Great video, very informative. I know you probably have to get consent to record on customer property, but any chance you could revisit or follow up from past videos or make videos of before and after that showcase what you’re teaching everyone. Speaking for myself I love the visuals. Keep up the hard work Chad!
I would love to do more of that. Irs difficult to ask for permission and follow up with how I busy I have been. Hopefully I can some people hired to give me more time to do those things.
Right on Chad; you hit it on the head by also adding micros. Showing some love to the soil is key, and adding humic & sea kelp once a month the grass will thank you later!😬😎
Thanks for another great video, Chad! I'm wondering since your channel has the word "organics," is everything you recommend pretty organic and safe for areas where chickens graze and children run around in?
I do my best to recommend Organic. But not many options for homeowners out there. Until their are more Organic options which we are working I make to sure to teach people how to use the products properly. Even if the product isn't organic I like to teach how to not over use them and use them safely. Now for fertilization yes. Everything we use and the stuff I mainly recommend are safe for pets and kids. For weed control chickens are a different story. I have not found any selective herbice to use where chickens craze.
Going to have to watch a few times, hey chad I put down some black cow and sand on some spotty areas in central florida flortam about a week ago. My grass hasnt started growing yet in the good areas. The black cow is still showing on the top of the grass is that ok, some good grass was below it.
In 6 days it will be a month since I put down the same mix at my easement. Its not an instant fix, it takes time. I do have some growth coming in, but mine was a couple of fairly large patches once I raked up the dead stuff. Probably could have got a few pieces of sod but I wanted to give this a shot and just see how it does. This may not help much, but overall be patient I guess is the message.
It will take some time!! St. Augustine grass likes to be a pain. The runner should start shooting that way in the 1 st month. Its speeds up after that!! Just keep an eye on the area and make sure it's getting enough water.
Love your content. Do you know of any organic pre emergent for crabgrass in st augustine? It keeps creeping in from my neighbors lawn. I really don't want to manually pull it all and lay new sod because I know it's going to come back next year
Great video! Thank you! This seemed to help my lawn, however, I’m seeing a few patches of torpedo grass in my St Augustine lawn. DoMyOwn states that “Dismiss NXT” is safe to use on st Augustine grass to control torpedo grass….. is this true???
Hi Chadd, what do you think of Milorganite 6 4 0? It gets great reviews but I’m concerned about the no potassium. Are you familiar with Vigoro 15 5 10. Is this a good spring fertilizer?
The miliorgnite is a great summer fertilizer. You need more Nitergeon for your spring application. I'm not familiar with the 15 5 10, but that would work as a good spring fertilizer, then use miliorgnite through the summer.
Dude, great videos! I have St. Augustine grass in central FL. I was using Scotts products before but after learning about their high levels of nitrogen, I decided to do my own customized plan based off your year lawn care program video. This past weekend I applied Sunniland Weed and Feed 20-0-6. In late April I am going to apply Spectracide Trizicide Insect Killer which includes grubs. In May and July planning to apply Milorganite for iron and minerals during the summer. Late October, apply Sunniland again. I'm excited bc I have not used any of these products before. What do u think Chad? Thanks!
That's a great plan!! You will see major difference from the Scott's products. The only thing I can think to add is a liquid herbicide like avenue south.
Hi Chad. I have some Sunniland 15-0-15 with insect control. Would that be a good option for the spring? Also need to apply a post emergent. Can I apply after fertilize or how long should I wait?
What should I do if I miss the opportunity to lay a pre emergent? I live in South Texas and my soil temp is already in the 80s. Is there another opportunity to lay the pre emergent?
You can do pre emergent now. You missed preventing all the summer seeds from last year. But it will still help prevent new seeds from growing. It will still work, just not be as effective.
First time homeowner. Should I mow my yard first and then add the fertilizer or the other way around? Also I have existing weeds already. Can I add a post emergent after fertilizing the yard or add the post emergent first and then the fertilizer? Thanks in advance!!
Mowing won't matter for fertilizer. It is better to get weeds a bit more under control before fertilization. It is better to treat weeds before mowing.
Absolutely!! If they are both granuler you cannot mix the granuler together. You need to one pass with one product only then a other pass with the other product. Mixing them if they are granuler could mess up the rates.
Hello any recommendations..I used the Spectracide Weed Stop For Lawns Plus Crabgrass Killer Concentrate … 2 weeks ago on my Saint Augustine grass and weed !!!now it turned yellow and seems dying..is there is a any way that I can save my grass..thanks
Quick question. Is milorganite a good option for spoon feeding my lawn. I normally use ironite but it doesn’t give me that deep green color throughout the rest of the summer season.

Absolutely!! Big believer in those micros!! I call them the vitamins for the lawn.
Central and south FL should be a month ahead of you

do you have a video for a drought program?
Not really. That's a good idea. Water more and apply soil into the area. My soul video would be a good one to watch.

@@bethlav3457 been hearing great things about their products.
Hi,when can i weed and feed after using the pree mergent? ThanksChadd
Technically, you could do it right after. They wouldn't affect each other. I recommend waiting for March until you start to really feed the lawn.
Hi Chad. I have some Sunniland 15-0-15 with insect control. Would that be a good option for the spring? Also need to apply a post emergent. Can I apply after fertilize or how long should I wait?
15 0 15 is fine. The new growth will just be a little slower because of the equal N and K.
If you are spot treating with a liquid you should be ok.
Hi Chadd! Can the Pre-Emergent and Fertilizer bags store in a garage all year long? Or do they have to be stored at a particular temperature? Thanks!
They just need to stay dry!!!

Scotts Bonus S is not a good pre-emergent?
It's not a pre emergent at all. It's a post a post emergent with fertilizer. It's not a very good post emergent either.
More than a comment is a question, how to conserve the unused product in the bag?help
Hi Cadd. I have St Augustine grass can I use Spectracide Weed Stop Crabgrass Preventer granules as a Pre-Emergent?
That will work. Just make sure to rotate pre emergents.
Can I rotate with BioAdvanced Science-Based Solutions Season Long Lawn Weed Killer + Preventer?
@@Rachel-s1t that would work!!
Thanks!!
