Without reading other comments, and off the top of my head: - Strafe bug - 2fps strafe is possible on client side, but not server side, which causes 7 arrows to actually go off instead of 10 when you hold the mouse button down. Also restricts movement for a few frames, because server side is still firing arrows. - Inferno and the druid cold version of it (forgot its name) doing around 1/3 of the intended damage - Any cube recipe which yields ethereal armor pieces has eth bonus re-applied. This is because they "fixed" a bug where upgrading eth unique/rare armor pieces lost the eth bonus. - You can still teleport outside the map in some locations, most notably the tower cellar and act 3 jungles - Hell Baal exp caps out at /players 3 while Hell Diablo exp caps out at /players7 - unsure if bug or feature - Fire enchanted bug was fixed for hell, but not for nightmare, which can at times kill high HP characters in nightmare. - Pindleskin may re-trigger death effects when the game tries (and fails every time) to reanimate him - Lightning enchanted monsters who are also fire and/or cold enchanted trigger an invisible version of their fire/cold death explosion whenever hit. The "charged bolts carry cold damage" bug - Flayer type monsters have several sounds they should make, but don't after LoD. - If you update old characters (pre-LoD) to LoD without opening them in 1.07 (first version of LoD), some very strange things can happen to set/rare items. Rare items get rerolled from BOTH the pre-LoD classic affix pool AND the new one, which can lead to 20% faster cast rings, +4 class skill amulets, 179% goldfind rares, among other things. Set items may have the wrong set assigned for its base item, so that you end up with eg. Death's belt still being a sash, but now part of Iratha's set. Don't know if "still exists" really applies to that one. - Mercs can turn invisible and/or untargetable - You can "quest bug" any act boss online. However, you need a character who haven't completed said act boss quest, and a game where the quest is already done. Typical usage would include running meph for items in baal games. - Mephisto is clearly levitating, but can't levitate over otherwise impassable terrain. This is so that his drops won't be lost. Andariel may still attempt to drop items on impassable terrain, and these items ARE lost. Also, you can use Find Items on corpses on impassable terrain. This may produce items which cannot be reached by the character. - Most chests which are not in act V have their seeds truncated to 16 bits, which leads to them having "only" around 65k different drops (depending on players setting; locked chests do one additional drop attempt). This leads to some relatively stable drops, which can be exploited to farm runes. - Gaining a level while mid-whirlwind with the skill granted from an item will cause the character to continue the whirlwind animation and render any command futile. This is only fixed by exiting the game. - Buffs like Battle Orders or Shout may not apply if casted directly after using a waypoint, without moving ever so slightly first - Waypoints tab may be opened by telekinesis, but can't be used if the character is too far away. Very annoying for Pandemonium Fortress WP.
Nice list. The only others I can think of are- - Fetish Shamans not resurrecting the dead like it says that they do. - all variations of Diablo besides Normal difficulty have a bugged lightning hose that does no damage if you stand close to Diablo -The Green flying birds in act 3 haven’t worked for quite some time. Sometimes you will find them frozen in place.
@@DD_Quack Everywhere except in act 5. Lower Kurast is especially popular due to the superchests inside huts by the campfire(s). Note that the 65k different drops change with players setting, and locked chests can drop additional items. The bug does not apply to objects that cannot be locked - these still have 4.3 billion possible drop patterns.
Hey man I'm 27 years old now. I LOVED diablo lod when I was young. I remember being about 10 and intercepting somebody drop trading a full inventory of sojs. Getting a perfect gaze from andrial. And a valor from cows. You bring back many memories.
Good video. regarding ST bug you could have mentioned self sustaining items ;) Also the worst glitch i have ever encountered is when you are in the tal rasha tombs and there is this pile of goo in the corner of two wooden shelves and the moment you step on it, you cannot move unless you have teleport. Also the other glich is when you cannot enter portals and speak to anyone or interact with items so you are dsynced and to fix it you can enter the WP and teleport to any other location without the need to reentering the server. This is quite usefull for summoner

@@Coooley Yes, and can be done in A5 aswell (ubers for sure, nilatak untested). Last time i tested was in 1.13, but i highly doubt they patched it in 1.14. Using the same "floor overflow" trick in the tower's entrance causes portals to never appear, despite being wasted properly XD
Playing this game so much as a kid and there's still tons of information I missed. I remember watching Andys quest "re-completing" which I assume was actually the "bug" or feature as someone notated. Great video. I especially enjoy the fact that you speak with a normal voice and not some weird or actor-style voice. Those videos get quite annoying to watch. Typically I just flip through those to find the information I need, but yours I actually watch.
One of my favorite old "glitches" was when (I think kolbot) had a bumperless g-rush script addon that would force packets to open / bypass the ancients gate. A level 1 character would use the packet to get thru the ancients door, have to walk all the way to baal after being cleared, and then could kill baal and progress, even though ancients wasn't done. I used to do them a lot and people would argue every time because I had no bumper character until they saw my level 1 character running thru to baal.
I found a 4 socket divine scepter with 2 to blessed hammer many years ago. I saw that it was a mace type of weapon. So i pulled up my runes and nothing... Lesson learned.

