Man, the fact that you can actually do this is why I love DS1 so much. Being able to just go almost anywhere you want from the start and make entire builds early in the game vs like DS3 where if you want to make a particular build, tough shit, you can't until you basically beat the whole ass game since it's way more linear and the stuff you might need for a build isn't till like the end game.
If we could get another interconnected map like Dark Souls 1, I would take that over Elden Ring's map any day. I might even take that over a better open world map.
There's no reason to do the Giant Dad without 66 Endurance. That was the reason it was so good, cause you could fast roll, and have the best defense in the game.
@@chickennuggerinos2472 nope, with said 66 END, Father's Mask, Havel's and FaP you can fastroll with Giant Dad equipment. It will be exactly 25.0/200.1 equip load, on the borderline of fastroll. And yes, this is what gives this build a huge chunk of its power. A fuck ton of hp and defence with fast roll
Mistor Carrot I’m pretty sure it’s still mid roll because you max out carry capacity at 40 end so 66 doesn’t matter that just means more actions, I had everything and 50 end and still mid roll, you will not fast roll

Remastered was 50% off today on xbox, so I snagged it, and immediately came to this video. Pinwheel gave me a bit more trouble than I'm willing to admit. But I was awarded with mask of the father on my first try.

@@bookim40 Well...they did put the necro right by the bonfire and the switch you have to use to go on so they really did make you learn that you have to kill them to permanently kill the skeletons. As for doing Pinwheel meat the start, I would probably put him in between the two bells as the best placement for him. By then, your weapons are stronger and your levels are higher. If you think about it, there are two obvious paths from firelink. After getting ganked in the graveyard once you start, you head up the other way. That takes you all the way to Andre and the first bell (yes, there are seperate paths along the way but think of it from a new player perspective who doesnt know the short cuts or deviant paths). Afterwards, you would want to try the graveyard again.
she is immune to fire. but you can summon NPC Maneater Mildred. She will invade you slightly right to the bonfire in the swamp. she can do a lot of damage at her own and she distracts the boss, so you can kick Quelaags butt. If you need help, you can summon someone. I was stuck at O&S for a long time. then I asked someone at reddit to help me out. might do it for you, as well. good luck.
I seriously cannot blame him, if he didn't. For many people the hardest boss is a different one. some beat capra first try. Many complain Seath is hard, but I beat him fist try without even taking damage. But I got stuck on O&S for years of playing, getting frustrated, restarting, playing, frustation, trying different tactics and builds until I beat them about 2 weeks ago.

Solaire and Siegmeyer are perhaps the only two we meet who are truly happy about what they’re trying to do and don’t have any ulterior motive to them. Their nativity and straightforwardness make them very endearing, as if they somehow retain some aspect of innocence while the world crumbles around them… It makes their inevitable fates all the more tragic.
Leroy actually died against Pinwheel because he took too much dmg from the wheelskeletons and I had to kill Pinwheel solo. It was actually pretty ez tbh.

You could have saved that first trip to the Catacombs Get the Zwei, Go to Andre's, Upgrade to +5, Defeat Quelaag with the regular Zwei, Get the Chaos Ember, Farm the Titanite and then go to the Catacombs and upgrade to Chaos Zwei
part of the first trip is also to deal with pinwheel (though that's not really a big selling point) and get the Rite of Kindling early (which can give you 15 estus) Your method would work too

