Well there have been so many new cosmetic surgeries and procedures that have been developed since that time to aid in the unrealistic beauty expectations placed upon women.
I think a lot of this can be attributed to our perspective, too. We were kids (or not born yet) when Golden Girls came out, so we saw them as old ladies, as they all looked like our grandmas or great grandmas at the time. If you look at younger Betty White, say from the Mary Tyler Moore show, she doesn't look much different from how she looks in Golden Girls. She has the same hairstyle even. Demi was great in the film. Great message in the film also. Very cool the way it was delivered. Also, Dennis Quaid was fantastic. I can't imagine Ray Liotta playing it. RIP.
I smell Oscar nom's for her and this film! It's shocking, lurid, disgusting, frightening, sexy and disturbing all in one go... A must see movie if there ever is one!
Absolutely incredible performance, stunning cinematography, excruciatingly beautiful makeup and practical effects… holy moly, what a movie
Saw this last night and can’t stop thinking about it. I wanted to walk out but couldn’t stop watching it.
Right! My hubby turned away from the last 30 minutes. Lol!!
Saw a late night showing with a full theater, everybody loved it!
Give her every bunch of flowers right now.
This movie bringing people to the theater spreads VOLUMES!! Two female leads and a female director/writer in the breakout HORROR FILM of the year like this is INCREDIBLE!!! 😮❤👏
This is a Body Horror film, so if you are into that, you'll love it.
I love her,
I’ve always loved her and it’s good to see her putting herself out there like this. Crazy movie. Not for everyone, but one heck of a performance.
I saw it by myself and the thing that kept being in my mind was how even more amazing it would be to see it in theaters because of the asmr ish powerful sound and the set designs everything! I would recommend it to watch it on theaters
She was fantastic in this movie. I hope that there is some recognition during awards season for her.
Demi deserves an Oscar because her performance was jaw dropping
Funny that she mentions crawling around like a hunchback because she was Esemerelda in Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame.
OMG!! good catch
@@joshuah9109 Yea and in Ghost she starred with two Disney actors like herself.
Her performance was incredible and she's looking prettier than ever now -- which is also a powerful statement on aging that goes along well with the movie.
Demi seems never afraid to take risks in movie roles. Sometimes it pays off sometimes it doesn't. So far lots of buzz for this film
She was fantastic. The whole cast was fantastic. Stellar, stunning movie, deftly directed & acted
I remember when she was very young on General Hospital. I love you Demi!💙🫂
Jackie Templeton!
@@Yikes702 yea!!!🤣
@@KOOLBadger I remember the first time I saw her, I was mystified by her voice. It was very gravelly which I thought was so cool. It's not like that anymore, but I thought she was cool. And I didn't even watch ABC soaps. Lol. I've always watched CBS soaps, but tuned into the occasional episode of GH. Haha
@@Yikes702 I have a gravelly voice.🤭
Demi hasn't lost a single step yet! LOVE HER!!🥰😍
Yeah who knew Synthetic Marijuana was the fountain of youth.
Who'd know that synthetic marijuana is the fountain of youth
seriously she was the perfect person to play in story about aging cuz she’s aging beautifully. from far away she seems immortal
It’s actually so generous that Demi is willing to be a real godmother to Mike Faist & Sophie Wilde. If I were them, I’d really appreciate that & take full advantage
That made me tear up. She has a beautiful soul.
I really like her. Good to see her doing good
This move is a MASTERPIECE. Run to see it.
Every now and then a film comes along which is refreshingly unque. A huge swing was taken with this movie and they've knocked it out of the park. Brilliantly written, directed and the acting is superb. Have never seen Demi Moore allow herself to be so exposed and vulnerable. She is still amazing.
Demi Moore was brilliant in Margin Call
Oooh she was!!!
You’re right!! Demi Moore is great in most things
And in Mr Brooks with Kevin Costner & William Hurt.
Totally agree, and a great film.
And in ‘If these walls could talk’. Great performance!
A wild ride. Spectacular work by both leading actresses. It’s also really really funny.
