I am being serious, for a single person with no budget it is harder to make a dark souls animated series than a full team of experienced developers with a massive budget and producers to back them up.
I was a little upset when I found him, the progression of extreme jolly optimism to him losing his mind was pretty good, but idk how it would be sad. I thought Lucatiel or any of the 3 Catarina people across the series had sadder storylines.
I cried when I came to grown Sif after saving him as a puppy. And he regognized me. After hundreds of years... And he had to attack me, because he didn't want to let me go into the abyss. Because he remember what the abyss did to his master. It worse than death. So, it's the sadest story

That friend of yours has no consideration for the beauty of Dark Souls or your experience of it :(. The moment I met with our dear Sunbro in Izalith and realised as he was coming to attack me that I had to kill him was one of the most memorable moments in all gaming for me.
We did everything my boyfriend and me on our playthroughs together to keep him until the end. I soloed Gwyn with Solaire, it felt awesome! Fighting with Solaire I mean, Gwyn I just killed him in two minutes XD
Honestly, the tragedy of endgame could've been played up a bit more. I watched Laurentius, Solaire and Sigmeyer all die in the same day. I was numb with grief when I fought Gwyn and that was gloriously unique. Good of ya to finish the project, though; GG indeed.
I felt the this series peaked in Episode 1. The first part was all about the experiences an actual player goes through when playing the game then after that the tone of the series shifted and it lost its appeal imo. The episodes became shorter and more skit-like.

It's not exactly a thing you just "know" to begin with. You either open the shortcut first, which costs a lot of time and simply isn't worth it, or you cast a vague spell, which you only knew to do because you knew that the bug behind the door can be killed that way, which you only know is the solution to the problem because you looked it up. The issue with dark souls, and fromsoft games in general, is that the sidequests and solutions are extremely poorly hinted at. I understand not wanting to "hold hands", but their quest design is simply ridiculous. Not even a LITTLE hint?

I loved that about dark souls 1, how i had to try and figure everything out myself (or look at a guide)

I beat Ornstein and Smough on my second try, without solaire and I used my axe I got from starting as a pyromancer. Nothing is impossible. Some people just better understand the game than others when they play it

When I stumbled blindly into that dark cave, i didn't notice it was solaire until I started rushing him... i stopped dead in my tracks, and started parrying and parrying, i wasn't willing to let my boi die. I started tearing up, thinking "he's not aggroed on me, right? It's not true" 😢
This made my day, this is one of my biggest inspirations for animating to date and I was so happy to see this come up in my recommended videos! It must be a huge weight lifted to have completed the series yet at the same time it will resonate and spread inspiration and joy--at least it has to me. Cheers man!
