Thank you for this video. I'm in the UK, my daughter had her tongue cut after birth but we weren't given any information and were told to avoid tongue exercises because of an increased risk of infection. Her tongue tie has now reattached and formed scar tissue so much so that there isn't anything left to cut. We are now stuck seeing a chiropractor to try and relax/stretch the tongue so that a second incision can be made. Her feeding and her colic symptoms are getting worse (Although she is gaining weight still). We haven't see any changes to her tongue yet. It's impossible to know what the right thing to do is.
I'm sure it was only cut partially, that's why she is still having the issues. You need to find someone to evaluate it who can make sure it was done properly. @@TongueTieAL Just wanted to come back here and say thank you. Dr Suraj did a release of lips, cheeks and tongue yesterday. We were stuck with doctors saying there was nothing they could do and already we see a difference. Thanks again, God bless

I'm a adult and I am on day 4 after my surgery.... My mouth is so sore. My tip of my tongue is numb... I can't eat, drink water or brush my teeth without being in so much pain..Even my teeth are aching. .. Is this normal?
Hi Ceano, you can reach out to your provider if you have questions. Some temporary numbness can be normal. Typically our patients are moderately sore for 1-3 days. It should get better soon. But I don't know what method they used, how deep they went, sutured or not, etc. There are many different ways to do the procedure, so if you have specific questions, I would reach out to your provider and schedule a follow-up appointment.
