Thanks y'all for helping this video get on Finland's trending list! 🔥🔥🔥
You deserve it :D
You really have to do this video again and do it properly! 😂 The ice cream should be taken out of a freezer (not melty like that) and you should properly see if there is something inside, not just lick a little from the top 😂 It actually tells jättis has a core in the wrapper!
I usually eat the chocolade around the ice cream and then like the ice cream after too! Hyvä video:) en myöskään tykkää pätkiksestä melkein yhtään (if you dont understand, i dont usually like pätkis either)
we need part two where you get to the centre of jättis! 🍦
Jättis has filling inside and you never ate enought to know
What the heck, omar is not white chocolate 😱 it's cream caramel/fudgey thing
And the shape obviously comes from the shape of original Omar sweets. Do your candy homework, Dave!
Yep it is caramel i know coz i am from finland
Well the frosting is done differently because it is icecream so maybe it tasted more like white chocolate.

When you were eating kaktus jättis, I just waited when you find the sauce from the inside but you never did. ☹️
There's a sauce?! DAMN IT
Dave Cad well it’s not a sauce, it’s a toffee flavoured core and it’s the best part of the ice cream👌🏽
Yes i was basicly just mad and really unsatisfied xD
Dave Cad its the best part of that icecream
It is a salty caramel core and it's so amazing because it's really salty and so full of flavor. It's just incredible - best part of the ice cream. You need to try it again ^^
I’m so jealous right now! That Jättis Kaktus is so good!
I’m an American from Texas. I lived there for 4 years. I can’t wait to go back. Finnish candy and Finnish ice cream is the best! Have you tried the Salmiakki ice cream?
By the way I really enjoy your channel! Helps me feel more connected to Finland ❤️🇫🇮Thanks for these videos
Moi. Milloin tulet takaisin suomeen. Olet tehnyt kriittisiä ja positiivisia vid. Mikä hyvä . Suomessakin on paljon opittavaa.Sinun vlogeja on seurannut Iltalehti suomessa.
The new Jättis (unicorn) is sooooo good!
Roy - txt. blog Hakanen Toivottavasti ensi kessään mennessä pääsen Suoumeen! I read those 2 articles in ilta sanomat 😄 oli hauska mulle
Kyllä ! tervetuloa toiseen kotimaahan. Olet hyvä Suomen suurlähettiläs
Roy - txt. blog Hakanen kiitos kovasti!
Noooooooooooo you didnt get to the salty caramel filling with the jättis kaktus!!!!!!!!! Thats the best part, dave you have to buy that icecream again
true
Moi tyypät!!
Finnish ice cream is the best. It is one of the things my wife and I look forward to when we visit Finland. We thought it was funny seeing all of the little ice cream stands at almost every street corner with lines of Finns waiting to order their ice cream.
Great video even tho you missed the heart of jättis...Jam 😁
NOOOOOO! I just went to the store and saw that there's a ton of other flavours... I WILL GET TO THE CORE!
I love Jättis Kaktus ice cream. Especially that salty toffee or whatever core. Felt a need to slap Dave for missing that 😂
Thank god someone said this I was crying internally when he skipped the best salted caramel core EVER 😂😂
Kaktus has salted caramel core wtf, it should be written loudly to the packaging! So gonna buy one tomorrow
I was devastated when Dave didnt eat the whole thing cause the heart of the jättis is always the best part, same with kingis. Dave buy another 1 indeed. You need it and it will get higher number than just puny 3/5...
Omfg Dave you missed the hearts of the jättis ice creams for the love of god!!!
Oooh you were mere millimetres away from the jättis treasure Dave, there be sweet sweet gold in that centre.
Da Capo chocolate bar is not a mixture of different candies, they are originally (or may still be) made from Liquor Fill candies, that did not pass the quality checking. The idea was to reuse the broken sweets while adding some rum in the mixture to smooth out the taste.
You definetly need to try out "3 kaverin jäätelö" and "fazer fabriikki". Both of those have some unique flavors
!!
I like the soft waffle better than the normal one XD
Dave cad, You don't have to guess if we want 2nd part. We want it and we want it now!
I WILL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT.
@@davecad You are blessing to this world. You sir are god-tier being among us
Omar is cream toffee flavour not white chocolat
Mm that is why I could taste a little coffee flavour then I guess.
@@davecad Yeah and the original Omar candy is in fact a toffee sweet, not a chocolate bar :) It has a distinct flavour, so that's probably where you picked up the coffee-like aroma I guess. Also, one of my favourite ice creams! I even prefer it to the actual candy ^^ There's also an Omar munkki which tastes quite different but still super good, you should try that one as well.
