In Canada Truckers can smoke as long as they pass breath saliva test which tests if u smoked within 4 to 6 hours makes so much sense
Yes it does, U.S. should do that.
Truckers need to smoke!
Makes sense too bad our gov is too stupid to such a thing
C'mon us. We suck out here
Ya right, til you get in an accident or get smashed by a Brampton boy who's on his phone....
I'm a research engineer for DOD and have a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Why should I lose my job if I smoked a joint last weekend while disc golfing with my friends? The laws are ridiculous and need to change sooner rather than later.
Because the devil's lettuce.
Since you make all that that money put it to use and overturn it trump would lmao
@@brandonbell5357 Money? No, I said I work for the government! LOL!
@@erockromulan9329 exactly my point
Agreed.
They have to be careful to make sure the "legalization" process is slow and only lines the pockets of already rich people, and not the people who have been fighting on the front lines for decades.
Naturally.
As long as they get their cut
Of course! Don’t let them grow it for free
Yup
Now that several senators have invested heavily in cannabis sales and futures you see them push for rescheduling. It should not be scheduled at all however because that keeps it criminalized. No prescription, no legally obtained weed. You won't have the option of prescribing it to yourself.
Just legalize marijuana already federal
They can't. Too many high risk jobs are regulated on a federal level. I just got a job on tugboats pushing barges. I refuse to work with anyone smoking weed. I'm 28 and smoked half my life so I can see some issues that would put my life at risk if I have to rely on somebody that's stoned. Plus when shit like fires, collisions, and Allison's happen I need somebody that can control their adrenaline and act instantly.
@@TheLastOG88 same thing could be said about alcohol, but that’s legal
move Alcohol to Schedule III, to even the field
Those high risk jobs I bet drink after work and alcohol causes more death then weed the real reason is insurance company don't wanna pay for medical weed
@@TheLastOG88 being intoxicated at work and legalizing cannabis for personal use are 2 different issues. Your 28, your still young. Not everyone experiences cannabis the same. And its not legal to show up to work drunk, and many employers even refuse to hire tobacco users. Both are legal and far more addicting then cannabis. And both have far more deaths responsible.
Benzodiazepines are schedule 4, which can be deadly if abused. But cannabis to schedule 3? C'mon, this doesn't make sense to me.
It's their way of keeping cannabis criminalized and within their purview for enforcement. Cannabis interdiction is 80% of their annual budget. Why would anyone think they are going to give that up? And all of that is before Big Pharma weighs in. You cannot patent or copyright a plant. This plant poses a threat to the five biggest money making prescribed medications they produce for anxiety, blood pressure and pain management. Since they can't own it and monopolize it, it's pressure on politicos to just say "you ain't getting any".
Xanax is a schedule 4. That’s wild
Marijuana is schedule 1
As someone who's quit subboxone to see cannabis in the same class is disgusting. Obvious the hhs is full of sh*t, controlled by corporations.
@@robbieglass9125he's talking about the new rescheduling
People are dreaming if they think the DEA will give up on the one drug that gives them 80% of their annual budget. If you are a driver you will not be smoking.
😢
But you will be drinking..please make it make sense
I drove for 30 years and smoked my whole life. You just have to be willing to lose your job at any time and have to go get another one, as I had to 3 times.
@@Qingeatonnot anymore with the stupid Clearinghouse. I use a catheter and fill my bladder with synthetic urine when I get a random
@@SKDYCAT Since you went there, I'll share this. One time I got a random and it was bad timing.
I had a good friend who didn't smoke, so I popped over to his place with a condom and asked if he would "fill it" for me. He did and everything was set. Until it ruptured and I drove home soaked in urine instead of showing up at the clinic. Hell, the wages I was earning back then putting up with that not see shit, can be earned doing most anything these days. I did Reefer trailers, Dry vans, Feed trailers, had TWO driver of the year awards for safety and customer service, all while being a smoker, but of course, NOT on the job ever.
Retired 2 years ago.
Companies that drug test for weed should have their business license taken away and the owners should be put in prison for life.
❤
Nah death penalty
Most buisiness owners do not give a F if you're a solid worker that is an asset to the buisiness, the last thing they want to do is fire a good employee. Their insurance companies and workman comp programs leave them with no choice in many cases. Insurance companies say Steve had marijuana in his system when he caused a million dollar injury lawsuit, you're on your own buisiness owner. If you owned a company you wouldn't put your entire life savings on the line so I guy can smoke at night, if you would you're not very intelligent.
@@dingusfuzzklonnkt2755 alcohol throws a monkey wrench in your whole argument
@@RandomSandwhich741ejected into the sun out of a giants ass.
how is Xanax and Valium (both schedule 4) less harmful or addictive then cannabis? crazy!
