Brother. You have helped me have the nicest lawn in my neighborhood. Everything you have to offer has been beneficial to my progression. I've noticed what you've done with your new property and felt like this could be a prepper kind of thing but good for you. Always prepared and ready. There is NO substitute for bettering your family. Appreciate your content DOC! FYI. I'm on my fifth year of your advice. My lawn is beautiful, healthy and easy to maintain. Thanks, my man.

I've learned a lot from your videos and have gone from worst to best lawn. I'm doing a similar farm, a tip you might like is look at bifacial solar panels and use them as vertical fencing. You could make a chicken pen or just a privacy fence. Looks nice and easy to build. Some let natural light through. Fyi

Yes, we have spent the past 6 months doing a LOT of learning... but bifacial not really needed for our app

Try using Green Shocker, once soil temp/air temp hits the 80s. I'm in central Texas and our temps during last summer caused drought conditions and watering was limited to twice a week and before 10am and after 7pm. Grass stayed green.

Although we cooled down to high 30s this a.m. here in SE texas we spent last week in mid-upper 70s. Bermuda got scalped two weeks ago. There's a fast growing green sheen across the entire lawn already. I put high nitrogen/iron fertilizer down this past Friday. We're probably 3 weeks ahead of you in mid-Georgia. Gotta go by your prevailing climate, latitude, and soil temps.

I have the self-propelled Ego mower and I have mixed feelings. Doesn’t mow as sharp as a gas mower and unless your lawn is perfectly smooth it surges and cuts unevenly. It also doesn’t pick up leaves and debris like a gas powered mower. It is however convenient, clean and “green”. I feel like the technology is not exactly where it should be at this point. Sometimes I wish I had both gas and electric mowers.

It would be possible to apply fertilizer and seed to it with the spreader to restore the lawn which has weeds and several dry areas with very little volume of grass. I have never worked with grasses and I don't know if after putting seed to make the grass grow if I can also put fertilizer to prevent weed. The grass type is Fecue and the date is 4/22/24, I'm in NC

Looking forward to the new lawn video series on this new property Mike as this property more closely represents the yards that most of us have in NE Georgia. Question - I keep seeing conflicting advice on the application of lime/pre-emergent & fertilizer. Since my application of my pre-emergent is being delayed due to the tree & stump removal I want to ensure that I get this right. Should I lime first or apply my pre-emergent separately after watering in the lime wait a week then throw out the pre-emergent or vice-versa? Or can I just throw all 3 out at one time?

I did a soil from The Andersons and their tests only gives you parts per million results and not actual NPK requirements which make finding a recommended fertilizer very difficult. I wrote to them for clarification and not only did they not tell me the NPK number that my lawn actually needs, but then they told me that the recommendation of PGF Balance 10-10-10 at the lbs they told me was too much by weight and i should split the treatment. I get a soil test to get the recommendation, but then I'm told it's wrong? Never doing a test from The Andersons again.