Dave The best Part of Jättis kaktus is salty toffee heart in The middle of Ice cream.
Please do another ice cream taste test with some tub ice creams! Definitely get some Kolmen Kaverin Jäätelö, Jymy, also Suomen Jäätelö (spruce flavour as someone suggested, I also love the rhubarb sorbet!). The best Finnish ice creams come in tubs!
I just love these taste tests, can’t think of anything more relaxing to watch! 😅
Da Capo is rum flavored also the Da Capo chocolate bar has little bit of rum flavor
I don't drink rum as is, but I love it with chocolate and ice cream so I think I would probably love Da Capo ice cream.
where was the legendary Classic kermatoffee???
Super Toffee is great as well.
Next time try the ässä mix popsicle, it's the ice cream version of ässä mix candy and it has all the flavors of different ässä mix colours
So did you throw those ice creams away if you still don’t know there’s a core?
I can relate to eating the chocolate first and then the ice cream itself, i always do that haha! I love your videos! Can you do some kind of summer vlog from a cottage or something if that's possible? You did that kind of video last summer and I loved it! By the way your pronounced the names so well! Your finnish has really improved ! 😎
Dave. The kaktus one has A middle thing u left untouched. The best part of the icecream. Im demanding you taste it again!!!!!
Dave!!! Inside the Jättis icecreams there is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ICECREAM a sauce-thingy and it's THE BEST PART!!!
jättis also has jam or whatever u call it inside. You didnt lick enough 😂
@Elitedevil
Wtf you fucking pervert
@Elitedevil i should have seen that coming haha
Damn it...
You need to try Puffet vanilla ice cream sandwich, it's such a classic
Definitely do a part 2!!
Love you taste test videos! And oh boy a whole series!! So much you could try :) A lil idea would be the difference in taste when it comes to strawberries from different countries (similar to the mämmi one where you didn’t know which one was which) 😊
Maybe I'll wait for the price to go down. They're more expensive that gold at the moment!
DAVE!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE taste "Kuusi" flavor ice cream from "Suomen Jäätelö"
I promise you won't regret it
I'll see if I can find it!
this is my absolute favourite ice cream too!
I also fell in love with it last week! If you can't find it anywhere else, there's some at my local cafe Roihuvuoren Rio!
@@davecad It can be found in a 0,5L size and a small portion size. There is also Aura blue cheese ice cream, and it sounds horrific. :D
Kusi flavored.. Hah
Yes indeed we want more ice cream testing videos!! If I could decide you´d test all them! Love your videos :) AND you´re so cute
9:25 It's true! Da Capo candies were originally recycled liquor chocolates that had not passed quality control, with a bit of rum added in to even out the flavor. Apparently the name means something like "from the beginning" in Italian.
My personal favorite ice cream for summer is Solero Exotic, made by Ingman. In the wintertime, it's all about liquorice and salmiak and out-souring the foul weather out of sheer spite.
pätkis is so delicious!! you should try the fazer pätkis biscuits! they are so good especially if you dip it in coffee too!
Oh man I've been waiting for this series
:D
Da capo is my favourite candy of my childhood and still is! That ice-cream version is amazing 😋
Definitely a part two! You should try the 'Kerrossuklaa' ice cream from classic. It is one of the best ice creams in my opinion
Jep ihan parasta👍🏼
Dave.... Da Capo is the best 😍 Loooove them.
The soft waffle is due to the ice cream melting a bit somewhere along the cold-chain, and/or means the ice cream is quite old, since usually recently made ones have almost always crisp waffles
The way you eat chocolate from icecream is correct. You always have to eat the outer layer first!
Jättis IS The Legendary brand! Fan of everything they does.
Totta
Muru eskimo is soooo good! 🙃
I love soft woffle so much more than crunchy dont know why but i just love it
From now on I'm waiting my lick of disappointment... The best figure of speech I've heard in a long time!!
I love omar and pätkis!
I was a little bit of surprised when my dad wanted that unicorn jättis! 😂 He liked it.
Lidl has some great ice creams. Gelatelli brand ice creams and bars from Lidl are delicious. Hope you'll try them!
Also ice cream you can get at the Kaivapuisto kioski is outstanding. The waffle cones are crunchy and ice cream is delicious and you get a lot for your money.
I love how there is a distinct difference between you saying cactus and kaktus even though you say them right after each other.
I hope you do a part 2 of these! You should definitely try Juhlatuutti which is a cone with cloudberry jam and chocolate sprinkles! It's one of my favourites! (And very Finnish with the cloudberry)
I agree. It is my favourite since I was a kid. And that is long time ago.
