was really scratching my head as to why rath was chosen instead of anjanath... resistances? Those 2 extra 1 slots mean you could slot 5 defense boost if you really wanted. Or 3 satiated/grinder/diversion/2 recovery etc. Seems like an oversight
For everyone looking for the pro build charm: LOOK HERE! You can obtain that talisman pretty easily from moonbow targeting quick sheath. It has 1/265 chance of appearing, much much higher than only using whisp of mistery. So if you guys main LS and want that sweet charm, start using moonbow for quick sheath instead!
Don't spread misinformation please. From the datamine published a month ago, it is proven IMPOSSIBLE to get quick sheath 2 (nor 3) with moonbow. The maximum form Moonbow is Quick Sheath 1 edit: I am wrong, serves me right
@@notkamui9749 i kindly invite you to go check back the datamine if you don't trust me, you're probably getting confused with weakness exploit, which is indeed impossible to obtain at level 2 with the moonbow melding. quick sheath it is totally possible to obtain, i got a lot of qs lv 2 with a lv 2 slot and even got the 2 level 2 slot one from that. moonbow is indeed the best way to obtain that qs charm

Your the best TDS, I was struggling making a powerful build until now. I was just wearing full magna armor up until now since I liked its look and I still took down monsters pretty easy.
Actually i was the same type of play like "As higher the rank of your armor is, as stronger you are" :D big mistake :D Just pick the right HR armor with jewels and its fine! But i have to say, that i dont like this lucky based charm bullshit... world did it better with deco stones!
Great video guys. I haven’t been able to make the pro pro builds still got quick sheath 2 and 1 slot lol. Tigrex long is hands down just op it makes you feel so powerful and it great for us Sakura slash users lol still getting good times on apex’s.

Idevaste, a member of Team Darkside, made a video on DBs a couple days ago. Check there to find some info on it. I don't know much about DBs since I haven't used them since MH3U. Ik you should focus on using element with them, but you should probs check Idevaste to find out more.

For that Rathalos Coil S, use Anjanath Coil S instead, it has 2 attack boost, no 1pt of windproof, has the lvl2 deco slot, but comes with 2 more lvl1 deco slots
I feel like speed sharpening really got some spotlight in Rise since every important level 1 decoration got bumped to level 2 and since you got level 1 slots it's like why not. But I still dislike how skills that go up to level 7 are now a 2 slot decoration 😌
Thanks for showing the EFR calc. If anyone is replicating this, make sure you use absolute values for affinity (both instances) when calc'ing negative affinity EFR. This is obviously not a problem with positive affinity calcs. Showing an example with -10% vs +10% affinity at critboost0 without absolute values 0.75 x -0.1 + 1 + 0.1 = 1.025 1.25 x 0.1 + 1 - 0.1 = 1.025 -10% with |aff| 0.75 x 0.1 + 1 - 0.1 = 0.975 alternative calc (critmod x |aff| + 1) keep in mind this is critmod and not critdmg. -0.25 x 0.1 + 1 = 0.975 0.25 x 0.1 + 1 = 1.025

I recently started using the Gnash Katana with kaiser, barroth, rath, rath, ingot, with a bludgeoner 3 charm with a 2 slot. I get 315 base raw and 75 crit with wexploit. Probably not optimal but I get some extra def and a point of flinch free so it's pretty comfy, definitely gonna look into the cham one though
3:49 if you only have the quick sheath 2 with 2-2-0 (or 2-2-1) charm, not the Quick sheath 2 with 3-2-1 charm on the pro build, you can use vaik mail instead of the barioth mail and slot a handicraft jewel and quick sheath jewel on the vaik mail to get functionality the same build as the pro build minus a level of maximum might
Dude you literally just saved my life🙏 I've been trying to get that talisman for the past 2 days, but I just completed the build with the exact same amount of skills I got a fatal tempest talisman with plus two quick sheath so I added back the extra tenderizer and one more quick sheath and it's the exact same. I have a build based on the earlier builds you guys created with the Nargacuga LS. As Ive yet to get that damn charm you guys present here for the pro build, I've made a somewhat decent one. A charm by the name of Fatal Tempest Talisman that gives me lvl 3 Quick Sheath and 1 Blight Resistance with a lvl 2 slot and lvl 1 slot. The armor: Kaiser Head, Zinogre Chest, Rathalos Braces, Anjanath Coil and the Golden Hakama. With the proper decorations I am able to gain this: Attack Boost lvl 7 Crit Eye lvl 3 Crit Boost lvl 3 Quick Sheath lvl 3 Recovery Speed 3 Speed Sharpening 3 Latent power 2 Weakness Exploit 2 Blight Resitance 1 and Flinch free 1. I've found this build to be relatively equal to the builds you guys posted here. Atleast seeing the damage numbers. If anyone has any ideas to improve this by any means, do let me know! Many thanks.

