I think you can sum this up easily for new/returning players for D2 Resurrected to make things easy. This info is mostly for people new to Diablo II. If you are a returning player you probably know the basics and just don't remember the specifics and can ignore this. 1) What Character should I start? A) Start with a Sorceress, Why? Because she can teleport. (The only class that can teleport without items such as Enigma or Teleport charge helms/amulets) 2) What Build should I use? A) Do a Frozen orb or Blizzard/Fireball build. Why? Because Frozen orb/Blizzard does the best single target/ AOE (cold dmg slows mobs), Fireball for when mobs are immune to cold in hell. 3) What and Where should I level up? A) Normal - Lvl1 to 42-45, Nightmare Lvl 40+ to lvl 70-75ish. Move onto hell around 70-75ish. Obviously, you can stay in Nightmare longer you just won't get efficient experience. Just an important note to keep in mind, if you finish the kill Baal quest in a mode you will not be able to see those games anymore when you go to Join games in public. For Example, completing the Normal Kill Baal quest will move you to Nightmare mode and you will only see Nightmare public games you will no longer see Normal games. 4) What should I focus on doing? A) When you complete each mode and can kill a bit efficiently you should be MFing(Magic Finding so you can farm gear.) 5) What should I focus on for magic finding? A) Ideally, focus on main/mini-bosses. Act1: Countess & Andariel, Act2: Summoner & Duriel Act3: Travincal Council & Mephisto Act 4: Chaos Sanctuary & Diablo Act 5: Eldritch, Shenk, Pindle, Nihlathak, Baal Honorable Mentions: The Pit in Tamoe Highlands Act 1, Tristram in Stoney Field Act 1, Ancient Tunnels in Lost City Act 2, Flayer dungeon/Kurast Bazaar Act 3. 6) How should I allocate stats? A) Enough strength to wear gear and rest into Vitality. 7) How should I allocate skills? A) Find yourself a build guide online. But an example for Orb/Fb build: 20 Frozen Orb, 1 Cold Mastery, 1 Static, 1 Teleport, 1 Warmth, 20 Firebolt, 20 Fireball, 20 Meteor, 1 Fire Mastery. Frozen Armor optional. Obviously, put skills into the connection points such as put 1 into Telekinesis since you need it to get to the Teleport Skill. As you level up Fireball becomes available at Level 12 so start putting points into it first then when you get to 24 Blizzard and Meteor become available Then Frozen orb and Cold and fire masteries at 30. Gear yourself enough so you can do efficient dmg in the next mode before you move. For Gear, I would try to farm for a full Tal-Rasha's class set for Sorceress. Find the runewords you can make on Arreats Summit online. Find some high end D2 builds and chars online later but start out with Sorceress so you can have a farming character.
Lmao this mans said to find a build guide about a game that has like a 4 skill tree. Yall be overthinking this. This games easy AF u can literally play any build and skill
@@Odyssey636 of course you can play any build and skill, but the meta is what he's describing. It's much more effective than what you're describing which will leave new players fuckin around in nightmare unable to gear up their gimped ass characters.
Shopping a +3 fireball 2 socket staff to make Leaf Runeword. Shopping a +3 Bone Wand or +3 Corpse Explode Bone Spear Wand from in Act 2 will get 2 sockets in the socket quest and you can make White Wand. Great strats for Necro and Sorc Starters.
White wand with +3 bone spear, literally best in slot for bone necro. Kinda insane actually. Also in Ladder you can do spirit sword - the most op mid-game caster item.
@@NikozBG Just remember, Spirit is ladder-only. I'd hate to see someone waste time farming 4os crystal sword and have a failed runeword non-ladder. *EDIT 8/19/21: D2R will release with all ladder content (runewords, uniques and cube recipes) available to all single player and non-ladder characters.*
@@benrjetti At this point it's almost universal wish for almost all of the active d2 community + it will be way better for newcoming players. I imagine they would give up eventually and remove the ladder only thing.
Another good thing to mention is to save a Respec for when you have all the gear/charms you want for your character. Once you have that set you can min/max your stat points by adding enough to strength/dex for you to start equipping gear. Then your gear will carry the rest of your required stats so you can add more to your vitality. It may not seem like it to new players but those 15+ extra points into vitality makes a big difference
12:59 to quickly navigate The Tower run in a counterclockwise motion from each door to get deeper and bring stamina potions, which can be equipped in your belt.