As a long-time subscriber, I just wanted to express my feeling of awe on what an amazing masterpiece this video (and many other on this channel) is. The attention to details is frankly staggering, like how you repeat certain little gags through video but only twice (a rule of 2 in comedy), how you synchronize music to actions on screen and different cuts in between. The choice of music too, how it keeps up the pace of a video and at the same time helps to differentiate between all the chapters making them somewhat unique in tone. It's a great watch, an instant favorite for me and one of the best among many Dark Souls videos that exist on this platform, at least in my opinion.
Tips to anyone doing a giant dad character Vitality and endurance are the 2stats you’ll be levelling later on ( with the havels ring and dad helm you need around 150+ equip load to not fat roll, so have fun with that)(END 66+Harvels and giant dad mask is required to fast roll) Upgrade the giant armor as soon as you’ve done the chaos zwe! It’s just twinkling titanite, which you can farm from those skull clams in the entrance to the 2nd Seath battle, it saves so much pain with the other fights, and Seath is the easiest of the lords anyway. If you don’t want to go there yet you can also farm them at ash lake but this way less effective The gold serpent ring and 10 humanity’s is almost required for farming, 410 item discovery will half the time you spend farming chunks and twinkling, you can farm humanity’s from the rats in the depths, once you have 10 you can get 100s If you’ve done the armor and the chaos weapon with humanity’s to spare, try to kill artorias sooner then later, the area under him is the best place in the game to farm humanity’s, 5 minute runs leading to 10+ humanity’s I’ve got enough to last me multiple ng+
And the knowledge of the fanbase, you might not spot it, but this video is litered with references to the most wide known videos from the community, which only makes it better. Just like, so you know, since you couldn't have known, not being a souls fan and all. It lifts the quality even higher as he clearly knows his shit deeep.
For those of you who want to go with the SL99 build of Giantdad, know that it's also possible to attain this with a Pyromancer instead of a Bandit. You'll have some slightly better phsyical defenses this way. You'll also start with a Pyromancy Flame, which'll make the early game a bit easier.
Start with Pyromancer. Gift Master Key Run Asylum Pick up everything in FIrelink. Go to New Londo Pick up Soul on Staircase, get the Firekeeper Soul, then bone out. Go to Valley of Drakes. Get soul after the gate, then the soul at the dragon, then go up the elevator and to the bonfire. Uses all souls level up, equip zweihander, and proceed as normal. tbh, it's up to personal preference whether you want to be a Bandit or a Pyromancy, the end up being the same level anyway. Some people would prefer to have the Battleaxe, while others would rather have the Pyromancy Flame early.
Yeah half the cancer of Giantdad was that the Zwei is naturally one of the best Dead Angling weapons, which means the supreme weakness of the UGS is covered. I mean you can still RollBS every swing so it's not really a problem if you have eyes, but it is perhaps the most efficient noob crusher out there since it just out poises and stunlocks just about everything in the game.
That whole catacombs section is extremely inconsistent, especially the drop parts, sometimes the pyro throws flames, sometimes when you fall you explode and die, and sometimes all the skeletons will kill them selves, or all will survive
Lol I’m playing through dark souls for the first time and accidentally sat at the bonfire next to the spooky blacksmith, very regrettable decision once I realized there’s bonewheels everywhere outside that bonfire. Took me like 30 minutes just to get back to firelink, blighttown was actually easier to traverse somehow but the catacombs just drove me mad
Fun fact, we've since learned what they meant when they said poise is working properly (it wasn't that rolling s thing someone said a while back). They made poise only work when attacking, and only really take effect with slower weapons. It's still stupid as hell and makes no sense how heavy armor doesn't actually go into effect unless you're swinging a weapon.
Poise has always been a wonky mechanic. It was OP as hell in the original DkS1 (there was literally no reason to use light armor) and sucked in pre-patch DkS3. Currently, i like DkS3's current Poise system because DkS1 Poise allowed for just spamming buffed sword/katana/gold tracer R1 and winning via Poise facetanking anything. DkS3's Poise finally made a good balance between armor types, giving lighter and heaver gear value while mostly preventing high DPS R1 spam cheese.
I got lucky in my first Remaster playthrough to get the Dad mask drop on the Pinwheel boss. At that point I'd already had enough investments for the Zweihander soooooooo... *powers up the Bass Cannon*
They should have added giant dads set to elden ring as some sort of legendary armour. But people have already made a set thats similar in elden ring and its beautiful.
For anyone who accidentally lights the vamoos bonfire, here's how you get out and back to fire link. Firstly, make sure voice upgraded your weapon as shown in the video. Step two, take a casual step outside, there are 3 wheelie directly ahead so dont walk too far as we dont want to agro them. To the left theres a single wheelie, hes facinge away but will notice you when you step outside. Let him come to you and then take him out. The best way to take him out is to let him do wheelie towards you, dodge out the way and slammy slammy him. Step 3, At this point you've got one more task. You gotta get past those 3 wheelies. Heres what you do; you jog (do not sprint) towards the exit, which is a little cavern to the left of where you exit from the vamoos bonfire. You'll notice the wheelies start getting in wheelie mode, at this point you roll forward and out the way and then start to sprint towards the cavern. Heres the thing, those wheelies cant change direction easily so once they roll and you're out the way you are pretty much home free. At this point it's a simple matter of holding your shield and running back to fire link.
I like how straightforward this guide is. Things you get, need, kill, very clear and shows you how to do it all, totally didnt know about quit out. Saving this video, love it! Liking anf Subscribing after this because of it.
God, I remember I was going through a very hard time in my life when I first watched this. Landlord kicked us out of our home to build something on the lot, I lost my job, kids starting school, heart issues. I was lucky enough to live on one of my family's propertys in a old cabin with old a out house and a generator for power. Cutting down trees to keep my family warm for the coming winter, getting food from a food pantry, everyone sleeping in one big bed. My only down time was late at night with my copy of dark souls remastered and ymfah videos to follow along with. Even though we were enduring such hardships, I hold such nostalgia for those late nights. Thanks funny UA-cam gaming man, you honestly really helped me keep my feet on the ground back then ♥️

Tips to anyone doing a giant dad character
Vitality and endurance are the 2stats you’ll be levelling later on ( with the havels ring and dad helm you need around 150+ equip load to not fat roll, so have fun with that)(END 66+Harvels and giant dad mask is required to fast roll)
Upgrade the giant armor as soon as you’ve done the chaos zwe! It’s just twinkling titanite, which you can farm from those skull clams in the entrance to the 2nd Seath battle, it saves so much pain with the other fights, and Seath is the easiest of the lords anyway. If you don’t want to go there yet you can also farm them at ash lake but this way less effective
The gold serpent ring and 10 humanity’s is almost required for farming, 410 item discovery will half the time you spend farming chunks and twinkling, you can farm humanity’s from the rats in the depths, once you have 10 you can get 100s
If you’ve done the armor and the chaos weapon with humanity’s to spare, try to kill artorias sooner then later, the area under him is the best place in the game to farm humanity’s, 5 minute runs leading to 10+ humanity’s