Can anyone help me? 4:21 Why is he using the Rathalos Coil S instead of for example the Bazelgeuse Coil? The Bazelgeuse Coil has 2 double decoration slots and more defense. Excuse me if this is a stupid question.
Valstrax builds may be more practical for a lot of people, though, since it has higher base defense, huge elemental resist (+50), and if you're getting hit some of the damage procs are really good (10% attack, plus resentment and resuscitate that procs itself). With a QS 3 2-2-0 charm and an upgraded chamelios LS, you can put together a pretty nice protective polish build (1 handicraft for white, level 3 slot comes on the Valstrax chest), where even in the top apex fights you'll be really hard to kill.
you can actually make a pro Chameleos LS with the QS+2 2-2slot talisman. all you need to do is change the BARIOTH MAIL S to VAIK MAIL S then you can do the rest with jewels/accesories. you'll have the ff skills: CEye+5 AtkBoost+4 CB+3 WEx+3 Handicraft+3 QSheath+3 SpeedSharpening+3 Free Meal+3 Flinch Free+1 HellfireCloak+1 the only difference is you won't have MMight+1.
@@looskiss1262 well I mean they are speed runners. Cx wouldn't make too much sense if they made one about other weapons. LS, is the easiest to master, since you kinda only really have to use 3 moves, and one combo. To output the most dps.

