As someone who plays exclusively a wizard in every single rpg ever , this series touched my soul in a way like no other

In an RPG, it is more about how you can use the magic that you find, the strategies and utilities you can adapt it to. However, for the character, I suspect the formulation of the magic would be more the interest.

A strange anime, no screaming, no noise, no exaggeration, overdoing the happy, crying, touching actions. No over-the-top comedy scenes, no buffing of friendship power, mental strength, ...
It is completely opposite to the standard of a normal fantasy anime.
Frieren is an anime that is 90% conversations that you can encounter anywhere in life.
It can be said that Frieren is an anime that has nothing, but strangely it has everything.

@@NadiaLevithe subtitles are a beautiful fond, but barely legible in the first minute of the video, especially with them being transparent. So you take focus away from the core message which is the music and composition to trying to read the meaning of the words. I’d suggest to keep the translation sparser and let the the music and images tell the story more.
Also I did mention that I was in a bad mood, that’s never a time to appreciate art, so that is on me, not you.

It's a little like computer programming, some programs are novel, some are just beautiful but even ugly flawed programs often work well enough to be sold and the programmer promoted. She's just just searching for the beauty in magic and for new approaches. She's not looking for magic that works or is even useful, but for magic that works beautifully.
