If you change your mini map to detailed and tab over to gathering on the large map it'll show all the gathering spots on your mini, makes learning the route much easier.
@@square7563 Game settings. Hub map type. It will essentially swap the L shoulder button function. So it will be zoomed it, then press L to zoom out. Whatever overlay you set in the map menu is what will show on the minimap.
I knew I wasn't imagining this! I accidentally did this early on while farming for the submarine quests but then accidentally deactivated it and couldn't figure out if it was only a thing that worked with the submarine quests or what. Thanks for the explanations!

Poor like in the old MH days?! We used to either run infinite Hermitaur spawn stages or speed Silver Rathalos and sell all the parts. S Rath in 3-4 mins and made 60-90k zenny depending on drops. The sad part was it took a while for us to realize how much we could make selling parts because we were always crafting.
Me I farmed tons of gear and always was broke. I heavily relied on selling the decoration ore from the girl with the ship. Some of those decorations sell for 10k then in the buddy area behind the shrine I'd also climb the tree to the top and loot the cahoot nest every few missions and sometimes get silver eggs that sell for 10k. Finally selling a bunch of parts from the materials from monsters i was trying to get items like plates with a very small drop rate. It took me like 15 farms to get magnamalo plates and I had like 60 of every other material he had. In regards yep money seemed hard seeing that a full set of green gear in high rank for instance is 20k. 4k a piece of gear is not the worst but the weapons on the other hand if your collecting them all starts to go over 12k by red and green gear. Too easy to run out of money if your goal is collecting everything.

Especially since a lot of good endgame gear comes from things like the ore and bone tree so you have to spend zenny EVERY time to upgrade each node along the branches.

Extra Tip: If you get the "Dango Harvester" (Raisin d'etre dango) activation from the canteen it will decrease the time between node respawns - that way if you happen to make it through really quick there will be no need to wait on the respawn! More Zenny! Edit: After using this canteen skill I ended up making a whopping 400k plus some, allowing me to do 3 full laps. Definitely utilize this!
It feels so weird being broke in a Monster Hunter game. I'm just so used to the free Platinum eggs in GU and the bandit mantle/palico boomerang in World/Iceborne. Now I'm selling monster parts and always eating for more zenny. Thanks for this video Gaijin!
It's so weird, I've had this problem in other games before, but mostly World. I remember being early game and frequently selling off monster parts for the exact same reason.

There's a similar route on the Frost Islands to get loads of Carbalite and Gracium to sell: From camp, go to the hill west of Area 5, then drop down into the Zamite pit for a node before travelling north along the top of Area 3. Cross the path on the west and use the Great Wirebug to jump to the point overlooking Area 6 before following the path north to Area 9, grabbing a node on the right of the path and one on the hill to the right of 9. Climb the mountain at the back, looping behind to grab a hidden node. Straight behind you when you get that node is the one wall you can climb here, which you can climb up to the secret path at the back. Great Wirebug to the hole above Area 12, but make sure to wirebug across to grab the nodes on the far side before falling down. Hit the side room between 12 and 11 and the node in 11 before warping to Subcamp 2 and grabbing the node straight across from the camp, just above it and the node behind it before running down to the cave entrance to 12 to grab the final node (or skip this one for time). I hope this helps some people, its hard to explain without showing and its definitely slower than this video, but it does work.
@@marselflex2254 switch your map yo show gathering points and go to the white deposit in the closed off bit that's filled with zamites between Area 4 and 5, then just follow the ore deposit trail that will inevitably lead you to area 9, it's nowhere near as complicated as it sounds.

I don't know how to express how thankful I am for this quick and simple guide. The zenny drain was legitimately bumming me out since I couldn't switch around weapons easily without hours of tedious grind even though I got the monster parts already. Gaijin, proof of a hero is now your theme song :)
This was fantastic for me, thank you. Found myself having such a horrible time with having a reasonable amount of Zenny because I gave myself the goal of "Craft every Hunting Horn as I progress", got up to late High Rank now and it has been a bit too much of a chore trying to keep that up while also being able to afford armor. I did just a single run of this and that's enough Zenny to continue without worrying.

I like to bring an Insect Glaive with me on this route. The added jump, air dodge, and Silkbind move in the air gives great horizontal clearance so you don't have to run up the wall from the bottom of the pond after you travel to Sub Camp 2. I usually go from the Sub Camp, jump down like normal, and I like to go down the ramp a bit and use the Insect Glaive to jump across the whole gap just as where the left turn happens. If you go straight across, there's actually an extra outcrop on that first little plateau you can mine with minimal time loss, and with the dog you can just ride it back to where Gaijin showed as normal before you head to back to the Main Camp.
Botanist sounds like the way someone would say it if they learned the word from reading. Which is really weird because botanist isn't even a rare word.
I genuinely appreciate you bringing up the no jump edits for the runthrough. So many guides do this and it's just like why are you giving yourself more work than you need. Thanks for the help!
Pro tip: if the first three don't get you all the items you need, head back to the main camp. There's a fourth thing near the camp, and a fifth on the riverbed just north of the main camp in case Gog REALLY cursed your luck.
Lol, should have checked comments. IMO run and grab it first, you're adding a minuscule amount of additional time & making the route more reliable. Getting screwed on the plants feels decently common.
Ah, the classic feeling of going from forgetting zenny exists at the end of a MH game, to being desperately broke all the time at the start of a new game...though this one seems to leave you broke even in the late game...
it really be like that in that weird middle phase of mh games where youre trying to get good sets and all the upgrades go from 2500 to 46000 but you havent hunted enough to not have to worry about the monies