I'm excited to see how the Elder dragon weapons get upgraded in the next update. Tigrex is meta for now, but Tigrine Need is the last sword in its tree. The other swords all have the number 1 next to their name, implying there will be further upgrades added.
I'm just hoping to see some of the other weapons in the tree to be upgradable again like the imperial sword which had another tree that goes into the Aqua Sword (I believe that's what it was called) which looks very good
hey quick question regarding the tigrex pro version. why no use barioth gloves instead of kaiser and get an extra 10% affinity? am i missing something or are u just missing out on free affinity by using kaiser gloves? tho, that would require a different talisman cause barioth chest and gloves already give lvl 2 quick sheathe.
Is windproof better than two single slots? If not, what benefit is the rathalos coil over anjanath coil? Anja would give you two more single slots. Albeit, slightly less defense.
So on the Chameleos Pro why are we using Rathalos Waist over the Anja Waist? The anja waist gives 2 extra 1 slots which while it wont increase dps, it would just give more area for Level 1 slots. And if you want that windproof. Thats a Level 1 slot. So essentially no matter how you cut it you get a net gain of atleast 1 one slot. I'm curious on the choice of Rath over Anja, if there is something I'm just not seeing.
just quick notice: Sacura slash FILL your spirit bar, not spend it. So, playing with Sakura slash you always with red spirit bar. It just easier playstyle
Plz explain to me why you're using the rathalos coil over the anjanath in the pro Cham build? Anja has a 2 slot and 2 1 slots while rathalos has 1 2 slot and anja has a bonus crit eye.
why would you use the rath coil instead of the anj coil for the chemeleos build? the windpreassure negate isnt crucial and the anj coil gives two more single slots?
Since i dont have the pro builds talisman, Is it better to have the budget tigrex build or the pro tigrex build but with wex level 2? (Which is the set that peppo used in the kushala speedrun but without windproof)
@@xakuray5522 yeah i have no luck so far with the qs 2 and two lvl 2 slots talisman so far. I only have the qs 3 with 3-1 slots talisman. But if thats better than the budget build ill use the pro build and drop one level of crit boost like you said, thanks
@@xakuray5522 That's not how it works, qs3 with 1 lvl2 slot is the same as qs2 with 1 lvl2 slot, barioth is still the best chest piece because it gives you 1 more lvl1 slot than vaik. The best he can do is playing with qs3, ab4, wex3, cb2, ce7 and mm1
Why would you use Rathalos Coil instead of Anja Coil in the Chammy build? It’s just a straight downgrade. You get two extra one slots with Anja. If you care about the windproof and extra two points in defense, you can more than slot those both in with the extra slots you’ve got with Anja. Otherwise I like these builds. Your Tiggy build is the same as mine, and I’m really happy to remember my Quick Sheath 2 charm has 3-2-0 slots. I’ve been using it as 2-2-0 slots for so long I almost believed that was they were for a bit.
I often miss the zr+b move with the longsword, do you have a hint how to better get it? I press zr->zr+b and then I do a dodge roll as if i only had press b.... do i must press zr a bit earlier?
ive always been a GS main and the best charm ive ever gotten on rise, back when the charm tables were fixed, was an absolutely stacked LS charm with quick sheath 3, speed sharpen 2, and a single 3, a sinlge 2, and a single one slot. i still cant get good attack charms but like i could make the most nasty ls set
Couldn't you just run handicraft level 2 instead of 3 if you have the double 2 slot quick sheathe 2 charm on the chameleos build and still have the same amount of white sharpness as the tigrex build? Unless I'm missing something, handicraft gives +10 sharpness per level so you'd still have 20 units of white, right?
Tigrine need, Well so when u use a 321 charm whats in the 3 slot? And aren't we a 2slot short? It's hard to tell without showing the screen with skills and armor.
Um is it ok to make the tiggy pro build with just a level 2 weakness exploit? cuz I only have a talisman with quick sheath level 2 and 1 level 3 slots..
For Budget Tigrex...With a charm that has QS1, Master Mounter & two 2 slots, I can run Kaiser helm, Barioth Chest/Hands, Ajanath coil, Kadachi greaves... This leaves me with Crit eye 7, Crit boost/WEX 3, QS3, Attack boost 2, Maximum Might 2, Constitution 1... With 6 lvl 1 slots (Speed sharpening 3, choose the rest) I'm failing to see the benefit of the Kaiser Coil over Anjanath in this situation... Am I missing something? Honestly asking...
Everyone uses Soaring Kick but I really like the Sakura Slash, it's very easy to use so I'm doing more damage overall because when I try to get Soaring Kicks in I miss sometimes. With Sakura I'm able to use it on smaller openings. Also makes it stupid easy to maintain the red sword level. Only downside is the long recharge but it's not that bad since it only uses one bug.
I think the playstyle intended might have been super focused around the wirebug, with Sakura Slash raising the gauge, Serene Pose lowering the gauge. Slot in some wirebug whisperer and esp Silkbind boost now and I bet it’s rather powerful, not that I’ve tried it.

