Three years later I still haven’t actually seen one of these being ridden on a road. However, I have seen plenty of adverts for very lightly used ones offered for sale at less than half the new price.

I would add a 2nd lower light turned ans aimed by the stearing (the roads are lousy) and paint it in "scotch bright paint" (cage riders don't look out for riders) and adapters for multiple charger plugs (for limited charger locations) and just for fun a removable flashlight for when you need to park in a dark location and under body lights to outline the bike/rider on the ground like a visable "force-field Hehehe.

You cant load the battery externally in your living room. So this cant be bought if you dont have your own garage with a powerbox.... Thats sad, its a nice bike.
My thoughts exactly. Whoever makes the first motorcycle with removable battery and decent top speed and just 100km range will with the right price turn the market upside-down
Thank you for your feedback, Matthias. In general, the BMW CE 04 can be charged using the integrated charger either at a socket using your household electricity supply, at a wallbox or at a public charging station.

@@FussballTrainer2010 who ever has so much money for this bike has probably a haus with a garage or a place near a haushold plug. Mear mortals that live in an apartment, and most do, are not environmentaly friendly and are going to keep driving ICE vehicles for a long time. Driving factor for inovation nowdays is not climate change but profit.

I am not sold on the "All the eggs in the lithium basket, modeling". With range a big factor in Australia an ethanol or hydrogen fueled generator reduces dependence on the fuel and gives limitless range with instant top-up (Recharge). Not to mention weight savings.

It look very futuristic and actually quite like it, love how they made the jacked connected to bike, unfortunately only as a gimick. This could be a unique way in urban safety if they implemented the brake lights in the top portion of the jacket and helmet, blinkers in the sleeves to make your intentions clearly visible to others drivers.
I read somewhere that they are planning to implement brake and turning signal lights in the jacket. That was only one source though. There’s no reason for them not to do that, so here’s hoping
Bikes must have lights attached to the bike if it is to meet safety standards for road registration. That rule will never change. Brake and turn lights attached to the jacket will always be an addition to the bike lights.

So doing the math, $300 a month plus some other savings, I'll have $15.000+ in the span of three years. Sufficient to buy the Ce 04 premium most likely. In spite of the visual unorthodox design, the cE 04 -BMW scooter not only is manufactured in Berlin, but is made by the legitimate BMW company that organically has a mechanical engineering wisdom, beauty, function and superior quality over the novelty trend of wobbly cheep scooters. see you in three years !

Does the case under the seat fits an helmet?
Yes, Joao, the volume of the hinged storage compartment has a volume of 30l, which provides enough space for a helmet and the charging device, for instance 😊

Where the power comes from, when you plug in to charge, we kindly ask you to reach out to your electricity provider. They can tell you for sure where your electricity comes from.

Interesting... it would be even more interesting if you placed a second battery for longer autonomy and a better stop light! Take into account that, for example, a range of 160+km per day is needed for delivery in dynamic mode (*no eco) for example, in this area your prices would increase...that's why I'm having a hard time deciding to buy it! So for the moment i think it is not money for value!!
Ok this begs to be made into a akira bike.
It's too heavy and Big. I prefer more compact and light for easy to maneuver it.

Sorry BMW, aber mit den technischen Daten ist das leider überhaupt kein Bringer.
Ich fahre eine C400GT und suche einen elektrischen Nachfolger.
Das Design ist aus meiner Sicht schon mal nicht uninteressant.
Aber mit einer wahrscheinlich realistischen Reichweite von ca. 100 km kann ich damit absolut nichts anfangen.
Die CE04 ist dann wohl eher ein sehr teures Moped - zumal man auch nur max. 120 km/h fahren kann.
Schade.
When the late prototype was being shown without a rear fender, it looked like the designers had outranked the engineers and put fashion above function, but I like it now that the production prototype has a rear fender. The CE04 obviously needs fenders to be ridden in the rain without slinging road grime all over the rider. A rear fender is such a small thing, but the lack of a rear fender on the early prototype made me question the entire design.
I like the production ready version shown in this video - nice features and the attention to engineering detail we expect from BMW. I'd love to see the Triple Black version. The orange accents are a turn off for me.
I'd also like to see a shorter video with the CE04 specifications, pricing, closeup views of the CE04 highlighting the features, riding demonstration video... and no video of marketing people talking about their feelings, or my feelings.
Look carefully there is a very discrete black rear fender that hugs the rear tire.
@@highcountrypioneer3025 - I didn't communicate as well as I should. I intended to convey that I previously saw the early prototype without the rear fender and didn't like it but now that the production prototype was unveiled it obviously has a tightly fitted rear fender... probably a concession to the designer who wanted a bare rear wheel but had to surrender to the obvious need for a fender. I like the CE04 now that it has a fender, but I'd prefer a combination rear fender and rear rack to carry luggage. The BMW designers probably don't want a rear rack because that would look too functional and not artsy enough, and someone who previously owned a KLR650 might put a milk crate on there. :-)

They say something about many years of experience. Well, so why BMW is so far behind after market leaders?
Good cyberscooter design that will turn heads, but we, the electric riders would like to know more about the technology.
What kind of motor is in? How many rpm? Is it have regenerative braking?
What kind of batteries have? From which company, form factor and chemistry?
These are exciting times and we like to know more when revealed.
Permanent energized water-cooled 31kW engine. Max. 12300 rpm. Regenerative braking: yes. High-voltage battery is about 150V.

