best tutorial i've ever watched, just graduated as an illustrator and clueless on how to animate, every job requires motion graphics and i'm truly amazed how easy it actually is
what. 1.3k subs? man, your production value worth like half a millions subs. Count me in. I've been watching a lot of parallax effects tutorials and this is the absolute best.
This is perhaps the best tutorial for anything I've found on youtube. You explained the tools rather than diving straight into the process all the while managing to be concise and not boring. Kudos!
Hey man I just wanted to say that this is how all tutorials should be! Perfectly explained, making sure you point out beginner skills and giving out a lot of nice advanced techniques. Congrats, keep it coming!
So well done Josh. You should be doing all tutes for all applications. No back story, no side stories no why you did what you did last week and how that has shaped your approach to using whatever software you use...just straight up information about the program and the process of achieving what your vid title states. Top notch sir!!! Much appreciated. Pragmatic, precise and professional-Thank you..
Happy to have introduced you to the feature, have fun with it! 😁 If you have the time, would you mind checking out my latest upload and leaving a rating? I would really appreciate it!
Seen a lot of videos on animating photos in both Photoshop and After Effects, yours is definitely the best! Explanation very clear; you mention the tools, what they are used for and other relevant information to them as well as the shortcuts. This is an example of how a UA-cam tutorial should always be! Couldn't help but subscribe. Keep up the good work mate.
One of the best tutorials I've seen in a long time. Ive been doing the 2.5D for years but love both the photoshop animation and the after effect options. THANK YOU!
Thanks for the amazing comment mike, means a lot! Hope you enjoy the video 😄 If you have the time, would you mind checking out my latest upload and leaving a rating? I would really appreciate it!
Great video Josh, you have gained another follower in me and I will spread the word. I have to agree with other comments that I thought I was learning from someone with a huge following, I wish you all the best as your channel grows.
It sure does! Allows you to be as creative as you want to be as long as you don't push it too far ;) If you have the time, would you mind checking out my latest upload? I would really appreciate it! :)
This is great. I'm going to try this on a photo right now just because! I don't know much about editing, but your tutorial is easy to follow. I'm definitely subscribing. Thanks for making this video.
Wow, great tutorial thank you! Not only that I learned how to do this effect, i learned a lot about tools in After Effects aswell! Thanks mate, for putting that much effort in your videos :) Rarely felt so good leaving a subscription.
2:50 the "Quick Selection" tool would have made easy work of that.... Messing around with brush size and holding Alt to remove any accidentally added parts turns a 5-15 minute job into a 30 second job with almost unrecognizable differences!
Definitely would have made easy work with my example but not with everyones and its a good skill to know how to use the pen tool which is why I used it :)
I am in 100% agreement with everyone here, this level of a professional tutorial clearly explaining and showing each point and not skipping the basic instructions for the beginners is not something i always see on UA-cam channels even with a mil subs.. and u r at only 6.8k !! ..fantastic work
You have just destroyed the parallax illusion by using a windows machine for this! Joking. Bytheway: Thx! Great Tut!!! Please do more puppet animation stuff!
Wow thanks for coming back man! Hope you can create something similar :) If you have the time, would you mind checking out my latest upload and leaving a rating? I would really appreciate it!
5 hours later on searching tutorials on making an image 2D look 3D while also making some sort of icon in the image rotate/move!! Finally found the video I needed!!!! thanks so much for sharing!!!!!!
I was watching a similar video where the person was working on After Effects and I was thinking the exact same thing, that the layers can be separated better in Photoshop, then I came across your video which reaffirmed my thought process. The point of my lengthy text is, thanks! 💫
Yes it's the best tutorial also because you explain what shortcuts you are using.. Actually telling us what you are doing. Very important. Bravo-Thanks much.
BIG KUDOS for saying exactly each and every shortcut key you press as you do stuff or where to find the tool or whatever. Makes it a lot easier to follow for beginners!
Wow, I was searching forever, I watched a bunch of other tut's and none of them showed the puppet tool or the progression from one program to the other like this. Well done!
I am not a designer but am interested in design in general. This is magic for me. I have mainly worked on inkscape. Will be taking PS trial to try this out.
Love the way you explain the tools before using it for the photo.

I'm shook! Great tutorial, I didn't even realise After Effects had a puppet warp... the possibilities are endless!

This video is 5 years old but still, it's the best tutorial I've ever watched for making parallax effect using Photoshop and AE. ♥
Bro been using AE since '93 til now 26 years later it's still the best. Very well done A++++
Wow a veteran in AE then! :D makes my 9 years sound so short haha

This is, by far, the best tutorial I've seen on the subject. Thanks a lot!
talking about the tools before using it was the main thing, very much appreciated.
I watched your video a lot of times! And after almost a year I have built a super simple automatic 2.5d animation tool!
That would be really time-saving if it would work like that!
Excellent parallax effects tutorial my friend...
