Thanks. This was a big help. For anyone watching this and are worried, to transfer my almost full hard drive data of 500GB it look roughly 80 minutes. It really is a very simple thing and this video describes it brilliantly.
Also, if you have an extended storage device, so long as you are using the same PSN account, you can just unplug from old and plug into new and it won’t wipe any data. Just make sure you have logged onto your PSN account before you plug it in. Thanks again
If you buy any dlc or games does it transfer to the other PS4, I bought some in game currency on rocket league and I really don't want to lose it
@@imArcheRR The DLC will be part of your memory so it should yes. Also, any DLC you buy is linked to your PSN account so you shouldn't lose it just because you have changed consoles

@@Mauri2rawww From what I can tell you shouldn't lose any data. I'm no expert at this and I can only talk about my own experience. However, I would suggest transferring everything in one go. I initially tried doing it by stages and I almost lost some data then.

Hi, for the transfer is it using internet data? For example if I move 300 GB is it going to take them from my internet? Or the LAN cable will make the transfer without the use of internet?

Thanks for this. So simple and so great. Why they won't let us play coop like this when we did this on older consoles.... I dunno. Frustrating to know it has the data transfer capabilities but we can't do a old school Lan party multi-player because.... REASONS. lol. I'm rural and have shit internet so multi-player is impossible for me but I'm glad I can transfer my saves onto my new console so easily :)

I managed to do this but my old PS4 had a broken hdmi. I used my imagination and got it on the same wifi, updated it and managed to transfer the data. I feel like a god

Hopefully, you already installed a SSD to your new PS4 Pro. SSD is a huge improvement of loading time game like GTA5 or MHW:IB no question ask.

I have a question for you. I can't get my old PS4 Pro to display on a tv, so I bought a new PS4 Pro. My problem is that my old PS4 wasn't hooked up to the internet through WIFI it was hooked up through a LAN cable. So if I can't change the internet settings on my old PS4 could the new PS4 still find my old one? Or could the new PS4 find the old PS4 through a LAN cable? Any help would be appreciated.

i just did it and compared to the original model, it makes almost no noise. I was a bit afraid of the data transfer time, specifically since my net is crap and slower than a snail but it finished pretty quickly

It said it would take 64 hours to transfer all my stuff over, I'm just going to backup the saves and reinstall the games I play at the moment and reinstall the others when I want to play them.

It's still there. You'll need to factory reset.
It won't delete any data from your old ps4
It basically just makes another copy for your new ps4
So will you be able to play on the old and new ps4 interchangeably with the same account? I’m going to put my old ps4 in the living room. But if I wanted to could I still play from the living room on my account

Plus when u transfer it doesn't get rid of the data. It basically just copies itself onto another ps4

Just to let everyone know. If you already have games installed on your new PS4 don't do this. It will delete everything you have.
So delete the games first and they will be in your library

The whole reason I needed to do this is because I switched PS4’s because it wouldn’t update . Little did I know it had to be updated to transfer the data anyway! Horrendous 😂
