This method worked just fine...after looking at and reading so many how to's yours worked perfectly. Look people this is all you have to do..... 1) log into PS4 #1 with YOUR account IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY (must have PS+MEMBERSHIP) 2) Set PS4 #1 as YOUR primary console. 3) Create or Login your 2nd non PS+MEMBERSHIP profile/user. 4) Logout of PS4 #1 that has the PS+ MEMBERSHIP. 5) If 2nd user/profile is not already logged in DO SO!!! 6) Go to PS4 #2 Log in 2nd user/profile. 7) Make PS4 #2 the primary console for user/profile #2 8) Lastly, PS+MEMBER log into PS4 #2 with YOUR account info. 9) PS4 #1 AND PS4 #2 CAN USE THE SAME GAMES THAT PS+MEMBER HAS ON PS4 #1.
My friend has his as the primary console if he deactivates it will it harm our games and/or his profile or will it stay the same to where we can gameshare without his games being locked
Go on the account where ur game is.Then set that account as primary. Then go into library.Scroll all the way down to find the game.If it has a down arrow you click on the game and press download and go on ur new PS4 account, wait for it to download and play!.If it doesn’t have a down arrow unfortunately you can’t have it on your new PS4 account
PLEASE ANSWER ME I REALLY NEED THIS. SO I DID ALL THIS BUT THE GAME ISNT OUT YET (preorder) and on my PS4 (I have the one without ps+) it says it’s locked. Is this because it’s not out yet or because I did it wrong?
So my brother is in England and I am in germany, when he logs in on my account it doesn't give the option the activate his PlayStation as my primary. Is this expected?
Not sure its to be expected, but thought its worth pointing out that when you game share. Neither your brother or you should be changing which account is Primary on your consoles. Keep your PS4 as your Primary account and his PS4 as his Primary account. Instead, when you want to game share. If you are sharing a game that you bought, your brother logs in as you and you log onto your PS4 as him. Hope that helps.
Can I gameshare with someone from another area? I'm from the US am I able to gameshare with someone from Mexico even if my account is from the US are they able to use my account and play my games?
Is it even possible to be able to log into my brother's ps4 with my account and to redownload a game that I deleted off of my own ps4??? I was having trouble with licensing issues and my game was locked so I deleted it so that I could try and redownload it but now it seems like he was game sharing his account with another friend and I don't have his login info(password)for my console. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated if I'm able to just log into his ps4 so that I can redownload my game. I'd honestly just rebuy the game if I could but I'm super broke atm.
Console A the main console sets as primary will downloads all the games but has to sign in to the other account Console B sign in to main account of console A to play together if that makes sense
It will if you want to play a game online with a friend. However, I can't see any FAQ on Sonys website that confirms that you can not share a game purchased from the PSN store with a friend, when both parties do not have a PSN subscription. If you do try, let us know if it worked.
ok one final question, i used to buy disc rather than digital download through PS store. Can i play downloaded games without internet? i mean career mode not online stuffs.
Yes, I just tested this by disconnecting my PS4 from the Internet and firing up BattleFront 2. The Campaign works but the online stuff is all greyed out. However, you might need to connect the PS4 to the internet from time to time. This is so it can update the Firmware or patch games.
Hi, thanks for sharing this video. I’m planning to take the dive and read the comments section with the issues that may arise. I’m going to be the Main sharing my games and PS Plus with a friend, my main concerns are the following: * You advise us to keep our primary account on our own PS4 to avoid further complications, but I read elsewhere that we have to deactivate our PSN account on our PS4, then have our friend activate our PSN account as the primary PS4 on their console. Am I missing something here? * If we follow the above, does it then not work as vice versa, like our friend has to deactivate their primary account on their PS4, then we would have to activate their account as the primary on our PS4? * You suggested that we create a PSN account on our console for the person we are sharing with, Person A create Person B PSN account on Person A PS4, and vice-versa. Since we each already have our own accounts, can we not send out an invite by adding a “Family Member” to it? By creating a new account, does it not wipe out everything associated with the account we already have, like trophies and friends list? * Will my friend be able to play online with other gamers outside of the person they are gamesharing with? * Do you recommend to keep gamesharing between 2 people? Is there a limit to how many family members/friends can benefit from this? Thanks in advance.