Great video. Months ago, I found your video when I was a beginner and had no idea how to farm Zenny (or even play the game well lol). I have since probably run this circuit dozens of times, and I've made it a little personal game of mine to make this as optimized and fast as possible. I play on PC now and have a timer overlayed on my UI so I can time myself and turn it into a race. You mentioned a few times in your video about possibly clearing some of the jumps without having to wall climb. I found a way to do that. Create an equipment loadout with geologist 3 and evade extender 3. On the long jumps near sub-camp two, get a running start on your palamute, jump while on the palamute, jump off the palamute at the peak of your arc, and then wirebug and evade mid-air for maximum distance across the two huge jumps at the end of the circuit. Doing this, you can clear both canyons with just two wirebugs and no wall climbing. If this is difficult, there are 2 wirebugs on the route that you can pick up on the circuit without losing time and a third that will lose you about 1.5 seconds on the region 5 plateau before dropping into the canyon. With 3 wirebugs and evade extender, clearing these canyons without climbing is a piece of cake (and you feel like spiderman when doing it lol). Here's another way to get faster - when you go down the canyon near the beginning of the circuit, you can leap off your palamute before hitting one of the ledges near the bottom and water area, and then use your wirebug with mid-air evade to leap all the way over to that first ore outcrop sitting in the water. It's quite tricky and far, but you can do it with evade extender. That's much faster than staying on the palamute and hitting ledges on the way down and taking the time to turn your palamute around. I think the Titanic could probably make tighter turns than a Monster Hunter Rise palamute, but that's another topic. You also only need to visit the tent once at the end of your second circuit to prevent yourself from hitting the item limits in your inventory. When you get really fast, you end up waiting several seconds for that first mining outcrop to reappear. So, I modified my equipment loadout to max out the botanist skill and started using that spare time to gather bones, honey, plants, and insects along the way without the opportunity cost of any valuable ore or having to sit around and wait for the first ore outcrop to appear each time. I found I can usually complete an optional quest or two this way while farming zenny on this route. I might someday make a little video showing these optimizations, giving you full credit for the original idea and circuit, of course. Thanks again. Cheers.

Just did a run and found a way to skip that big gap without a third wirebug. Basically, before jumping you go a little to the left and follow the path. Your character will start sliding instead of running. That's when you want to jump off, to use the boost the sliding provides. That boost is enough to make it across with two wirebugs.
This. You can also grab the plants (might seed!) and thunderbugs on the slide down, which is a bonus. The gap is smaller as well so no need third bug. However, there *are* a couple of wirebugs on the way previously if you path correctly that might still be on you when you get to the gap.
Fun tip to save a bit more time in the route: You can run on the walls without wirebugging when you jump off palamute. Just run with the palamute and jump with it then jump off the palamute towards the wall. ZR -> B
Two things I noticed while running this route myself: When you're running towards the vine wall that leads to that small chamber in the back of the volcano (where you jump off the dog and crawl in), you can actually pick up a wirebug there shortly before the vines. Second: After jumping down from the subcamp, if you slide down the path/ridge to the right of the mining node it brings you closer to the platform where the mining nodes are and you can jump over with two wirebugs easily.
ANOTHER WAY TO GET SOME EASY ZENNY (but certainly not as much): Check the Argosy every run! I know I wasn't doing it at the beginning, but she can have rare finds that are the rocks that sell for 1k-10k zenny a piece. It's not much but if you do it in between the outcrop upsurge checking, you might end up with a little extra cash!
Good call. These ores cost only 50 points (one of them is Loc Lac Ore, the other I can't remember how it's called) and I started hoarding each and every one she sells as soon as they appeared. I'm still at Village 5/HR 2 so not strapping for cash, but once the need arises, I'll have at least some 20k sitting on my box, if not way more.
It adds up in the long run, definitely worth grabbing those. I know I'd be hurting for cash if I didn't grab them every now and then, and I've only played solo.
That's one of the many reasons to always head to buddy plaza after quests. I also always make sure to spend points to get traps from the Argosy under rare items rather than wasting submarines for trap mats to craft. That way you can get more worthwhile items with the submarines
@@Agent_OB Rare Finds in the exchange items part of the Argosy. You can access these menus talking to Rondine in the Buddy Plaza or to the housekeeper cat in your room. Just check after every quest as the ores are not always available. Using the housekeeper between every quest is a good practice anyway as you can manage a number of things through him at once, such as the meowcenaries and the buddy dojo.
Tip: When youre about to do the run, try to eat for Harvester or Gatherer(not sure which) it speeds up the spawn time of the outcrops!! I was able to complete 3 full cycles in the 10 mins 😁
you know, the very first time i tried this i used a dango skill that said it reduced outcrop respawn time but somehow that skill has disappeared and i cant find it in the dango menu. anyone know why that might have happened?
Fun fact too for HBG and BG players: this route ALSO takes you past a lot of dragonfell berries, so if you put on botanist to 4 as well you'll also get a ton of dragon ammo!
for people trying to jump the chasm quicker, head down the little path left then jumo > A > B > LZ+RZ repeat and you can make it. In my tests going down the left path then jumping slightly more left than where GH did is quicker than having to drop and jump up. Happy Hunting y'all

