The ”New” marking in the shops just means that the product is a new addittion to the store. Not always a completely new product
Usually (not always) the product itself has a label "new" to it if it's completely new for the brand.
@@Ghostiification Yup! But when the label is on the price tag or somewhere near the product it’s just a new product to the store
I would say that truffle is fancy but not the chocolate kind. It's the fungus variety that is the fancy truffle.
Right, yeah! That you need special pigs to find 😁
Dave, your Finnish is getting so good so fast! I love your taste tests - though I must confess I got the sock advent calendar from Lidl for myself. The socks are colorful and lovely!
Cat's face of utter disgust is a sight to behold! I just love her, so expressive and she brought us Finns Dave so clearly has an impeccable taste. Cutest couple ever.
I just have to say that Cat's English is amazingly fluent and so witty, one is simply astounded :) You are perfectly tri-lingual!
New here. Does she also speak Swedish?
I actually like the christmas coffee. We are on our second bag already. Then again I'm the kind of person who likes coffee with vanilla, chocolate and caramel flavors. So I can see why some passionate coffee purists might not like that coffee.
Nor even drinking from Moomin mugs!😯
Your Finnish is getting really great Dave!❤️
Marry Christmas !
Hyvää Joulua!
God Jul!
"individually wrapped" :D we all have been waiting for hearing this again! 😁😁😁😁
Merry Christmas!
Yeeehaw Christmas let's gooo! It was only today I was thinking about your seasonal taste tests! Paulig Christmas coffee is a meme 😂😂
Oh no, why was that recommened to me now! Now I want all the Finnish Christmas stuff but it will be all gone again when I'm in Finland again
Where is the taste test tuesday intro? This is a taste test, and it's a tuesday
Haha true! I'll have to take this up with my editor 🤔🤣
they changed recipe for Jaffa keksi while back bit after new flavors was added, its not the same as it was now, there is only one way to eat em also: you put em in hole and crush em into top, this way you get most out of it
I prefer traditional christmas products over season specials. I buy Panda's Juhlapöydän Konvehdit for three of my closest persons on The world. 🥰
Hey dave i think it would be fun if you would also revisit Finnish Christmas songs. Even though i live in Switzerland christmas is not right without Finnish christmas songs. Unfortunately Mummu is no longer with us but our harts still belong to Finnland
"You can do better than that" 😂
For those who thinks fazer-blue is too "strong" there's fazer-red witch has always been my favourite !
I really liked Suklaapiparkakku Marianne from Fazer by the way (especially with coffee with milk and pirkka vanilla ice cream on top 🤭).
Thanks again 😍 i don’t personally like to drink pulla, prefer the chocolate coffee but only one spoon in one full pot.
Have you tried Puffet mint -icecream? Try that sometime in a video I really want to hear yours opinion of it; one of my very favorite icecreams, childhoods maybe-favorite actually. Also the half is very important. We are taught to use even the 0.25 (+) & 0.75 (-) from school so even those are often used in a 10 scales :D
Polka Dumles are my favorite! No tarnishing there!
Content is good 👍
But micro edits (cutting out 0.2-0.5s pieces of video) made the video little bit too restless for the (home/casual) environment.
I think the ten point scale is better than the five point scale, but even that feels inadequate at times, so twenty point scale of ten full points with half points in between is probably the best.
The glass of milk for cleansing the taste buds is so Finnish :D Forget water, milk is the correct way! But to be honest, I ALWAYS have a glass of milk with my chocolate
ayy! More taste testing! Also I hope Leo is doing well :D
He's doing great - thanks for asking 😊
Omg I Knew He Sounded Like Another UA-camr JAZZ
He's An Artist
You should try plum cinnamon quark next christmas, it´s so much better.
Have you tried Fazer mint smelted in hot chocolate, it's so good. And for adults you can leave Fazer out and just add mint Liqueur.
Ooo no we will have to try!
@@davecad Hope there's an taste video of it aswell =)
I'm not sure if I got that exact Christmas coffee one year, but it was so horrible I drank only one cup and threw the rest away.
That Jaffa omena & kaneli was last year too atleast
life hack i learned from somehwere, use scale instead of spoon to measure coffee, you will get it perfect everytime
i also like it "just" altho sometimes i need it bit stronger
never done this but i assume you measure "just" from freshly opened package with spoon, into scale, now you have exact amount you need to use everytime
This year i didn't see the fazer blue with marianne anywhere. do they still make it?
Subtle taste of mint is a minus and heavy taste of mint is a minus.