"I am not trying to eat it like a normal person" dave 2019😂😂
@Finnish Demon trio on viel jossain kaupois
Kirjoita Ingmanille, ehkä ne tuo sen takas?
Dave, please make a part two! I want to try Dave-approved ice creams when I'm visiting Finland
Jättis unicorn is cottoncandy and strawberry flaword icecream
And it has strawberry jam core. I liked it, it was sweeter than normal strawberry icecream 😋
I love the chewy waffle cones. I'm glad when some of them are chewy.
Jättis is like Gianty, or Gianters, Giars - how Cockney you want it :)
It means like 'giant cone'. There are different flavors: this was cactus of course.
The classic is just vanilla with chocolate coating, and strawberry center.
That jättis kaktus is my fave ! ❤️
Ice cream cover technician right here! (not really, these are just obvious things..)
The Jättis kaktus ice cream (and all Jättis ice creams) have the double cover because you take the outer layer off, but leave the inner layer on until you are done with the part with the coating. As you could see by taking both of the covers off completely, the amount of ice cream that is not supported by the cone is almost double to regular ice cream cone. So as you took the cover off, the middle part of the ice cream that was not coated and not protected by the cone, started to melt and the ice cream was in a big risk of falling off the cone. Since most people are used to tear at least some of the cover away before they start eating, they made the inner cover which is pretty nice to eat with and makes it easier for kids too.
And they had the plastic cover to keep the coating in shape and so that it wouldn't break during shipping.
I am still amazed by the Finnish love for ice cream.
Kingis vanilia is the original ice cream that has been inspiring the Pätkis one and the Da Capo one as well. So, I think you should test it out! There is a lot of different flavors to that if vanilla isn't cool enough 😋
I love Amppari and Pingviini kuningatar (new layered ones), but usually I tend to go for Magnum in single ice creams. Finnish packaged ice creams are SSOOOO good, I love Ingman Rocky road, English mint and Valio Fabriikki passion-kookos.
so the icecreams I found I liked a lot from finland:
-Classic Kerrossuklaa
-Pingviini Siitruuna-Laku
-Kingis Sandwich (vanilja)
last one, a personal favourite is a buttermilk icreamcone, which I can't find on the internet but in S-Market XD it's within a black loose packaging instead of the usual tight one, that's all I currently remember XD
You should taste some finnish vegan ice creams, like Valio pingving chocolate. It´s new for this summer. And there was some Valio Aino oat cranberry-caramel flavour too.
You really should try ÄssäMix popsicle and Puffet icecreambar with any flavor you like (chocolate, mint, vanilja, strawberry) 👌
"Every lick is a little lick of disappointment." Cave Dad 2019 😂
Do a part 2! I would have recommended Domino ice cream sandwich, but they're not available anymore unfortunately. They were the best ice cream sandwich I ever had.
I just love to watch these videos because i want to see what other people think about finnish foods and the language. I myself love Fazers chocolates and candies. Try the Fazer Marianne icecream thats good
Noo Dave! You didn't realize it, but inside the Jättis ice cream is like a stick of the same thing as the topping is! That's the best part of the ice cream!
Great video as always, Dave.😊 Btw: my dad and I are going to London tomorow and since you’ve lived in London, do you have any tips for me and my dad?🙂
btw in Germany there used to be an ice lolley called Brauner Bär which is brown bear, fits your bear love
THANK GOD. I felt exactly the same about the Unicorn Icecream. You should definitely test the Pirkka koppis - leppis - murkku - amppari series. Especially murkku (cola) and leppis (salmiakki-strawberry). Leppis is my ultimate favorite. Fazers Ässämix is very good too, can't remember if you already tested that one. :)
Soft cones are the best! So happy they are bringing them back more, at one time all the cones were crispy. And I dislike them coating the insides of the cones with chocolate unless it is a chocolate ice cream.
The chocolate in the bottom is to prevent the melted ice-cream to eat trough the cone.
I also miss the old and very good sun ice ice creams. E.g. the licorice puck, there was a pink too. Their cone ice creams were the best too and some of the recipes still exist. But all my favorites are gone, since they were bought up by ingman or valio can’t remember.
Dave? could u pls continued that finish music reactions? Have band which u really should react Eppu normaali. And also finntroll's häxbryxx with kat
In case no one mentioned it already, but when the cone is soft, the ice cream is not fresh anymore. It has been in a store for a while - fresh one's have crispy cone :) I am very glad you tested the Jättis Unicorn because now, I don't have to try it myself xp
Make these more!!!!
As a Finn, finnish candy & chocolate but Italian ice cream. Though there are some great new boutique brands like 3 kaverin, Peltola, Jymy etc.
