Bought one for myself and one for my brother. Detecting dang near everyday for a week now.. We both love this Detector. Let us know when the new coils are available. Thanks for the great videos...
Nokta Simplex + stills great machine in 2023. I avoid to buy the new gen Simplex ultra. I will wait to see the new Score instead, but since I also own the Legend, I think Simplex + and Legend are making a great couple.
I appreciate the tips in this video even if I haven't pulled the trigger on this detector yet. Will these tricks work with other detectors the same way? Thanks for a great teaching video!
My pleasure Steve. Thanks for watching. Lifting the coil and heel-toeing it will absolutely work with most DD coils and detectors. The side edge of the coil I am not sure...I just noticed it on the Anfibio and Simplex and have not tested other brands yet.
You certainly know your stuff, what are your thoughts on the stock vs SP24 coil on the simplex when it comes to depth? I love the 24 and use it steadily but am I missing significant depth? I usually search parks in field mode with the 24 with slower swings as field mode gets down a bit deeper anyway.
If you are finding whisper signals at 7-8 inches deep with the SP24...then the stock coil would hit them harder yes. A hidden 9 incher might be possible in that scenario. All areas should be ran over with multiple coil types - if possible.
I have a question, does the Fisher Gold Bug-2 Metal Detector good for other then gold? I know it's a high frequency, which means shallow, but finds really small finds. And good for gold, cause Gold is a low conductor so the higher the Fequ the better the read, my question is can I use it from coin to relic as well etc.?
The GB2 ios not much good for anything other than small gold. While a high freq detector is great for relic hunting small bits in iron....I would choose a 61KHZ Gold Kruzer which is much deeper and can hit nickels at 16 inches in air tests. It is also marketed as a jewelry hunter being that it can dual-duty.
@@thehuntergt I'm willing to dig the dig, as we know the depth at which you're hunting, if you're not willing to dig it, then shallower detectors are better. I will look into it. From what I read, you are really liking the Gold Kruzer. And that's a good thing for my young buck experience to know.
Carbon rods are priced $33.96 and should be in stock soon...I do not have the insert in stock as of right now. Perhaps with the lower rod shipment they will send more.
Will it out perform the AT Pro? I just purchased the Equinox 600 3 weeks ago and so far I love, It came with 2 coils and I got the wireless headphones all under 600.00, I also included the Detect-Ed shaft, I have retired my AT Pro as a back up but now thinking about the Simplex, so if it will out perform the AT Pro I might be in the market for one.
I think it does everything the AT Pro does plus a bit more. Definitely more ergonomic and a better display. I prefer the audio on it way more than the Pro. To each their own of course...the next guy might hate it.
I honestly forsee future generations of detectors many years from now will have some sort of added feature that works on the similar pinciple of sonogram technology. In other words, you locate a target the conventional way by tones and VDI numbers then press a button and the machine will display an image on the screen of an actual target. A pulltab will have the shape of a pulltab, a coin will show the shape of a coin, a relic would show its unique shape - etc.etc. that kind of technology may be 10 to 20+ years in the future but there will be a manufacturer that will be able to employ this kind of technology as electronics get smaller and smaller and are able to perform more sophisticated tasks that are out of reach at present time. If we could look 50 years into the future of detector technology we would undoubtedly be blown away by what those machines can do. 50 years ago no one would have believed what we have today
I have only been able to test mine but I noticed at 13:26 area you are testing the quarter and it shows that it is down 4 arrows but it is on the surface? Is that something that will always read wrong and just use it as a guide?
Hunter gt is it more sensitive than my tesero compadre? After owning my compadre for 3 weeks and hunting a few times dug a silver and turquoise ring at a sand tot lot.
Maybe....I've never tested a Compadre so can't say how small it will hit. I know the Simplex is for sure deeper, and with the new smaller coils - sensitivity and trash work is greatly improved. It won't beat a Tesoro on a nail board however.