Money
If you think about it, heroine is schedule 1, no medicinal value. Excuse me, heroine is the same thing as morphine and it's given every day in every hospital. They need to decriminalize everything. My body my choice.
Nah
They're prescribed medication s
Right but so far its just a recommendation. Until the DEA actually agrees and reschedules it, which they may not, nothing has changed.
Need to get rid of the D.E.A.
@@deweyeverhart3118 agreed
😂schedule 3 drug thats legal in almost every state.... why not take it off the schedule.
Putting it to schedule 3 will most likely lead to home growing being illegal across the board, schedule 3 gives cannabis to big pharma
It puts the weed in the gov hands not home growers or caregivers. Only pharmacy can dispense said meds? Not what we want. Also insurance companies can now over pay for crap weed that normally would be scrapped. You dont want that. We dont want that.
DEA WILL NEVER GIVE UP ITS MOST LUCRATIVE DRUG
Wish there were some updates. Its been months since this was announced
Thank you you’re great your videos were very helpful subscribed
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks for the update
No problem 👍
Schedule 3. You got to be kidding. It should be schedule 0. LOOK IT UP! ... and 10% for the Big Guy!
Thanks for the update but we've known about that for about 3 years now
If prescribed to help ease joint pain (in some professions is really needed) would have no negative effect to test positive in a random DOT drug test?
how crazy is it that i was prescribed Medical Marijuana for post military PTSD from Iraq, but then told by the government that i cannot use this prescription AND maintain a class A cdl. HOWEVER, if id like to hop on Xanax .5mg up to 4 times a day, that would be acceptable... What kinda sense does that make. Ive smoked pot twice in my life, both in highschool, im 40 now and took my first couple prescribed xanax and i can tell you without a doubt if either one should be disqualifying for operating a commercial vehicle it should 100% be xanax. Unbelievable.
Dr.Nuesse, I am curious on the GC/MS testing practices for a DOT drug test/UA
My main question and concern - is the gc/ms testing used the first time a urine sample is given? Or is it only used for confirmation after a positive result for a substance.
My next question is, for a DOT UA health screen where do they run a GC/MS test for that or what testing method is used to see if you're healthy?
Thank you for the videos and for all the insight you give us!
If you failed the 50ng test than they go to GC/Ms. Where the cut off is 15ng to verify the results.
Thank God 🙏
So this change means nothing at all to truckers lol
likely not. The saliva testing will
It should
Your employer has to approve saliva testing. I just had a random yesterday and asked the lady if they will be changing to saliva and she said if your employer gives the approval. I hope so because I'd love to smoke a joint or two on my day off and not worry about it showing up on a drug test when I'm not even impaired.
@@joeisinthehouseUnless there is a huge pushback from the insurance companies (likely) trucking companies would love to move to saliva testing. I work in the security industry and we couldn't wait to switch over once we could. Saliva testing is far cheaper, and actually catches the hard drug addicts that are actually a problem. Not to mention otherwise great applicants were being disqualified with urine just for pot, while the addicted could pass after staying clean for about three days. Completely flipped the script
Ya let's see what happens 🤞@@wwltd3036
i used to sell pot on the black market for almost 30 years, in california. now i live in tennessee, where they take your house and cars if they find a joint. i'll be dead before its ever legal here. but you can bring a gun into a restaurant. i only order takeout.
We would prefer you moved back to California
Legalize weed, everyone smokes it
It would be unacceptable to continue testing for MJ as a schedule 3 substance. It would be the only one.
Like 80% of the country thinks it should be legal for medical/recreational use. Why tf is it still illegal?
What happens now if you are prescribed medicinal cannabis like a normal prescription from your doctor?
I asked to my company for pre employment, if i can do saliva because ive stopped smoking 1.5 months ago and im still dirty! And they said its not allowed 🙄
It’s already been researched all the way back to the 50s. Federal government already owns patents on it. Government programs dated all the back in the early 80s. If you qualified.. you received a tin canister of pre-rolled cannabis cigarettes in the mail each month. With a government prescription label on it.
Only seven (7) people total, EVER, and ZERO after the 70's. None after those expired. You found some junk intel there, bud.
It’s about time!
I want to know how this will affect the home grower? Will we still be able to grow our own medicine at home? Cause it’s still illegal to produce schedule 3 drugs at home.
Soooo, if it becomes a schedule 3 and i have a medical card does that mean im ok at work? My work only recognizes federal laws.
Curious if this will mean someone with a medical card can legally purchase a firearm now, as it’s seen as a medical prescription by the Feds.
old boss same as new boss. Even after complete legalization ATF wont let you have God given rights,
Nah
Question. I have to take a pre-employment (non dot) drug screen. The email said a 9 panel test plus the audio. Im looking at the paper I gotta take says '10 panel-NO THC. So, that would make it the 9 panel in the email. So, does that mean they're not testing for that? Ive read more companies are veering away feom testing for that. I also have my med card.