I remember White gear for a while. Your outfit was completely white and the stats were hacked OP. It all circulated for quite a while then got a patch finally. It would be dope to see a video on that if you had any info on it. Not exactly glitch related, but hey it was one of those things like, you better have 27 SoJs to trade for 1 piece or pay 75 bucks lol.

EDIT : I believe players A & B must not be in a party when the kill is made.
the baal skip bug I remember in baal runs way back in the day, back when games didn't realm down as much from going through baal runs faster, used to be a strat to skip wave 3 to avoid those hydras that slow down the run. we had a bit of different tactic for doing the skip, since it was done in 7-8 player games, involved everyone teleporting out of the throneroom after wave 2 and one player triggering the bug. If d2r doesn't have realm down or otherwise prevent games being recreated quickly, I can see this strat being very useful again.
I remember a huge glitch back in the old d2 days, get a barb to use frostwind and hold the arctic blast on first click then have leap on 2nd click and leap as you holding it. When people hostile you your hp doesn't drop below 1 hp. Never told anyone about it back in the day so might still exist in older d2
Strength bug is how everyone knows it, actually shoulda been called charm bug, because all charms do not properly show their effects on the opponent's side. Your items can be bugged by Dexterity as well. Also all frw from charms does causes desync as it does not show as active on the opponent's side, same as frw on equipment that is bugged by the str/dex from charms that is needed for it. Also to note, although its not too noticeable, this charm bug will also mess with weapon and cast animations for the opponent.
One I used to use was the marrow walk glitch on a bone necro. If you didn't put any points into bone prison and put on marrow walk boots it granted you 33 skill points into bone prison as if you had put those 33 points there. The important thing was that it worked with the other bone spell synergies. The only down side was you could not cast bone prison outside of the charges on the boots.
Another documented glitch is on the Skill double throw on the barb where the AR bonus after the 1st point doesn't add any AR or dmg. On top of other skill glitches.
The Diablo 2 engine was remarkably well-built (either that or very simple); the bugs in D2 pale in comparison to any Bethesda game (which I love dearly, too)
Have you done the "pop" glitch? more than 10 years ago i was fooled by a player promising to dupe the items on my body. i let him kill me over and over without picking up my corpse and eventually all of the items for my bowazon dropped on the ground. He stuck around to tease me a bit about stealing all of my endgame gear, and then i stopped playing the game for a few years. I was mad at the time, but now I think about it as a unique encounter with a non-npc villan. D2 is still easily my favorite video game of all time. Love the historical content, the programmers perspective is interesting. good work :)
The tomb vipers physical damage bug can easily be negated by wearing items with "damage reduced by X" (NOT damage reduced by X%) Edit: I don't remember the specific amount, but I think it's actually pretty low, compared to the damage they actually do.
See if you can find any information on the Moonwalking glitch. Not sure how it happened to me, but WAY back in the day, I somehow ended up doing the Horadric Amulet quest twice or something. After my sorc smashed the alter a second time, she was running around backwards for the remainder of the game. It was the funniest thing ive ever seen, and I've only seen one video on youtube showcasing it.
Weapon swap bug. Always you to swap cast speeds of spells or cast speed and attack speed. For instance charge bolt and lightning have different break points so I swap cast might lighting to move up a break point since lightning doesn't hit a possible breakpoint but you can increase to the next break point for a 30% increase in damage. You can swap cast on every character. Getting hammerdins without enigma to teleport using charge. And so on.
im most intrestd in glitches that are useful to advancing the game. the andarial quest glitch is the most interesting one i have seen and i keep hoping there are more like it.
UUUUUHH BLIZZARD.... the amount of bugs in the game is literally never ending. Even some of the most powerful skills in the game come from bugs..even Blessed Hammer isn’t even supposed to work with Concentration to just get started...lmao. Also nice video dude!
Yeah, Blizz neglected D2 for a decade. I remember when people were putting the bug fix code in the forums and even offering to do the coding for free, and Bashiok mocked them. great service...
Blessed Hammer + Concentration was a bug they fixed in 1.04 and then reverted when folks yelled about it. I put it in roughly the same category as Smite always hitting - originally a bug but definitely part of the game now.
I remembered once there were black hole pk and assertion error pk, we need to run red scull proxy to block to hack signal which may kill you. it was before the warden implantation
Wow, I'd never thought that poison clouds coming from tomb vipers deal physical damage. I wonder what exact number of physical damage it causes. I think phys dmg reduction builds(such as IPDR assassin) can completely negate physical part of damage of poison cloud.

