The problems facing FL are massive and state-wide. We have no income tax, and our economy is heavily dependent on tourism. The folks in hospitality can't afford their rents. Nurses, police, teachers, retail employees, and most middle class folks can't afford escalating rents and mortgages. Our roads are overused and crumbling. Over development has exacerbated flooding during king tides, as drainage can't accommodate the rapid rise in population. Sewage pipes all over South FL continue breaking and leaking millions of gallons of raw sewage thru neighborhoods. DeSanctis has zero plans to address this. He's too busy touting the bogus "FL Way" to the rubes in Iowa and New Hampshire. He can't run a full-time national campaign while attending to the duties required in his day job. In fact, for years FL had a rule that you couldn't be Governor and campaign for national office simultaneously. Ronnie got his cronies to change that law- convenient, no?

Look at all the copy and pasted spam from the same people over and over. It's not like we can see you spamming this page raynor. And "woke" is what hateful people call compassion. Those who constantly whine against woke always seem to be the same people who whine about equality, come out with misogynist comments, or racism, or want to control other people's lives who are not affecting them in any way whatsoever, but they believe that they have the right to tell others what to do with their lives, irrespective of circumstance or situation. It's the authoritarians and fascists that complain the most about "woke" nonsense, and they have to invent things because their real issues are either so meaningless or so abusive of other people's rights, that they KNOW that they would get massive pushback. That's why Desatan here whines so much about "woke", but rarely gives real examples, instead fear-mongering about things that don't happen, or even worse, happened because of HIS actions, but like all other authoritarians who preach personal responsibility, they take none themselves for anything they do. Desantis is a hatemonger, he spends all his time making up lies to tell people, saying that this is what the "Libs" will do to you if they get control, knowing full well that he's lying, and that he himself has FAR worse plans for the people. This is the same lying POS that is STILL whining about Covid, but he made sure that he and his family got those shots right away! But he has openly said recently that MORE people should have died from Covid, and that it would have been good if they had! This is the man who made sure HE was protected, but did all he could to make sure that the people of his state were not only NOT protected, but it was illegal to get some of those protections! What "woke" really means is being compassionate for others, not just being a selfish, self obsessed turd. It means letting other people live their own lives as they wish, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. It means that you control yourself and are responsible for your own words and actions. Makes it obvious really why Republicans would be against these things, when they so desperately want total control of America, the government and the people, even though that is against the spirit and word of the Constitution. That's why Trump has said that he will tear down the Constitution if he gets in, install himself as "President for Life", take personal control of the DOJ and IRS to use as weapons against anyone who he thinks is against him, how he's going to strip the power from the House and Congress so that they cannot stop him doing whatever he likes. If THAT is what you really want for the United States of America, then you, like him, are a traitor to EVERYTHING that America has ever stood for, are standing against the Government, the Constitition, the Law and the People of the USA. If that kind of place is where you want to live, just leave the US and go live in North Korea with Trump's lover, or Russia with Trump's master. Unlike those places, you CAN leave America to live elsewhere. So go, live in the fascist dictatorship you lust after. But realise that even if Trump isn't barred from running due to the Constitution (He is) and isn't in prison for his crimes (He will be), YOU will NOT be in a better place in a Trump US Dictatorship. He and his rich friends will be at the top, and you will be nothing more than fodder, just like everyone else. You think that Trump will pluck you out of the crowd and elevate you to some high office, giving you millions of dollars? No. What will happen is the same that happens to ALL of Trump's cast off minions, you'll be thrown out with nothing, left to suffer the repercussions of your actions with no support from him at all, and he will not even know your name. Doubt me? Look at what has happened to EVERY ONE of those who has helped Trump. Thousands are in jail for him, from a couple of years to what amounts to life for some. He's promised to pardon them, but he could have done that before he left office, he just doesn't care. He could have pardoned ALL of his close advisers that are now being prosecuted for their actions, but he didn't, he doesn't care. Even those who asked didn't get pardons. A select few have, but even his closest, long term allies are in jail, without the pardons he COULD have given them, but didn't, because he doesn't care. He didn't even give his daughter a pardon for anything! The daughter he lusts after constantly! Nothing for her, nor her criminal husband. He only cares for himself, and he will do NOTHING for anyone else, just like he did last time. The ONLY ones who got anything last time were the foreign reps that gave him bribes, the obscenely rich and himself.