I'm ashamed to admit that despite playing thousands of hours of this game back in the day, i had NO idea about the resistance the Thawing and Antidote potions gave, along with not knowing about break points. I just always just stacked as much higher cast rate as i could find without sacrificing other things i needed. Thank You for this video!
I don't think I knew about thaw, antidote pots either. Dude they fix Trang cast rate? It's supposed to be fast, not hella slow. Ruins the set. Keep the gloves tho, they are very nice.
Great tips. I don't know if it's still a thing, but one tip I remember back from playing many years ago was having big magic find items on your weapon swap. Like a Blade of Ali baba with 2 ist runes or a gull dagger with a rhyme shield or 4 Ist socketed shield. Then you weapon swap right before landing the killing blow on a boss to activate the bonus MF%.
I'm definitely a vet (been playing off and on for 15 years), and I learned some new things. I totally didn't know that Ormus sold Life Tap and Teleport items STARTING at lvl 24; would have made going through Act 3 so much nicer before! Also, I knew that Antidotes and Thaw pots gave resist, but I DIDN'T know you got an increase in duration the more you drank! Very handy video! Added to a list; thanks for the upload!
Also it's better to wait till act 4 Normal before trying to buy it, since the vendor is closer to the town exit so you can reset the vendor's inventory quicker. Trying to do it in act 3 is a real pain when RNG isn't on your side.
I recently have tried to explain most of this to a brand new d2 youtuber and it's soo tough without visual aid. You just did that to perfectly. Very nice video, especially for a non plugy d2 player 😎🔥🔥
Excellent guide. I played for about 9 years back in the day and wrote a few guides on different builds and it seems even I forgot some of the useful tips you hit in this video. Thank you for the information.
@@Stormsong93 No problemo. I would like your take on obscure builds and their strengths/limitations/playstyle and how it related to group/solo play. Like throw barb, fireclaws bear, elemental amazon etc. I did write a guide if it will help. www.diabloii.net/forums/threads/throwing-barbarians-guide-by-itsamanthing.431542/
Protip, If you run into a lightning/ cold enchanted mob or ligjtning/fire or even worse all 3, the lightning bolts that come off them apply all those elemental damage types and will chunk you, beware of this incase they don't fix this bug in Resurrected. Also if the mob is dual enchanted and has cold enchanted the cold Nova when they die will also apply the elements of the other enchantments that unique mob has. You can very easily go from 1k hp to zero with one cold Nova or a few lightning bolts from multi enchanted mobs.
I always leave a bunch of stat points left undistributed. That way when I find something I want to equip I just assign however many points I need. This can be pretty important because weapons can require Dex while armors requite Str. I almost never played hardcore so the Vit points aren't necessarily as important.
this is actually a very good tip. Nothing worse than finding a really GG item only to have to wait 4 levels to actually equip it because you need more strength.
I've been playing D2 since it first went retail in 2000. I took a year or two off to try and get into D3, but it just isn't as good a game. Despite almost 20 years of playing this game, there were a few things you mentioned that I didn't know, so thank you for the tips.
This is perfect... I played many many hours of Diablo 2 20years ago... Probably one of my most hours logged in a game, so when I saw D2R coming out, it was one of the best announcements... And your recap of old info and what's changed from when I played all those years ago is just what I need, thanks!
Early stats and skills as well as early gear to look for is precisely what will be in those class guides. Things like shopping for the teleport staff, 10 fcr wand from akara, etc.
check speedrunners, how they do this and still can beat the game. for normal it's an easy play and any points spent on crap. Nexius gave you a tip but... fcr is for caster char (i believe he's not thinking zealot is caster), but teleport staff is useful, not needed that much, stats for early game is nothing now, because of respec... and skills? basically in 1.14d, if you want to play for fun, you make your build when you hit min clvl for your destinated skill/build. before that? same thing like stats. respec from Akara or install PlugY :D when you're asking about skill assigment, i would prefer to use PlugY, because i see that you don't know how particular skills works. it's a really great tool to respec anytime, make realy big stash to check out value of many items on the battlefiefield, so if you wan't to jump on to D2R like a PRO? this is a great tool to examine some mechanics in normal D2.
