I think you could make an entire floor on a museum theme where you could be attack by some painting followed by statues that move if you don't look at them and the boss of that floor would be a person that became immortal by fusing is body with is piece of arts (because the art of an artist make him immortal in the people's minds)
The way the chains look at 8:37 gave me an idea: What if, for one attack, the chains straightened out like that, pulling him in the middle of the arena to perform an attack? I think that would look awesome.
@@LighthoofDryden Maybe he could do a big scream, forcing you to the edge of the arena and then follow it up with spikes coming out of the walls and the floor so you immediately have go back to the middle.
i love that several of his attacks freeze you which will make his boss fight feel slower but scarier in contrast to the others which plays into the idea of pain seeming to extend perceived time
Turns out after going through this cult filled crypt, cilice is just a really nice guy. Just having a nice game of catch with our buddy Samuel..... with a chandelier and a spike pit.... but cilice worships pain so he's just showing love in a different way.
When i saw your game in the video where you could win 10 000 i thought youre game was the best and from then i watched all your dev logs i think the game is looking fantastic and can’t wait to play it. Now one idea stuck with me from the begining a ’vampire’ cause he sold hes soule tho be immortal. And because you really want more bosses and places it might be a cool idea. Also is your game going to be free on steam? And sorry if my English is not very good.
i've been keeping a close eye on this since the competition, and there's only been one suggestion that i keep thinking of with each of these devlogs, and i feel like it's probably something that would probably be done closer to the end anyways, but oh well: More sound effects overall! from little things like maybe the skeleton's throne bones making a slight wooshing noise as they fly, to probably the biggest one that i think could help: Unique sounds for the enemies, so you may have an audio cue to know what's close by before you see them!
Incorporating all of the mechanics of the enemies into the boss is so subtle but so creative, I don't think I've seen it done so consistently and well! This also opens up opportunities for bosses that do not belong in their area by making their attacks drastically different from enemies' attacks 👀
It would be kinda sick if he spawned little chain-cocoons that you had to unravel or something. They could be filled with spiders that would latch onto him like Pikmin and deal damage over time

It’s become my Friday tradition to watch these devlogs all the progress made is so cool. I like that the words on screen use a drop shadow now instead of the black highlight box. Also the red ring for the bosses yell attack might be cooler if it was gold or super bright yellow to fit with the whole religious theme.
For the lineRender, instead of scretching, you could do it with tiles, meaning when it grow it create a new tiles and the number of tiles depend on the scale, meaning you can make them come from the wall, making the chain just grow longer.
You should add a section inspired by Izanami, the goddess of death in Japan. It might add to an interesting Japanese theme with unique enemy variants inspired by her creations in mythology.
I feel like for a new enemy in the chained monastery it could be like a weeping angel monk that doesn’t harm or move while Samuel is watching. However it can either move very fast or have a dash ability that hurls themselves into Samuel, maybe if it comes into contact it petrifies Samuel for a short while.

it is a completely unimportant detail but it would be cool for the hooks to have a hitbox and for them to be dragged through the ground insted of just getting inside it when they are grabbed.
If u want some ideas about bosses or area's i thougt of a ’vampire’, a ’cowboy’, a futuristic boss (don’t know if it Will fit in the game) maybe from horizon 2 there are People who built suits that make them immortal (horizon 2 zeniths) the peaple also built shields and almost forgot death and pain,
Silas new design is so much more memorable! Also: I did notice the chain growing out of the anchors, and it imoroves a lot Really nice improvements as always The interpolation of his cloth works really good, looks way more dynamic this way. Maybe sam and some enemies deserve the same treatment

You could add a randomize timer on the attack behaviour of the enemies, that way they don't all fire at the same time, and might improve the visuals and overall xp. Cheers
I'm so excited to play both of your games. They are a breath of fresh air. When its done, would you be looking into releasing this on other platforms? This game would SLAP on the Switch. I could see myself playing it a LOT on the go. It would look great in my Switch library right next to Hades.
damn my hollow kngiht infested brain! here are all cillusses attacks in hollow kngiht: the floor spikes: radience floor spikes, shriek: pure vessel shriek, chains: pure vessel tentacles, side spikes: radience swords, hooks: umma in uumuu bosssfight in godhome. New idea for a boss and area: Toy area where there are all kinds of evil toys and the boss is going to be a puppet that is getting moved by someone with rope you can choose who moves the puppet or you can make a whole new character i like to see this in the game and. Keep the work up!

The only thing that's bugging me with disinherited is that the backgrounds are kinda bland and generic. I know that it's procedurally generated but it would really be nice to have something that feels more alive (even though it kinda takes place in hell)
Another great progress Video. But I am getting worried for your 100 day target. Must be said! It is possible you are listening too much to suggestions and trying to please everyone (good goal but impossible to achieve). Surely redesign unless the item has tragic bug type failings, can wait until your game is 'completely playable' and stable and close to releasable. Once that's achieved then you can tweak and redesign to your heart's content. Never forget it is difficult for an an artist to accept something is finished; why not try and do a review of what is 'good enough for now' and separate that from what 'hasn't been done yet' THEN finish off what is needed to have a complete game. This is a time for tough choices and some cold hearted discipline; oh and close the book on new suggestions until a 'good enough' version of your game is finished. If you follow this blunt advice, you may yet achieve your target. Even miss out a progress video as it will free up time! Good luck.
Highly sage advice!! I certainly am listening too much, and it certainly is the reason I won’t have as much done on the game as I planned after 100 days. But it’s also been worth it, since the community is what’s gonna bring the game to life And many of the (technically unnecessary) visual tweaks and redesigns are happening so I can get to the point where I can make a trailer that I’m happy with the look of 🥶 That said-the next couple weeks are gonna be a major buckle-down. I gotta get Charles’ area into existence!!