Hi k popper Thats a lot of questions so here goes: * You advise us to keep our primary account on our own PS4 to avoid further complications, but I read elsewhere that we have to deactivate our PSN account on our PS4, then have our friend activate our PSN account as the primary PS4 on their console. Am I missing something here? Answer - I think the Sony’s implementation of GameShare is really intended for Parents so they don’t have to buy two copies of a game. The technique we show in the video for game sharing is based on the concept that family members (ie siblings) are game sharing in the same house. So in theory that family will purchase a single digital copy of a game using the same PSN account on the same console. That single copy is then shared with the other console in the house. As both consoles are in the same house, its very easy to ensure that each player is sitting at a console that has their profile loaded. This in turn ensures that achievements and trophies are properly recorded to the correct players PSN profile. The reason why others talk about activating and deactivating PS4 consoles. Is because they are game sharing with friends who are not under the same roof. So if they were to use the technique shown in the video, each player will be playing out of someone else’s PSN profile. This means that their PSN account is not record their achievement and trophies, but the achievements of someone else. While there is nothing wrong with activating and deactivating consoles and accounts. It does really confuse and muddy a process that can be a little hard to get your head around. Hence, why the video was made in the way it is. I would recommend that only after both you and your friend get game sharing up and running on your consoles. That you then start to fiddle with the whole primary consoles issue. * If we follow the above, does it then not work as vice versa, like our friend has to deactivate their primary account on their PS4, then we would have to activate their account as the primary on our PS4? Answer - If you use the technique in the video, no one activates or deactivates PSN accounts on any console. However, you will be playing a game using your friends PSN profile, while they use yours. Answer - No, just like a Windows 10 computer you can have more than one account (its really a profile) on your PS4. Your PSN account is cloud based so should automatically sync trophies and friends list. As your PSN account is a cloud based account it is actually quite hard to delete a PSN account. In order to delete your PSN account, you actually have to contact Sony and ask them to close the account. * Will my friend be able to play online with other gamers outside of the person they are gamesharing with? Answer - Yes * Do you recommend to keep gamesharing between 2 people? Is there a limit to how many family members/friends can benefit from this? Answer - A single copy of a game can only be shared with two people at a time. Also only one console at a time can log into a PSN account. The more people you try and add to game share, the more complicated you will make things for yourself. For example, “Which games will load if my console is set as the primary for person x”, or “Two friends has logged into their consoles using my PSN account which means I can’t play on my console” or “What happens if my friend gives my PSN account details to someone I don’t know?” Hope these answers help.
A PS account can not be logged onto two PS4's at the same time, so while two individuals can join and play in the same rocket league match, they can not both use the same PS account.
So what im trying to do is i have 1 account that has 2k on it and i have it activated as primary so i can play 2k on my main account but my friend also wants to activate the account that has 2k on it so he can play it too but it wont let him activate it bc its activated for me but it let us do it before and now it wont so to sum it up were trying to gameshare off of 1 account to 2 different ps4s
Hello I have a question me and my friend are trying to gameshare but when he’s in my account he’s not able to The the “activate as my primary account” do you know why?
OK is sounds like you need to first de-activate your console as being your Primary console. Then you should find that your friend can set his console as the Primary console for your account.
GameShare is specifically designed to only allow one console to be activated as your Primary account. This limitation stops you from sharing games with more than a single person.
I just had a little play with two consoles, and found that if in "Create User" I skipped the "creation" or "use a Playstation Network account" option and just creates a local account on the PS4. When I enter Account Management for that newly created local account, the only option available is "Sign In to PlayStation Network". Is that what your friend is seeing?
