is there a way to link files of a collected project to a similar project file? FOR EXAMPLE... could the project file of a collected project be replaced with a different one and have everything link when it is opened?
If its a copy of the original its possible. Now, you can always create a New Project and import the old one into it...bringing the linked folder files and compositions as well. So the short answer is yes
Hey Valerie! Sorry for the late reply... You have already probably found the answer but certain parts of the FILE > DEPENDENCIES > COLLECT FILES will be "grayed out" depending on what you are selecting and what you are animating. ALL will be grayed out if you have no IMPORTED FILES to collect. In After Effects, you have generated media like solids, shapes and text and then imported media like images, raster and vector logos, videos, etc. If you don't have any IMPORTED MEDIA in your timeline, ALL will be grayed out. Mostly, SELECTED COMPS will be grayed out by default, unless you have one or more COMPOSITIONS selected in your PROJECT WINDOW before you go to FILE > DEPENDENCIES > COLLECT FILES. So all of this depends on what you want to collect and package. If you have a project with many compositions and you only want to collect one or more of them, select the comps in your PROJECT WINDOW and then go to COLLECT FILES and choose SELECTED COMPS. If you just want to collect your WHOLE PROJECT with all the comps and media, just go to COLLECT FILES and select ALL if you have IMPORTED MEDIA, otherwise your choices will be to just COLLECT ALL COMPS or SELECTED. I've never subscribed to someone over an intro before.
For me the "all" is grayed out!!! Only have collect comps etc... So it does not collect the footages D; Any tips?