@@thatguyintherain3168 to be fair, the skill system back then was kinda overly complicated haha. And made charms kind of overwhelming to farm for as well imo. AND I believe in 3U, there were drop tables for charms that you were assigned to your game when you start a new character. Which meant THAT god charm drop that you need for your perfect set might not even exist in your game. And you wouldn't even know to check unless you already knew drop tables were a thing before starting your new game. It'd be too late if, say, you were finally looking to make a good set in G rank and JUST learned about it then. ....no i'm not bitter lol There were NEGATIVE skills for fuck's sake... Ugh lol so yeahhh i definitely prefer World or Rise's iteration so much more.
Thank you for this guide and staying true to your no spoiler policy. I'm taking a lot of time with Rise, learning the maps and taking in the landscapes. Really appreciate your efforts! Now, just some minor details of things I found out: At 7:40, before you fast travel to the camp, you can turn around 180 and reach another outcrop further up in the cave. Should be reachable from your location. Also, to make it across the great gap at 8:06, hop on your Palamute, run south a few meters where the distance to the other side is smallest, run and jump with the doggo, hop off of it, A, B, ZL+X, A, B (maybe another ZL and ZR) and you should make it over without the need of 3 wire bugs. Just gives me a better feeling to make it across without landing on the ground first. :)

Literally been following you since 4U and it’s great to see you back. Your videos always give me joy. I’m sure you’re also super happy that Rise is a return to form.
I just tried this run for the first time and here's a couple of things I found that could help with the gap at 8:06: - In area 10, there's actually a wirebug you can get to clear the gap with three bugs (just make sure to aim directly for the island with the node, and aim as high as you can go when swinging). You can see it at 6:32. - There's another wirebug in 11 at 6:47. - If you do not have three wirebugs by the time you have to cross the gap, do not go straight over the gap. Instead, run counterclockwise around the gap until you are close enough to swing to the wall shown on the right at 8:08. From here, you can wallrun to the other side with a couple of wirebugs to swing to the next node.
32 Switch Axes, getting over Bone and ore tree over and over to get access to monsters subtrees (Like Zinogre or Almudron.), And using armor spheres... Yup, Rise is expensive

Hey Gaijin! First of all, I really appreciate this guide. I'm in the process of crafting every Charge Blade just because, and I wouldn't be able to afford it without this route. Second, to everyone using this route during endgame, I tried to optimize a build to make this process feel a bit more comfy so I'll share it here: Sword & Shield - one of the quickest weapons to sheath in case you accidentally attack for whatever reason Izuchi Helm S - can be any helm, but I used this one because it has 2 deco slots Kamura Garb S - Wirebug Whisperer and Wall Runner for longer durations for each action Ludroth Braces S - Marathon Runner to help stamina management Kamura Obi S - Wirebug Whisperer Anjanath Greaves S - Marathon Runner I have a charm with Wall Runner 2 and Muck Resistance 1 with a lvl 2 slot for a deco, but use what you have. Slot in Geology, Muck Resistance, and Botanist for a well rounded gathering set! Try it! Let me know if/how this could be further optimized!
Thank you for making this, I've altered it slightly when I do it. 6:18 after Dropping, turn around 180. What looks like a solid wall actually has a passage. Go through it. Turn left at junction, right at small bridge. Let go of run button as running makes you actually miss the automatic jump onto the bridge and costs more time. At the end, there's an outcrop at the right, then another outcrop when you drop down. Then wirebug up again. There's uroktors when you drop down and your palamute might attack them, thus not spawning beside you after you go back up. You'll want to run back first to the bridge before trying to mount palamute to go back again to continue the route. If you find yourself waiting for outcrops to respawn, adding this gives you something to do instead of waiting. 7:54 Found after repeated attempts, you can drop right at the outcrop if you slide a bit to the right instead. You can also wirebug towards the outcrop if you're off. It's faster than just dropping. 8:03 After getting that outcrop, there's a ledge you can slide down starting from that thunderbug. Slide through the length of the ledge until you fall off the end. This makes you jump a bit before falling. Wirebug forward when you're at the apex of that jump, lands you on the other side. Wirebug to higher area, there's an outcrop with a bush area as well. After that if you continue east, should be forward from where you're currently facing, you'll drop to water area and there's another outcrop there. I prefer this sliding and just one wirebug instead of going through the water, waiting for wirebug to refresh. Hope this helps.
Fun fact: if you have Evade Distance +3 you can hop the ravine near the end of the run only using two wirebugs! Also there's a Wirebug earlier in the run that lasts until that point if you wish to grab it too. I do have Wirebug Whisperer +3 so idk if it would last without
I use this route, however at the end instead of crossing the giant gap that needs 3 bugs, if u slide down the path ur on to the narrow spot and cross there, there is a node right by where u cross, then continue over to the one in ur video and continue to the last one after :)
Once you get used to the run you can get 3 runs in 10 minutes no issue. I was able to get 4 with the dango buff. This guide was very helpful and I appreciate your help to the community.