You don't for a most proper builds you get rushed and don't kill anything, once 85 +then max out your skill points and stats. For starting just build a mf cold sorc, max ice blast (or whatever its called been 15 years) for synergies to blizzard etc
Thanks to popping 1 or 2 Antidotes before engaging Andy, even on a sorc I can tank her and just spam static field without issue. The resistance is such a huge difference. I did a test against duriel in the alpha without thawing and he 2 shot me. I showed it in my snoop dogg meme video lol.
@@nathr7375 u forgot? Good, i've been playing this since im in elementary, back and forth after a couple years xD still knows nothing about this while i did once solo self found hell with shockzealadin (just once) lol
Thawing potions are much less effective versus Duriel than antidote potions are against Andariel because you cannot resist the slow effect of Duriel's Holy Freeze aura. It's only helpful against those tiny to medium frost damage ticks.
Not gonna mention Leaf? By far the best early rune word. It will completely reshape the way your lvling works, a complete game changer. Yes it forces you into at least partially going fire early. Which makes the 4th act a bit tougher in general. But, you can simply use your 2ndary spec and merc for the most part to solve that, or run with some friends. And then dominate in act5.
You get 3 total chances to reset your skills if you mess up, by chance. After every completed Den of Evil(Act 1 Quest 1) in each difficult. So Normal, Nightmare, and Hell gives you a chance to reset your stats and skills.
Taking 1 week annual leave, booking wife with kids for holiday and playing like 20 years ago 24/7 with my mates. The only part I will miss is amphetamine to keep us awake.
Another good tip for new players: drop your shield when you first start the game. Shields are not good for many builds and even the ones that use shields don't do so until at least the end of Normal if not later. The reason is that enemies don't do enough damage to put you into hit recovery, but shield block can prevent you from attacking if you're in the middle of a mob (as the enemies attack and you keep blocking the attacks over and over). Best to just slug it out.
Hey man just wanted to say amazing work with the video, great content your a natural for this. I think you should really be pumping these videos and good starter build videos out as much as possible because the hype is REAL and it is only getting bigger and bigger!! I imagine in 3-5 months your channel will easily double if not triple in subs
Thank you for the kind words. I try to pump out as much content as I can but it's difficult both in terms of the time it takes and the motivation. The D2R release date has lit a fire under my butt though. So much content in upcoming months for sure.
If you are playing with friends and you plan on just tanking, leap is actually the most valuable skill after bo. Just find yourself a group with a lot of damage heroes and the game becomes easy mod!
They didn't do it originally. That was something added in at some point (the potions were pretty useless originally as you would typically just get poisoned/frozen again right away). Similarly, the stamina potions also used to only refill your stamina; they didn't also give you unlimited stamina for 30 seconds on top of that.
Good tips for new players and those returning from a long time away but generally I would recommend everyone just to play it the way you want to play it. Don't play it with end game in mind, with the stats you need for specific items and especially not "builds." It's definitely necessary later on when you get more serious about the game but it ruins the fun in a lot of ways when you're super specialized like the classic builds like hammerdin, lightning sorc, etc. I played this game to death from release in 2000 for a couple years and then every 5-7 years afterwards, but plan to play it for fun when I play it for the first time with my kids. Can't wait!
Remember everyone! When you're doing your countess runs, once you're in the tower, always make a left at an intersection (your characters left that is) and you will find the way down to the next floor nearly every time.
I reroll rings and amulets. 3 magic rings give you 1 random magic amulet and 3 magic amulets in the cube give you a random magic ring. Useless jewelry can turn into massive upgrades such as rings with bahamuts prefix solving all your mana problems or prismatic amulets boosting all resists. Another tip is to keep upgrading your gems to do crafting and reroll grand charms. 3 perfect gems of any quality can reroll magic items. Grand charms can become skillers, plus 1 to all skills in a specific tree. Use the higher item level GCs from hell difficulty. Perfect gems are needed for crafting recipes too. My favorite recipe is caster amulets. 1 magic amulet, 1 magic jewel, 1 perfect amethyst and a ral rune gives you a caster amulet which can potentially be quite good. It's a cheap crafting recipe that you can use repeatedly and has enhanced benefits at higher levels. There are other recipes that can help you make upgrades for any item slot slot you need new gear for, such as boots or gloves. Arreat Summit page is an excellent resource for all the recipes.
