So basically I was at my schools summer camp ( not really school but anyways) I was using a tampon for the first time bc we were going swimming and it was my second time having a period, and I forgot that I had it in and I leaked onto my swimsuit bc I was wearing it as underwear. I had to go into the bathroom with no underwear and washed it. My friend had offered to get other shorts for me but I was scared that I was going to leak onto them, and now my swimsuit has a tiny permanent blood stain.
Could you please try period leggings?
I am so thankful that my mom educated me about periods long before I got them!

Yeah same, my mom told me infront of my dad, and he was like "OK i'm no going to be apart of this convo" ANYWAYS she gave me the talk and I asked her about since I REALLY WANTED A BRA, idek y so I got my bra in 3rd grade and now i'm older girly needs one now lol.

Period Story:
On my periods before this I had minimal or no cramps. Then it was the week of ELA state testing and I had the worst cramps of my life. Also my flow was really heavy. That week I had to swim for gym class. Which I did not want to do. But I was also new to periods so I did not want to tell my teacher. So I was able to skip by going to the orchestra room to practice. It was not a fun week.

One of my period horror stories was, I got my first period and my dad and my older brothers were the only ones home bc my mom was on a trip in Africa for 2 weeks where she did not have access to a phone and I’m the youngest and only girl out of my siblings so I was so embarrassed to tell my dad bc he had never experienced a situation like this since I’m his only daughter, so when I finally had the guts to tell him he asked my brothers for help and they searched up UA-cam videos and called some of their friends that were girls for help, I WAS SO embarrassed 😭😭

They really began doing research on the spot.
We were in the 6th grade and learning about puberty so the biology teacher asked the boys if they knew were girls bl33d from. One boy lets call him D Said excitedly “OH I KNOW I KNOW!, the nose!” The teacher put her hands in her head in disbelief then he proceeded to say “NO NO I MEANT THE FINGERS!” The teacher was just shocked She stood there frozen questioning her career choises. Lets say that that day was the best day ever.😂

Boys are so clueless! We did a similar class when I was in 6th grade and the teacher asked, “how long do girls have their periods”. And a boy yelled out “A MONTH!!!” And all the girls went “A MONTH?!?!?!?!”

There was this time during the Covid times that the each year group was assigned a block in the school (it would just be a building). We would all have to line up all 300 of us and there was a random bloody pad and tampon on the ground when it was raining (classic British weather). I could quite literally see watery blood spreading on the ground and multiple people stepping on it. I was trying so hard not to laugh but at the same time absolutely HORRIFIED because one of the boys looked at the tampon and picked it up and licked it! WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC ASWELL!

@@solong_abigail I really hope he knew it was used because it was like a first day period pad and tampon. Incredible heavy and bloody! Can't tell if it was a dare or not but it has traumatised me and this was a few years ago now. 😭

finally!! a period horror story video while on my period! first time that happened lol
So here is my first tampon horror story: So we were going swimming so I decided to put a tampon in. It went in fine and nothing felt wrong so I left it in for a while. When i went to take it out it got stuck and I started panicking. Eventually I went to the emergency room and apparently it was stuck because I had something rare called a vaginal septum. Now I have a surgery scheduled to get the septum removed.
I’ve learned so much from you about periods & told my mum them and she said she didn’t even know that & all she knew about periods is that it happens once a month & cramps & when you get your period for the first time you are able to have kids. Also literally just got my period today a couple minutes before you posted lol.😆 Love your videos! You do an amazing job!
I was lucky my mom explain to me what a period was. But I was still freaking out a bit the first time 😂 I literally run downstairs like « MOOOOOOM I NEED HELP » 😂😂

PERIOD TIPS:
Tip 1: (for 5th and upper grades) Always bring period supplies.
Tip 2: bring extra clothes sis!
Tip 3: BE PREPARED!
Tip 4: Learn about periods EARLY
Tip 5: When you get your first period- ALWAYS- ALWAYS, Tell your mother IMMEDIATELY! (I learned the hard way 😅)
Tip 6: learn to be confident about your period ***it helps with tip 5***
Tip 7: Watch Just Sharon and other period UA-camrs.
Tip 8: Get the “American Girl: The Care and Keeping of You (a body book for girls)
Tip 9: Know that there are people out there you can reach out to. (Maybe not male teachers/people 😂)

You can get your period as early as 4 years old (it’s very rare tho but the less rare early time is 8 years old)
I got my first period going into 4th grade i was playing outside i went inside to use the bathroom and i saw a brown stain i just thought "i💩 myself" so i changed and i went back outside a few mins later i saw the same stain i never told my mom till a month later she said "oh thats ur period" i knew about a period but never actually thought i was gonna get it at 8 or 9
I got mine in the middle of a state test and had to wait until it was over and was just sitting in my own blood for over an hour

I’m in Texas: Unless you had tampons/pads/something in your pockets? Your problem. You can’t get ANYTHING from your backpack. That means that if you start your period in the middle of testing, you can raise your hand, but all you can really use is the school’s trash toilet paper as a makeshift until testing is over. Of course, one person at a time in the bathroom, so it’ll be a while.

Sharon thank you so much for educating me about periods! Also about one month after The Talk. My friends and I asked some boys in our class some basic questions about periods. One such question was, How long does a period last? Someone answered 1-3 hours. I lost faith in the male population at that moment.