Thanks, I think the viper poison damage bug is fixed in D2R now(not in D2); actually this does not only happen in A5, but anywhere Viper appear, for example in A2. Hope they backport it to D2(maybe, or maybe they will not fix it as they want to move all ppl to D2R)
Hidden Cube recipe to reroll amount of open sockets on a weapon is 3 normal grade skulls. Haven't seen it written anywhere else on the internet apart than discovering it myself by mistake with a 5 OS Ogre Maul that was rerolled into a 6 OS accidentally.

Omg finally I know how I died. My lv 98 sorc #1 on the hardcore ladder right after the 1.10 patch died in nightmare mode in the viper caves helping a friend. I dropped in one second I couldnt full rej or leave and was so confused how in nightmare with the best gear in the game I died so fast.
mana burn, mdr/pdr overflow with es, lightning enchanted + fire/cold enchanted monsters. (not sure if last one applies to beetles) but damn that's annoying bug.
Dont know if someone said it , but the single player starting act 5 with skills and stats, thing is gotta go back act 1 and do all quests , create shortcut on your d2 on computer (desktop) and go to properties then space -W -act5 there ya go enjoy fun with plugy

However I feel we should maybe be careful with talking/showing some of these bugs to the "public" most of them are really good/useful when used correctly and would suck if blizzard starts "fixing" some of these glitches for D2R. Coooley: About the Andariel quest bug... So, when you kill Andariel for the first time, do you just go to the next act as fast as possible to activate the glitch while Andariel is in her death animation? Does this bug work per difficulty you try it on?
Yes, it's a per difficulty thing. All that matters is to kill her and go to act 2 in the same game. So, the only way to ruin the glitch is to leave the game before going to act 2. If you're interested to know how to glitch Duriel aswell, follow the instructions in one of my other replies. Cheers.
There are maaaaaaaaaaany more, but many of them (like str/dex bug) makes the game playable and should never be removed. Try playing pvp with a bow amazon that does not desync. Ur dodge/fbr/fhr stuck at an instance. The wepon swap glitch wich breaks stun animation also makes the game Great. And stun chars would be extreamly overpowered without. There is also a bunch of skills bugs that can be used, most of them are not viable anymore. Farcast cs was luckely patched. But i think the charge/hammer skillbug is still there. With that u can make it look like ur standing in 1 spot casting hammers faster than it should be possible, meanwhile ur actually charging around with 100% sync and can strike at any given moment. An low fcr zon can skillbug teleport with an fast ias related skill and use that ias frame for teleport speed, but its quite laggy. You can also mindblast with the breakpoint of dragon talon, but you have to be close so its not really usefull, and u cannot swap between skills as easy or wsg which will break the bug. With strenght/dex bugs several features comes as well: Casting of invisible projectile, blaze, walls and stuff that last a while like psn clouds, blizz, fire effect and hammers/spirit and such. My throwbarb utulize many bugs. However this does not make it op. First i str bug. Which makes me cast invisible projectile, my name is ZerkU so people sometimes dont know how they got hit. It also desync like a mofo since enigma, valk 08, upped GoreRider are desynced. Then i wsm bug my wep. I use ghost glaive (20 base wsm speed, super slow wep with 7xx throw dmg) over gloves. I put lacerator(low dmg -10 wsm axe who got 33% chance to amplify dmg) over boots. Then i lift up the slow wep and put back at same location "flash it". This bugs the wsm speed. (Leftwsm + right wsm) /2 + (right wsm-left wsm). In which case gives me -25 wsm and with 105 ias i reach 6,25 attacks pr sec. When you reach this ias my barb also dissapear on enemy screen when i throw at this speed. It kinda fades out. When i wsm bugged the fastest wep (boot side) becomes main, lacerator got 30ias, which means my ghost glaive dont need ias, cause it only follow main wep and is being forced to cast between each main wep cast. This wsm bug allows some cool builds that are not commonly used. And none of them are overpowered, but after 20 years i dont wanna play the coockie builds anymore. That barb got some other cool features as well, such as: 3wc/life tap charges/falfal and 3wc/lower res charges/falfal bo wepons. (which is used for str bugging reasons as well). Making it a triple curse barb as well for giggles. It also uses bugged items and prepatch items such as: - Prepatch torch 25% chance to cast firestorm (if enemy got stuns wirl by wc it stuns as well). - Bug belt - valkyrie wing 08 C/t tele/longer range snipe/blizz/fissure May be a bug as well. Wirlwind hit chance is bugged when dual wielding: When 1 wepon misses, it use that attack rating on all hits for both wepons until next hit. This limits the effect of forexample using a fool's mod claw on a wirl assassin. There are so many bugs, but hard to remember them on the fly, revive necromancers can abuse those viper psn clouds, and if u enchant them all with a sorc u can deal over a million dps of overlapping dmg ez. But fact is: 99% of the current bugs are of an none issue, and actually makes this game Great for pvp. It offers more builds, which are not op. Forexample a bug belt May be the make or break of an 3hybrid telezon, meanwhile a hammerdin can own just as good with a dungo(ofc bug belt better, but its not make or break). Hybrid