Great video. A few things worth mentioning. 1) the summers here are awesome, and although short, make up for the cold winters, and 2) stay away from the west end as it is crime ridden. When I came to Saskatoon in 2013, my real estate agent would NOT show me houses in the west end as I had my mother that I was caring for at the time, and she told me about the crime in that area. SUre enough, my work colleague who lives in an apartment there had a neighbor that was shot by a gang member for no apparent reason the first week at my new work location. Stay away from the west end, or any street with an alphabet, as my real estate agent at that time stated. Overall the people in Saskatoon are awesome, and I will be retiring here as I love the area!
Excellent well happy to help however I can. You are correct there is certainly a west side east side conversation, although there are good areas on the west side. Likewise with alphabets not so accurate to paint the entire alphabets with same brush. Generally pleasant hill neighbourhood has the highest crime rates. Any major city will have it’s inner city core with challenges. Saskatoon summers are short and windy haha, the riverbank is beautiful in the summer and there are some good lakes for weekend activities within reasonable commute too
Saskatoon is one of my favorites cities, an absolute gem - and while it is definitely on the rise it is still underrated! It should be an absolute must-visit for people interested in exploring Canada.
Yeah it is a beauty. What do you like best about saskatoon?
In particular I think the size of Saskatoon is very pleasant and feels more laid back than the rapidly urbanizing cities of Alberta - plus a phenomenal food scene, well maintained river valley and multiple walkable vibrant neighborhoods@@Livinginsaskatoonguide
I think the river valley has been particularly well maintained, fantastic food scene given the size of Saskatoon - I also find it to be a very pleasantly sized city, Edmonton and Calgary have been growing rapidly!@@Livinginsaskatoonguide
Don’t forget to mention the crime per capita is one of the highest in Canada, right next to Regina
And prince albert, I did make comments about that too. Some neighbourhoods are safer than others as is the case in any city you can find trouble if you go looking for it
Yeah I agree, if one stays out of the ghetto, they should be okay
@@mr_noodler true story
I don't know if what was said about transit is accurate, every bus I have been on was full, even on the routes that have bus service every 10 minutes
Interesting well thanks for letting me know that. I haven’t taken the bus in a while
And presumably there still must be busy times of day suppose
What's the most interesting fact or piece of trivia about Saskatoon that you think not many people know?

Since the making of this video, were you able to find more info on strip clubs in Saskatoon? Asking for a friend lol.
Hahahahaha best comment! For whatever reason no strip clubs that I am aware of. Apparently they used to have some sort of strip club without alcohol you had to go across the hall to get booze then come back. Couldn’t have both under the same roof but I haven’t heard of such an establishment in existence today
@@Livinginsaskatoonguide thats awesome there are non
Some of the highest crime rates in the country, lowest education levels, racist police force, and a lack of moral conscious where people less fortunate are continually stepped on and ignored. Great place indeed.
Are you from saskatoon?
@@Livinginsaskatoonguide living here right now driving by the forgotten outside the old lighthouse, and Salvation Army every day. Zero social programs. Zero human compassion. Unless your white.
Very Very high crime rate
Only in some neighbourhoods. Every city has good areas and not so good areas, check out our other video for top 10 neighbourhoods in saskatoon 😀
Exactly, rampant crime in this city and province.
@@jonathaneder2078 there aren’t that many stabbings
It’s the nicest city in Saskatchewan. That’s not saying much. Hello from Moose Jaw.
@@Ian-of9oi haha yes I hear you there. Saskatchewan does grow on you after a while though am I right?