This is why Gaijin Hunter is one of the few video producers I check out. Most people make fluff, do poor edits, don't cut to the chase, and/or all of the above. GH gives you everything you need and adds little touches in parts that are important to see but would normally be dead air. If I had to teach a class on video guides and video editing, I'd use GH every time for examples.
7:12 THAT'S how you get into that little tail at the northeastern part of the map! I didn't see that opening at all. And I was even scanning around inside that little room, too. Between this and not knowing how to scale that one spot in the Frost Islands for so long, I been feelin' pretty dumb this week, haha.
"No way you're going to clear this opening with less than 3 wirebugs" Actually, you can. The only problems is that you have to rename your palumute "Yoshi." While playing around with it a bit, I did find out you can clear it with two wirebugs. What you have to do is first get on your doggo's back and run a bit closer to the area you're jumping to before leaping off. From there, jump off your dog's back and then perform the Wirebug jump (while also extending your time in the air with a midair jump or the move where you dangle off the wirebug) and you can make it. Capcom really did add in a feature where you can effectively get a bit more air time by tossing your doggo into the pit down below... I would say that's cruel, but our doggo is a ninja doggo, so it's fine. Mostly.
Or you can just walk a little alongside the cliff to the right to lessen the distance. Then you'll easily make the jump with two wire bugs. :) I did it multiple times in a row and yes, it is faster.
Three adjustments Id like to contribute here is at 6:40, as soon as you've collected that one, use one wirebug to scale the big cliff on the right and use the other bug to scale a raised rock platform up there and there is another ore vein right there. Second is take a gathering palico with you as they gather about 6-8 pieces for two rotations which is nice free bonus money. Finally, I didnt realise that the upsurge changed and so you have to cycle quests again. If you complete both runs within 10 mins (this is the cutoff point before the upsurge changes), complete mission and you'll have the ore upsurge still there. You've just got to do it in sets of two. (Im sure Gajin mentioned this but I skimmed the vid so heres a text version I guess) TY so much for this Gaijin! I always make all the armour pieces in the game as my ultimate goal and everything costs so much in Rise so this was perfect
It's funny to me that you didn't clear the quest for firelanters fast because you kept getting the rarer Wisplanters. It's the classic sense of, "I need this common drop but I keep getting gems/plates" from World.
In the volcano (topmost area over 11) is an extra node to mine. Just turn around before you fast travel to camp 2. Then look upwards and jump on that ledge. Even free might seeds there.
There's a fire lantern spot very close to the main camp right when the quest starts, just beyond it on the path leading around the palamute mountain. If you get this one, it is impossible to hit the other three near sub camp 1 and not finish the quest when you're turning over the upsurges.
I've done this run a few times with a timer to record some data, and I learned a few things! First, I found out that sometimes, the upsurge will last 15 minutes before it changes. This allows nearly 4 loops if you do the last one under 3 minutes, which might be possible with a really optimized route. Next, I learned that the Dango Harvester skill, gotten from the daily special “Raisin d’etre”, will speed up the mining outcrop respawn. It seemed to be about 3:10 between spawns, from what I could tell (and that's about as fast as I could do one full loop, so that worked out nicely). It might be uncommon to get both the correct dango and the mining upsurge, but I managed to get a run with about 4 and a half loops in 15 minutes, and it earned me 617,000z. Nice! The last bit I learned is a bit of optimization: the best place to drop off your ore between loops is definitely at the main camp after you finish each loop. Since you'll be waiting for them to respawn anyway, it doesn't waste any time. If you find yourself waiting a long time, there's plenty of little things you can grab on the way. Thanks to this video I've been able to farm money so much easier! I also found a nice combination of two sets of armor to help with Wirebugs! If you do the 3 pieces of Leather (Helm, Gloves and Pants) and also use the Kamura Chest and Belt you can get Geologist and Wirebug Whisperer. This helps increase the longevity of your 3rd Wirebug if you pick one of the various ones up on the route and makes things go by a lot faster. I've actually gone through so fast that I've had to wait at some periods for the nodes to respawn LOL Also don't forget to wall run if you need to! Leg day and a lot of other buffs are really good for this route for farming.
I am not sure if this is a glitch, but when I disconnected from online in the middle of the expedition... every time I complete it and come back it is still a mining upsurge. This is the fifth time in a row LOL. Y’all should try as well and let me know if that works! Turn off your screen and then just don’t reconnect online!
You don't have to disconnect. Coming back from an expedition doesn't rotate the locale info, only completing a quest does. That's why he suggests to do the rolly polly lanterns quest if you don't see mining outcrops. It would be nice if you could just start an expedition and then come back but at least the quest he shows is pretty fast. Happy hunting!
Absolutely wonderful video, thank you so much! I actually found a way to make even more zenny in one upsurge in anyone is interested: Everything is mainly be the same, although there are a few slight changes. The changes: 1. Wait for Dango Harvester to appear rather than a mining upsurge in the lava caverns, if both appear you are truly blessed. 2. If you only get dango harvester, go on a tour of lava caverns and eventually a mining upsurge will appear. You can do whatever before then, collect the notes, gather items, play or do something else while the game is on in the background, etc. Whenever the map changes check for an upsurge and if you're at the start of the camp or route immediately go forth, and if not, just go to main camp one you'll have plenty of time. 3. One small but important difference for this method is that there's actually a third mining node in the back of the volcano up on the wall. It's higher up to the left from the last spot shown in this video. Get this instead of going to sub-camp two, then go back to the main camp. When you get to the first node it should already be respawning so you'll save a lot of time and get more items easily. I got over 500,000 in one trip from this method, enjoy and happy hunting! P.S. You can also change armor and skills as needed when other upsurges appear using this method, so you'll get insane amounts of other items as you wait for the mining upsurge. And if you include honey harvester, there will be honey upsurges where you can get 5 honey at once. (One last thing) - The chainmail armor already comes with botanist 4 if you don't want to mess with decorations :)
If you change your mini map to detailed and tab over to gathering on the large map it'll show all the gathering spots on your mini, makes learning the route much easier.
On top of that if you manually select the nodes to track it’ll only show those