But bill is far from the only boomer celebrity whose brain has been melted by this practice.
None of YOU Trump worshippers got anything, nothing except for more and more demands that you give the so-called billionaire YOUR money for nothing.
And you wonder why the rest of the world is laughing at you Trump worshippers?
I think this was a very fair and level-headed debate.

Lmao why is that shorty wearing heels.
At last bill Maher has come out as a replacement for tucker Carlson
I dont like Desantis to be honest..
Nobody likes DeSantis.... but he makes some really good points.
He is 100% wearing heels. You can tell by how unsteadily he walks in and how high his pint leg is sitting
Clean house in the CDC and protect people from mRNA vaccines? This sounds insane to me. Maybe there could have been more ideal ways to manage the pandemic, but that’s all splitting hairs. There are side-effects to vaccines, but they save lives and overall are miraculous. This is a huge slap-in-the-face to all those people who worked tirelessly to save us from the pandemic.
Solid back and forth respectful conversation.
Nonsense. THERE WAS NO RESPECT FOR THE TRUTH ON EITHER SIDE
@@zapkvrthere’s truth in the covid talk. Trump was pushing vaccine lockdown amnesty talking points in his Megan Kelly interview
Ron let them make him the butt of jokes. Soon there’s going to be bill Maher with sunglasses shorts of the part where he tells him he has no chance of winning. That’s all most people will know of this interview and Maher’s team set the sound bite up
Great show scab I mean Maher
Isn’t the strike over?
@@docjoe86 obviously I'm talking of Maher position during the strike that ended on Tuesday
A f.. scab
I don't know. Two and a half minutes in, and I just couldn't be bothered anymore.
I am really amazed that Ron had a glimmer of likability here…
Bill has almost completed his Republican arc.
As someone on the centre left, I want Bill to have guests of all hues. Would I like him to challenge some more, sure but I don't think he's being overly biased to the right
@@Boghopper1979 he certainly showed his true colors during the writers' strike. Having guests of all hues would be great, but I am not holding my breath for Cornel West receiving the same platform (or respect) as DeSantis on his show, which would be the logical counterpart.
@@Boghopper1979It's not an issue that he invites right-wing guests. It's that he openly mocks and shits on the left, downplays how dangerous Republicans are and is all-around unlikeable smug, out of touch elitist.
I hope people like you don’t vote: if you think this man is a republican…
@@Boghopper1979his other youtube channel's audience is almost exclusively comprised of right wingers at this point. Do u think thats just a happy coincidence
Now this is a match up I didn't expect but am so happy to see!
Wish Bill wouldn't force a change of in topic every time Ron brings up facts that people deserve to be reminded of.
Doug Burgum looks like one of the Sesame Street muppets.
Is it just me, Ron DeSantis always reminds me of Frank Burns.
NAILDED IT !!!
Hilarious !
You mean both are hard to believe how can someone so uniqly unite so many human bad sides? Yes
How the 'liberal comedian" and audience became so warm to authoritarianism, is frightening, isn't it?
It is! What is up? I have loved Bill for years, not sure anymore.
@@denihp821 I used to watch Real Time every Friday since it launched back in the early 00's but in the last few years he started gravitating more to the right and became the annoying grumpy old man screaming at the clouds. Needless to day I have not seen a single episode since the episode with Bari Weiss when they said they are so over COVID
Damn did he really just say he wants to get rid of the CDC and NIH? That's crazy
He didn't say he wanted to get rid of the agencies. He said he wanted to fire the people who fucked up and replace them with people who actually know wtf they are talking about. Listen to it again

Ron can't even fix the insurance and rent issues in Florida.
What state has tho? NY? No. CAL? No. TX? No.
@@raydare2002Florida has the highest cost of homeowners insurance in the country by far. The fraud is unbelievable
He doesn't want to bother with it
Rent issues ? The only issue with rent is that rent is getting higher because so many people are moving to Florida creating more demand and less supply... it's not an "issue", it's just basic economics.
Not the role of government to interfere in the private market.