Since I have only a single two slot(cause I’m a sad noob) for either crit eye to up it to lvl 7, crit boost to get that to lvl three, or weakness exploit to lvl 1, which is most worth it?
On the budget build for Chameleos, you can still have 4 attack boosts and if you have talisman that at least has a level 2 quick sheath and a level 3 slot. The only thing that you miss out is you get critical boost level 2 instead of level 3.
@@dantheman9987 Okay so if you have 3 out of 5 armor pieces (which is Kaiser Crown, Barioth's Mail S and Sinister gauntlets S) and change the waist and leggings for Anjanath waist and Ingot Greaves and fill up the decorations with 3 WE, 1 CB, 1 Handicraft and 3 Grinder jewels and a talisman that at least has a quick sheath level 2 and a level 3 slot, you can get almost everything in the pro build except one point in CB and still have level 1 slot left. If you want to have CB 3 then you can swap out the Handricraft for the last CB. Idk if you understood that as I tried my best to explain it but hope you understood it.
I consider protective polish 1 a comfy skill, it delays the time where I have to think about sharpness, though I am the kind of player who sharpens during short openings. Actually a lot of my tactics seem to be pretty far from what other players go for now that I think about it...
I think they just flexed because they had the 1 slot in the charm and all the other 1slot important skills were filled ....and also maybe windproof was worth more than anything possible to slot .
I am really having a hard time trying to re-calculate the effective raw at my side and having a same result (obviously because I should be missing something out, and I'm totally aware that I am just begging, however) and would really appreciate if you can share the calculation process somewhere. It also helps me out when comparing the builds in the video with the builds which I have on hand.
well yes I can find one at 0:46 and now I noticed myself just being indolent, so I guess I shouldnt be requesting anymore. Would it not of been better to have rathalos arms and Tobi mail to have attack 6 with crit 7 boost 3 exploit 3 sharpening 3 and you can use the other slots to how you want ?
So how do I equip all the decorations? I can equip all except either Expert Jewel or the Critical so im confused on how to equip both. It doesnt have an extra slot. unless im doing it wrong? bc it doesnt let me put a level 2 jewel on a level 1 slot, yk? if anyone can help that'd be nice.
My charm is Quicksheath 2: 2-2-0 so I can't fit in handicraft 3, I end up use chrome metal coil, Kadachi greaves. Drop all attacks to fit in Master Touch, I never have to worry about sharpness anymore, although it's like 20 less raw than I normal atk 5 build, but it really comfy and long-term dps is atleast the same: re-sharpen mid-battle really break the flow of combat, it took ~4s even with speed sharpening 3 - while this LS drop to green quite fast
You can make the pro chameleos build even with a lvl2 quick shealth and 2 lvl2 slot talisman ! Juste use the vaik mail and put the handicraft jewel and the quick shealth jewel !
Am confused. If the affiinity boost 3 rampage skill one has better efr, why not use that instead of silkbind boost ? (or perhaps am understanding it wrong ? ) 469.4 > 458.3 .... ?
Basically if you're a pro/speedrunner Silkbind boost but if you aren't, like to use other attacks/Silkbinds or whiff occasionally the affinity ramp will be better.
Could you talk about hellfire cloak in a future video? It seems like another way to get more damage when a monster is enraged but I'm really not sure if it would worth to run via decorations or the magnamalo armor.
Hellfire cloak just gives around 20-30 raw when the monster is enraged. Its basically agitator, but it uses a 3 slot so it isn't worth investing in. All of the special monster specific bonuses are pretty bad. Affinity skills, and critboost are always going to be meta.
I killed thunder serpent narwa. LS. Without any charm , talisman( or whatever it call) no special armor skill, absolutely zero knowledge about counter attacks. Just slash like a maniac. Like freedom unite. I don’t understand anything you said in the video. But I love it.
I completly missed that they had removed the camelos poison effect from it's sword untill after I had made both the Cameleos and Tigrex sets I'm kinda sad thought it would be a great poison long sword to use agains Kushala. Guess I'm the fool, good night every one. XD
My issue with the Chameleos longsword is simple; WHY ISN'T IT POISON?! Seriously, the poison would be nice because it's extra damage but because poison is, well...poison it would only close the gap between it and Tiggy. i hope that the 1 in its name means it'll get upgrades that actually do have poison, bc holy shit I want Chameleos's LS to be the best so baaaaaad. Other than that it's a fantastic longsword. The dip in raw is kind of made up for by the slots and affinity Tiggy just doesn't have, even if Tiggy is technically still better. ALSO, something easier to aim for that's inbetween the pro and budget builds is a Quick Sheath 2 with 2-2 slots from Moonbow Melding if you select that skill. It's about a 1 in 200 chance as opposed to the 1 in a couple thousand the Pro version's Talisman is. The compromise I made for both longswords is one point of max might because I roll too much, and it works pretty well. Although I did switch out the chest and waist in this vid for the Vaik Chest and the Anja waist when it comes to Chameleos, but otherwise it's the same, Attack Boost 4 and all. So yeah, try out getting that if you want something that's between two already close sets. One last thing; I've tried Pro Polish on Chameleos and I can confirm it's very stressful; ideally it's only possible to get level 2 on there, and even with speed sharpen, sharpening every 60 seconds is just...blarg. So take it from me, if you want to make that compromise, be prepared for high-effort maintenance compared to normal.