@@square7563 Game settings. Hub map type. It will essentially swap the L shoulder button function. So it will be zoomed it, then press L to zoom out. Whatever overlay you set in the map menu is what will show on the minimap.

Poor like in the old MH days?! We used to either run infinite Hermitaur spawn stages or speed Silver Rathalos and sell all the parts. S Rath in 3-4 mins and made 60-90k zenny depending on drops. The sad part was it took a while for us to realize how much we could make selling parts because we were always crafting.

I sold all my low rank materials and had 300,000 zenny. Going to likely do it again soon since I'm down to 30k zenny.
Me I farmed tons of gear and always was broke. I heavily relied on selling the decoration ore from the girl with the ship. Some of those decorations sell for 10k then in the buddy area behind the shrine I'd also climb the tree to the top and loot the cahoot nest every few missions and sometimes get silver eggs that sell for 10k. Finally selling a bunch of parts from the materials from monsters i was trying to get items like plates with a very small drop rate. It took me like 15 farms to get magnamalo plates and I had like 60 of every other material he had. In regards yep money seemed hard seeing that a full set of green gear in high rank for instance is 20k. 4k a piece of gear is not the worst but the weapons on the other hand if your collecting them all starts to go over 12k by red and green gear. Too easy to run out of money if your goal is collecting everything.

Extra Tip: If you get the "Dango Harvester" (Raisin d'etre dango) activation from the canteen it will decrease the time between node respawns - that way if you happen to make it through really quick there will be no need to wait on the respawn! More Zenny!
Edit: After using this canteen skill I ended up making a whopping 400k plus some, allowing me to do 3 full laps. Definitely utilize this!

There's a similar route on the Frost Islands to get loads of Carbalite and Gracium to sell:
From camp, go to the hill west of Area 5, then drop down into the Zamite pit for a node before travelling north along the top of Area 3. Cross the path on the west and use the Great Wirebug to jump to the point overlooking Area 6 before following the path north to Area 9, grabbing a node on the right of the path and one on the hill to the right of 9.
Climb the mountain at the back, looping behind to grab a hidden node. Straight behind you when you get that node is the one wall you can climb here, which you can climb up to the secret path at the back. Great Wirebug to the hole above Area 12, but make sure to wirebug across to grab the nodes on the far side before falling down. Hit the side room between 12 and 11 and the node in 11 before warping to Subcamp 2 and grabbing the node straight across from the camp, just above it and the node behind it before running down to the cave entrance to 12 to grab the final node (or skip this one for time).
I hope this helps some people, its hard to explain without showing and its definitely slower than this video, but it does work.

@@marselflex2254 switch your map yo show gathering points and go to the white deposit in the closed off bit that's filled with zamites between Area 4 and 5, then just follow the ore deposit trail that will inevitably lead you to area 9, it's nowhere near as complicated as it sounds.

Found myself having such a horrible time with having a reasonable amount of Zenny because I gave myself the goal of "Craft every Hunting Horn as I progress", got up to late High Rank now and it has been a bit too much of a chore trying to keep that up while also being able to afford armor. I did just a single run of this and that's enough Zenny to continue without worrying.

I like to bring an Insect Glaive with me on this route. The added jump, air dodge, and Silkbind move in the air gives great horizontal clearance so you don't have to run up the wall from the bottom of the pond after you travel to Sub Camp 2. I usually go from the Sub Camp, jump down like normal, and I like to go down the ramp a bit and use the Insect Glaive to jump across the whole gap just as where the left turn happens. If you go straight across, there's actually an extra outcrop on that first little plateau you can mine with minimal time loss, and with the dog you can just ride it back to where Gaijin showed as normal before you head to back to the Main Camp.
I can't get over "botanist" and "lava." Very helpful though!