runewords also is a key factor in making fun none meta builds. A shaper dru benefits heavy from highlord 08, meanwhile its useless for most other builds. (i love the valk 08 + hl 08 + bug belt combi on bvc for epic high frw/63fcr/usefull Damage reduction chainzerks which enemies has problem to abuse with walkstyle) even so a shaper is considered a super low char in pvp, and medium for pvm. (i was able to make a super 100fcr tele hybrid wolf with 165frw desynced, but that one costs a fortune and is not op). Another bug is: All throwing skills of amazon does not add the listed attack rating % bonus. Throwing mastery adds multiplicative on single throw. Which can reach really high dmg, but its not op. Double throw on the other hand displays multiplicative dmg, but its infact not. Which means my ghost glaive displays as 14k dmg, but is in fact around 6k before critic/deadly strike. There are like 100 or maby more display bug. Grief does not display its *dmg. % elemental dmg display a buff on lightning sentry/wof etc, but thats fake, they are considered minions and therefor does not gain ur character %adds from items. And many more. Anyway, if they patch desync, str bug, wsm bug, hybrid runewords(the ones that still exists, the method is patched) and other prepatch items they break the game. If they should change something, they should remove most of the delays druid fire skills has towards shapechange skills. They should also at least double all the fire skills of druids dmg. It wont affect pvm since 90% of monsters are immune in pvm. For pvp it would make them at least low tier viable. I actually has a fireclaw druid, with decent gear. Its one of the weakest chars i ever had, yet its so funny combination, but its low dmg/bad fhr/fbr breaks and the fact that shapechange werewolf/werebear is not a uninteruptible skill and all the delays(like 10-20 seconds from u cast armageddon to u can shapechange, and like 15 seconds if cast volcano) Dmg wise, lets compare: Fireclaw: 15-18k dmg, needs to roll hit by hit chance formula and is blockable, not ranged and single target and ned to be close. Fireball: splash/aoe skill, ranged, 25k dmg. Fissure/blizz: A max dmg gear fissure(completely fucking all other relevant stats) deals like 8-9k dmg and - 75 enemy fr. Creates big delays. A max dmg blizz got 17k dmg, -250 enemy cold res and Creates a super small delay. And 90% fire res is super easy to obtain. (hotspurs / sop + wws) I Even have an es blizz with 105fcr/86fhr/45% dr/75@ res in hell/max block/3,4k mana/1,5k life/15repl/20tk/95% es. Deals 9,8k dmg and -270 enemy cr. This 1 taps many chars, meanwhile a max dmg fissure ticles most chars. So that should be next improvement. Double both physical and fire dmg on fireclaw/fissure/volcano/armageddon/moulten/firestorm. Remove delays towards shapechange. Maby have a look to remove some cast to cast delays as well. +make shapechange werewolf/werebear uninteruptible skill like zeal/smite/rabies/wirl etc. Even fury should be uninteruptible skill, its barely usefull in pvp, my wolf deal 98% of its dmg by rabies in pvp. Compare that to zeal palas. (holy shield, free max block and Great res, epic dmg via grief, uninteruptible.)
Is that andy bug attached to just the the character who did it or to your account for all your future characters? What happens if I trigger the bug with one guy, then play another character and decide to talk to everyone missing out the special loot drop? Can I still go back to the 1st character who triggered the bug and still have it enabled?
I've known about the Andariel quest drop bug for what feels like forever. Something I am curious about that I haven't had a chance to test though, is does the Andariel quest bug exist in non-expansion? If so, when you convert a character from non-expansion to expansion with the bug active, does the bug remain after the conversion? I don't have Diablo 2 installed at the moment since I am waiting for Resurrected to come out in a few weeks so I can test it. I am curious because I plan to set up a Sorc for CRushing and also want to play my first character through non-expansion first. So I am curious if I can get the bug to trigger, and maintain it after converting to expansion. Anyone willing to test all of this in current version of D2 or know how it will work?
With the wave skip for Baal, couldn't you just pull the group out of the room into the back near the entrance and then teleport back to the Baal room and it'll skip? I vaguely recall that being a thing..
simply make level restrictions or private game. its no big deal finishing an act and starting new game. sure it can be annoying if it's in your path but totally preventable.
Please cover PK by means of act 1 mercenary, while standing inside the Rogue encampment. That’s when my cousin quit HC. I on the other hand, got lots of “safe” red portals.... kills on my hoofs, I mean, who me?
What about having zero defense when running? When running, enemies will always hit us as long as they are in range. I think I have read somewhere long time ago that that is a bug that has never been fixed.
Not sure if it was a glitch, or if it is still in the game, I remember barbarians being Amp Damage proof with 100% DR, the curse would not even land on them
hold on a sec regarding Andariel quest bug... I think there's a few more steps involved? First, you ALWAYS need to take the auto-TP back home that the game spawns, NOT your personal TP. Then, you need to Save & Exit IMMEDIATELY after getting to act 2. *That's* the way I've always read it should be done, and that's how I've always done it. Is that not correct?