While not disagreeing, the limited inventory space in regular d2 is a real problem for that strategy. And i personally refuse to mod the game, it feels to much like cheating to me.
Hi everyone, I hope you're doing great! There are SO many tips to help new players in this game so I left many out since the video was starting to get long. If you have any tips you think new players should know, feel free to leave a comment to help them. ✌
@@guillaumemortelecque743 Sorceress is the best class to play because you can teleport, making your runs much faster. A hammerdin is 2nd best due to survivability and damage output.
@Dinglebobman No knowledge yet on how those shortcuts will work on console as far as I know. Maybe if there's a beta for console players we'll find out then.
Great video even for veteran players because there are so many mechanics in this amazing game, it's easy to forget things! No nonsense tips 👌avoid the little bone dolls when they explode upon death as they cause extreme area of effect physical damage on top of any mods like fire enchanted, conviction etc they will kill you in a blink of an eye. Quill rat bosses in hell will kill you instantly off screen before you have time to react they attack fast and their quills are very small and you don't see them as well as arrows and spears so be wary fellow travelers and let light guide you to honor!
Never met those quill bosses nor had any problem with dolls. Maulers surrounding you however are a big problem. Oh an I have a tp amulet which is cheaper to recharge.
I wanted to mention that with a sorc, you can actually go for an Energy Shield build and put everything into Energy (except for the required str for items). However, he gives tips according to his preferences. An energy build with MAX Warmth and an act 2 merc with Meditation aura can make an ES (energy shield) build very viable. Though you will be completely screwed in HELL diff against elites that have mana drain skills. For those i recommend always keeping some good vitality armors/shields, instantly TP when you see one, equip those items, fill your inventory with mana potions, use a lower resist wand if you have one (great tip for any caster) and just let your merc kill everything when out of mana. Its not ideal but better than getting one shot because u have low HP. Its worth mentioning that an ES build is ideal for a fire sorc because it requires max Warmth (fire skill tree).
As someone who started playing this game 2 days ago and never played a Diablo game before ... about half of this guide is helpful, and the other half is absolute gibberish for a newbie, and not beginner friendly.
I just started playing D2 Resurrected for the PS4, and I'm just figuring out the rune words. I look up the guides and what I need, and I put the runes in the right order and they don't change at all. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'll put Tir and El (Tir on top socket, El on bottom) into a Mace class weapon and it doesn't change at all. I've already wasted 2 El runes (which are tough to get for me for some reason) and I could use some advice.
Lots of good info. I never knew antidote potions gives you poison resist. Also I found out the hard way you cannot use magic items to create a rune word. Bricked my first spirit rune word like that.
This makes me think that a good tip would also be to tell noobs what the act 5 runeword is : RalOrtTal. I didn't have the internet when LoD just released and tried to guess it and I failed. I did TalOrtRal because I thought "nah it can't be OrtTal, there wouldn't be two "T" next to each other") -__-
ive played diablo 2 for over 13 years now, and i still enjoyed this video, I am super psyched for the new remake. I hope it will be as glorious as the original.
Overall great vid!!! Played for years at release. Love to see it coming back. Hope to come back for more good content. The only small quibble I have would be that, depending on your sorc build, you might not want to push vitality. But that’s getting in the weeds. Again great vid.
One thing I learned this week after 20 years of playing and not knowing it, or perhaps it's new? If you hold shift + left click potions in your inventory will be added to your belt. It's amazing especially if you have 16 pots and you recover your body after a death so you can get your potions back on your belt quickly, it really makes a difference between being prepared with your potions immediately after you recover your body, and panic spamming the top left part of your keyboard while clicking on your inventory and picking up the wrong thing while you get attacked lmao. This is very specific but I'm positive that people know exactly what I'm talking about.
Hi, I have a question I noticed when I put a gem on a weapon it has tendency to change color( the gear I mean) and it just look ugly as hell im sporting blue helmet with like a purple axe wtf ? is there a way to remove those colors ?
I`m playing D2R since December 2024 with a lot of fun. I`m playing "Holy Fire Paladin" with its typical few stats and it`s very effective with a quit easy gameplay and combat style and I`m at the beginning of Act 5 ("Normal") with my first walktrough.
hey just a heads up and I just found out myself, in resurrected, you can actually re-spec indefinitely. That was a controversial change the developers implemented you can turn that feature off but it’s a new feature that should def be noted in light of this video.
