I've been listening to this song in various forms this week. I didn't get it back in 1995 when it came out. I didn't understand the background of the song. I lived in Dayton, Ohio, and the peace accords were a big thing. It wasn't until this week, almost 30 years later, that I learned the story behind the song. And, of course, I'm thinking about Ukraine, Palestine, and all these other places. I get the universal appeal of the song now. This version is my current favorite because of everything in it.