Lowkey wishing I had an exciting first period story because mine was pretty boring, I just woke up up in the middle of the night, saw blood and woke up my mom and told her and she threw me a pad and went back to sleep 😭

yesterday was my bday party and in the middle of just dance my period started, luckily i didn't bleed through that much. I told them all and laughed ab it since we were all afab and it still ended up being fun to hang out w them although i had a sleepover w one and waking up was a pain
I have had discharge for years and have had all the signs, even having horrible cramps a lot and don't have my period, I don't want it but like
I feel for you girl, I never had cramps or any signs besides discharge but I bet it will come VERY soon within this year, if you are really concerned, you could go to a gyno but I think you're okay ❤❤❤

My most awkward period story was during year 6 my last year of primary school ( I live in Australia) and I was rehearsing for a musical and I was dancing and felt something leak and before I knew it my friend grabbed me and said go tell the teacher you need to go to the bathroom and I’m coming. I asked why and she said looked down. I bleed through my pants and it trickled onto the stage floor which had a WHITE carpet on it for the show. I said to my teacher I needed to go to the bathroom for “feminine reasons” and she said okay. But what made it bad was the only male teacher in my grade then lectured everyone on the importance of “staying hygienic” he doesn’t know it was me but if he ever reads this just know I still hate you
“Staying hygienic”?? It’s not a hygiene issue it’s a period which is natural! I would hate that teacher if I were you too.

I watch your videos all the time, so I think I'll share mine! this was just last year in 7th grade at school. I "ended" my period... at least so I thought. it was lunch and I was sitting eating my food and I had felt a CLOT come out. I engorged it and thought it was discharge. the cafeteria was in the elementary across the road from the high school so after lunch I had to walk across the street to get to the high school. I ran to the bathroom and seen a little red stain on my LIGHT grey shorts. so, I quickly put a pad on and ran to my locker to but my sweatshirt around my waist. Until about an hour later I was in class and got called up to the office. I got DRESS CODED for my SHORTS and TANKTOP I was wearing.... they then gave me a shirt to change into and I had to explain to them that I had to keep the sweatshirt around my waist Bec I had leaked through... while on the edge of crying. moral of the story periods suck. Ily Sharon!!!

So in my class, there were only four of us girls. We all got our first periods that year. The worst thing was when we synced up. We always had to fight over the bathroom because we only had single bathrooms.( micro school). We are allowed to pace in the back of class since most of the students have ADHD, so me and the girls did to help settle our cramps. But our male teacher made us sit down though this has always been allowed. All the boys started to laugh at us for getting “in trouble”
I’m sick right now and so I’ll have to save this for when I feel better but I love you Sharon

I have a story…
Soooooo one day… when I first started getting periods I wasn’t really educated abt the products so I wore a liner to school. And I was in home room and I went to the bathroom. And I see a stain. Not any stain. So I texted my mom ,and my friends had NO IDEA I got my period. So I go back to class and I get a not that I’m getting picked up and I sit next to both of my close friends one of them was my crush at the time and he goes, why are u leaving so early. And I said idk I looked down at true seat and see a pile of blood pushed the chair in and ran to the office
This is the perfect timing. I just went back to school for term 3 and I think my period may be coming soon
I started my period in the summer and I was thankfully educated about it so when I woke up and realized I got it I just put on a pad and told my mom later when she came home

In my middle school we have very strict teachers and rules. Some people bring their phones into the bathrooms so the principal (a female) decided it would be a great idea to let no one use the bathroom. We were only allowed to use the bathroom if it was an emergency. Some girl in my 3rd period class had her period and she asked the *guy* teacher if she could use the bathroom. He said yes, but we get tardies every single time we seriously have to use the bathroom. This is why I think having a period at school would be horrible because the teachers at my school would get mad and get us in trouble for doing normal things.
I haven’t started and I am scared to but watching these videos makes me feel like I’m not alone and i have a hole pocket with period supply for girls in my class just in case but I’ve been doing research and watching your videos and feel safe and comfortable thank you for giving me that comfort

I have a story for u!!!
In 4th grade my friend and me where at my friends house. K lived in the house btw. N went to the bathroom well We where playing Uno. When she came back she had a pad in her hand with blood on it. N asked K if she had any pads. K said yes and ask her what size. N said 2 and K went to go get one from her bathroom. N asked her to put her pad in the garage so K did. K and me went to the bathroom to get one and she smelled it. It was nail polish. But she still got a pad for her.
And this is why I’m grateful for having my first period over a summer break and my mom being overly prepared as always 😄
Okay my story happened like a normal day at school, I got my period and wasn’t worried about it. I changes my pad for a second time that day, my best friend came to the bathroom with me, the locks on the toilet door don’t lock properly and tend to open occasionally and on that day it opened whole I was changing my pad. I was sooooo embarrassed and my best friend saw me and we both turned red, luckily we were the only girls in the bathroom
For me I usually have subtle cramps for most of the day and throughout the day it usually gets worse until its like late afternoon around dinner time when I actually start bleeding.

see at my school and family have taught us what periods and in yr 5 they gave us "[eriod pockets" which where purse things with all nessesties pads, tampon, lollies (for americans candy) and other stuff and had a draw of stuff in the classroom incase we got it suprisingly
Once when I was in 7th grade I leaked during math class (thankfully lunch was the next period) I noticed it once class had ended and stayed behind when all my classmates had left and told my AMAZING teacher and she was so sweet about it she offered me a pad and took me to the lost and found to get a new pair of jeans(I later found out that the jeans had a hole in the crotch area and had to tie my jacket around my waist)either way I will always be thankful for that teacher

PERIOD STORY TIME
When I was 12 I had really painful cramps at school and I told my bff and she didn’t care later that day I had to go to the high school where I was going the next year where they were showing everyone the classes the whole time I had horrible cramps and nearly crying my dad was there and it took me half a hour off asking him then he let me go home early back to the bff part the very next day my now ex bff had really bad cramps and I said well don’t be telling me cause u didn’t care then she was like well it’s not even that bad.We are now not bffs bc I am to negative all I remember is her been negative and she got a new bff the next day.