When the tax on it, becomes more than the fines for it, is when it will go Federally legal.
Thats the bottome line.
If it gets descheduled will it still be on the DOT random testing. Or still at the companys discretion.
Trucking companies will drop the testing requirement as soon as they legally can. They don't wanna lose drivers.
Just a suggestion to the DEA to make a change. Totally up to the DEA. Time has proven that random drug testing is not about Safety. Random drug testing is and always has been about a steady flow of urine for PROFIT$.
So what does this mean for preliminary screens? Will it be up to each individual employer? Will it be treated the same way as nicotine and alcohol?
Private employers can test or not test for whatever they want
It’s the employers insurance co that requires intrusive testing of the data inside your urine, so use someone else’s, like they do. Fixed it!
My wife smokes for relief as she is disabled. I failed a DT at my suboxone doctor for weed and I dont even smoke it. It was level 52 and she said minimum to fail is 25. I have to get my dot physical before October 2nd. I'm scared to death
Did you pass?
@Juan-ip1ow turns out I didn't even need my dot physical it was good till next year. I just had to renew my driver's license itself. But yeah I've went back to my doctor multiple times and it's out of my system. I guess it's where she smoked it while laying in bed with me, or maybe me touching her plants idk. But its gone now.
@@baylenthedogg3242 if your around people that smoke it may appear in your system but the levels are usually too low for you to fail. The good thing is that it doesn’t take long for it to get out of your system. And that’s good that you didn’t have to take the test I would’ve been so stressed out lol.
What if you get dot tested but you get a Dr prescription for cannabis? After it's scheduled 3?
Millions killed by other drugs legally non of them locked up. I got arrested as a kid with a joint.
Happened??
And that's exactly the problem, GOVERNMENT!
Skip all this nonsense and legalize it. Hey DC just imagine the taxes you guys can get off of this! We know you all love those!
it may reduce alternative drug use let alone their own "illegal" dealings... so that would likely give them less for their black budgets
@@golgothan yup less tax revenue for them, cause already ounce prices are now 100 bucks at the dispensary
Would schedule 3 affect drug testing at work?????
So if it goes to schedule 3 will you be able to have it in your system if you have a prescription for it ? If it shows up on a urine test and you have a prescription you ahould be fine correct ?
probably not. At least to start
@@EasyDOTPhysicals OK thank you
so ketamine is schedule 3. it is legal and dot does not test for it. does this mean marijuana will be in the same boat . or will big pharma keep it just out of reach till they find a way to keep their massive income for drugs/prescriptions? thanks appreciate your videos
Welcome. We'll see...
@@EasyDOTPhysicals okay well thats not a no.. so im hopeful !! :)
There shouldn't be any scheduling for cannabis. This will only help big corp not us kittle guys.
Yea, ok
Thank god i hate alcohol
Why don't they have the people vote on if they want it legalized or not and to take it off the scheduled drug list
So it will be a hundred years before it gets to the people.
if i were an employer and saw that an applicant is positive for thc it would be an automatic HIRE
😂
This is probably why you are not an employer.
What company owns the saliva test?
So Doc, do you personally believe they will let doctors start prescribing it like the do other schedule 3 drugs?
I do believe this
@@EasyDOTPhysicals I understand, thanks a million for the informative information👌
Yes, as they would no longer have the threat of losing their license by the DEA for recommending an illicit drug. This would be the sole benefit of moving the scedule, everything else will be very negative. For example, if you are in a legal state and grow a few plants for medical use, you would need a special DEA sch3 manufacture license that costs about 120,000 dollars to do so..
You want to come on the podcast some particular Sunday and talk about DOT stuff?
sure, send info to Info@newtownhealth.com
You said in a recent video that if marijuana were to be rescheduled to 3 or higher it would not longer be tested for by fmcsa. You said schedule 1 and schedule 2 it stays on the banned substances list for drivers. Now you are saying schedule 3 still on DOT random?
Yes, based on the article and info released it looks like it will probably still be tested for. If this changes in the future I will certainly make an update.
This is bullshit. Just fucking legalize it. I'm going into the fire service and this means fucking nothing for me
well, that should be Descheduled cause, what about us, home growers we won't be absolutely no home grow marijuana it's gonna end all that if this becomes a schedule, 3 drug, be safe, stay strong God bless
I guess it’s wierd since there is such a comparison to alcohol but no one tests for that in excess only pot lol alcohol is so more an issue pot can be an issue also but if you can get a dui for both wouldn’t it make sense when your tested to test for both
Marijuana should have been descheduled completely
thanks for the update bruzza. the LED screen in the background is cool whoever did that is based
Appreciate it!
Wonder who paid them to not recommend descheduling.