@@kurzackd For Andariel & Duriel (different method), once you've done it, the boss will always grant his quest drop, as long as you give the killing blow. Fun fact, if you did it correctly, each time you kill the boss, the blue items he|she drops always have their max durability set to twice the normal value.

Good video. regarding ST bug you could have mentioned self sustaining items ;) Also the worst glitch i have ever encountered is when you are in the tal rasha tombs and there is this pile of goo in the corner of two wooden shelves and the moment you step on it, you cannot move unless you have teleport. Also the other glich is when you cannot enter portals and speak to anyone or interact with items so you are dsynced and to fix it you can enter the WP and teleport to any other location without the need to reentering the server. This is quite usefull for summoner
You can also walk against a wall or barrier for 2-3 seconds

@@Coooley Yes, and can be done in A5 aswell (ubers for sure, nilatak untested). Last time i tested was in 1.13, but i highly doubt they patched it in 1.14. Using the same "floor overflow" trick in the tower's entrance causes portals to never appear, despite being wasted properly XD
Playing this game so much as a kid and there's still tons of information I missed. I remember watching Andys quest "re-completing" which I assume was actually the "bug" or feature as someone notated. Great video. I especially enjoy the fact that you speak with a normal voice and not some weird or actor-style voice. Those videos get quite annoying to watch. Typically I just flip through those to find the information I need, but yours I actually watch.
One of my favorite old "glitches" was when (I think kolbot) had a bumperless g-rush script addon that would force packets to open / bypass the ancients gate. A level 1 character would use the packet to get thru the ancients door, have to walk all the way to baal after being cleared, and then could kill baal and progress, even though ancients wasn't done.
I used to do them a lot and people would argue every time because I had no bumper character until they saw my level 1 character running thru to baal.

I found a 4 socket divine scepter with 2 to blessed hammer many years ago. I saw that it was a mace type of weapon. So i pulled up my runes and nothing... Lesson learned.

I remember White gear for a while. Your outfit was completely white and the stats were hacked OP. It all circulated for quite a while then got a patch finally. It would be dope to see a video on that if you had any info on it. the baal skip bug I remember in baal runs way back in the day, back when games didn't realm down as much from going through baal runs faster, used to be a strat to skip wave 3 to avoid those hydras that slow down the run. we had a bit of different tactic for doing the skip, since it was done in 7-8 player games, involved everyone teleporting out of the throneroom after wave 2 and one player triggering the bug.
If d2r doesn't have realm down or otherwise prevent games being recreated quickly, I can see this strat being very useful again.
I remember a huge glitch back in the old d2 days, get a barb to use frostwind and hold the arctic blast on first click then have leap on 2nd click and leap as you holding it. When people hostile you your hp doesn't drop below 1 hp. Never told anyone about it back in the day so might still exist in older d2