For that Rathalos Coil S, use Anjanath Coil S instead, it has 2 attack boost, no 1pt of windproof, has the lvl2 deco slot, but comes with 2 more lvl1 deco slots
I feel like speed sharpening really got some spotlight in Rise since every important level 1 decoration got bumped to level 2 and since you got level 1 slots it's like why not. But I still dislike how skills that go up to level 7 are now a 2 slot decoration 😌

Thanks for showing the EFR calc. If anyone is replicating this, make sure you use absolute values for affinity (both instances) when calc'ing negative affinity EFR. This is obviously not a problem with positive affinity calcs.
Showing an example with -10% vs +10% affinity at critboost0 without absolute values

1.25 x 0.1 + 1 - 0.1 = 1.025
-10% with |aff|

alternative calc (critmod x |aff| + 1) keep in mind this is critmod and not critdmg.

I recently started using the Gnash Katana with kaiser, barroth, rath, rath, ingot, with a bludgeoner 3 charm with a 2 slot. I get 315 base raw and 75 crit with wexploit. Probably not optimal but I get some extra def and a point of flinch free so it's pretty comfy, definitely gonna look into the cham one though
3:49 if you only have the quick sheath 2 with 2-2-0 (or 2-2-1) charm, not the Quick sheath 2 with 3-2-1 charm on the pro build, you can use vaik mail instead of the barioth mail and slot a handicraft jewel and quick sheath jewel on the vaik mail to get functionality the same build as the pro build minus a level of maximum might

I've been trying to get that talisman for the past 2 days, but I just completed the build with the exact same amount of skills I got a fatal tempest talisman with plus two quick sheath so I added back the extra tenderizer and one more quick sheath and it's the exact same. Thanks a lot
I have a build based on the earlier builds you guys created with the Nargacuga LS. As Ive yet to get that damn charm you guys present here for the pro build, I've made a somewhat decent one. A charm by the name of Fatal Tempest Talisman that gives me lvl 3 Quick Sheath and 1 Blight Resistance with a lvl 2 slot and lvl 1 slot. The armor: Kaiser Head, Zinogre Chest, Rathalos Braces, Anjanath Coil and the Golden Hakama. With the proper decorations I am able to gain this:
Attack Boost lvl 7
Crit Eye lvl 3
Crit Boost lvl 3
Quick Sheath lvl 3
Recovery Speed 3
Speed Sharpening 3
Latent power 2
Weakness Exploit 2
Blight Resitance 1 and Flinch free 1.
I've found this build to be relatively equal to the builds you guys posted here. Atleast seeing the damage numbers.

Can anyone help me? 4:21 Why is he using the Rathalos Coil S instead of for example the Bazelgeuse Coil? The Bazelgeuse Coil has 2 double decoration slots and more defense. Excuse me if this is a stupid question.
Valstrax builds may be more practical for a lot of people, though, since it has higher base defense, huge elemental resist (+50), and if you're getting hit some of the damage procs are really good (10% attack, plus resentment and resuscitate that procs itself).
With a QS 3 2-2-0 charm and an upgraded chamelios LS, you can put together a pretty nice protective polish build (1 handicraft for white, level 3 slot comes on the Valstrax chest), where even in the top apex fights you'll be really hard to kill.

you can actually make a pro Chameleos LS with the QS+2 2-2slot talisman.
all you need to do is change the BARIOTH MAIL S to VAIK MAIL S
then you can do the rest with jewels/accesories.
you'll have the ff skills:

WEx+3
Handicraft+3
QSheath+3
SpeedSharpening+3
Free Meal+3

I'm excited to see how the Elder dragon weapons get upgraded in the next update. Tigrex is meta for now, but Tigrine Need is the last sword in its tree. The other swords all have the number 1 next to their name, implying there will be further upgrades added.