Pro tip: if the first three don't get you all the items you need, head back to the main camp. There's a fourth thing near the camp, and a fifth on the riverbed just north of the main camp in case Gog REALLY cursed your luck.
Yup, hit the giant wirebug directly behind the main camp tent, snag the bitterbug and walk off the cliff and land straight on the flower.
Lol, should have checked comments. IMO run and grab it first, you're adding a minuscule amount of additional time & making the route more reliable. Getting screwed on the plants feels decently common.
Ah, the classic feeling of going from forgetting zenny exists at the end of a MH game, to being desperately broke all the time at the start of a new game...though this one seems to leave you broke even in the late game...
it really be like that in that weird middle phase of mh games where youre trying to get good sets and all the upgrades go from 2500 to 46000 but you havent hunted enough to not have to worry about the monies

Your guide helped me mine a TON of zenny on the caverns getting firestone etc. I did it twice and am at a comfortable zenny amount, and went back and did it a few more times to just get enough stock back for crafting and whatnot. Thanks for your guide, man! :)
Great video. Months ago, I found your video when I was a beginner and had no idea how to farm Zenny (or even play the game well lol). I have since probably run this circuit dozens of times, and I've made it a little personal game of mine to make this as optimized and fast as possible. I play on PC now and have a timer overlayed on my UI so I can time myself and turn it into a race. You mentioned a few times in your video about possibly clearing some of the jumps without having to wall climb. I found a way to do that. Create an equipment loadout with geologist 3 and evade extender 3. On the long jumps near sub-camp two, get a running start on your palamute, jump while on the palamute, jump off the palamute at the peak of your arc, and then wirebug and evade mid-air for maximum distance across the two huge jumps at the end of the circuit. Doing this, you can clear both canyons with just two wirebugs and no wall climbing. If this is difficult, there are 2 wirebugs on the route that you can pick up on the circuit without losing time and a third that will lose you about 1.5 seconds on the region 5 plateau before dropping into the canyon. With 3 wirebugs and evade extender, clearing these canyons without climbing is a piece of cake (and you feel like spiderman when doing it lol).
Here's another way to get faster - when you go down the canyon near the beginning of the circuit, you can leap off your palamute before hitting one of the ledges near the bottom and water area, and then use your wirebug with mid-air evade to leap all the way over to that first ore outcrop sitting in the water. It's quite tricky and far, but you can do it with evade extender. That's much faster than staying on the palamute and hitting ledges on the way down and taking the time to turn your palamute around. I think the Titanic could probably make tighter turns than a Monster Hunter Rise palamute, but that's another topic.
You also only need to visit the tent once at the end of your second circuit to prevent yourself from hitting the item limits in your inventory.
When you get really fast, you end up waiting several seconds for that first mining outcrop to reappear. So, I modified my equipment loadout to max out the botanist skill and started using that spare time to gather bones, honey, plants, and insects along the way without the opportunity cost of any valuable ore or having to sit around and wait for the first ore outcrop to appear each time. I found I can usually complete an optional quest or two this way while farming zenny on this route.
I might someday make a little video showing these optimizations, giving you full credit for the original idea and circuit, of course. Thanks again. Cheers.
Just a special extra tip, you can skip the cutscene that plays at the end of a quest by hanging from your wirebug.

Just did a run and found a way to skip that big gap without a third wirebug. Basically, before jumping you go a little to the left and follow the path. Your character will start sliding instead of running. That's when you want to jump off, to use the boost the sliding provides. That boost is enough to make it across with two wirebugs.
This. You can also grab the plants (might seed!) and thunderbugs on the slide down, which is a bonus. The gap is smaller as well so no need third bug.
However, there *are* a couple of wirebugs on the way previously if you path correctly that might still be on you when you get to the gap.
Fun tip to save a bit more time in the route: You can run on the walls without wirebugging when you jump off palamute. Just run with the palamute and jump with it then jump off the palamute towards the wall. ZR -> B

Two things I noticed while running this route myself: When you're running towards the vine wall that leads to that small chamber in the back of the volcano (where you jump off the dog and crawl in), you can actually pick up a wirebug there shortly before the vines.
Second: After jumping down from the subcamp, if you slide down the path/ridge to the right of the mining node it brings you closer to the platform where the mining nodes are and you can jump over with two wirebugs easily.
ANOTHER WAY TO GET SOME EASY ZENNY (but certainly not as much): Check the Argosy every run! I know I wasn't doing it at the beginning, but she can have rare finds that are the rocks that sell for 1k-10k zenny a piece. It's not much but if you do it in between the outcrop upsurge checking, you might end up with a little extra cash!
Good call. These ores cost only 50 points (one of them is Loc Lac Ore, the other I can't remember how it's called) and I started hoarding each and every one she sells as soon as they appeared. I'm still at Village 5/HR 2 so not strapping for cash, but once the need arises, I'll have at least some 20k sitting on my box, if not way more.
It adds up in the long run, definitely worth grabbing those. I know I'd be hurting for cash if I didn't grab them every now and then, and I've only played solo.
That's one of the many reasons to always head to buddy plaza after quests. I also always make sure to spend points to get traps from the Argosy under rare items rather than wasting submarines for trap mats to craft. That way you can get more worthwhile items with the submarines

@@Agent_OB Rare Finds in the exchange items part of the Argosy. You can access these menus talking to Rondine in the Buddy Plaza or to the housekeeper cat in your room. Just check after every quest as the ores are not always available. Using the housekeeper between every quest is a good practice anyway as you can manage a number of things through him at once, such as the meowcenaries and the buddy dojo.
Tip: When youre about to do the run, try to eat for Harvester or Gatherer(not sure which) it speeds up the spawn time of the outcrops!! I was able to complete 3 full cycles in the 10 mins 😁

you know, the very first time i tried this i used a dango skill that said it reduced outcrop respawn time but somehow that skill has disappeared and i cant find it in the dango menu. anyone know why that might have happened?

