Empathise with regards to influx of tourists. West Coast of Scotland is the same now. Incredibly rare to see someone else fishing 5-10 years ago. Now it's crazy. Caravans, convoys, people shitting in lay-bys & leaving their mess. Social Media (and ironically UA-cam!) have really opened peoples eyes to these places. We've got to start encouraging low impact tourism when it comes to these remote areas.

It is very sad brother, I'm almost afraid to return and fish some of the old marks in the Highlands, I fished in the 90s. Yes UA-cam has got something to do with it, unfortunately! Thanks brother 😁👌

Billy you have made me a happy fella .lofoten is a place I never thought I would see again ..
Many years ago I travelled to the place in a Austin A 55. Van. I just realised just how long ago that was...and how old i am now.
Anyway back to your stunning video .I don't know how you keep producing video that are very interesting and informative to watch..
Fair play brother .I only hope you get the recognition that you truly deserve...
I did not drive the van back home because I sold it to a dear friend who at the time had made Norway his home.. as far as I know he still has it.
Try the place later on in the season I'm glad to see that you are thinking outside the box with your lures..I don't know what it is but fish seems to get used to seeing the same lures time and time again and ignore them...
Try adding a tea spoon less the handle to the orange coulrd jig depicted in this video it will add a spinning motion to it.on a slow retrieve..??
Anyway this is only my thought .
As I have always said yourself safe and well brother .. especially clambering over rocks .
I'm looking forward to watching your next video.

Brother it took me two months all together but I have never been in a rush to get anywhere...
There was so many places to fish..that time just did not matter . and to be honest the same thing applies today...
Over the years billy I have been lucky to have found work in many countries ..in Europe and many other places . Around the world..
My belief is that you work to live and not live to work..A lot of people have asked me did I ever felt afraid . fishing in the middle of nowhere..
Only once when a polar bear decided to take a close look at me. . anyway after it had pinched the fish I had caught thankfully it left me alone..
Thank god I did not had to have shot it.. anywhere inside the artic circle you are likely to encounter bears of one sort or another.
To me they are wonderful creatures .who are only looking for food and Not looking to harm you .
Anyway brother . Thanks for taking the time to download your videos for people like myself to view.
Unfortunately I am not able anymore to visit countries inside and out side of the article circle..
Due to my health issues. Unfortunately age does not come without it's problems...do I regret spending my life searching for the fish of a life time not in the least..
World I do it all over again .yes without a shadow of it doubt. ..
Like I said many times make sure you are safe..no matter where you are..
There is one thing I never thought I would see in my life time ..on a resent visit to my birth place and this . was people putting Thier difference aside and marching side by side .in harmony
Under one banner.. this made me believe that the troubles of the past have finally ended. .
This was one of my most happiest days of my life to have witnessed this.. hopefully it will continue.to blossom..

Quick question, I use your BF knot for braid to mono , however I can’t seem to get it to work when joining 20lb braid to a heavier braid (top shot) what knot do you suggest for joining braid to braid?

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  Місяць тому +1

I use this knot for everything! I'm not sure how you're tying it, what it seems to me it might be upside down. The lighter line ties around the heavier line. 5 at the top eight down below, and the same on the way back! If this doesn't work, you're tying it wrong!

The quantity of fish might have been down, but the quality wasn't. It's a real shame that tackle developers are taking advantage. When you find a niche it would be great to know you can monetise elements of it, both for you benefit and the end consumer. Last time I was up north it was a pretty dreadful week of fishing (not just me - everyone was having similarly rubbish results) from the shore. I look forward to returning in the near future for a redemption trip. Another great video - thanks for sharing 🙂

Great stuff Billy. Inspired me to construct my own lures. I mainly spearfish in Norway and have found almost all the large Pollack and Cod to be crawling with parasites, therefore necessitating immediate gutting after dispatching to preserve the best quality eating. The larvae migrate to the fish flesh from the organs upon sensing death so you gotta gut fast.... Loving the vids you're a boss. Favorite spot on the west coast?

A big hello to you Billy fishing, found your videos while looking through UA-cam and really like them, my question is when you drive through Norway fishing off different shores and piers do you need to get permission to fish from them or is it just a case of park up and fish?.
Anyway great videos and I enjoy watching them from the UK. Fishing in Norway looks amazing and certainly more productive than what I can get in Cornwall from the shore!, tight lines 🎣🎣

Hi. If there are no signs or gates prohibiting you from entering, generally it's okay just to fish! Sometimes they are private, but then they will just ask you to leave. No harm done! Glad you like the videos, thanks Brother 😁👌

Hi David. I would gladly share my ideas for free! But there's no accounting for lack of talent and greed in tackle developers! Unfortunately I hadn't seen that one coming. The claim to have the well-being of anglers in mind when they design their tackle! The truth is they're just thieves. Thanks Brother 😁👌

The irony of posting on social media and then saying it's full of other anglers wellI never. Never reveal your marks you've probably worked hard to find them remember your supposed to be doing this for your own satisfaction .

Hi Paul. The only time I tell people where I'm fishing ! Is when it's a place that really doesn't matter. Apart from that the answer is always the same. Apologies brother but I don't tell people where I fish. If you were talking about what I said and the end of the video. I was referring to tackle developers stealing other people's ideas. Thanks Brother