Did you actually test this? Because I can't respec after the first time and I see no option to turn something like that on or off. Kinda weird that they don't even mention it in game.
I was playing d2 lod at 2000-2003..this guide says no more put into str or dex except wearing items but how about attack rating? i remember that my character was missing hits so much and i thought bcuz of low dex so i gave too many points to prevent..how you guys prevent not to miss your hits ? Especially in hell mode ?
Been pvping in D2 for 15 years! Great video for pvmers and general information. Should a pvp video if your familiar with the dynamics of reaching perfection, Swap/charging, Desynching, DesynchCanceling/holy frost, gear maxing, BP maxing etc. Would be an epic video!
Even for a veteran this video is goldish! Thanks 🙏 I just wonder how is about to be the commmunity of d2R , as good as in vanilla time , we all wish ! 🤩
There wont be a community. 95% of people are boycotting blizzard and not buying the game. As we all should be. 40$ for a remaster thats got nothing different then the original other then a texture filter
@@Odyssey636 Hm... I really, really loathe Blizzard, but I am tempted to get it just to see if the multiplayer is even remotely similar to the good old days. That's probably a futile hope, though.
just one more tip to maximize gold: If you see that a vendor wants to give you the maximum gold for the respictive act for an item, wait for the next act as the gold limit is 5k higher there.
@@unanimousarts yes totally. I thought it was a simple hack and slash- and it is- but I never knew about all those details it takes to actually get good. i would definately mention hell immunities for new players because it can brick your character ... maybe its just better to let new players find it out the hard way like me back in the day, ive bricked quite a few characters but had fun doing it 🤗
That's what I want to do. I love this game so much, and have met so many returning and new players in the last 1-2 weeks that it has really got me into the helpful motivation. Had like 4 sorcs ask about my static build when I was running normal with them. Promised them I'd make a video on that soon among others. Thanks for watching!

I haven’t played since the original version was released and one expansion but plan to try the re-release. Man I don’t remember anything and think I am going to be so lost heh.
Just to add a tip regarding the runewords: Make sure the total number of sockets is the same of the runeword. You can't make a Stealth (TAL + ETH) on a 3 open socket armor, for example. This looks stupid, but even a veteran streamer like DBrunski had made this mistake (live btw, he cliped it and it's hilarious).

And remember /players 8 in chat (maybe only works for LAN games) will increase monster difficulty and XP/loot drops, even if you are only one player in the game.
Only if you want the extra exp. If monsters aren't dead as soon as you hug them, player 7 gives the same loot, but faster, at the cost of giving less exp than player8.
@@Krezo200 Then definitely quit too early! I've played for 2-3 years after release on a daily basis then revisited time to time but never searched for a never version.
Yeah I've been playing 20 years on and off and to me the way it worked was if you messed up one point you deleted and remade your character. Or if you got a really good item upgrade like something that had more strength and then you can take points out of strength. There was no way in the game to reset stats or skills. Back in .09 when the Hacked items were around like 6 socket windforce 4 skt valor 4 socket stormshield 6 socket ITH colossus blade or thunder maul, all that stuff... towards the end they came out with a small charm with 42 strength on it and a 700 magic find small charm
tl;dr: Know everything about the game, your character and your build before playing - then you can actually utilise these tips. Back in the real world: Don't worrry about it - The respecs are not as "rare" (or rather as difficult to obtain) as this video makes them out to be. It's perfectly fine to experiment with skills and stat allocation in Normal mode and consider all of this when you reach Nightmare difficulty.
WARNING TO NEW PLAYERS : Insight not available for normal game mode (with many runewords/recipes), it's "ladder only" as the devs have yet to get rid of this ridiculous and stupid limitation. Now, everyone I actually talk to in RL or forums/streams/etc all WANT for that limitation to be removed (exception being ppl selling items for real money trade, or in-game item trader)... but devs haven't said if they will remove the limitation, be it for single player or BattleNet. I lost so much time the fist time farming runes I wanted for a nice runeword to be robbed of it once I put all runes into the weapon. You've been warned. Now have fun, and if you want all runewords/cube recipe unlocked to you, make sure to keep an eye out for single player mods that enable it, and forget BattleNet.
also if a weapon repair is too much and you have cube you can put a ort rune in with that weapon if it isn't ethereal and repair with no cost and ort + chipped gem will repair that costly skill charge aswell as the weapon you can also do it with armor ral rune plus that armor piece for full repair ral + chipped gem will repair armor and charges

Last time I played was before charms and ruins. Back when there wasn't a cap on necromancer skeletons. Every point in the skill meant another skeleton.