Making this build is like trying to assemble all the pieces of exodia.
For those of you who want to go with the SL99 build of Giantdad, know that it's also possible to attain this with a Pyromancer instead of a Bandit. You'll have some slightly better phsyical defenses this way. You'll also start with a Pyromancy Flame, which'll make the early game a bit easier.
Beriorn you start with less str+dex meaning it takes longer to use the babymaker

Run Asylum
Pick up everything in FIrelink.
Go to New Londo
Pick up Soul on Staircase, get the Firekeeper Soul, then bone out.
Go to Valley of Drakes.
Get soul after the gate, then the soul at the dragon, then go up the elevator and to the bonfire.
Uses all souls
level up, equip zweihander, and proceed as normal.
tbh, it's up to personal preference whether you want to be a Bandit or a Pyromancy, the end up being the same level anyway. Some people would prefer to have the Battleaxe, while others would rather have the Pyromancy Flame early.
it takes slightly longer before you can Zweii? So what?
exactly, it's not like you kill anything on the way to the grass crest shield, so having the ability to equip the zwei early is fairly pointless.

Yeah half the cancer of Giantdad was that the Zwei is naturally one of the best Dead Angling weapons, which means the supreme weakness of the UGS is covered. I mean you can still RollBS every swing so it's not really a problem if you have eyes, but it is perhaps the most efficient noob crusher out there since it just out poises and stunlocks just about everything in the game.
As far as the remaster goes, I think dead angling has been removed, however turning away during your swing will still prevent parries.

Lol I’m playing through dark souls for the first time and accidentally sat at the bonfire next to the spooky blacksmith, very regrettable decision once I realized there’s bonewheels everywhere outside that bonfire. Took me like 30 minutes just to get back to firelink, blighttown was actually easier to traverse somehow but the catacombs just drove me mad

Having functioning poise again is the main thing im looking forward to in the remaster
Fun fact, we've since learned what they meant when they said poise is working properly (it wasn't that rolling s thing someone said a while back). They made poise only work when attacking, and only really take effect with slower weapons. It's still stupid as hell and makes no sense how heavy armor doesn't actually go into effect unless you're swinging a weapon.
Poise has always been a wonky mechanic. It was OP as hell in the original DkS1 (there was literally no reason to use light armor) and sucked in pre-patch DkS3. Currently, i like DkS3's current Poise system because DkS1 Poise allowed for just spamming buffed sword/katana/gold tracer R1 and winning via Poise facetanking anything. DkS3's Poise finally made a good balance between armor types, giving lighter and heaver gear value while mostly preventing high DPS R1 spam cheese.

For anyone who accidentally lights the vamoos bonfire, here's how you get out and back to fire link. Firstly, make sure voice upgraded your weapon as shown in the video.
Step two, take a casual step outside, there are 3 wheelie directly ahead so dont walk too far as we dont want to agro them. To the left theres a single wheelie, hes facinge away but will notice you when you step outside. Let him come to you and then take him out. The best way to take him out is to let him do wheelie towards you, dodge out the way and slammy slammy him.
Step 3, At this point you've got one more task. You gotta get past those 3 wheelies. Heres what you do; you jog (do not sprint) towards the exit, which is a little cavern to the left of where you exit from the vamoos bonfire. You'll notice the wheelies start getting in wheelie mode, at this point you roll forward and out the way and then start to sprint towards the cavern. Heres the thing, those wheelies cant change direction easily so once they roll and you're out the way you are pretty much home free. At this point it's a simple matter of holding your shield and running back to fire link.

God, I remember I was going through a very hard time in my life when I first watched this. Landlord kicked us out of our home to build something on the lot, I lost my job, kids starting school, heart issues. I was lucky enough to live on one of my family's propertys in a old cabin with old a out house and a generator for power. Cutting down trees to keep my family warm for the coming winter, getting food from a food pantry, everyone sleeping in one big bed.
My only down time was late at night with my copy of dark souls remastered and ymfah videos to follow along with. Even though we were enduring such hardships, I hold such nostalgia for those late nights.

We have a group of 12 therapists and counselors that we have meetings with once a week to get him help. Removed anything from our house that he could cause harm with so small daily things like cooking meals is difficult. Over $20k in damages he's done to our house has put us in extreme financial turmoil. It's a 24 hour job taking care of him so not able to go find a job. Getting diagnosed with lupus on top of my heart condition has me feeling like old age has grabbed me early. Life feels like a dead end that's coming up way too fast.
I'm not looking for pity, I only want people to try and be happy with what life they have. It could always be worse 🤷♂️
