Best movie I’ve seen in years.. Once you see it You can’t stop thinking about it. And the sound design and practical facts are amazing and obviously the message is amazing.
I Had Not Been to a Theater since 2009, and My Wife’s Girlfriend had seen this Film a couple of days ago. AND SAID IT WAS A WILD RIDE! I’m a Big Fan of Body Horror! Then reading some of these Comments I said , this is for Me! And we went to see it! Great camera Work, Great Acting, Brilliant Editing, it was completely OVER THE TOP!! Was way more than I EXPECTED!! Iv seen A lot of Body Horror Films dating back to the70s! And this one Took it to A WHOLE NEW LEVEL! GO SEE IT! Now! And Be Sure To Fasten YOUR SEATBELT!
I was genuinely moved by this movie in so many ways. I laughed, gasped, cried, and cringed. The work put in by DM, MQ, and CF lead to this excellent film that uses the genre to tell a story about such human themes, while still retaining its roots to just be an awesome fucking horror film. It's a great time to be a (horror) film fan
Beauty is nothing but flesh and blood... The director sprayed blood onto the audience who love to watch beautiful and perfect figure models... Fashion Industry, entertainment industry is operating on flesh and blood of models
The ending didn't had to go to that extend of horror. She should just ended the experience with the termination syringe and go back to normal. They completely threw away elizabeth's old friend whom had the potential to be part of her other half that will always make her happy (good ending). What a waste of an ending like that.
@@misterrandom888that’s literally the point tho, she was so distorted of her own image and what she looks like bc of the fame and beauty industries that she felt she could only be worthy of her life if she was ‘better, younger, and the more beautiful’ version of herself everything around her became a reminder of what she used to be how she used to look and what she now has the ability to be again the movie was never going to have a good ending, even from the start it was about how she relied on feeling beautiful and loved to feel worth anything
this was the most horrible movie I have ever seen in my entire life! don't watch it guys, it's gruesome and grotesque. I was HAUNTED by the monster and old hag images for days, and still am honestly. this is definitely NOT a movie I would recommend to anyone and I used to be a horror fan! it actually gave me depression the day I watched it, I couldn't get it out of my head.... although it's a very original film (they way it's filmed and constructed) it's not worth it trust me....your mental and emotional health is more important than your curiosity

i cant believe ppl actually talk good about this movie, you all must be paid or something 100% i just watched this, what a waste of time and money she transforms into literally a monster, this says it all
I was curious so i watched it. The ending didn't had to go to that extend of horror. She should just ended the experience with the termination syringe and go back to normal. the fact that you just boil it down to ‘she turns into a monster’ just means you didn’t understand the meaning of the story, it’s not a bad movie you just didn’t get it and that’s okay LOL
Trailer is excellent! The movie starts out like ‘soft porn’, morphs into Sci-Fi, and ends as a gore/slasher flick. It was different from anything that I have ever watched and will probably have to watch it again to really get an understanding of everything that is being portrayed. Negative feedback… too much unnecessary nudity/sexualization, a little over the top with the gore, and a bit longer than it needs to be to get the point across. The ending is out of touch with reality. However, I think that was the whole point of the movie. Positives… this movie really makes you think about what is ‘important’. Are looks and vanity really worth all the horrific things that women do to themselves? Conclusion… Vanity/looks are not ‘everything’, and I prefer to be a ‘fat jellyfish’!
It was a both great and horrible year for horror movies, we got some bangers like The substance, Longlegs, Late night with the Devil but also some TRASH
Watching the "new" trailer to a movie I've seen in theatres 3 times now and have already bought digitally because it is THAT GOOD.
Same I've seen the movie 3 times but these trailers hit so perfectly!
For real. This movie is special
Just watched it and already rewatching! I keep coming back for the trailers too. It is THAT GOOD!
You have got to be mentally sick…

Just watched The Substance and it was very good, the ending scene was very disturbing and the visualy effects were amazing.

It still lingers in my head.
Same question

@@misterrandom888 me too.. i didnt like it!
Absolutely worth a watch.
Is it reasonable to sell this movie with this trailer? Like... no indication that it's "body horror" at all.
This trailer really gives you no idea what the movie is even about
Quero muito assistir, também quero acreditar que é um dos melhores filmes do ano
The story is real
But more horrific and thought provoking way
The story is real? Must be based on your mom then
