Fuck i love that clip . I feel pure joy watching Danny nail that cover and the positive energy that he is radiating . Funny i never would have seen this clip if he didnt get into a bit argy bargy at the airport afterwards . If anybody knows the particulars of that incident . I would like to hear it .
LMAO!...I'm sure any time Maynard's whiny, tender-bottomed, liberalitus-arse ain't around he's having the "time of his life"! UNFORTUNATELY I Still LOVE TOOL AND PERFECT-CIRCLE!
Gavin is not miles better than Danny. They are both legends, and have their own styles. Most expert level drummers can play Gavin’s material, but not Danny’s level of interdependence within multiple simultaneous time signatures. As a drummer I have studied them both, and I can honestly say Danny is hiding a second pair of arms and hands somewhere in his basketball jersey.
Hey hey hey...he ain't THAT old! He'll be playing well into his 80s tho. When he goes I'm going with him cuz that day will have killed the second half of my soul. Neil Peart was the first half. Carrey feels the same way.
He's a good soul. I met him walking around lollapalooza and talked with him. Of course, telling him what an inspiration he was. He's a good dude. Not aloof like you might think he would be.
Green Day played my roommates birthday party about a year before Warner turned them into … whatever it is they are. But anyway out of all of them Tres was indeed the cool one. Something about drummers.
This is one of those performances that looks so effortless and easy... This is one of those weird performances like Prince's My Guitar Gently Weeps performance that is unbelievably complex and perfect yet looks so simple. Truly an amazing performance.
man watching this was like those crazy fishing trips you had with your polish uncle 20 years ago. i also love how absolutely polite he is while taking cues from the music director
It was funny watching what seemed to be a college marching band director give this drum god playing a masterpiece the ‘let’s wrap this up” hand signal. 😂
Danny Carey é um grande baterista admiro muito seu som , é claro que isso não foi ensaiado , já vi Chad Smith tocar essa música e com certeza ele manda muito bem .
What amazes me about Danny Carrie... Well, aside from all the obvious things, is that he very obviously doesn't need all of the symbols he has and the tabla and pads and everything else.. but when he has it he uses every fucking thing in his kit. He creates this insane soundscape.. like this was absolutely incredible what he's done on that kit and with the sort of creative limitations he has having to stick to something that wouldn't melts the brains of the marching band, but he is genuinely limited by that drum kit. LOL they're an awful lot of drummers with the million cymbals and drums that are just too dull to know how to use them in a way that benefits the music. Everything Danny does is to benefit the music.. what a fucking legend and musical inspiration.
The fuzz go n ruin all the fun of their hometown hero coming back to live out a dream. Danny does something amazing and shows him hometown some love just to get treated like crap. Those cops had a hard on over arresting a Hollywood rockstar who was showing his love for KC. 60 damn years old and gets treated like he’s 16. The last few hours with some aggressive ass cops (and a rude ass camera man who Danny was thanking) shouldn’t discredit the amazing love Danny has to travel all the way out to KC and play for 2 min. Danny Carry is a gentleman and a scholar… and the coolest member of tool.
Amen! And something like "Don't talk to me, just go!" Just go? They were still talking to him at that point and well they ended up arresting so I guess he did have to "go" after all. They duped him into "resisting." Also did one cop tell him not to cry or something? What in the entire fuck is that about? Theory: They knew he's filthy rich and planted a provocateur in the airport.
Saw a bit of this on Imgur, then came here for the whole thing... I'd love to hear him guest with Brass Against when they do 'Lateralus'. Thanks for posting this!!
The one time he's not wearing a basketball jersey is at a basketball game? Lol
Haha yeah facts
Got a KU tee shirt though
I love that irony .

😂😂😂
Other than his mad skills, the best thing about watching Danny Carey play is how he ALWAYS looks like he's having the time of his life.
awesome guy he is
Perfectly said
LMAO!...I'm sure any time Maynard's whiny, tender-bottomed, liberalitus-arse ain't around he's having the "time of his life"! UNFORTUNATELY I Still LOVE TOOL AND PERFECT-CIRCLE!
@@UA-camSupportServices you always whine that much?
@@redwarf8118 Yes, which is 99% less than Maynard!.. Mr."shittybritishseries".
Just think, every one of those band members can say they played with Danny Carey for the rest of their lives. So lucky!
That kit has officially been immortalized
Straight to the skip
The GOAT.. simple as that..
Gavin Harrison is miles better he's a virtuoso. So many more ideas.
Daney is good but he's just not as musically gifted as Gav.
Not to mention gavins drum sound better
@@austin5732
Lol !! You are a farce !!

You've obviously NEVER watched Mike Portnoy or Gavin Harrison drum you *NOVICE*
probably the smallest drum set he's played on in 100 years
I think the drum set he was playing while his mother gave birth to him might have been smaller.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 awesome comments
Also the first time in a century he played in a non weird time signature. 🤣
Hey hey hey...he ain't THAT old! He'll be playing well into his 80s tho. When he goes I'm going with him cuz that day will have killed the second half of my soul. Neil Peart was the first half. Carrey feels the same way.
Longer than that. His drum set is God.
He's like a noble vigilante drummer. Shaping the youth
from kattegat, He's Flokey the shipbuilders cousin
Someone has to TÆCH them to swim!
I could not love this any more! The joy seen through his smile, and the crowd response is fantastic. RnR!!
He definitely threw some Forty Six & 2 in that ending solo!!!!!! Goosebumps!!!
He's a good soul. I met him walking around lollapalooza and talked with him. Of course, telling him what an inspiration he was. He's a good dude. Not aloof like you might think he would be.