for people trying to jump the chasm quicker, head down the little path left then jumo > A > B > LZ+RZ repeat and you can make it. In my tests going down the left path then jumping slightly more left than where GH did is quicker than having to drop and jump up. Happy Hunting y'all

@@thatguyintherain3168 to be fair, the skill system back then was kinda overly complicated haha. And made charms kind of overwhelming to farm for as well imo.
AND I believe in 3U, there were drop tables for charms that you were assigned to your game when you start a new character. Which meant THAT god charm drop that you need for your perfect set might not even exist in your game. And you wouldn't even know to check unless you already knew drop tables were a thing before starting your new game. It'd be too late if, say, you were finally looking to make a good set in G rank and JUST learned about it then.

Now, just some minor details of things I found out:
At 7:40, before you fast travel to the camp, you can turn around 180 and reach another outcrop further up in the cave. Should be reachable from your location.
Also, to make it across the great gap at 8:06, hop on your Palamute, run south a few meters where the distance to the other side is smallest, run and jump with the doggo, hop off of it, A, B, ZL+X, A, B (maybe another ZL and ZR) and you should make it over without the need of 3 wire bugs. Just gives me a better feeling to make it across without landing on the ground first. :)

I just tried this run for the first time and here's a couple of things I found that could help with the gap at 8:06:
- In area 10, there's actually a wirebug you can get to clear the gap with three bugs (just make sure to aim directly for the island with the node, and aim as high as you can go when swinging). You can see it at 6:32.
- There's another wirebug in 11 at 6:47.
- If you do not have three wirebugs by the time you have to cross the gap, do not go straight over the gap. Instead, run counterclockwise around the gap until you are close enough to swing to the wall shown on the right at 8:08. From here, you can wallrun to the other side with a couple of wirebugs to swing to the next node.
Actaully was going to post this myself. Did a much nicer write up so thumbs up to you.

Hey Gaijin! First of all, I really appreciate this guide. I'm in the process of crafting every Charge Blade just because, and I wouldn't be able to afford it without this route.
Second, to everyone using this route during endgame, I tried to optimize a build to make this process feel a bit more comfy so I'll share it here:
Sword & Shield - one of the quickest weapons to sheath in case you accidentally attack for whatever reason
Izuchi Helm S - can be any helm, but I used this one because it has 2 deco slots
Kamura Garb S - Wirebug Whisperer and Wall Runner for longer durations for each action
Ludroth Braces S - Marathon Runner to help stamina management
Kamura Obi S - Wirebug Whisperer
Anjanath Greaves S - Marathon Runner
I have a charm with Wall Runner 2 and Muck Resistance 1 with a lvl 2 slot for a deco, but use what you have.

6:18 after Dropping, turn around 180. What looks like a solid wall actually has a passage. Go through it. Turn left at junction, right at small bridge. Let go of run button as running makes you actually miss the automatic jump onto the bridge and costs more time. At the end, there's an outcrop at the right, then another outcrop when you drop down. Then wirebug up again. There's uroktors when you drop down and your palamute might attack them, thus not spawning beside you after you go back up. You'll want to run back first to the bridge before trying to mount palamute to go back again to continue the route. If you find yourself waiting for outcrops to respawn, adding this gives you something to do instead of waiting.
7:54 Found after repeated attempts, you can drop right at the outcrop if you slide a bit to the right instead. You can also wirebug towards the outcrop if you're off. It's faster than just dropping.
8:03 After getting that outcrop, there's a ledge you can slide down starting from that thunderbug. Slide through the length of the ledge until you fall off the end. This makes you jump a bit before falling. Wirebug forward when you're at the apex of that jump, lands you on the other side. Wirebug to higher area, there's an outcrop with a bush area as well. After that if you continue east, should be forward from where you're currently facing, you'll drop to water area and there's another outcrop there. I prefer this sliding and just one wirebug instead of going through the water, waiting for wirebug to refresh.

Fun fact: if you have Evade Distance +3 you can hop the ravine near the end of the run only using two wirebugs! Also there's a Wirebug earlier in the run that lasts until that point if you wish to grab it too. I do have Wirebug Whisperer +3 so idk if it would last without

I use this route, however at the end instead of crossing the giant gap that needs 3 bugs, if u slide down the path ur on to the narrow spot and cross there, there is a node right by where u cross, then continue over to the one in ur video and continue to the last one after :)
Once you get used to the run you can get 3 runs in 10 minutes no issue. I was able to get 4 with the dango buff. This guide was very helpful and I appreciate your help to the community.

This is why Gaijin Hunter is one of the few video producers I check out. Most people make fluff, do poor edits, don't cut to the chase, and/or all of the above. GH gives you everything you need and adds little touches in parts that are important to see but would normally be dead air. If I had to teach a class on video guides and video editing, I'd use GH every time for examples.

