Pochi giorni dopo la morte di mia madre, nel 2005, gli U2 vennero a Milano per il concerto a SSiro. Mi convinsero comunque ad andare. Avevo la morte nel cuore ed ero ad un concerto.. Ricordo come fosse oggi.. a questa canzone non riuscii più a trattenermi e mi sedetti a piangere sui gradoni dello stadio, con la mia ragazza abbracciata e la gente che ci guardava attonita e commossa pur non conoscendoci. In quel momento, non so perché di preciso, realizzai che l'avevo persa per sempre. Una sofferenza che ogni volta che la riascolto mi coglie sempre. È incredibile come alcuni momenti della vita possano mischiarsi con delle canzoni, e come un abbraccio, anche se la vita e le cose cambiano, possa rimanere impresso nella memoria come il gesto più grande che un essere umano possa regalare.