Definitely one of greatest drummers of all time. Right up there with Neil Peart and Tim Alexander. A powerful drummer...
And Mitch Mitchel, of course.
Still having so much fun while playing. Like a child 🤩
Look how much fun that grown man is having. Kids need to take that in and use it in their life. Danny Carey killing that snare.
what an absolute legend
His smile is so contagious 😁
it is !!😀
I play nowhere near as good as Danny, but I have that exact same smile on my face every time I play. Thanks for the inspiration. Rock on!
First part of that first sentence applies to everyone on the planet and is thus a superfluous statement. 😂
That’s what it’s all about, homie.
If you haven't played drums in a coliseum like that it needs to be on your bucket list. Nothing compares.
a top 5 drummer all time his polyrhythm work is legendary and other drummers can't get close...
In his face you can see how much fun it is for him to play the drums...he really loves his "job"! I admire his technique 🤟😄👍
Damn , he really assaulted those drums!
They owed him money.
🤣
Such a cool and nice drummer! I was lucky to see his live performance, 3 times with tool.
I just love the big smile on his face..you can tell he’s having a good time:)
Love when he does the big fill just after the band stops playing and the girl behind gives him the nod of approval as if to say not bad.😀
This is one of those performances that looks so effortless and easy... This is one of those weird performances like Prince's My Guitar Gently Weeps performance that is unbelievably complex and perfect yet looks so simple. Truly an amazing performance.
This guy could drum on seashells with twizzlers and it would sound amazing!
The worlds best drummer 👍🏻🏴
His smile is priceless!!! And the power!!!
Them kids in the band were like holy FUCK!!!
He just gave that kit some mojo that will help every drummer that ever plays it from then on.
Now the greatest living drummer
Well said...
The G.O.A.T. of drummers hands down, Danny Carey is a God 🤘
danny's national treasure .
And all done with a massive smile, what a legend 👌👌❤️❤️
Oh my. The fun this man has on this drums? Awesome❤️
Who ever owns that kit must be super exited. Arguably the best drummer that ever lived... I'd hang it on my wall and never touch it again.
Band set. Educational now
Man this Danny guy is pretty good, he should start a band.
How epic is that to have Danny there, and his smile! 😊
My favorite musically inclined sports enthusiast !
Danny can play on any drum set and make it sound good!😆👍🥁
The King of drums!!! Amazing!
man watching this was like those crazy fishing trips you had with your polish uncle 20 years ago. i also love how absolutely polite he is while taking cues from the music director
Man, Danny has so much fun.
Love the very beginning when he is almost caught off guard only to arrive BANG ON.
Я люблю Tool и Денни Керри мне симпатизирует больше всего , потому-что я люблю ударные инструменты , мне есть с кого брать пример . Рок-Металл)))
pure genius at work 🤩🔥
It was funny watching what seemed to be a college marching band director give this drum god playing a masterpiece the ‘let’s wrap this up” hand signal. 😂
Tool rules and Carey is drumlord.👍🏼
Очень нравится смотреть на человека который излучает позивний энергию. Полное ощущение присутствия на этом празднике, Большое спасибо
He’s not even trying, a true legend
This man hits a snare like no other !
Just awesome. He's having so much fun also.
Love how he looks at the camera smiling while still wrecking a basic kit
I’ve watched the 50 times love how he’s having an awesome time!
One of the top 5 or 3 greatest to ever get behind a kit. This video doesn't even come close to giving him justice
Straight killed it!!!!
Imagine if he used his actual drum kit with the rototom and Mandala pads instead of that very small one 😂
literally...this is him on a tiny kit. looks like he was being humble ;) Haha
Danny Carey é um grande baterista admiro muito seu som , é claro que isso não foi ensaiado , já vi Chad Smith tocar essa música e com certeza ele manda muito bem .
Tool cardiff 🏴 incredible
What a band what A DRUMMER
Great fills, then right back to the pocket. Respect. 🤟💯👍🇺🇸
I can't stop watching this!
I love this video, that smile on his face is priceless....He is having a blast!
I love that he's having a blast!
Ya don't get any more of a living legend than Danny
The god himself 🙌🙌
A rare sighting of Danny playing a back beat.
Second world’s best drummer !
The BEST drummer now that professor Neil Peart is gone..

How can you not just love the absolute shit out of this guy?!
Hahahhaha omgg I love this mann perfectly cut as well😂
Fantastic!
I love how non-drummers are so impressed by rudimentary fills but completely oblivious to the legitimately difficult technical timing.
The girl playing the flute was mad impressed
What can you say …Danny you the Man!!
GOAT. and SUCH a sweet guy!!!!!
Mitch Mitchell would be proud.
Fuck yeah he would!
Indeed!!
Danny its the MAN!
That was insane, he was enjoying it so much, it felt like he was a happy fish in the pond of life. God bless his soul an actions.
A man with the right tool is a very capable man
Holy fn sh@t. My face has perma grin..DC is the mannnnn!!!!

He was drunk and he technically assaulted someone. Whatever, happen to anyone. Guy is an Octopus tho!
Professor Danny schooling the youth at KU . So cool . Rock chalk , plus they killed Missouri in the border war
Danny is watching you while he plays his groove
MEME time!
He really is though!
He’s having so much fun too!
Straight fire, y’all!
Awesome job, thank you. I really enjoyed watching that.
So many people in those stands have no idea they’re in the presence of a god
Danny makes me smile.