For the Chameleos pro build you can use the Dober Coil instead of the Rathalos Coil and save yourself the trouble hunting for a Rathalos Ruby :)
hey quick question regarding the tigrex pro version. why no use barioth gloves instead of kaiser and get an extra 10% affinity? am i missing something or are u just missing out on free affinity by using kaiser gloves? tho, that would require a different talisman cause barioth chest and gloves already give lvl 2 quick sheathe.

So on the Chameleos Pro why are we using Rathalos Waist over the Anja Waist? The anja waist gives 2 extra 1 slots which while it wont increase dps, it would just give more area for Level 1 slots. And if you want that windproof. Thats a Level 1 slot. So essentially no matter how you cut it you get a net gain of atleast 1 one slot. I'm curious on the choice of Rath over Anja, if there is something I'm just not seeing.
just quick notice: Sacura slash FILL your spirit bar, not spend it. So, playing with Sakura slash you always with red spirit bar. It just easier playstyle

@@xakuray5522 That's not how it works, qs3 with 1 lvl2 slot is the same as qs2 with 1 lvl2 slot, barioth is still the best chest piece because it gives you 1 more lvl1 slot than vaik. The best he can do is playing with qs3, ab4, wex3, cb2, ce7 and mm1

Why would you use Rathalos Coil instead of Anja Coil in the Chammy build? It’s just a straight downgrade. You get two extra one slots with Anja. If you care about the windproof and extra two points in defense, you can more than slot those both in with the extra slots you’ve got with Anja.
Otherwise I like these builds. Your Tiggy build is the same as mine, and I’m really happy to remember my Quick Sheath 2 charm has 3-2-0 slots. I’ve been using it as 2-2-0 slots for so long I almost believed that was they were for a bit.
I often miss the zr+b move with the longsword, do you have a hint how to better get it? I press zr->zr+b and then I do a dodge roll as if i only had press b.... do i must press zr a bit earlier?
ive always been a GS main and the best charm ive ever gotten on rise, back when the charm tables were fixed, was an absolutely stacked LS charm with quick sheath 3, speed sharpen 2, and a single 3, a sinlge 2, and a single one slot. i still cant get good attack charms but like i could make the most nasty ls set
Couldn't you just run handicraft level 2 instead of 3 if you have the double 2 slot quick sheathe 2 charm on the chameleos build and still have the same amount of white sharpness as the tigrex build? Unless I'm missing something, handicraft gives +10 sharpness per level so you'd still have 20 units of white, right?

For Budget Tigrex...With a charm that has QS1, Master Mounter & two 2 slots, I can run Kaiser helm, Barioth Chest/Hands, Ajanath coil, Kadachi greaves...
This leaves me with Crit eye 7, Crit boost/WEX 3, QS3, Attack boost 2, Maximum Might 2, Constitution 1... With 6 lvl 1 slots (Speed sharpening 3, choose the rest)
I'm failing to see the benefit of the Kaiser Coil over Anjanath in this situation... Am I missing something? Honestly asking...

Everyone uses Soaring Kick but I really like the Sakura Slash, it's very easy to use so I'm doing more damage overall because when I try to get Soaring Kicks in I miss sometimes. With Sakura I'm able to use it on smaller openings. Also makes it stupid easy to maintain the red sword level. Only downside is the long recharge but it's not that bad since it only uses one bug.
I think the playstyle intended might have been super focused around the wirebug, with Sakura Slash raising the gauge, Serene Pose lowering the gauge. Slot in some wirebug whisperer and esp Silkbind boost now and I bet it’s rather powerful, not that I’ve tried it.
Back in the day, the original Long Sword playstyle IS maintaining dps in red gauge

On the budget build for Chameleos, you can still have 4 attack boosts and if you have talisman that at least has a level 2 quick sheath and a level 3 slot. The only thing that you miss out is you get critical boost level 2 instead of level 3.