I remember that, I achieved 40+ skeletons I remember. The only issue was that they were so weak, all you need was a mob with ape and it would wipe them all out with one hit.
The number of skeletons got nerfed because they were causing excessive lag but they also got significantly buffed with damage and life so they became Hell viable. Fishymancer FTW! :-)

20:31 #16 leave town to refresh vendor items
21:07 #17 Arreat Summit D2 website
I think you can sum this up easily for new/returning players for D2 Resurrected to make things easy.
This info is mostly for people new to Diablo II. If you are a returning player you probably know the basics and just don't remember the specifics and can ignore this.
1) What Character should I start?
A) Start with a Sorceress, Why? Because she can teleport. (The only class that can teleport without items such as Enigma or Teleport charge helms/amulets)
2) What Build should I use?
A) Do a Frozen orb or Blizzard/Fireball build. Why? Because Frozen orb/Blizzard does the best single target/ AOE (cold dmg slows mobs), Fireball for when mobs are immune to cold in hell.
3) What and Where should I level up?
A) Normal - Lvl1 to 42-45,
Nightmare Lvl 40+ to lvl 70-75ish.
A) When you complete each mode and can kill a bit efficiently you should be MFing(Magic Finding so you can farm gear.)
5) What should I focus on for magic finding?
A) Ideally, focus on main/mini-bosses.
Act1: Countess & Andariel,
Act2: Summoner & Duriel
Act3: Travincal Council & Mephisto
Act 4: Chaos Sanctuary & Diablo
Act 5: Eldritch, Shenk, Pindle, Nihlathak, Baal
Honorable Mentions: The Pit in Tamoe Highlands Act 1, Tristram in Stoney Field Act 1, Ancient Tunnels in Lost City Act 2, Flayer dungeon/Kurast Bazaar Act 3.
Magnificent tips, thanks for contributing to the comments!

@@memory_null Yea, I forgot to mention that, I'll edit my comment. Thanks for the reminder.

Im glad im not the only one who remembers playing the shit out of d2 but remembers very little about it

@@Stormsong93 No problemo. I would like your take on obscure builds and their strengths/limitations/playstyle and how it related to group/solo play.
I never realised that was a bug, I always just thought lightning enchanted were way more dangerous than all the others. :)

Nothing worse than finding a really GG item only to have to wait 4 levels to actually equip it because you need more strength.
one respec per difficulty plus the ability to farm respec token that you can craft with drops from bosses on Hell difficulty (Act 4).
I've been playing D2 since it first went retail in 2000. I took a year or two off to try and get into D3, but it just isn't as good a game. Despite almost 20 years of playing this game, there were a few things you mentioned that I didn't know, so thank you for the tips.
I've played d1 and d2 +lod at launch I know most stuff but it's a good refresh even with playing s3 in project diablo 2
Feel u man. Also played d2 from release date up until pd2. This game a marvel...
This is perfect... I played many many hours of Diablo 2 20years ago... Probably one of my most hours logged in a game, so when I saw D2R coming out, it was one of the best announcements... And your recap of old info and what's changed from when I played all those years ago is just what I need, thanks!
Would love to see some information on skill point distribution during the early leveling process, a lot of guides don't seem to touch on that
Early stats and skills as well as early gear to look for is precisely what will be in those class guides. Things like shopping for the teleport staff, 10 fcr wand from akara, etc.
check speedrunners, how they do this and still can beat the game. for normal it's an easy play and any points spent on crap. Nexius gave you a tip but... fcr is for caster char (i believe he's not thinking zealot is caster), but teleport staff is useful, not needed that much, stats for early game is nothing now, because of respec... and skills? basically in 1.14d, if you want to play for fun, you make your build when you hit min clvl for your destinated skill/build. before that? same thing like stats. respec from Akara or install PlugY :D
when you're asking about skill assigment, i would prefer to use PlugY, because i see that you don't know how particular skills works. it's a really great tool to respec anytime, make realy big stash to check out value of many items on the battlefiefield, so if you wan't to jump on to D2R like a PRO? this is a great tool to examine some mechanics in normal D2.
