The third and final (for now) part will be out in a couple of weeks. (Parts 2 & 3 were originally going to be one video so they got close to finished at about the same time.) After that, I have three more on other topics in linguistics (including the Voynich Manuscript) in different stages of production which will come out faster than these have, now that these monsters are out of the way.

the "flags" of hebrew can be generalized to the concept of serifs in general, which are meant to empasize stroke ends

actually there is no upper lower cases in Greek or Latin (or any other) before Charlemagne decided that it would be prettier. thus all Roman inscriptions or old Greek Bible is like "IVLIVS CAESAR" ( U J W Y also unknown).
BUT - there were cursive and non-cursive one for walls another for papyri or pergament (λαμβδα ΛΑΜΒΔΑ)

I wonder how cursive Hebrew fits in between the Aramaic script and Arabic script. Is it a step in the progression? Or a completely different path the same letters took?
great video as always, looking forward to the future ones

cursive yiddish. Consult Ada Yardeni's book, many, many cursive versions of Hebrew have been developed over the ages; the yiddish one happened to win over in lsrаеI
