    I use dextrin yellow I make for a different non food applications. Using it on cotton in a high humidity area has the dextrin absorbing moisture. Argo laundry starch has been suggested but is now $25 and up a pound.
    Might this be an Argo laundry starch replacement?.

      Some ppl prefer being self sufficient, other ppl grow corn themselves and this is just another way to use excess crop, which often gets dried regardless so that it keeps.

    Is corn starch the same thing as corn flour???

    • @joyfulcook
      @joyfulcook  3 роки тому +5

      No it’s not... They are both gotten from corn, but corn flour is gotten from corn kernels directly, ( drying and grinding the corn kernels into powdered form)
      While corn starch is gotten from the process of this video. Like you’re making pap. ( but the corn is not fermented)

    Looks just like the "Argo" corn starch I buy my wife all the time! Having said that,, I don't think it's very expensive,, less than 2 bucks & unless you're in "survival mode",, is it cost efficient vs. the amount of time,, effort & total cost you spend doing all this? I mean "all knowledge" is good to have just in case. I think you simply used those white corn kernels as your only ingredient but you had close to 4 days total combined to get to your finished product. I'm not knocking what you're doing here at all,, just trying to see if it's worth it all with the time expended & initial cost? Yes I know,, it's the beauty & satisfaction of being able to make your own push come to shove. Perhaps that's the entirety of this whole exercise??