In normal, just learn all skill and test it, because normal is like walk on the park xD (except necro)
MrLlamaSC has some build guides based on classes that go a bit into which skills are best.
You don't for a most proper builds you get rushed and don't kill anything, once 85 +then max out your skill points and stats. For starting just build a mf cold sorc, max ice blast (or whatever its called been 15 years) for synergies to blizzard etc
12:23 This is rune words and im new to D2 and this should be highlighted. Really great tip
21 years old game and we still play and will continue to play !
After all this time, i never thought about fighting andariel with antidote and durirl with thawing xD
@@Stormsong93 you know I completely forgot about that.
@bronchoped1 You basically explained how what I said was true.
Yea but you also can craft or buy tokens from other players
So basically a while after the game launched you can reset as much as you want
Dude I just can’t wait until September to get to playing!! “I stayed awhile and listened”

Same here. Just a month and a half away from greatness.
@@allahfuckbar5052 lmfao wtf is wrong with u. All this for a 20 year old game that can be beat in like 6 hours
I pick Barbarian and going to put ALL skill points in jump.
Make sure its Leap attack :) Leap is fun for knockback but you gotta whack them demons :-)
If you are playing with friends and you plan on just tanking, leap is actually the most valuable skill after bo. Just find yourself a group with a lot of damage heroes and the game becomes easy mod!
BARBS FOR LIFE! HAHA
I played D2 from day one over a lot of years and your tips are awsome to bring the game back in mind and save a lot of time 👍
Bruh, I started playing D2 at 9 years old. I'm now 30 and I never knew that thawing/antidote potions actually gave you temporary resists o_O
Great tip!
Crafting is an underrated part of Diablo 2. Good tips!
While not disagreeing, the limited inventory space in regular d2 is a real problem for that strategy. And i personally refuse to mod the game, it feels to much like cheating to me.
Only if your character is high level.

@@banbanhmi haven't been one-shotted yet, so couldn't tell.
Hell. Its been 20+ years. I just learned about resistances with antidotes and thawing. I just thought it was instant cures.

As someone who started playing this game 2 days ago and never played a Diablo game before ... about half of this guide is helpful, and the other half is absolute gibberish for a newbie, and not beginner friendly.
I agree those tips on buying/selling items are pretty important.
First time I did that was on my necro with a +3 bnp skills wand.
This makes me think that a good tip would also be to tell noobs what the act 5 runeword is : RalOrtTal. I didn't have the internet when LoD just released and tried to guess it and I failed. I did TalOrtRal because I thought "nah it can't be OrtTal, there wouldn't be two "T" next to each other")

Same here. I was just a kid when I last played it. I didn’t know it was this in-depth.
Very detailed and informative. Love Diablo 2 and I love resurrected even more.
0:05 The wall is open, but there's no hole in it. Visual bug? Don't remember seeing that in classic D2, but then again it's been a couple decades since I've played.
The “let me in” meme was so freaking fire, u just got a new sub! Gg, welk played good sir!
Played the original and Hellfire with the monk. I still have both of my CDs for those games lol. I Played Diablo 2 so long ago I forgot so much of this thank you.
I usually play Diablo 1 at least once a year. I enjoy the monk and sorc a lot.
subbed. i cant wait til it comes.. im mostlikely going amazon lightning jav
hoping for a build guide :)
A javazon guide will definitely be made sometime.
and a sorce early build. so many different way to do it,. i think ill start with her cuz of her MF and im thingking going for a fire build and later maybe blizz, but so many are using lightning. confused:P
I played the original D2 20 years ago, and tried the open beta for D2:R. I doubt I'll do D2 again. Would rather try something new, like D3, or see what the upcoming D4's about. However, this was great to watch none of the less!
Good tips
Wish I did research early when first playing
First Class: Druid
Stats: All Strength
Didn't make it past Act 2 lol
I remember times when you could not reskill
New chars every week, one point in energy? Reskill, new char
It was fun somehow
I don't remember times where it became a possibilty! Maybe I quit playing D2 too early? :D Which version lets you reskill?
@@Sekir80 i think since 2010?
@@Krezo200 Then definitely quit too early! I've played for 2-3 years after release on a daily basis then revisited time to time but never searched for a never version.