Strength bug is how everyone knows it, actually shoulda been called charm bug, because all charms do not properly show their effects on the opponent's side.
Your items can be bugged by Dexterity as well.
Also all frw from charms does causes desync as it does not show as active on the opponent's side, same as frw on equipment that is bugged by the str/dex from charms that is needed for it.
Also to note, although its not too noticeable, this charm bug will also mess with weapon and cast animations for the opponent.
Never heard of 100% DR nullifying CB in PvP, that's really awesome. GG

One I used to use was the marrow walk glitch on a bone necro. If you didn't put any points into bone prison and put on marrow walk boots it granted you 33 skill points into bone prison as if you had put those 33 points there. The important thing was that it worked with the other bone spell synergies. The only down side was you could not cast bone prison outside of the charges on the boots.
This was awesome back in the day. Patched now though :(
Another documented glitch is on the Skill double throw on the barb where the AR bonus after the 1st point doesn't add any AR or dmg. On top of other skill glitches.
The Diablo 2 engine was remarkably well-built (either that or very simple); the bugs in D2 pale in comparison to any Bethesda game (which I love dearly, too)
Have you done the "pop" glitch? more than 10 years ago i was fooled by a player promising to dupe the items on my body. i let him kill me over and over without picking up my corpse and eventually all of the items for my bowazon dropped on the ground. He stuck around to tease me a bit about stealing all of my endgame gear, and then i stopped playing the game for a few years. I was mad at the time, but now I think about it as a unique encounter with a non-npc villan. D2 is still easily my favorite video game of all time.

The tomb vipers physical damage bug can easily be negated by wearing items with "damage reduced by X" (NOT damage reduced by X%)
Edit: I don't remember the specific amount, but I think it's actually pretty low, compared to the damage they actually do.
yeah, heard that too, they inflict damage every tick of the 25 frame, but very low damage, so with damage reduction, it lowers these damages near to 0

See if you can find any information on the Moonwalking glitch. Not sure how it happened to me, but WAY back in the day, I somehow ended up doing the Horadric Amulet quest twice or something. After my sorc smashed the alter a second time, she was running around backwards for the remainder of the game. It was the funniest thing ive ever seen, and I've only seen one video on youtube showcasing it.

Weapon swap bug. Always you to swap cast speeds of spells or cast speed and attack speed. For instance charge bolt and lightning have different break points so I swap cast might lighting to move up a break point since lightning doesn't hit a possible breakpoint but you can increase to the next break point for a 30% increase in damage. You can swap cast on every character. Getting hammerdins without enigma to teleport using charge. And so on.
im most intrestd in glitches that are useful to advancing the game. the andarial quest glitch is the most interesting one i have seen and i keep hoping there are more like it.

Yeah, Blizz neglected D2 for a decade. I remember when people were putting the bug fix code in the forums and even offering to do the coding for free, and Bashiok mocked them. great service...
Blessed Hammer + Concentration was a bug they fixed in 1.04 and then reverted when folks yelled about it. I put it in roughly the same category as Smite always hitting - originally a bug but definitely part of the game now.
I remembered once there were black hole pk and assertion error pk, we need to run red scull proxy to block to hack signal which may kill you. it was before the warden implantation

Wow, I'd never thought that poison clouds coming from tomb vipers deal physical damage. I wonder what exact number of physical damage it causes. I think phys dmg reduction builds(such as IPDR assassin) can completely negate physical part of damage of poison cloud.

Hidden Cube recipe to reroll amount of open sockets on a weapon is 3 normal grade skulls. Haven't seen it written anywhere else on the internet apart than discovering it myself by mistake with a 5 OS Ogre Maul that was rerolled into a 6 OS accidentally.

Omg finally I know how I died. My lv 98 sorc #1 on the hardcore ladder right after the 1.10 patch died in nightmare mode in the viper caves helping a friend. I dropped in one second I couldnt full rej or leave and was so confused how in nightmare with the best gear in the game I died so fast.

D2 has thousands of bugs and glitches. Let’s hope the remaster fixes some basic ones like a lot of bugged skills
mana burn, mdr/pdr overflow with es, lightning enchanted + fire/cold enchanted monsters. (not sure if last one applies to beetles) but damn that's annoying bug.
Dont know if someone said it , but the single player starting act 5 with skills and stats, thing is gotta go back act 1 and do all quests , create shortcut on your d2 on computer (desktop) and go to properties then space -W -act5 there ya go enjoy fun with plugy

So, when you kill Andariel for the first time, do you just go to the next act as fast as possible to activate the glitch while Andariel is in her death animation?