Ok; I''ve tried to carefully follow what was said here, but I'm not quite sure how this works in my situation, so I hope you can help. I have just purchased a new PS4 (pro)to eventually replace the aging one, which still works. I want to be able to continue to play all of the same (digital) games on both consoles with the existing profiles and accounts on both, but they will not both be logged in at the same time. Should I leave the original console as the primary, or change the new one to the primary, Or does it matter in this case? Can I simply log into the new console under the main original profile/ account and play the same games on it as if I were on the original console and would I have to set it (the new one) as primary? Would I have to log out of the PSN profile on one machine even with one machine off to be able to play under that profile on the other machine? I gues what I'm trying to do here and asking if I can do is essentially one-way game sharing. Also, what about game saves? If I log into the new PS4 under the primary account from the old PS4, will I be able to download the save games from that account (assuming I have them saved to the PSN cloud, which I do.) One last question: In this situation, should I simply transfer my data from old PS4 to my new PS4? Does that cause any problems with being able to play the same games on each system independently? I'm just trying to figure out what the best solution is in this situation. Thanks in Advance for your help.
As a rule, your PSN account will not allow you to be connected to two different PS4 consoles if they are both switched on and connected to the internet. However, as long as only one of your consoles are switched on at a time, you can load/use your PSN profile onto either of your consoles. You can either backup your game saves to your PSN account or copy them to a USB storage device - ua-cam.com/video/BXViwTP4PRo/v-deo.html Then simply transfer your game save data to which ever console needs that data. In order to game share, you have to create a second PSN user account for your old PS4. This new user account needs to be configured on both, you’re old and new consoles. As your Pro will be your primary console when you game share, you need to log into the Pro using the new user account you created on your old PS4. On your old PS4 you need to log in with the PSN account from your PS4 Pro. When buying games from the PSN store. To avoid confusion and potential problems downloading and playing games using game share. Make sure that you only ever buy your games from within one PSN profile. I personally, set the console I most use as my Primary, and then make all online game purchases via my main PSN account and that primary console. Transferring your data from your old PS4 to your new PS4 will not cause problems, but depending on the game, you might need to copy more data than just the game saves. I think this covers all your queries. Have fun with the new PS4 Pro.
Did this and while playing a game the friend who gameshared with me logged into his account (primary ps4 console) and I was logged out immediately (my console was the secondary console) and I had a stable internet connection.
If you are talking about only using one console but creating multiple user accounts. Then yes the games you have installed under your main account, will all work and be accessible from any secondary accounts you have created on your PS4.
I need help. I am gamesharing my games to my 2 friends and im getting games from 1 of my friends and my friends games that he gets from me keps getting locked what do i do. I would like an answer :)
Gameshare only allows for a single copy of a game to be played concurrently on two consoles. If one copy is being used on the primary system and the other on a secondary console. If a third person tries to to play the same game at the same time, one of the three players will be locked out.
Game Share allows someone with a PSN to share games with one other person at a time. The person they are sharing with will be able to play online with the sharer.
@@mydoodads ok I understand thst but I'm saying we both have our own copy of red dead and I have his account on my will me and him be able to play online together even thou I don't have ps plus, I tried it snd it didn't work
@@LONEWOLFM4 I suspect that DRM on your store purchased copy of RDR2 is getting in the way go game share. As the scenario you describe is not something that I have ever tried. I would guess that in order to play RDR2 via Game Share on your console. You need to uninstall your store purchased copy of RDR2, and then install the digital copy from your friends account. That would allow you to game share with him/her online. However, if you want to play RDR2 on your own, using your own profile... Maybe, by inserting your RDR2 disk into your console, it might validate that you have a legal copy of RDR2 and allow you to play the digital copy of the game. Personally I would not take the risk based on a maybe from some random UA-camr.
@@mydoodads yes I have a actual disk copy but no ps plus and so he gave me his account and thought thst would allow me to play online and sadly it doesn't
when I sign into my friend's psn account after making a new profile it displays the theme of a new user. not his themes or trophies or anything. Is that okay or normal before I set him as primary user on my PS4 and disable his account on his PS4 ?
That sounds correct. Unlike the Xbox, which syncs a users profile from console to console, a PSN account does the very basics i.e.games, saved data, captured videos and screenshots, system settings, and other content. As it does not transfer the whole user profile things like themes will be missing. Trophies, I believe can be transferred but your friend needs to sync them with their PSN account. To do this your friend needs to display their trophies. Then press the Options button on their controller. From the menu choose Sync with PlayStation Network. One suggestion, you don't need to "disable" your friends account on their machine, he/she should be able to continue to use his/her account when they are not playing a game that you are sharing with them. Instead you will just be demoting their account to be a secondary account on their PS4. Also I would recommend that if your friend has any game saves, before doing anything on their PS4, make a backup of all their games data. Friendships can be lost if you accidentally lose someones saved games.