Battery powered drill with a 10 inch by 1/2 inch bit .I don’t know why you wouldn’t try it I’m telling you it works we use it for fences I also use a battery reciprocating saw saws all cuts right through the roots and you can get An off brand for 30 but your call
Even then, my soil is so mineralized that past 5 inches is either silence or broken signal madness. Even the Nox struggles in this soil. I'd never sell a detector and the companies would not be keen on sending me product for review.
Yes I have a WHP version. I like them plenty...same ones that come with the Anfibio and Kruzer. They sound good and fit well. Perhaps a little more extension on the band would be nice.
LOL like a horror flick with that shovel.🔪.. seriously though great vid. It's like every other detector in the respect of the more you use it the better you will learn to detect with it. thanks!
Great videa. I have the simplex and love it but I'm having a lot of trouble with it being real chattery I've tried ground balance and it doesn't seem to help. Any ideas on what to try?
@@germann1809 I was making sure you were not in the UK where they had the original coil issues. Try updating to 2.68 and do a factory reset to see if that helps. Also, try a different location to make sure it was not a bad EMI issue of some sort. It will chat at full sensitivity...but should not be terrible.
Great tips. These will save me digging a lot of crap. Where I live you cannot put a shovel in the ground without a battle even then you come up with rocks the size of softballs. Hard for any detector to scan through that kind of ground. :(
Ground like this stops most detectors at the 5-6 inch range. Even the mighty Nox has issues penetrating it. Gold Kruzer so far penetrates the best. Like the minerals are not even there.
My personal opinion...I would take it over the AT Pro and Max both. There is not a single thing I can think of that they can do better than the Simplex.
Hi. I appreciate your video. I am totally ignorant in this Hobby. Is there any machine that can do a good job finding both gold nuggets and gold jewelry on beach?
Thank you for watching. Being a NoktaMakro fan I would take a look at the Gold Kruzer. It is a 61hkz prospecting machine that hit nickels and rings deep...and also extremely small nuggets.
@@marlonwallace9087 If you seriously want nuggets... especially at the beach (which usually has extremely small gold as far as prospecting goes)...you need a dedicated gold machine. Preferably a high frequency one...or a PI (pulse induction). Gold Kruzer will hit small earring backings (and smaller) no problem. It will hit gold rings no problem. Even at the beach. It handles minerals with ease. Comes with 2 coils and wireless headphones. No...it is not for copper or silver. But will still sound off on it of course.
Hunter, the simplex is salt water beach compatible? If so, 😁! And waterproof to boot. It opens opportunities window widely for the price. American Detector Makers, TAKE NOTES?!
Yes there are many videos and stories of it doing well on the beach. In salt water it will chatter being single freq...but it does perform well at lower sens setting and dryer sand.
Sorry for late reply. A foot down would be a bit of a stretch. Maybe a very large coin in very inert soil....maybe. The ground balance can be fully adjusted.
Maybe my simplex is busted. Had it about 3 weeks and not sure if it was a good choice. All I find is trash. Turn off iron setting, turn down sensitivity a couple levels, get a 90+ reading, dig a 3-8 inch hole, and find a freaking nail, EVERY TIME! So what gives?
It depends on the depth. These tricks and such only work to say 5-6 inches and then depth will not allow such tactics. At depth....most signals will be a snapshot "best guess" of the target which will lower your percentages of guessing correctly. No...I absolutely do not dig all above iron. I hunt parks and schools which are littered with tabs, caps, and bits of this and that. Relic hunting yes...dig all above iron...park hunting no way.
When the firmware is released - all detectors built form then on out have the new firmware. Depends on dealer stock and how long they have had that Simplex.
Good night i am Luciano from Argentina and I will really appreciate if you could give me some advice on how to set the simplex for salt beach, in beach mode it’s full of false signals and in all metal goes better but still getting crazy wish you could help me on this, thanks a lot
It is single-freq - so even in beach mode it will have issues. Try manually ground balancing to 0...and then lowering the sens halfway. In the water itself there will be chatter almost always.