7:12 THAT'S how you get into that little tail at the northeastern part of the map! I didn't see that opening at all. And I was even scanning around inside that little room, too. Between this and not knowing how to scale that one spot in the Frost Islands for so long, I been feelin' pretty dumb this week, haha.

Actually, you can. The only problems is that you have to rename your palumute "Yoshi."
While playing around with it a bit, I did find out you can clear it with two wirebugs. What you have to do is first get on your doggo's back and run a bit closer to the area you're jumping to before leaping off. From there, jump off your dog's back and then perform the Wirebug jump (while also extending your time in the air with a midair jump or the move where you dangle off the wirebug) and you can make it.
Capcom really did add in a feature where you can effectively get a bit more air time by tossing your doggo into the pit down below... I would say that's cruel, but our doggo is a ninja doggo, so it's fine. Mostly.

Or you can just walk a little alongside the cliff to the right to lessen the distance. Then you'll easily make the jump with two wire bugs. :)
I did it multiple times in a row and yes, it is faster.
Three adjustments Id like to contribute here is at 6:40, as soon as you've collected that one, use one wirebug to scale the big cliff on the right and use the other bug to scale a raised rock platform up there and there is another ore vein right there.
Second is take a gathering palico with you as they gather about 6-8 pieces for two rotations which is nice free bonus money.
Finally, I didnt realise that the upsurge changed and so you have to cycle quests again. If you complete both runs within 10 mins (this is the cutoff point before the upsurge changes), complete mission and you'll have the ore upsurge still there. You've just got to do it in sets of two. (Im sure Gajin mentioned this but I skimmed the vid so heres a text version I guess)

In the volcano (topmost area over 11) is an extra node to mine. Just turn around before you fast travel to camp 2. Then look upwards and jump on that ledge. Even free might seeds there.

There's a fire lantern spot very close to the main camp right when the quest starts, just beyond it on the path leading around the palamute mountain. If you get this one, it is impossible to hit the other three near sub camp 1 and not finish the quest when you're turning over the upsurges.

I've done this run a few times with a timer to record some data, and I learned a few things!
First, I found out that sometimes, the upsurge will last 15 minutes before it changes. This allows nearly 4 loops if you do the last one under 3 minutes, which might be possible with a really optimized route.
Next, I learned that the Dango Harvester skill, gotten from the daily special “Raisin d’etre”, will speed up the mining outcrop respawn. It seemed to be about 3:10 between spawns, from what I could tell (and that's about as fast as I could do one full loop, so that worked out nicely). It might be uncommon to get both the correct dango and the mining upsurge, but I managed to get a run with about 4 and a half loops in 15 minutes, and it earned me 617,000z. Nice!
The last bit I learned is a bit of optimization: the best place to drop off your ore between loops is definitely at the main camp after you finish each loop. Since you'll be waiting for them to respawn anyway, it doesn't waste any time. If you find yourself waiting a long time, there's plenty of little things you can grab on the way.

Use dango tickets for a higher chance of proccing it. Get tixets by doing Motley Mix with raw meat and talking to the outdoors chef.

Thanks to this video I've been able to farm money so much easier! I also found a nice combination of two sets of armor to help with Wirebugs! If you do the 3 pieces of Leather (Helm, Gloves and Pants) and also use the Kamura Chest and Belt you can get Geologist and Wirebug Whisperer. This helps increase the longevity of your 3rd Wirebug if you pick one of the various ones up on the route and makes things go by a lot faster. I've actually gone through so fast that I've had to wait at some periods for the nodes to respawn LOL
Also don't forget to wall run if you need to! Leg day and a lot of other buffs are really good for this route for farming.

I am not sure if this is a glitch, but when I disconnected from online in the middle of the expedition... every time I complete it and come back it is still a mining upsurge. This is the fifth time in a row LOL. Y’all should try as well and let me know if that works! Turn off your screen and then just don’t reconnect online!
You don't have to disconnect. Coming back from an expedition doesn't rotate the locale info, only completing a quest does. That's why he suggests to do the rolly polly lanterns quest if you don't see mining outcrops. It would be nice if you could just start an expedition and then come back but at least the quest he shows is pretty fast. Happy hunting!

Everything is mainly be the same, although there are a few slight changes.
The changes:
1. Wait for Dango Harvester to appear rather than a mining upsurge in the lava caverns, if both appear you are truly blessed.
2. If you only get dango harvester, go on a tour of lava caverns and eventually a mining upsurge will appear. You can do whatever before then, collect the notes, gather items, play or do something else while the game is on in the background, etc. Whenever the map changes check for an upsurge and if you're at the start of the camp or route immediately go forth, and if not, just go to main camp one you'll have plenty of time.
3. One small but important difference for this method is that there's actually a third mining node in the back of the volcano up on the wall. It's higher up to the left from the last spot shown in this video. Get this instead of going to sub-camp two, then go back to the main camp. When you get to the first node it should already be respawning so you'll save a lot of time and get more items easily.
I got over 500,000 in one trip from this method, enjoy and happy hunting!
P.S. You can also change armor and skills as needed when other upsurges appear using this method, so you'll get insane amounts of other items as you wait for the mining upsurge. And if you include honey harvester, there will be honey upsurges where you can get 5 honey at once.
(One last thing) - The chainmail armor already comes with botanist 4 if you don't want to mess with decorations :)