Hi there, so we were just starting to do this but seemed like we might have done it wrong. Me and my boyfriend wanted to play games together at the same time. My account was the one that has all the games. Now I wanted to play games with him hence i have him logged into my account and activate his console as the primary console for my account. While on my console now has his account and i marked my console as his primary. However, the digital games were still locked when I go to others username (aka his account) unable to play. So I tried to go into my account (not primary console) just to see and the games were fine to play as long as he didn't log in my account on his side I think. Can you tell me what we did wrong because I cant play the game with his username? Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks in advance.
Hi Natalie Sony did not make the process of game sharing simple, but I think the issue you are having relates to you changing your PS4 from being the Primary console for your PSN account. So lets try and check list what you need to do: 1. On your PS4, your PSN account should be the primary account 2. On your boyfriends PS4, his PSN account needs to be the primary account 3. The games that you have purchased on your PS4 are digital (Game share only works with digital games) 4. You have created a PSN account for your boyfriend on your PS4 5. Your boyfriend has created your PSN account on his PS4 6. You have logged out of your PSN account on your PS4 (Its important that you both log out of your accounts and not simply switch accounts.) 7. Your boyfriend has logged out of his PSN account on his PS4 8. Your boyfriend now logs onto his PS4 using your PSN account details 9. You log into your PS4 using your boyfriends PSN account details 10. Now download the games you want to play together from your PSN account onto your boyfriends PS4 11. Play some games. Hope this helps.
@@mydoodads I really appreciate your quick response to my enquiry. I am not sure but along the way we probably did something wrong with the steps. Basically we did all those steps; however, they were a bit out of order. My boyfriend mistakenly logged me in as guest and had not mark his console as primary under my account but was downloading the game already. (I was not sure if that would be the problem and if it were then what could we do to fix it). Right now, we could only see or play the game if either me or him had my account and activate the console as primary. If not the games would show up as "locked" sign. We tried everything, still not working..we kept trying to the point my boyfriend was worried Sony would ban us for doing so. Another thing I was hoping you could clarify, from your post to me, did you mean in order for us to play game together, he should have my account on his console as primary while I have his account on my console as primary? (Because my boyfriend understood it the other way around, whereas we would still have our consoles as primary for our own accounts). :( Sorry and thanks if you could help me out with this one.
I forgot to mention, that while game share works with most games. Game share is a feature that a developer can enable at their own discretion. So far I have not personally come across a game that can not be used in game share, but I mostly play first person shooters. The good news is that from the sound of your comment I think you are both really close to getting game share to work. I suspect that the sticking point is the whole primary account thing which has muddied the issue. So just to confirm, when it comes to setting up game sharing there should be no need to change the Primary accounts for either consoles. By this I mean, your consoles primary account should be your PSN account. Your boyfriends consoles primary account should be his PSN account. With game share you can only really share a game with one other person. You need to imagine that you have two (concurrent) licenses per a game. When you set a PS4 as your primary console, one of the licenses is assigned to the hardware of that console. As you own the console and the game license, when you create a guest account on your PS4 that guest can play any of the games that you have installed on your console. If you visit your boyfriends house, and create a guest account for yourself on his console. When you log in, with your PSN account, you will be able to download and play any of the games in your Library. This is because you are using your second game license, which is directly linked to your PSN account but not your hardware. So in order to play together. Your boyfriend has it the right way around in that your console needs to be set as your Primary. While his console needs to be set as his Primary. The important part is which accounts you are logging into consoles with. If you are at home, you need to log in to your console using his PSN account. Your boyfriend, will have to log into his PS4 using your PSN account. I think I may have repeated myself a little bit... sorry but hopefully this as clarify things a for you. If you have another go at Game share let us know how you get on. ;)
@@mydoodads I wished I could give you more likes. :))) But yes we were able to work it out. And exactly like you said we could still have our own psn accounts primary on our personal consoles. We were able to get it to work. Basically, I have my account on his ps4, his account was on mine. His ps4 was his primary console for his psn account and my console was primary for my psn account. All I have to do was restoring the licences in order for it to work. Some of the other videos made it really confusing. I really appreciate you are taking the times to help explaining and answering to mine and other viewers questions to the tee. Hope you have a wonderful day. 🙂
I need help so I have account that doesn’t have ps plus anymore but it has ark and I was trying to game share it to another PS4 but it’s stays locked on the other one can anyone help me
Yes, one console has to be the Primary console for the person that owns the digital game, while on the second console, the person that owns the game has to have a user account.
