***** Less chance of scratching a coin if there's a spill. I've also learned that small holes do more damage to the roots & leaves small dead spots in the lawn & the bigger plugs help prevent this. Most hunters aren't aware of this because they never go back out to look at a place the next day after hunting it. Thanks for watching!
That spot looks like a lot of fun digging. Now you know what it was like to detect in the 70's when every spot was like that, when silver was still abundant. Good luck with that location and keep milking it as much as possible till it gets demo'ed. Nice vid GL&HH!!!!
Yes it was an amazing day, and a great hunt. That Honey Hole was sweet. Our best hunt at Our Honey hole, I guess our record still stands, #39 Silvers (one Day). You and Tommy do very well...your a team hard to beat.
The relic you found is a civil war era tent rope tightener. The where used until about 1920, but could have been used long after that. If there was a tent there at one time it may explain why you found so many old coins. We have found them alot in old camp and fair grounds.
I know Tommy was researching it but not sure if he's returned it yet! I did get a return on a 1964 class ring if you watch some of the newer videos! Appreciate you watching!
Enjoyed the video! Do you use different metal detectors for different detecting sites? I watched a more recent video of yours and you were using an orange pokey thingy directly in the hole dirt pile you’d turned over but in this video it is a black one? Do some only work better in certain types of soil or a wet day versus a hot dry day? This is so interesting. Do you have or recommend a book about metal detecting? Thank you again. Oh, I just some feedback... I enjoyed the more recent video where you cleaned up what you found and showed both sides and put it in the video right after the find. Maybe also include a verbal comment at the beginning of the video that you need to get permission from the owner or if it’s city property you need a permit or when you don’t. Definitely a great learning video! Keep up the good work! Subscribed. 👍🏻
Heck of a hunt ..... and that voice sounds so familiar ...... 88SCHP??? Can fill in the blanks on one item ..... at 19:01 the brass item you have is a 1905 US Army tent rope lightener. I pulled one recently, so I just learned of them myself. Keep these videos coming my good sir!
Yes ... a well known South Carolina hunter ... and his father often in competition with each other. 88schwyptrlcar is the channel. They have as much as you sound like you are having!!
Can you please share how you clean your finds? I hear you mention tumbling occasionally. What substance do you use for tumbling? I'm also in Southcakalaky! 😁 Thanks!
I use two primarily, both are the same brand. Here is a link to both. www.bigboyshobbies.net/sampson-digging-t-handle www.bigboyshobbies.net/lesche-hand-digger-with-sheath
What a wonderful day, even if it was wet. I hope Tommy tried to return the hold class ring to its owner. From 1967 the owner would be 71 or 72. I know because that was my class. The school name is own it and letters if the owners’s names.
the long piece with the hole in it, is a tent rope tensioner, and I believe they can date back to pre civil war. Nice hunt...if Tommy can't make it one day, just call me, and I'll rush right over from Texas. GL&HH
This got flagged as spam for some reason so sorry that I'm just now seeing it! Appreciate the info on the tent rope tensioner, haha you're welcome to come down for a hunt but those type permissions are few & far between! HH!
Bruce Y My buddy Tommy found it but it came in a 65. I know that's depressing to hear because people normally pass a 65 over as a trash signal. I know when I was swinging the ATP I would have passed it up. I also dug a Citadel class ring, it was a recovery but it hit close to a dime. Most gold on the ATP comes in around 50-60 on the VDI but smaller gold items will come up in the 40s & larger ones 60s & maybe even low 70s. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!!!
I have two of those golf club buttons, dug three years apart in different places, the first relic is a rope tensioner probably pretty old, they go back to the civil War
Good stuff and congrats on the finds. Just a little constructive criticism ,Why are your holes so big? They are like huge dude. I have been metal detecting for a couple years now and my hole is about 3 inches round max. Hey cheers.
Holly crap! That was amazing. I'm packing my bags. 😜 Great video guys. Between this and your beach finds your having one hell of a summer. Love the tshirt btw. I want one. How much?
MentalMetal Haha, thanks for watching it. We've been very fortunate this year without a doubt. I will work on ordering some more shirts, I have a few people wanting them. Once I get some ordered I'll place them on my website for sale. What size you wear?
I just started watching the detecting videos. I have really enjoyed your vids thus far. BTW, the choir piece is probably from a highschool letterman's jacket. - Good luck on your future hunts.
Thanks for watching! You can get one at the link below, these are filled by a 3rd party so please allow a couple extra days for print! www.digthatbeep.com/collections/dtb-merchandise
In my short ALMOST 4 years HUNTING... I had a 22 SILVER ONE DAY HUNT ( year #2 in a 1 day hunt), with my Garrett ace 400... And my first year Garrett ace 350 I found 9 SILVER in a one day hunt (found a 10k gold ring as well)... My BETTER DETECTOR SIMPLEX. . I've found ONLY 4 silver in a hunt in a 1 day hunt (I have 13 oz of SILVER so far in 2021... HAVEN'T hunted as much either).. It's all about permissions and unhunted PLACES

What a haul.! I didn't see any comments of being able to return the class ring.?
I don't think Tommy was able to track down the owners that I'm aware of.

intruder220 Awesome, thanks for that information as I was clueless. Thanks for watching!
+intruder220 glad to know what what that tube thing is... i have dug a few of them and wondered what it is
Boy Scouts used them for a long time too
Enjoyed your finds. Thanks for sharing. What is a Rosy?
We refer to a Roosevelt dime that's silver as a Rosie! They were minted as 90% silver from 1946-1964! Thanks for watching!
Great hunt at a sweet spot!!!!
Detecting Chicago Thanks!
great vid well done, the red ally thing is a part of a old school bmx pedal, I think.
hsvgash Thanks for watching, I appreciate the info!!!
I want the dog tag ! Haha
:) Cool relic!
Did you do any research on the class ring to see if it could be returned to the owner or a family member?
I know Tommy was researching it but not sure if he's returned it yet! I did get a return on a 1964 class ring if you watch some of the newer videos! Appreciate you watching!
Do you know where I can get a low budget beginner metal detector? I just want to do some around the property.
That bent ring. I have picked up something heavy and bent a ring. My mom has too.

My SIMPLEX SNIPER COIL... I can't go back or use ANYTHING ELSE.. DEPTH and everything.. IT'S SO AMAIZING AND SO SIMPLE
You probably know this by now, as this video is a few years old. But the item in the wrap up that you were unsure of was a tent rope tensioner.
Back at 8:17 or :20 looked like you left a penny in the hole. GL and HH
+Allen allenKoellner It looks a bit small for a coin but you never know! Thanks for watching!
XD so cool!
+Rachel Vela Thanks, glad you liked it!
What an amazing place and hunt!!! Sad that it’s getting torn down to be a parking lot!!!
This place was incredible, thanks for watching! It is sad but thankfully we got the best of it!