Yes. The Simplex itself has wireless capability. So if you buy the cheaper version without headphones, you can still purchase the wirelss headphones later.
Nokta Makro Simplex+ has "Simply Unrivaled" printed on the front of the box in big red letters. I think that's where people are getting the claim from. The claim is right on the box lol. Unrivaled literally means no competition. It's an absolutely great detector, and may be the best detector at its price point, but people aren't making up the claim. They're just reading.

Carbon rods are priced $33.96 and should be in stock soon...I do not have the insert in stock as of right now. Perhaps with the lower rod shipment they will send more.
I liked the edge tip. I will definitely try that. Thanks! GL & HH Larry
My pleasure...thanks for watching.
well this video convinced me when taxes come in I am wanting one and thank you for the answering about gold good video 😎👍🍺
My pleasure and thanks for watching! I think you will be well happy for the price paid.
Thanks this helps alot as I just got my simplex
My pleasure - thanks for watching.
It is a guess at best with all detectors. No depth meter is great.
Great info, hopefully getting mine next week still waiting on pre order, new sub :)
Thanks for the sub! Best of luck with it for sure. 👍
More videos ! I am French detectorist and you have the best chanel to speak about the Simplex, thanks a lot !
You keep watching and I will keep making them. 👍 Thank you for the kind words!
How long do the battery last ?? And thank you 😊
15 hours roughly
@@thehuntergt thank you I just got my I can’t wait to see what I can found
Very informative video.
Thank you
Happy New Year!
I'm going for a Simplex + 👍
Happy New Year and thanks for watching. Best of luck with it!
Looks like nokta simplex plus is the best waterproof machine for the money
@@jamesklinkhammer7539 I do agree with that. Price to performance wise - nothing stands close.
I love my fisher gold bug pro, cheap but can perform good too.
A very good detector.
Very helpful thanks for posting
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Do you have an online store on the Amazon application?
This helped. I already ordered one before I found out you sold them. Maybe next time.
No worries. Appreciate you watching.
Thanks for an honest review!
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Good video, and congats on being a dealer now....GL&HH
Thanks Alysia!
Did you get the simplex with the wireless headphones? if so how are the wireless headphones that come with the package deal?
Yes I have a WHP version. I like them plenty...same ones that come with the Anfibio and Kruzer. They sound good and fit well. Perhaps a little more extension on the band would be nice.
LOL like a horror flick with that shovel.🔪.. seriously though great vid. It's like every other detector in the respect of the more you use it the better you will learn to detect with it. thanks!
I was going to overlay the Psycho music into it but decided against it. 😃
@@thehuntergt LMAO 😂🤣😂🤣That would have been brilliant,
Great videa. I have the simplex and love it but I'm having a lot of trouble with it being real chattery I've tried ground balance and it doesn't seem to help. Any ideas on what to try?
Sorry to hear you are having trouble. Where do you live and what firmware are you running?
New coil? Are you running 2.68?
@@linr2870 I'm in the Fort Worth area of Texas and I believe I have the new coil. I'm also running v2.67.
@@thehuntergt will do thank you
Go Go Gold Kruzer.
I have found 3 rings at Park, 2 wedding bands (gold) and 1 Silver ring
Very nice - congrats on that.
Is your detector good for finding "gold treasures" deeply buried long time ago, e.g. WW2?
Tank you for the information
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
Very informative.
Thanks!
I'll be going with the Simplex come income tax time. How does this fare compared to my Ace 400?
My personal opinion...I would take it over the AT Pro and Max both. There is not a single thing I can think of that they can do better than the Simplex.
So I just got a land ranger pro . I like it but would you say this outperforms the lrp
Yes for raw performance. The LRP has a better option setup with Vbreak and the notching however.