Yes, it's a per difficulty thing. All that matters is to kill her and go to act 2 in the same game. So, the only way to ruin the glitch is to leave the game before going to act 2. If you're interested to know how to glitch Duriel aswell, follow the instructions in one of my other replies. Cheers.

There are maaaaaaaaaaany more, but many of them (like str/dex bug) makes the game playable and should never be removed. Try playing pvp with a bow amazon that does not desync. Ur dodge/fbr/fhr stuck at an instance. The wepon swap glitch wich breaks stun animation also makes the game Great. And stun chars would be extreamly overpowered without.
There is also a bunch of skills bugs that can be used, most of them are not viable anymore. Farcast cs was luckely patched. But i think the charge/hammer skillbug is still there. With that u can make it look like ur standing in 1 spot casting hammers faster than it should be possible, meanwhile ur actually charging around with 100% sync and can strike at any given moment.
An low fcr zon can skillbug teleport with an fast ias related skill and use that ias frame for teleport speed, but its quite laggy.
You can also mindblast with the breakpoint of dragon talon, but you have to be close so its not really usefull, and u cannot swap between skills as easy or wsg which will break the bug.
With strenght/dex bugs several features comes as well:
Casting of invisible projectile, blaze, walls and stuff that last a while like psn clouds, blizz, fire effect and hammers/spirit and such.
My throwbarb utulize many bugs. However this does not make it op.
First i str bug. Which makes me cast invisible projectile, my name is ZerkU so people sometimes dont know how they got hit. It also desync like a mofo since enigma, valk 08, upped GoreRider are desynced.
Then i wsm bug my wep.
I use ghost glaive (20 base wsm speed, super slow wep with 7xx throw dmg) over gloves. I put lacerator(low dmg -10 wsm axe who got 33% chance to amplify dmg) over boots.
Then i lift up the slow wep and put back at same location "flash it".
This bugs the wsm speed.
(Leftwsm + right wsm) /2 + (right wsm-left wsm).
In which case gives me -25 wsm and with 105 ias i reach 6,25 attacks pr sec.
When you reach this ias my barb also dissapear on enemy screen when i throw at this speed. It kinda fades out.
When i wsm bugged the fastest wep (boot side) becomes main, lacerator got 30ias, which means my ghost glaive dont need ias, cause it only follow main wep and is being forced to cast between each main wep cast.
This wsm bug allows some cool builds that are not commonly used. And none of them are overpowered, but after 20 years i dont wanna play the coockie builds anymore.
That barb got some other cool features as well, such as: 3wc/life tap charges/falfal and 3wc/lower res charges/falfal bo wepons. (which is used for str bugging reasons as well). Making it a triple curse barb as well for giggles.
It also uses bugged items and prepatch items such as:
- Prepatch torch 25% chance to cast firestorm (if enemy got stuns wirl by wc it stuns as well).
- Bug belt
- valkyrie wing 08
C/t tele/longer range snipe/blizz/fissure May be a bug as well.
Wirlwind hit chance is bugged when dual wielding:
When 1 wepon misses, it use that attack rating on all hits for both wepons until next hit. This limits the effect of forexample using a fool's mod claw on a wirl assassin.
There are so many bugs, but hard to remember them on the fly, revive necromancers can abuse those viper psn clouds, and if u enchant them all with a sorc u can deal over a million dps of overlapping dmg ez.
But fact is:
99% of the current bugs are of an none issue, and actually makes this game Great for pvp. It offers more builds, which are not op. Forexample a bug belt May be the make or break of an 3hybrid telezon, meanwhile a hammerdin can own just as good with a dungo(ofc bug belt better, but its not make or break).
Hybrid runewords also is a key factor in making fun none meta builds.
A shaper dru benefits heavy from highlord 08, meanwhile its useless for most other builds. (i love the valk 08 + hl 08 + bug belt combi on bvc for epic high frw/63fcr/usefull Damage reduction chainzerks which enemies has problem to abuse with walkstyle) even so a shaper is considered a super low char in pvp, and medium for pvm. (i was able to make a super 100fcr tele hybrid wolf with 165frw desynced, but that one costs a fortune and is not op).
Another bug is:
All throwing skills of amazon does not add the listed attack rating % bonus.
Throwing mastery adds multiplicative on single throw. Which can reach really high dmg, but its not op.
Double throw on the other hand displays multiplicative dmg, but its infact not. Which means my ghost glaive displays as 14k dmg, but is in fact around 6k before critic/deadly strike.
There are like 100 or maby more display bug.
Grief does not display its *dmg.
% elemental dmg display a buff on lightning sentry/wof etc, but thats fake, they are considered minions and therefor does not gain ur character %adds from items.
And many more.
Anyway, if they patch desync, str bug, wsm bug, hybrid runewords(the ones that still exists, the method is patched) and other prepatch items they break the game.
If they should change something, they should remove most of the delays druid fire skills has towards shapechange skills. They should also at least double all the fire skills of druids dmg. It wont affect pvm since 90% of monsters are immune in pvm. For pvp it would make them at least low tier viable. I actually has a fireclaw druid, with decent gear. Its one of the weakest chars i ever had, yet its so funny combination, but its low dmg/bad fhr/fbr breaks and the fact that shapechange werewolf/werebear is not a uninteruptible skill and all the delays(like 10-20 seconds from u cast armageddon to u can shapechange, and like 15 seconds if cast volcano)
Dmg wise, lets compare:
Fireclaw: 15-18k dmg, needs to roll hit by hit chance formula and is blockable, not ranged and single target and ned to be close.
Fireball: splash/aoe skill, ranged, 25k dmg.
Fissure/blizz:
A max dmg gear fissure(completely fucking all other relevant stats) deals like 8-9k dmg and - 75 enemy fr. Creates big delays.
A max dmg blizz got 17k dmg, -250 enemy cold res and Creates a super small delay. And 90% fire res is super easy to obtain. (hotspurs / sop + wws)
I Even have an es blizz with 105fcr/86fhr/45% dr/75@ res in hell/max block/3,4k mana/1,5k life/15repl/20tk/95% es. Deals 9,8k dmg and -270 enemy cr. This 1 taps many chars, meanwhile a max dmg fissure ticles most chars.
So that should be next improvement.
Double both physical and fire dmg on fireclaw/fissure/volcano/armageddon/moulten/firestorm. Remove delays towards shapechange. Maby have a look to remove some cast to cast delays as well. +make shapechange werewolf/werebear uninteruptible skill like zeal/smite/rabies/wirl etc. Even fury should be uninteruptible skill, its barely usefull in pvp, my wolf deal 98% of its dmg by rabies in pvp. Compare that to zeal palas. (holy shield, free max block and Great res, epic dmg via grief, uninteruptible.)
Is that andy bug attached to just the the character who did it or to your account for all your future characters? What happens if I trigger the bug with one guy, then play another character and decide to talk to everyone missing out the special loot drop? Can I still go back to the 1st character who triggered the bug and still have it enabled?