So does that mean a cdl holder can have a medical marijuana card?
I have a video on this
Whats your take on the government keeping you dna with saliva testing ?
It is only speculation but I can understand the concern
What would this mean for truck drivers? Adderall is schedule 2 and can be allowed at the doctor's discretion with a prescription. Would this mean that a truck driver could get a prescription?
So when will they start saliva testing
labs need to be certified. I'll make an update when appropriate
Why wouldnt this legalize medical use then?
It MAY make it easier to prescribe in not “legal” states and MAY make the federal government less likely to crack down on states that have legalization and MAY make doctors more open to prescribing
I heard the DEA wanted it rescheduling to 3 or what ever!
Micheal Phelt it was a schedule 420. Special.
weed is a medicine and a veryy good one that is why they stop at nothing to make it impossible for the working class to partake its sickening
Just because the DEA received the letter from HHS, it doesn't mean the DEA will act on it. There's too much $$ at stake for the DEA.
If this was such a high priority to the Big Guy, why didn't he sign an executive order on day 1, like the rest of his dictates?
Long live the Bureaucracy!!
not good enough. YOu still would have to pay outlandish fees to get a prescription AND THEN they still want to control what you get. How about no and who ever is saying they are making it schedule 3 are wrong. They want to make it schedule 1 same as prescriptions. BUt again, why if only for the cash
Scedule 3 means that very expensive licence and regulations will need to be followed to produce package and distribute. Also means that recreational use would be illegal as will be growing a few plants in a legal state. It is a classic bait and switch. Legalize it fully ffs.
schedule 3 is still bullshit
Cannabis is brilliant.
What does it mean with dot physical? And dot drug testing?
video explains
They dont want to lose the money they get from fighting it. How many people are employed in this enforcement and dogs trained to find cannabis 🐶. They wont ever legalize marijuana.
Descedule all together so corporations can’t try to profit
8:24 Do you think a prescription could allow people who are subject to DOT urine tests to be marijuana users?
No because it is federally illegal
@@CruncheryAndJaucy I meant after the potential rescheduling goes through
DEA? Isn't it the DOJ who now decides?
DEA is a division of the DOJ
You really can’t see why they’d go against HHS recommendations? Money. It’s always been about profiteering by having something to criminalize.
I just started my new job as a diesel tech. I was tested and everything came back good since I quit 2 weeks ago. My workplace policy is 0 tolerance since we technically work for DOT since we work on semis. Would scheduling it to level 3 allow me to smoke? I have a medical card as well.
answer is in the video
@@EasyDOTPhysicalsyes I did hear in the video that they will still test for it most likely but will having the medical card be a medical excuse to as why they would find THC if I was to get randomly tested? And I do hope the saliva testing goes into effect soon🙏🏽😂 it’s not like I’d be smoking on the job
How often did you smoke to pass in that short time
@@ViralPodZzz I was testing dirty on urine tests over 2 months after last time vaped Delta8. Took an oral test and passed. I assume they urine test because it has a wider time frame range and since to prove you're working clean you would have to oral test daily. I doubt the DOT will ever go oral for that reason, just not cost effective to oral test daily.
@@MC-uj4co I smoked 2 times a day I’d say for 5 months. But currently discovered my pre employment drug test was non-dot so I’m not quite sure if I’m covered under DOT drug policy. Still trying to figure it out because I want to be able to smoke a J 😂
Don't hold your breath on this. The DEA is making to much money from it
dont take it off the list , it does have a profound effect at the time of consumption. This belongs in the same place as alcohol.
Just legalize it 😩
Oh yes. Big biz needs the RS to make bigger bucks lol 😂
Why was my comment deleted?
You said yourself that this is only a recommendation, so you can't say rescheduling is happening. Change the title.
So people and buisness owners in the marijuana industry do not pay federal taxes? 🤔
Texas will drag its feet on this.
Fuck Abbott yall want wheel chair man that's what happens
Legalize it is one part get rid of the dam drug tests for marijuana is the second part!
We have sooooo much information from Israel and know the reality of cannabis risk and benefit.
🤝🏼
"A bridge to far" sorry but the united states is supposed to be for the people not corporate control. It absolutely should be descheduled, if tobacco and alcohol can be exempt from scheduling then cannabis should be.
Rescheduling it to 3 gives cannabis to big pharma, who happens to be legal cannabis number 1 opposition, this is gonna lead to more regulations including making home growing illegal across the board. So overall this is not a good thing unless u want to go to CVS for government cannabis
Yea that’s there angle control it and keep taking your money so you are not allowed to grow it for free
2:43 really quick to not mention Ketamine as a class 3 drug. sad to hear Marijuana is being treated like this.
Deschedule already, if they find that it needs to be scheduled again whicj they wont because its ridiculous that it ever was scheduled but here we are.