I saw it & It's SO BEYOND phenomenal. If she Doesn't win the Oscar for best actress & the other girl for supporting actress I'll be shocked especially Demi it has to be a WIN!!!!! Xxo
The Oscars HATE horror.
Margaret Qualley
just saw The Substance today. It's wild! Some of the best makleup, sound and editing I've seen. A huge achievement, and Demi Moore is absolutely amazing. The writer/director's previous film Revenge is also awesome!
This woman is a godess
Goddess' would not smoke synthetic marijuana. A man made drug that literal homeless people use
@@drunkpaulocosta That's a whole lot of dumb for two sentences.
How do you know what a goddess would or wouldn't do?
Almost every single drug in use today is man made so...
What is a non-literal homeless person?
Are you saying only the homeless use synthetic marijuana?
Are you implying that certain drugs are only okay for certain people?
Are you capable of providing a rational response or will you just whine that I'm being mean?
@@drunkpaulocosta she would if she wanted to
🥴 uh.
Demi Moore deserves an Oscar for this performance. It was such an exhilarating experience!
For anyone that hasn't seen this movie, don't wait for digital releases, go watch it in the theater. Watching with other people enhances the entire experience, I promise.
she looks incredible, she's so gorgeous
Just watched the movie and it was amazing. Now to binge Demi interviews
What a freaking disturbing movie. Demi was amazing!
Thoughtful questions and an easy conversation! Sounds like a badass film - can't wait to see it. Go Demi!
Wow! A new clip from the film! Can’t wait for the 20th!
She deserves every price available for her performance in this movie! Give her an Oscar! At least!!!
I watch a ton of horror movies, gory films, even own a few banned/extreme movies like Serbian Film or Salo 120 Days of Sodom... the Substance might be now my favorite horror movie of all time 😮 the scariest horror movie 😢 and a top 10 favorite movie of all time ❤
Congratulations 💚 to everyone in this movie!
She needs to be nominated for an Oscar for this movie !
This movie was unhinged and I loved it. She should get a nomination for it :)
Demi Moore deserves an Oscar for this role. She did a fantastic job. What a gorgeous woman and a marvellous actress.
Can't wait to see the movie..and Demi is so beautiful at 61...wow❤
she is 61 😮😮😮😮 she probably has access to a real life substance there is no way
Just watched it. It is insane!! In a good way.
Watched this last night and my mind is permanently warped, loved it!
Hear Demi is incredible in the movie- can't wait to see it!
Finally got to watch it in the cinema 2 days ago and I’m STILL obsessed with it!

Donnie's post debate bathroom break.
“It is an intimate experience of how one behaves when one is alone;” 💯
That’s an apt description, along with the other theme of our inhumanity to ourselves, and obsession with youth and beauty and weighing our importance based upon these highly coveted feminine attributes: much of this movie, to me, is also about separation from others (especially as you age) and loneliness.
Don't forget about St. Elmos Fire and One Crazy Summer!
One Crazy Summer was my movie. I had been looking for that movie for years. Couldn’t find it on streaming. Im going to try to look for it again.
I choose to forget about St. Elmo's Fire!😉
@@shawnuel You mean you don't find Rob Lowe miming saxophone playing charming?😂
@@vickiep4217 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ya know, it is actually funny how l totally love Rob Lowe now but couldn’t stand him back in the day!
Cool story... I personally think that role where she played the Synthetic Marijuana and Whippet junkie who ruined their career by never taking accountability for it and ran into hiding until people stopped gossiping.
That was possibly her magnum opus IMO. Can't remember it name but it also had that Bruce Willis guy in it. He played the father of her kids
This film speaks a lot about the worth of self appreciation and not letting others opinions of your physical essence hinder your perception of yourself in a negative light!!
She was amazing!!!
Her hair is gorgeous 😍 ❤ so sleek, so shiny and dark as hell!
i am soooooooo in love with this AMAZING ACTRESS
Demi Moore looks amazing and very confident. ♥️
We love demi moore and seth meyers
She gives an absolutely fearless performance in this. Absolutely Oscar-worthy!
That was harder to watch than any Saw movie.
I haven't felt this way since Requiem for a Dream
I wish this was longer! It was very interesting
