Sorry, but I didn't have time to add comments to this one, but hope you enjoy it anyhow.
Love that greenish yellow/yellowish green color
I love that color too. 💚💜💛
One of my most favorite
So glad you enjoyed it! 🤗🙏💜
OMG! Beautiful! Very special, not landscape, but a marvelous garden of lilies…. I could smell them!
Many thanks 😊
❤
Love this! Inspired to paint and use my gold leaf later today!
Wonderful! Enjoy yourself! 🥰
Really beautiful!
Tusen takk Torill ❤️
Love this - well done again 😊🎨
Thank you so much 😀
Really effective painting. I find it hard to use yellow but yours was just perfect. A good lesson for me v. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! I have the same problem, but I find if I use analogous colors (colors next to each other on the color wheel), yellow is easier to use. 🤗
Gosh. Glorious, Cathy!!! Thank you for sharing your gift!
Thank you so much! Glad you are enjoying the videos! 🥰
💚🧡💙

Good evening Cathy 👋😊 I love the blue 💙 and all the ways you lightened darkened and hid it and how it still shines through stay safe and be careful 🙏 🖌️🎨✍️💌
Thank you Linda. Glad you enjoyed it. The florals just appeared, so I just went with the flow. 💙 Things are quite good in Norway as far as Covid19 goes. Only a vey few cases here now. 💜👍🏼 Stay safe too! 🙏
@@CathyMevik thank you Cathy I do my best to stay safe as I work for a dentist and live in NYS and some people just don't learn from the mistakes made in NYC earlier this year oh well anyway enjoy your week 🖌️🎨✍️😊💌
I really love this one, Cathy!

Thank you Kerry! I really appreciate your comment! 💜
Love it 😍
Peter V Thank you so much! ❤️👍🏼
Another excellent painting. so lovely to watch your process, like looking inside your mind. Now you need to go bigger. Get the big canvases out, if you can afford, and paint big.
Laurence Socrates Thank you Laurence. I paint big all the time. You can find my work on my website, Instagram and on my Facebook page. ❤️
Hi Cathy. What a great video! Sometimes you have said about getting out of your comfort zone. Well, I would say that by the way you have been painting recently you have definitely travelled a long way from that place. At the early part of this video you placed six good size black shapes on the paper and I thought to myself 'Oh! That's a brave move' not being sure where you were going to go with this one. It has been a pleasure to watch you work through this painting in the video with your usual passion for your art, enjoying every moment, but always maintaining your focus... and also working with quite an unusual colour palette. A great finished result. Thank you very much. Colin. :)
That's exactly why I love my art journal so much Colin. 💙 I get to let go of everything and just do what I want. As soon as I dragged the end of my paint brush through those 6 marks I saw florals and just went with it. T🌸🍃 Thank you so much for your encouraging comments. They keep me going! Hope you are having a wonderful summer.☀ Cathy :)
Love this one! Great use of color, line ,and nice depth. The white you use is that paint or gesso. Please continue sharing your art.
Thank you Vickki. Glad you enjoyed it. The white is gesso. My favorite art supply with out a doubt. Thanks for your comment, they keep me going. Hope you have a wonderful summer day today! 💜☀🌸
Love this!
Thank you so much Pamela. 💜💙💛
Awesome painting my friend ❤️😍😍
Thank you so much Ghihan. 👍💙
This painting is fabulous!!!!! Can you share what type of brushes you used? The paint slides off the brushes with such ease as well as the blending process, I love it.
I use very affordable synthetic brushes that I buy locally. I don't even think they are a brand. ;)
More on line classes please!
I so agree 😊👍
Thank you Pam💜. I am going to try real hard to get one done this fall. I just need time to be on my side! Haha! 🤣
@@lindahigham5317 Thanks Linda. 💙 I'm going to work real hard at it this fall!
Hi Cathy, you’ve inspired me to begin a paint journal. Do you apply gesso to paper? I’ve purchased paper that is for water color & acrylic. Thanks!
Cool! I love it when I am able to inspire. I alwsy use gesso on my paper before painting, no matter what kind of paper I choose. If your paper is heavy you don't have to though. I just use it because I love the texture. Happy creating!
Can you tell us what kind of brush are you using and the size please?
I just use cheap filbert brushes from a local store. No idea what sizes I used in this video. Sorry. 😥
I was quite struck with the colors in that video. It is beautiful. Can you share the color palette that you used. I'm still strugling with the color mixing. Thank you again.
Thank you Louise. Glad you like them. I just added a dash of black to an Ultramarine to make a paynes grey color. I used a greenish yellow and azo yello mediuim. All of them are Amsterdam Acrylics. Hope this helps. 💗

Thank you so much. I'm working on it. Your work is really very beautiful. You have a way with colors that is magic. Work in process.
@@louiselegare5015 That's the only way to go Louise. We are all a work in progress, no matter how far we've come. 💗
love what you do always....i watch you,,so smooth and natural to your brushing and color choices,Give me some advice, please that will help me understand how to get such Fab results.
Kathleen Strode Aawww! Thank you Kathleen! 💛🧡💜 I have a free mini lesson that you can sign up for on my website. I will also be working hard this fall to get an online class up and running.
Hi Cathy, what’s the little white bottle that you use to make the fine white lines - awesome painting 😊🎨
Thanks Wendy. That is a fine line applicator. You can find quite easily. Just do a google search for them. ;)
@@CathyMevik ok. I have them but don't seem as thin. Will give them another go 😊
What journal do you use so hard to find square journals ?
My journals are from kunst-papier.de. The paper is quite thin, but it works well as long as I gesso the pages before I start painting.

Where are you? Are you well? I’m missing your videos.
Hi Frank, I've been on vacation, back now, so there should be a video up this week. ;) Stay safe!
