The author of Frieren managed to perfectly create a likable character, kill him off in the first ep/chapter, and fill us with the same regret Frieren did of not getting to know him better. And you amv creator have done the extra perfect job of conveying the feelings of bittersweet regret sorrow and love Frieren felt and that the author tried to convey in this short amv then most people can do with an entire season of anime. Yet, through Frieren's recollections of him, both she and us get to remember him for the kind of person he was (Heiter and Eisen too ofc). The writing for this series is phenomenal

Their close friends were attending and when they were in the whole you may kiss the bride thing. They leaned in closer and Himmel placed his hand over Frieren’s lips.

In any other anime, Himmel is the main protagonist and we see him grow through battles and struggles. In all my years of watching and reading, I never thought that I could feel such absence and longing for a character that is barely even mentioned. The tiny snippets of his flashbacks and his words hit so hard emotionally.
I just realized the clock tower symbolizes the only thing that stands between them - time. Time for Frieren to Love. Time that Himmel doesn't have. Time that stands between them. Time that will take them apart.
One small detail I absolutely loved in series was Heiter and Eisen being overjoyed by seeing all those flowers and Himmel having a personal favourite. Seeing something that showed men love flowers was a beautiful scene. Because we do. I love sunflowers, hydrangeas, lilies, and orchids. It was such a great background scene to see them running round.
First episode made a lot of us cry.... Imagine what the last and final one in the future could do to us.... I hope our creator bless me a life to still watch it.

I was the quiet "smart" kid in school. Only had few close friends that were willing to put up with me, but, because I was socially awkward, I rarely hung out with them outside of school. I was also raised by my grandparents because my mother died in childbirth and my father committed suicide. One night, my friends begged me to see a movie with them, after all we talked about it for months. It was their attempt to get me out of the house. Sadly they never made it thanks to a drunk driver. I lost my grandparents a few months later and only a few days apart due to illness. What little family I had left completely dissolved in the chaos following their funerals. I lost so much so quickly that I just sort of shoved it away and moved on, never really dealing with it. I lived alone, submerged in a fog of depression for nearly a decade before a few coworkers broke through my shell and started dragging me out to "see the world." It took awhile but I started thinking of them as friends. I started having dreams of my old friends and my grandparents, and finally grieved. I reflected on all the memories I missed out on by not spending more time with them, or even really getting to know them outside of just them "existing" in my life. I even blamed myself for a while. That if they hadn't spent so much time arguing with me and begging me to go, that they would've missed that drunk...or that if I had paid more attention, I would have noticed my grandparents getting sicker. A story like this, especially as well written as it is... Hits pretty hard.
The first episodes were so good and beautiful, really enjoyed it so far and already can't wait for more! Loved Frieren's tribute to Himmel :')) This edit truly is stunning, really brings out the essence of the anime I think ^^ ...also the crack in Himmel's voice at 0:50, sobs sobs... (part of it being his old age but also due to how emotional he must have felt, I'm sure)