Harsh 😆
We demand perfection. We just don't know what that is 🤣🤣
I wanted to know the history of the jaffa cake! :D
Moi kannatta opetella suomea HYVÄÄ JOULUA: MERRY CRISTMAS
Hyvä video
Ony Panda Valkosuklaa burns my throat a bit and makes me cough, too bad cause its one of the best chocolates we got 😅
IYKYK
😉
Those apple jaffa cookies are not new! I bought them for christmas for my boyfriend last year 😄
I really want to meet you for some reason :D where in finland do you live? (Asking so i can know how far you are)
Taste Arla Herkku jugurtti and the other one which I can't remember the name of. 😅
Gotta love sassy Dave and "MEGA"-Labeling Cat.
Also yes, Dave did also just ask: Is Allah Finnish?
Haha I realised when editing this that I thought a lot of things we're or weren't MEGA 🤣🤣🤣
@@CatCadwallader Holy macaroni I just realised your name is now like the band, CatCat! How awesome is that, I am kateellinen kuin mikä!
I was hoping for a lesson on biscuits 😭 nooo
I hope they post it as a UA-cam Short 😭
@Cherrybomber ooo yes!!
Hahah Cat made an executive decision to edit it out... I thought I was interesting at least 😂
@@davecad please tell Cat that we can have some biscuit intel as a treat 🥺
I care about you all too much to leave it in!!!🥱😴😂
Ad companies are getting so many great slogans for free watching this.
Hahah... Some not so good 😁
finally, someone who speaks finnish and english and is popular
0:49 GLÖGI
Oh you too. You just want to make candy taste tests "for work". Just an obligation :D Cute couple.
Dark chocolate rules!!! 😁
Second/Toinen
never have I been this early 😍
I must say that Arla products are from Sweden and Denmark originally even when the curd that you did try was made in Sipoo Finland. You could also test Milka chocolates and cookies,i like them more then Karl Fazer.
And Dumle is Swedish as well but it doesn't matter it's all Nordic.
@@davidwittberg683 The original "lollipop" was from sweden in 1945, it came to Finland in 1985. But Fazer Dumle products are now made in Finland.
Finnish Arla products used to be Ingman (I think?). There was Arla-Ingman stuff for a while before they went full Arla. So company is Swedish etc. but products (often) made in Finland.
@@artofstormdancing3319 That's also true, since Arla bought Ingman 2008 But often the products are made in Finland, like if you buy Arla milk in here it is Finnish milk not brought from Sweden.
Arla is to big and not a good company for the farmers ... they sell themselves at climatefriendly but it is a lie.. I avoid Arla and eat Valio haha I live in Sweden and prefer finnish yoghurt
Remember, spagettivuoka is delicious!
Too bad you didn't buy the infamous pineapple chocolate (konvehti). It really divides people 😅
Panda's chocolate blocks my throat burns
We didn't like that Panda Polka-makeislevy. It is not chocolate (it even says "makeislevy" instead of chocolate) so it doesn't have that creamy-chocolate-flavor, and still it doesn't taste minty enough.😅 Hated it.
I was fully expecting 1/5 for the polka chocolate! (That's what I would have given it. I couldn't go beyond just one piece myself. 😣)
Ruby(red) chocolate is a thing btw.
Wait... doesn't Dumle more or less always come with dark chocolate?
Nooo, Fazer Blue is the og coating (in Fazer's Dumle)
I hated that Panda polka one. Too minty
About time for Fazer to make Dumle's with dark chocolate!!!!
They did a really bad mistake 🥴
They have that Dumle Dark. I believe it only comes in these mix-bags 😔 It's my absolut favorite of Dumles. That and the Cranberry flavoured, thats only in shops at Christmas time 😒
Okay, so you didn't need to cut out hte two very boring minutes. Please make a video about what was left out :D
enkelisuklaa on lame? mun ala-aste ass didnt like that :D kyl se ruskeessa pussissa se enkelisuklaa oli paras
Damn it! I should have known better than to watch a video like this hungry. I'm seriously fighting an urge to rush to a shop and buy all sorts of extremely unhealthy stuff...
Best of luck 😁
Dave, you can do better than that! 😂
spruce out of five
No salmiakki? Shame!
i love your bald forehead, dave
First
Tryffeli(chocolate) is not the same a truffle(fungus).
Both are called tryffeli in Finnish and truffle in English though. Fungus came first, and chocolate truffles were named after them because of a similar appearance. Some handmade Belgian chocolate truffles are quite fancy too, but definitely not all of them these days.
When I was in Denmark in the autumn, I saw a lot of Arla products, so it may not be entirely Finnish?
Edit! I Googled it, and what do you know, Arla is based in Aarhus, Denmark.
fi.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arla_Foods
Arla is swedish guess the danish part is based there