Utu from goat milk is amazing.
The new Jättis plastic cap is so useful. In the earlier days it was a plastic wrap and I can't even count how many times young me dropped the whole ice cream part to the ground trying to get the plastic wrapping opened 😐
I'm super glad that not all ice cream cones are coated with chocolate. Yes, it's so good. BUT, I'm allergic to chocolate and it's been such a pain in the ass to get ice cream from the store because almost all cones have the chocolate coating! So annoying! But I get your side too haha
I'm not sure about the thing with Da Capo being just other stuff mixed together, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. That's because I do know thät Pätkis was originally made out of scrap chocolate. The name even comes from that fact. When they cut other chocolates they just put the leftovers into a melting pot, added the mint truffle stuff to mask the taste and made cheap bars out of it. Of course nowdays they don't need to do that, but that's the origin
Eating the chocolate off the outside first IS the correct way to eat ice cream!
Try Classic kermatoffee, Turkish Peber, all ”Super” ice creams (shaped like guitar).
The best Jättis, by far, is the Passion flavored one. Red packaging.
Yes! Try that one 👌🏻🙏❤️
I also eat the chocolate coating first and then slurp the ice cream. :P I love mint flavored anything, so Fazer Marianne Ice cream is one of my favorites.
Please do another, Dave!!
Ooh cool new "taste taste tuesdy" - graphics!
It omar ice Cream is one of My favorite ice Creams! I like it very much because i like butterstotch and white chocolate very much on ice Creams
Jättis used to have a cling film sort of top instead of that plastic cup, but the top was always just absolutely smashed cos it didn't give it any support. So though it does feel a bit extra, the plastic cup keeps it untouched!
I haven't tried any of the ones you just did in this video.
BUT I do love Da-Capo chocolate, so doubt it's as bad as you made it out to be :P
Patkis is another one am sure sits nicely :)
As for the Jattis, usually have the original one "Vanilj" and that one has a Strawberry "jam"-like centre :)
Miss some of the Finnish ice creams... some of the other Finnish products too honestly.
You need yo try the Marianne ice cream. Absolute must taste. Also there are mars, snickers and twix ice cream bars. Also if you find "Kolmen kaverin" ice cream tubs, they are absolute treasures. The blueberry one tastes incredibly good, absolutelutely beautiful.
That kaktus ice cream is pear flavored ice cream with salty caramel Core inside and kaktus flavored hard topping.
I love Jättis Kaktus and Sitruuna, you should taste it aswell. And theres a toffee thing inside them you missed it.
and the soft cone is a thing in finland, keep that in mind
Have you tried mango-meloni ice cream? It was a staple at ice cream kiosks back in the day (still is) but they've now made it into a Pingviini tuutti also. I don't think you can get them separately (or I just haven't looked too hard) but you can get them in the packages where there's like... 8 cones, I think, 4 strawberry and 4 mango-meloni. Definitely not a flavor I've seen anywhere else but in Finland and it's my favorite still, even after having it every time from a kiosk as a kid. :D
You should try Toukarin Jäätelö though I'm not sure if they even sell elsewhere then Pori region. price for the home made sea buckthorn goat milk ice cream was a hefty 6€ per tiny tiny can though.
The soft waffle is my favorite, I prefer it more than the crispy one. About the ice creams in this video, I heard good things about that Jättis Unicorn, but it was.. boring. Won't be buying that again. Jättis Kaktus was really good from what I remember. That lakritsi ice cream in a stick is actually one of my favorites, I'd give it a five out of five. Just ate it not too long ago, and the smell reminds me of those ice cream sauces you can buy from stores. And just maybe two weeks ago I bought something that I remember was called Classic Mudcake Core. Not to my liking, it sounded better than what it was, but maybe you could give that a go and see what you think.
Oh my gosh, that Pätkis ice cream! One of those moments I truly miss Finland. :D
Da capo has or had rum flavour in it its one of my favs
Jättis kaktus had a nice sting to it, like you could expect when eating a cactus. And I munched on one unicorn just the other dayn very nice (and I like the soft cone over a crunchy one).
You have to try the classic kermatoffee. Its. The. BEST
I think triple chocolate classic is the best.
@@shalonen8259 se ki on hullu
I hope you behave like a good finn and eat jäätelöä also in the winter time... I love the geisha ice cone btw, need to get it every time when I am in Finland.
*Core* blimey!
Oh, if you're going to try the tub ice creams, look for Markkina Laku. It's surprisingly addictive. :D
You have to try Classic ice cream, kermatoffee and the others 😍