@@thehuntergt in trashy areas with a lot of iron do you think that the simplex will find more good targets i.e. coins
@@joshuajustice1541 Yes - due to the faster recovery speed. Once the smaller coils arrive it will be even better.
But that would work in the salt water too?
I called the Metal Detector store in Massachusetts and they said that the Gold Kruzer wouldn’t be good for jewelry and other metals.
Yes. They said the Simplex won’t get the gold stuff because it doesn’t have high frequencies. Thank you so much for your answers. Are you at Texas?
Good job on the review 👍
Thank you!
I only have one question how does it compare with a fisher F5 depth and discrimination park and house
Could the Simplex hit a quarter a foot down in good soil? Plus is the ground balance preset or can one manually adjust it?
Sorry for late reply. A foot down would be a bit of a stretch. Maybe a very large coin in very inert soil....maybe. The ground balance can be fully adjusted.
@@thehuntergt I wonder if it would go deeper than my AT Pro?
@@horseman528 I would say it is similar as far as depth in most soils.
Nice video! Also I changed my name, use to be The Equinox Hunter.
I saw the name change but couldn't match it to who changed on my sub list lol...thanks for clarifying.
Well then can I be The Simplex Hunter 🤔🤔🤔👌👌👌😜😜😜
Looking for a good detector for my soon to be 12 year old son. Which would you recommend? This or a Garrett Ace APEX?
would you know if they were buried that they were pull tabs or not ? do you not dig all targets unless they are iron ?
It depends on the depth. These tricks and such only work to say 5-6 inches and then depth will not allow such tactics. At depth....most signals will be a snapshot "best guess" of the target which will lower your percentages of guessing correctly. No...I absolutely do not dig all above iron. I hunt parks and schools which are littered with tabs, caps, and bits of this and that. Relic hunting yes...dig all above iron...park hunting no way.
Love your videos! PLEASE turn the volume down on the detector. It woke my dogs up!
I think your speakers might be too high! :)
I am very new to metal detecting, is this technique of checking coins from bottle caps something that can be used on most detectors?
In theory...it should work on any VLF detector with a DD coil.
Thanks for the response. I’ll have to try that out.
I'm definitely buying one this week, probably today!!!👍👍👍👍
Really a great one for the price.
@@thehuntergt Hunter, I'm SOOOO excited I think I'm gonna cry when it arrives 😭😜😂
@@billiejohoward7443 Well then you won't be able to see the screen. 😁
So I am due to receive mine anytime next week. Question, do they ship them with updated firmware already or will I have to update all of that?
When the firmware is released - all detectors built form then on out have the new firmware. Depends on dealer stock and how long they have had that Simplex.
I have the same grounds here in Texas my friend quick question ,what is your email?
thehuntergt@gmail.com
I’m in Lubbock Texas. Yourself?
Good night i am Luciano from Argentina and I will really appreciate if you could give me some advice on how to set the simplex for salt beach, in beach mode it’s full of false signals and in all metal goes better but still getting crazy wish you could help me on this, thanks a lot
It is single-freq - so even in beach mode it will have issues. Try manually ground balancing to 0...and then lowering the sens halfway. In the water itself there will be chatter almost always.
Great review. Thanks
Thank you.
Can you connect any Wireless headset to the Nokta Simplex?
No...only the green and blue editions from NoktaMakro.
If you buy the detector with the wired headphones, can you later get the wireless ones?
Yes. The Simplex itself has wireless capability. So if you buy the cheaper version without headphones, you can still purchase the wirelss headphones later.
@@thehuntergt I've had my detector about a month now. Should I do the update?
@@ChickiesMom I would yes.
I have a question what about Relic hunting
It is a good relic hunter for the price - especially with the smaller SP24 coil.
How does this stack up to a Pirate Apolonia in terms of an air test?
Thanks.
No clue, I've never tried one. They are hardly known here in the US.
Wow nice cool metal detector nokta makro simflix