Indian Manufactures are offering 236 kms range in the scooters, Why BMW is behind?
in certain countries like mine, this is going to be 5x more expensive than in germany. so sad
BMW, why you have gone for Belt Drive....oh Yh Belt Drive wears quickly and customers have to come to BMW showroom and pay the maintenance then compared to Chain Drive which only needs few $$ for lubricating every now and then..... and also if BELT Drive is not properly inspected it can SNAP at any time and also can cause a serious life threatening situation..... way to go BMW...

The range is completely insufficient. This needs to have a 200 mile range and a 1000 mph top speed to justify the price tag.
Ein Scooter 🛵 im Cafe Racer-Format. Seine Leistungsmerkmale sicherlich top, in Sache Design sollten die BMW-Designer bei den italienischen Kollegen nachsitzen. Eine C1 Weiterentwicklung mit weiteren Sicherheitsfeatures stünde BMW besser und symbolisiert die wahre urbane Mobilität!. Setzen Note 5 , Thema verfehlt!

La bmw está bien hecha, es un buen producto y de calidad, con suficiente autonomia y velocidad para cualquier ciudad.
Posiblemente bmw dispondrá de accesorios como pantalla alta, agarramanos traseros o un baul para meter dos cascos, todo eso vendrá con el tiempo. Incluso veremos una versión con mas autonomia y velocidad al igual que ocurrió con la C-Evolution.
Edgar Heinrich en un alarde de innovación ha diseñado una moto diferente, impactante por delante y con un novedoso estilo cafe racer por detras. Los gustos son muy dispares pero hay que reconocer que esta moto pasa desapercibida.
La campaña la marketing española de Alexander von Scheidt y la francesa de la bella Nathanëlle Heinrich, son agresivas y basan la aparición de esta moto en la actual revolución de la movilidad sostenible.
Sin embargo, como propietario de varias motos electricas desde hace mas de una decada y como miembro del mayor club privado de motos electricas de España, habiendo tenido experiencias de todo tipo con motos electricas, solo me cabe decir, que lo que el cliente quiere es "autonomia, autoNOMIA, AUTONOMIA....¡¡¡¡¡¡"
Lo he visto con propietarios de las, Vectrix, Zero, Bramo,Silence, Sper soco.....etc.
Pagues lo que pagues, tienes que llegar a tu destino sin sudores y sin apretar el popo.

So why no video of someone (anyone) riding the damn thing. Looks to be a one off model with NO production model at all .... I'll believe it when I see it but even then, range is totally insufficient. And where exactly are you charging stations... the only 2 wheel that makes sense is one where the battery is REPLACED rather than recharged... pull in for service, battery pulled and newly charged one inserted, ride off... 5 minutes max.
A lot of hand movements in this presentation ... They kinda took my focus and attention way from the scooter thing ...

Who greenlit this? The specs are abysmal and the whole combination of features tells me it doesn't know what kind of product wants to be. A 12,000€ commuter? Get the hell outta here. You only had to make a Silence S01 with ABS for 9,000-10,000€ and I'd be happy.

Things like this erode my faith in BMW. What would make a better city commuter? An electric assist bike. Yet you already have E-bikes. You are solving a problem nobody has in favor of something with a range limit.

very disappointed in BMW, I had a 1983 R100CS and dreamed of the legendary RS, the K series came along and changed the twin's history, Nothing has been the same since. BMW was the leader in the design and vision of perfection. over the years it has left their, motto of "Be a leader" to " follow the leader". I look from time to time to see what BMW has to offer and sad to say I will not be buying another Bike from BMW again, sad very sad. Look to your past and revision your future.

Zero CO2 emissions? How they gonna charge the battery? Electricity from where? Coal? Or if Nuclear? Then what about radiation?
Battery components? Lithium? Where do they mine? Third world countries? No zero emissions on that? EV is not all Rainbow and Sunshine.
Only advantage I see in EV is instant torque availablity on demand. And almost a flat torque curve achievable with vector drives. Other than that its all gimmick.

Yes, you'll have emissions by producing electricity. But you also have them by production and transport of gasoline. It even need 1-2kWh electricity only to produce 1L gasoline. Of course, also electric mobiles have their ecological footprint, but they are much smaller than the footprints of ICE-vehicles, so it is a 1st step into right direction...
