Seems like a fantastic engine without some of the components that fail on other engines. I’ll be super interested to see what drivers and mechanics say about this engine once it gets some miles on it in the field.
Thank you for your comment! Our technicians at Bluegrass are impressed with the design after completing certification training. This engine has undergone extensive testing, accumulating over 2 billion miles in Europe over the past two years. It's a collaborative effort between Scania, Mann, and International to develop a globally leading engine.
The purpose of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is to recirculate exhaust gases back to the engine's cylinders, helping to increase the engine temperature. Unlike systems equipped with an EGR cooler designed to reduce temperature, our system aims to maintain the engine at approximately 600 degrees. The primary function of the EGR is during startup, facilitating a quicker reach to the operating temperature. This process effectively reduces soot production while increasing NOx emissions, which are subsequently managed by the aftertreatment system.
I hope it works better than their previous attempts. Internationals record is less than stellar (trying to be kind here), the replacement for the DT 466 was a bad engine. The contraption using a Man lower end with their own top end on the Pro trucks was even worse.
North America is waking up with the Scania engine . Only point i don5 lime is tbar Americans saying they developed the engine but its a engine thst drives alrwady some years in Europe.. the engine is optimized in several places for as like in Alberta Canada and did testing for few years now .. so they found out the had to increase compression to come to the north america emissions. But yes a great engine that has proven itself already for years! Fun fact that you need yo ask where the low pressure system is
That’s Scania engine International did nothing They have no competency except putting their logo and doing marketing saying that they did create this engine But the way hydraulic retarder not available as in Europe with same Scania power train Pay more to get less
We understand your concerns, but it's worth noting that both International and Scania are under the TRATON umbrella of companies. This means they benefit from shared technology and expertise. The goal is to create a globally superior engine by leveraging strengths from both brands. The collaboration is aimed at bringing the best possible performance and innovation to the market.
Good to see that US got a real engine now! This wont dissapoint for sure!

That is awesome! ✅✅
100 % powertrain 🇸🇪
They will never pass Cummins in the global market.
@@BluegrassIntlTrucks DC 13 Scania.
So, is the egr valve still there to dump soot back in the engine or where does exhaust gas go?

Scania engine is the best in this internationnal 2024

I'd like to test drive a truck
I am a International Salesman in Texas and Oklahoma. When do you want to come in?
@@boostedbavarian I don't go to texas a lot, but where exactly in tx? Name of the dealership? What's is needed to test drive one of these trucks?

@@BluegrassIntlTrucks At this point international needs to put out a new truck design in the US, all the other major players already have.