Check if your friend is online when you try and switch accounts. If they are logged in on their console when you try to log in to your console with their account. That would explain why the log in attempt fails. In that instance, you would have to give your friend your account details. This is so that they can play on their console as you while, while you play on your console (with their games) as them.
mydoodads thanks the thing that is weird is that when i switch to his account i have to deactivate and reactivate his account, thats the only way to unlock it.
I think thats where your problem is. As long as the console your friend has, is registered as his primary console. When you log in as him on your console. You should not be setting your console as the primary console for his account. If you set your console as the primary console for your friends account. You are telling the Sony copy protection system that your friend has a new console. This means that when your friend tries to do certain things from his console, he will have to revert his console back to being the Primary console for his account. This in turn will cause problems on your console as any given account is only allowed to set one console as its primary console.
Okay my cousin has a PS4 Which contains games like cod:ww2 - etc.. And I want some of his games and he approves he agrees but I also have a PS4 and I dunno how to tranfer his account's games (His PS4 Games) To my account so plz help
When I have guests come over, and they login to my console, a majority of my games have a padlock icon over them and they are not able to play them. Why is this? They are only able to play the games that they have purchased on their own account that I also have installed.
When the person with the primary ps4 is logged in somewhere else, it locks the games. Unfortunately it’s not like Xbox where all the games are unlocked nomatter if the person is signed in, so I needed to buy 2 copies for each ps4
Hello, is here someone interested in gamesharing on PS4 with me? I have these games digital: God of War, Far Cry 5, Call of Duty WWII, Destiny 2, A Way Out, Monster Hunter World, Horizon Zero Dawn, Shadow of the Colossus, Crash Bandicoot, Uncharted 4, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, GTA V, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Wolfenstein II and some more games. I would like to try: Need for Speed: Payback, Assassin's Creed: Origins, Assassin's Creed: Rogue, FIFA 18 or PES 2018, ARK: Survival Evolved, Persona 5 or offer me something, maybe i can accept it. If u don't have anything I need, I can also gameshare my games cheap for PSN Card/s. :) If someone needs proofs/pictures for every single game I said i have, u can ask me, I'll prove it. Feel free to contact me on: PSN: IllimarK740 KIK: Jason.X92
Hi Aaron, it should work but you need to note that not all games allow game sharing. Game sharing is a feature that a developer can choose not to support.
[PS4]Looking to game share with someone that has AC Origins gold edition. I have the $100 version of destiny 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, DB Xenoverse 1& 2 + all addons, FFXV + season pass and much more.
I am also confused on the licensing part? So if the white PlayStation is the original purchaser of the game then can the black PlayStation user play the game when logged into its own account?
mydoodads I think I missed something because it says “cannot use the content. This content can be used only by the following users, who have a license for it. If you want to use the content , purchase it from the PlayStation store” so I’m lost hahaha
Hi ATMDuRoMax I think the problem relates to logging on with the wrong user account. On the console which you get the error message “cannot use the content. This content can be used only by the following users, who have a license for it. If you want to use the content , purchase it from the PlayStation store” Use your primary account, the primary account is the account that you purchased the game with. Then your Primary console, the console you used to download the game on. Log out as the primary user, and log in with the secondary user account that you created. Hope that helps, because the whole process is confusing until you do it a couple of times.
So recapping: - Login with your credentials from a ps4 account that already owns the games. -install games using that account. -login to any other account on that console to have access to those games. -Rinse and repeat on any console you like.