I've known about the Andariel quest drop bug for what feels like forever. Something I am curious about that I haven't had a chance to test though, is does the Andariel quest bug exist in non-expansion? If so, when you convert a character from non-expansion to expansion with the bug active, does the bug remain after the conversion? I don't have Diablo 2 installed at the moment since I am waiting for Resurrected to come out in a few weeks so I can test it. I am curious because I plan to set up a Sorc for CRushing and also want to play my first character through non-expansion first. So I am curious if I can get the bug to trigger, and maintain it after converting to expansion. Anyone willing to test all of this in current version of D2 or know how it will work?

With the wave skip for Baal, couldn't you just pull the group out of the room into the back near the entrance and then teleport back to the Baal room and it'll skip? I vaguely recall that being a thing..
That 'quest' loot table can cause high level players to invade games to get the extra loot and prevent you from doing the next acts.
simply make level restrictions or private game. its no big deal finishing an act and starting new game. sure it can be annoying if it's in your path but totally preventable.

What about having zero defense when running? When running, enemies will always hit us as long as they are in range. I think I have read somewhere long time ago that that is a bug that has never been fixed.

First, you ALWAYS need to take the auto-TP back home that the game spawns, NOT your personal TP.
Then, you need to Save & Exit IMMEDIATELY after getting to act 2.
*That's* the way I've always read it should be done, and that's how I've always done it. Is that not correct?
Apparently, all that matters is to do the kill & interact with Warriv in the same game. Additional paranoia never hurts though, i do the same.

@@kurzackd For Andariel & Duriel (different method), once you've done it, the boss will always grant his quest drop, as long as you give the killing blow. Fun fact, if you did it correctly, each time you kill the boss, the blue items he|she drops always have their max durability set to twice the normal value.
I'm not seeing anyone talking about the Quest Item keep bugs, for the A2 staff or it's pieces, or the A3 flail.
It's less known, but you can also do it with the Tristram scroll.