@@Sekir80 oh ok, so a real OG here
I played from 03-10
And restarted 6 weeks ago
Yeah I've been playing 20 years on and off and to me the way it worked was if you messed up one point you deleted and remade your character. Or if you got a really good item upgrade like something that had more strength and then you can take points out of strength. There was no way in the game to reset stats or skills. Back in .09 when the Hacked items were around like 6 socket windforce 4 skt valor 4 socket stormshield 6 socket ITH colossus blade or thunder maul, all that stuff... towards the end they came out with a small charm with 42 strength on it and a 700 magic find small charm
I didn't take notice but did you happen to tell them to hold tab to have the items on the ground pop up?
I'm not sure I want to improve my castrate... already lost Lefty to cancer xD
Hahaha, yeah I've considered just saying "faster cast" or "FCR" but it removes the joke.
Why dont we use str and dex for extra damage in classes? Doest it scales dmge?
tl;dr: Know everything about the game, your character and your build before playing - then you can actually utilise these tips. Back in the real world: Don't worrry about it - The respecs are not as "rare" (or rather as difficult to obtain) as this video makes them out to be. It's perfectly fine to experiment with skills and stat allocation in Normal mode and consider all of this when you reach Nightmare difficulty.
He explained this whole comment in the video..in the first 6 minutes, or even before that lol
I cant wait to get back in for some duelz!! I stopped playing diablo 2 15 years ago and played diablo 3 for a couple years. Sooo hyped foe this.
Lol good luck
Fantastic video, deserves all the views and likes it has gotten. Earned a sub.
Thank you for the kind words my friend.
Brilliant. Played this game a lot ages ago and nice to see that I remembered most of these tips during the D2R beta :o
also if a weapon repair is too much and you have cube you can put a ort rune in with that weapon if it isn't ethereal and repair with no cost and ort + chipped gem will repair that costly skill charge aswell as the weapon you can also do it with armor ral rune plus that armor piece for full repair ral + chipped gem will repair armor and charges
Love this. Can’t wait for the sorc guide
It still post 1.8v nerf .. so might want to give the sorc a pass.
@@arakheno4051 not everyone plays for pvp man, what does it matter? she's still ideal for magic find.
@@RealHypocrisy Sorc is the best class by far early on, because she has teleport and can MF easily to get a baseline of gear established. Once runewords like enigma become available, that's when sorc starts getting outshined.
I always liked maxing out my mana regen passive in the fire tree first thing. Makes the beginning a little more painful but once you start pumping up your skills its so worth it.
Hard to remember exactly how much that helped though.. its only been 18ish years lol
@@RealHypocrisy I loved my Sorc .. non-pvp .. but I couldn't get past desert stage (2) with my 99 sorc on normal.. flame running and dragon heads .. a hell level sorc .. couldn't pass that due to the nerf. . after many attempts just abandoned the game. I loathe games that give you abilitys and then decide hey you cant do that .. Spearazons can stab at blazing speeds, sword weild can strike faster than rain can fall .. but casting,. ya 1 per 2 second with damage output limit .. F-that.
I'm looking forward to the stat player guides you are going to do in the near future
ah yes, all those years of throwing stat points willy-nilly because i thought all stats had uses for every character, as it was in most rpgs
They are all useful depending on your gear and buildx
How do you lower the name plates of mob npcs it shows you up top ide like to have it floating saw a vid where he had it floating
Last time I played was before charms and ruins. Back when there wasn't a cap on necromancer skeletons. Every point in the skill meant another skeleton.
I didn't even know that. Awesome.
I remember that, I achieved 40+ skeletons I remember. The only issue was that they were so weak, all you need was a mob with ape and it would wipe them all out with one hit.
That was rough, and you could only clear up to like flayer jungle on nightmare, after that skeles would just get one hit
The number of skeletons got nerfed because they were causing excessive lag but they also got significantly buffed with damage and life so they became Hell viable. Fishymancer FTW! :-)
So psyched for d2r since I've recently hopped back into D3 and haven't played D2 in awhile, So thank you so much for this video I never got into the physics much on D2 so this video was a Godsend of Information. 10\10 man Good job.
Here we go...As soon as Diablo 2 resurrected was announced, the "tips' start coming in.
Like I didn't know this info in 2000-2018
Good video. I played D2 a ton back in the day but I still learnt quite a bit from these tips.