Almost: - Login with your credentials from a ps4 account that already owns the games. -install games using that account. -stay logged into the PS4 using the PS4 account that already owns the games. -from your primary PS4 (the one used to purchase the games on) login with any other account -play together As you have to give the person you are sharing your games with, your PSN account details, and they would have to give you their details. This method of game sharing is not something you would do with strangers.
Hi Fritosax, Game sharing is completely legal and you will not get banned. However, there are a couple of different options you can choose from. To give you some information on the other share options take a look at this link www.playstation.com/en-gb/explore/ps4/features/share-play/ I would suggest that if you are planning on using the Share technique shown in the video, that you only share with "true" friends i.e. people you completely trust. This is because you will have to share PSN account details.
Gamesharing requires a lot of trust and good communication between you and your friend. So, yes, on your console you will play using your friends profile, while they use yours. This is because the game was purchase on their console, which is why they set that console as their primary console. As they purchased the game, when they use their profile on your console, the game will play. However, because a profile can not be loaded on two consoles at the same time. Your friend has to log into their console with your profile. This allows gamers to share a game with a friend, but ensure that a games is not shared with more than one friend. Hope that helps explain things
Hi Tony, Not necessarily. With Game Sharing as long as your friend has access to your profile, they can download any game that you have purchased, to their console. However, in order to play a game that you purchased they have be logged onto their console with your profile. This means that your friend can any save game progress to his profile. As two consoles using the same profile can't log in to the PSN network at the same time. To get the game you purchased to work for him, your friend might have tried and set his console as the primary for your profile. As your console is no longer the primary for your profile, I think... but I have not tested this so its a theory. When you try and load Madden from your console with your profile. It won't load until you reset your console to be your primary PS4 again.

1) log into PS4 #1 with YOUR account IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY (must have PS+MEMBERSHIP)
2) Set PS4 #1 as YOUR primary console.
7) Make PS4 #2 the primary console for user/profile #2
8) Lastly, PS+MEMBER log into PS4 #2 with YOUR account info.
9) PS4 #1 AND PS4 #2 CAN USE THE SAME GAMES THAT PS+MEMBER HAS ON PS4 #1.

Can i play my friend games offlinely or not?
OK SO AFTER YOU GO ON THE WHITE PS4 AND DOWNLOAD IT DO U SWITCH TO THE ACCOUNT WITHOUT THE PS+ AND PLAY WITH THE PERSON ON THE BLACK PS4
Console A the main console sets as primary will downloads all the games but has to sign in to the other account
Console B sign in to main account of console A to play together if that makes sense
Hello, nice explaination! so does that mean that at least one account must have PSN subscription?
This is so it can update the Firmware or patch games.
thanks! perfect.
Hi, thanks for sharing this video.
I’m planning to take the dive and read the comments section with the issues that may arise. I’m going to be the Main sharing my games and PS Plus with a friend, my main concerns are the following:
* You advise us to keep our primary account on our own PS4 to avoid further complications, but I read elsewhere that we have to deactivate our PSN account on our PS4, then have our friend activate our PSN account as the primary PS4 on their console.
Hi k popper
Thats a lot of questions so here goes:
* You advise us to keep our primary account on our own PS4 to avoid further complications, but I read elsewhere that we have to deactivate our PSN account on our PS4, then have our friend activate our PSN account as the primary PS4 on their console.
Answer - No, just like a Windows 10 computer you can have more than one account (its really a profile) on your PS4. Your PSN account is cloud based so should automatically sync trophies and friends list. As your PSN account is a cloud based account it is actually quite hard to delete a PSN account. In order to delete your PSN account, you actually have to contact Sony and ask them to close the account.
* Will my friend be able to play online with other gamers outside of the person they are gamesharing with?
Answer - Yes
* Do you recommend to keep gamesharing between 2 people? Is there a limit to how many family members/friends can benefit from this?
Answer - A single copy of a game can only be shared with two people at a time. Also only one console at a time can log into a PSN account. The more people you try and add to game share, the more complicated you will make things for yourself. For example, “Which games will load if my console is set as the primary for person x”, or “Two friends has logged into their consoles using my PSN account which means I can’t play on my console” or “What happens if my friend gives my PSN account details to someone I don’t know?”
Hope these answers help.
Thanks for the detailed reply. It did clear up any confusion I had on the issue. Again, thanks for posting the vid.
