They should just eliminate testing for this. It's discrimination. End of story.
The issue I have with saliva testing, is that if you smoke marijuana the night before and you’re sober at work. The saliva test is up to 72 hours. It’s stil not an indication that your high in that moment. That’s like a breathalyzer, detecting alcohol that you drank two days ago.
While true it's still better than how they currently test. To bad they didn't run more test and raise the threshold from 4 ng to something higher therefore lowering the detection window. I would have thought they would have adjusted the threshold so if they tested 10 hours after use it would be negative since you would no longer be "impaired".
@@dpscott000 I agree, but during a work environment, I think legally, you can’t have any alcohol in your system at all. Not even .03. Because it means you’ve consumed alcohol within 12 hours of your shift.
I’ve had employees show up hungover and reeked like booze for hours into their shift.
Still much better.
The test is worthless for this very reason.
@@naturesbest7977I was in the oilfield for 10 years my supervisor was called out at night for an emergency, company man was being a dick and smelt alcohol on his breath called for testing and guy lost his job/ career of 20+ years
You can show up drunk everyday and that's cool with everyone, alcohol kills people daily. Weed very seldom causes someone to die. Goes to show how powerful the alcohol industry is
Companies should only test on Wednesday (assuming the work week's M-F) so that they're not nailing people who smoked over the weekend. You'd still possibly get screwed though if you smoked M/Tu night.

The panel means the type of drugs are being tested… If it’s a 5 panel they are testing for 5 types of drugs,,, if it’s 10 panel they are testing for 10 types of drugs and so forth

When are they moving to Salvia testing on the federal level? I am looking to become a police officer after I was discharged from the Army for THC.
They'll likely still leave the hair testing option on the table. Many positions with larger companies who are self insured might want their employees squeaky clean. And then there are the insurance companies that may want to put in their two cents to incentivize companies to stick with the more strict testing methods.
Will the return to duty process change testing as well?

Question: What if you inhale and exhale thru your nose, being very careful to keep your mouth closed? Maybe even putting a substance (as yet unknown) in your mouth to block exhale.

About f n time some progress still I believe it must be treated like alcohol. We still can't smoke after long days hard work just maybe Friday before the weekend or on vacation.
You can clean your mouth to where you're good even if you used within 8-12 hours. Diluted hydrogen peroxide and thorough brushing

@@ike3981 if not they probably should because its bs. I wasn't even employed or driving a truck at the time I was going through school and only smoked weeks before class started. I was never anywhere close to being high while driving a truck but still going to have a harder time finding a job than felons. Make it make sense

The marijuana doctor I go to prescribes Marinol so that way if there's ever an issue with drug testing you only need the letter from the doctor stating that the Marinol will not affect your driving I do not think an mro can test the difference between real marijuana and synthetic THC

So .. if you are a chronic user , smoking daily multiple times a day, then you stop , 3 or 4 days before a saliva swab test , that chronic cannabis user would test clean ? Is that correct ?
But on a urine or blood test you would need weeks or maybe months to pass clean without using fake/synthetic pee .. this is usefull information if confirmed.

If the fmcsa switches to saliva testing,the company must follow federal drug testing guidelines and only use saliva testing. However,the company can implement a policy that prohibits anyone from using cannabis. That gives them the right t o send you for a urine test on top of the dot random.
I read that when cannabis is moved to a schedule 3 it falls off the mandatory schedule one DOT drug testing. DOT does not test for schedule 3 currently. Can you confirm this.

They still test for codeine, but it should be taken off the tests imo, much more unsafe drugs are being used like Xanax and valium.

Is the cut off the same for private employers or do they have a higher cut off sometime? I’ve heard 50 ng and now I am hearing 4 ng. It seems like if they wanted to know if they were using at work they would make the cut off higher (sensitivity of the test)

Hey there, I have a question about the time the THC stays in the saliva. Some people say saliva can provide positive results for up to months but I just watched a video where they say it will only be detectable for up to 2-7 days... which one is true, please be specific. I'm trying to get around it by using mouth wash (Listerine), fatty foods and 3% peroxide. Thanks in advance

THC Is fat soluble, naturally marijuana will stay about a month. If ur skinny. But heavy is about 2 months tops, Salvia for heavy smoker is about 3 days or 4. Light is about a day or 2, to really clean ourself is to have fiber & healthy food. DRINK Alot water 2!! & Steamroom everyday, it cleans ur whole system. Even hair but hair is about 3 months but use steamroom everyday to shorten the time span. I been do this about 10 years on the job.

@@user-gm6zg3bn8klol I smoked 23 hours before and kinda stopped smoking as much pot over the two-three days leading up too, after I took my last hoot at 3 I had a test lined up at 2:30 then brushed, waited 15 mins then listerine (didn’t even floss) didn’t brush until later that evening then woke up and made chicken, ate chicken then went to work and passed. Edit: oh yeah and of course brushed after so 3 mouth cleans and a big meal should do it.

Is saliva testing vulnerable to adulteration? My wife says that mouthwash can give a clean result on a saliva test even with same day testing.
From someone who both failed and passed a D test, you can slow it down a couple days before hand, and going 24 hours later after taking a hoot, as long as you brush and use mouthwash 3 times or more I guarantee you will be fine, also eat food before you go in and brush again that’s always the last stop before d test town.

Doc i didnt smoke for 3 months, then on may i started smoking little hit on a pipe daily (3-4 times a day less than 0.3 grams per day) on may 26 i stopped because drug testing and i been clean now for 10 days (June 6) maybe in one week or two i have the drug test, i train 3 times a week boxing for 1:30 hours im 5,8 and weight 185 pounds when will i become clean? also i drink a lot of water and eat healthy.

Don't worry so much about DNA. It's just a quick swab of the mouth and the results come in in around 15 minutes. Just a test to let them know if you are currently impaired.
This is a complete waste of time. Carriers will never preform a swab test for the industry. It’s going to be urine and hair and that’s that. Like many people have stated the insurance companies will be the determining factor here. That is how it is with everything and it will never change. So us discussing this is pointless. Look how it is now hair testing is not even an approved procedure from the FMCSA and yet here we are. You will always be able to drink the night before you get on duty and nothing will ever happen to you. This and being exempt from the Federal Labor Standards Act we will always be considered second class citizens. We will always be dictated on what we can and cannot do on our off time. It will never change there are way to many organizations like ATA that have politicians in their pockets and bank roll campaigns it will never change