@@dantheman9987 Okay so if you have 3 out of 5 armor pieces (which is Kaiser Crown, Barioth's Mail S and Sinister gauntlets S) and change the waist and leggings for Anjanath waist and Ingot Greaves and fill up the decorations with 3 WE, 1 CB, 1 Handicraft and 3 Grinder jewels and a talisman that at least has a quick sheath level 2 and a level 3 slot, you can get almost everything in the pro build except one point in CB and still have level 1 slot left. If you want to have CB 3 then you can swap out the Handricraft for the last CB.
Idk if you understood that as I tried my best to explain it but hope you understood it.
I consider protective polish 1 a comfy skill, it delays the time where I have to think about sharpness, though I am the kind of player who sharpens during short openings.
Actually a lot of my tactics seem to be pretty far from what other players go for now that I think about it...
Same, also, if satiated works like it did in world, that's 45% chance of me not using the whetfish+ I have stocked from argosy special items

I am really having a hard time trying to re-calculate the effective raw at my side and having a same result (obviously because I should be missing something out, and I'm totally aware that I am just begging, however) and would really appreciate if you can share the calculation process somewhere.
It also helps me out when comparing the builds in the video with the builds which I have on hand.

My charm is Quicksheath 2: 2-2-0 so I can't fit in handicraft 3, I end up use chrome metal coil, Kadachi greaves. Drop all attacks to fit in Master Touch, I never have to worry about sharpness anymore, although it's like 20 less raw than I normal atk 5 build, but it really comfy and long-term dps is atleast the same: re-sharpen mid-battle really break the flow of combat, it took ~4s even with speed sharpening 3 - while this LS drop to green quite fast
You can make the pro chameleos build even with a lvl2 quick shealth and 2 lvl2 slot talisman ! Juste use the vaik mail and put the handicraft jewel and the quick shealth jewel !

Because you get 10% more damage on helmbreaker which is your main source of damage.
Yeah, 10% more on helmbreak just outdamages more affinity on regular attacks because of how powerful helmbreaker is anyway
Basically if you're a pro/speedrunner Silkbind boost but if you aren't, like to use other attacks/Silkbinds or whiff occasionally the affinity ramp will be better.

It seems like another way to get more damage when a monster is enraged but I'm really not sure if it would worth to run via decorations or the magnamalo armor.
Hellfire cloak just gives around 20-30 raw when the monster is enraged. Its basically agitator, but it uses a 3 slot so it isn't worth investing in. All of the special monster specific bonuses are pretty bad. Affinity skills, and critboost are always going to be meta.
is there any particular reason why you didn't upgrade di LS to phantom mirage?
I have the feeling this upgrade mathode doesn't work. I tried it multiple times, but the skill disappears always from the weapon

I killed thunder serpent narwa. LS. Without any charm , talisman( or whatever it call) no special armor skill, absolutely zero knowledge about counter attacks. Just slash like a maniac. Like freedom unite. I don’t understand anything you said in the video. But I love it.
Does the budget Chameleos LS build use the same decos as the Pro one?
I completly missed that they had removed the camelos poison effect from it's sword untill after I had made both the Cameleos and Tigrex sets I'm kinda sad thought it would be a great poison long sword to use agains Kushala.

My issue with the Chameleos longsword is simple; WHY ISN'T IT POISON?! Seriously, the poison would be nice because it's extra damage but because poison is, well...poison it would only close the gap between it and Tiggy. i hope that the 1 in its name means it'll get upgrades that actually do have poison, bc holy shit I want Chameleos's LS to be the best so baaaaaad. Other than that it's a fantastic longsword. The dip in raw is kind of made up for by the slots and affinity Tiggy just doesn't have, even if Tiggy is technically still better.
ALSO, something easier to aim for that's inbetween the pro and budget builds is a Quick Sheath 2 with 2-2 slots from Moonbow Melding if you select that skill. It's about a 1 in 200 chance as opposed to the 1 in a couple thousand the Pro version's Talisman is. The compromise I made for both longswords is one point of max might because I roll too much, and it works pretty well. Although I did switch out the chest and waist in this vid for the Vaik Chest and the Anja waist when it comes to Chameleos, but otherwise it's the same, Attack Boost 4 and all. So yeah, try out getting that if you want something that's between two already close sets.
One last thing; I've tried Pro Polish on Chameleos and I can confirm it's very stressful; ideally it's only possible to get level 2 on there, and even with speed sharpen, sharpening every 60 seconds is just...blarg. So take it from me, if you want to make that compromise, be prepared for high-effort maintenance compared to normal.