Could both individuals join the same rocket league match and play together? Using the primary accounts ps plus that is.
A PS account can not be logged onto two PS4's at the same time, so while two individuals can join and play in the same rocket league match, they can not both use the same PS account.
So does that mean I could use the online features of ps plus if my friend has ps plus
Yes
So what im trying to do is i have 1 account that has 2k on it and i have it activated as primary so i can play 2k on my main account but my friend also wants to activate the account that has 2k on it so he can play it too but it wont let him activate it bc its activated for me but it let us do it before and now it wont so to sum it up were trying to gameshare off of 1 account to 2 different ps4s
what if i have the disc and a digital copy of the game doesnt seem to work
How do you do it with disc games
Not sure that you can
Did you found out yet?
Hello I have a question me and my friend are trying to gameshare but when he’s in my account he’s not able to The the “activate as my primary account” do you know why?
OK is sounds like you need to first de-activate your console as being your Primary console. Then you should find that your friend can set his console as the Primary console for your account.
GameShare is specifically designed to only allow one console to be activated as your Primary account. This limitation stops you from sharing games with more than a single person.
mydoodads I have I deactivated it but for some reason when my friend goes into my account he can’t see the “activate as your primary ps4”
I just had a little play with two consoles, and found that if in "Create User" I skipped the "creation" or "use a Playstation Network account" option and just creates a local account on the PS4. When I enter Account Management for that newly created local account, the only option available is "Sign In to PlayStation Network". Is that what your friend is seeing?
i have the same issue. I dont see the activate as primary tab. It i'snt there only on my other account.
his name is"Rod Whelan" on time 1:54 / 4:43
Can you do it with 3 friends?
This video was very helpful
If I log into the new PS4 under the primary account from the old PS4, will I be able to download the save games from that account (assuming I have them saved to the PSN cloud, which I do.)
One last question: In this situation, should I simply transfer my data from old PS4 to my new PS4?
@@mydoodads Cheers, that's helpful.
Did this and while playing a game the friend who gameshared with me logged into his account (primary ps4 console) and I was logged out immediately (my console was the secondary console) and I had a stable internet connection.
Can I gameshare myself I made a secondary account and I would like to have my main accounts games on my secondary account
If you are talking about only using one console but creating multiple user accounts. Then yes the games you have installed under your main account, will all work and be accessible from any secondary accounts you have created on your PS4.
Will my games saves/progress on my first console be affected if I do this?
No, but it's always worth making a backup before you start.
@@mydoodads oh,ok.Im abit worried about that. Now I have to think twice before buying another one, lol.Thx for your help 👍
SO if I don't have ps plus but my friend does and he has my account and I have his on 2 different PS4 we will be able to play online together ?
Keep on making more tutorials man 👍
Hi there, so we were just starting to do this but seemed like we might have done it wrong.
Hi Natalie
Sony did not make the process of game sharing simple, but I think the issue you are having relates to you changing your PS4 from being the Primary console for your PSN account. So lets try and check list what you need to do:
1. On your PS4, your PSN account should be the primary account
2. On your boyfriends PS4, his PSN account needs to be the primary account
3. The games that you have purchased on your PS4 are digital (Game share only works with digital games)
4. You have created a PSN account for your boyfriend on your PS4
5. Your boyfriend has created your PSN account on his PS4
6. You have logged out of your PSN account on your PS4 (Its important that you both log out of your accounts and not simply switch accounts.)
7. Your boyfriend has logged out of his PSN account on his PS4
8. Your boyfriend now logs onto his PS4 using your PSN account details
9. You log into your PS4 using your boyfriends PSN account details
10. Now download the games you want to play together from your PSN account onto your boyfriends PS4

Thx really much I subscribed nice vid
Do you need to do this on both consoles or just the one
Yes, one console has to be the Primary console for the person that owns the digital game, while on the second console, the person that owns the game has to have a user account.
im having a problem when i turn off my ps4 and get back on my friends games(who im share playing with) are locked. do i have to give him my account?
Check if your friend is online when you try and switch accounts. If they are logged in on their console when you try to log in to your console with their account. That would explain why the log in attempt fails.
