$35. BUT, if I found the same shirt that had spend its life on the back of a farmer, complete with fading, wear, repairs and more repairs...I'd get $100 or better. There's a lot of interest in genuinely worn vintage clothing. Think about the market for new jeans that looks worn and torn. Now picture someone with money who has the opportunity to get a pair that is genuinely one-of-a-kind with authentic wear. There's a strong market for that stuff.

@@brooken4587 Typically. It does apply to old denim, too. It's hard to beat vintage bell bottoms covered in patches and repairs, too.
What you do about goodwill smell 😆 anyway to get rid of it?
If I wash the clothes, it's gone. If it can't be washed, I spray it with unscented/flavored vodka. Alcohol encapsulates and eliminates the smell.

I enjoyed this video. I've never been to the bins before. The closest one to me is in Dallas and I don't go there often anymore since I took early retirement. I went to a goodwill in waco, in late 2022, off I think 84 but didn't realize until today that they had bins. I've watched other videos about them and just assumed it was leftover stuff from the stores but now I'm confused because you said you didn't want to see their store tags.
I'm curious what determines an item to go to a store vs the bins. Then what happens to the stuff at the bins that are not picked up?
The bins can have stuff that didn't sell at their retail store. They can also have raw stock that hasn't been on a retail floor. Obviously, the less it's been searched, the better.