In that instance, you would have to give your friend your account details. This is so that they can play on their console as you while, while you play on your console (with their games) as them.
mydoodads thanks the thing that is weird is that when i switch to his account i have to deactivate and reactivate his account, thats the only way to unlock it.
So are you making your friends account the primary account on your console?
mydoodads yes
I think thats where your problem is.
As long as the console your friend has, is registered as his primary console. When you log in as him on your console. You should not be setting your console as the primary console for his account.
If you set your console as the primary console for your friends account. You are telling the Sony copy protection system that your friend has a new console.
This means that when your friend tries to do certain things from his console, he will have to revert his console back to being the Primary console for his account.
This in turn will cause problems on your console as any given account is only allowed to set one console as its primary console.
So u have to stay logged into the one that's not your primary or it wont let u play the games ? That makes this whole thing pointless af

When I have guests come over, and they login to my console, a majority of my games have a padlock icon over them and they are not able to play them. Why is this? They are only able to play the games that they have purchased on their own account that I also have installed.
Is your console set as the primary for your PSN account?
When the person with the primary ps4 is logged in somewhere else, it locks the games. Unfortunately it’s not like Xbox where all the games are unlocked nomatter if the person is signed in, so I needed to buy 2 copies for each ps4

So my question is can I do this and both of us play the game at the same time????
I am also confused on the licensing part? So if the white PlayStation is the original purchaser of the game then can the black PlayStation user play the game when logged into its own account?
Yes you can
mydoodads awesome ur the man
mydoodads I think I missed something because it says “cannot use the content. This content can be used only by the following users, who have a license for it. If you want to use the content , purchase it from the PlayStation store” so I’m lost hahaha
Hi ATMDuRoMax
I think the problem relates to logging on with the wrong user account.
On the console which you get the error message “cannot use the content. This content can be used only by the following users, who have a license for it. If you want to use the content , purchase it from the PlayStation store”
Use your primary account, the primary account is the account that you purchased the game with. Then your Primary console, the console you used to download the game on. Log out as the primary user, and log in with the secondary user account that you created.
Hope that helps, because the whole process is confusing until you do it a couple of times.
If anyone has 2k or nbalive i can gameshare madden
And if both accounts have ps plus?
You can share games that the other person does not have.
do you still have to activate their account on your ps4 ?
i just want to play without changing all of that cause what if they need to buy games
Summary: the person not playing on the account with ps plus needs to have the ps plus account set as primary
So recapping:
- Login with your credentials from a ps4 account that already owns the games.
-install games using that account.
-login to any other account on that console to have access to those games.
-Rinse and repeat on any console you like.
Almost:
- Login with your credentials from a ps4 account that already owns the games.
-install games using that account.
-stay logged into the PS4 using the PS4 account that already owns the games.
-from your primary PS4 (the one used to purchase the games on) login with any other account
-play together
As you have to give the person you are sharing your games with, your PSN account details, and they would have to give you their details. This method of game sharing is not something you would do with strangers.
Im trying to help my friend get some games so we can play but I’m afraid to try this can’t you get banned for doing this?
Hi Fritosax, Game sharing is completely legal and you will not get banned. However, there are a couple of different options you can choose from. To give you some information on the other share options take a look at this link www.playstation.com/en-gb/explore/ps4/features/share-play/
I would suggest that if you are planning on using the Share technique shown in the video, that you only share with "true" friends i.e. people you completely trust. This is because you will have to share PSN account details.
Sony put this in on purpose

You can't play the game when both users are logged in at the same time.
On both consoles are you actually logging out of both account or are you just using switch user?
@@mydoodads So you play on their profile then what
Gamesharing requires a lot of trust and good communication between you and your friend.
@@mydoodads Cool. 1 more question he has downloaded my madden on his profile off of my account is that because he has the primary console as well?
Hi Tony,
Not necessarily.
Are there any kind people who want to give me there account...sorry i only have disc games

Unfortunately not. This method will only work with games you purchased online from the PSN store.
Can you game share with more than 1 person?
Game Share is designed so that you can only share games with one person at a time. However, you can download a game to as many consoles as you like.
Absolute nonesense games will be blocked so stop saying activate this activate that.
