This is one of those games I prolly wouldn't have heard about, if not for Jirard. I greatly appreciate this channel and all the games that I've played because of it.
If anything, the timing couldn’t be more perfect since this game just dropped on the Xbox game pass (alongside with Death’s door). It is the best combination to get people to check out this game right now.
Ooooh it's on Game Pass and from the Guacamelee devs, I'm gonna have to check this one out. Just finished both Guacamelee titles a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved them!
guacamelee was awesome. Literally one of my favorite gaming memories (along with Halo/2 release, WoW days, Mass Effect and Kotor. Suber Smash Bros Melee /Spiderman /Windwaker on GameCube) is playing Guacamelee with my buddy. And that is some high praise.
It's funny, I actually did it the other way around, I heard about this game from Skillup and played it on gamepass, and only now I finally picked up Guacamelee which is also just as wacky and fun.
Glad to see you've beaten the blight, Jirard. Also, this emphasis on changing forms is pretty cool. It reminds me of Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass, since the titular Jimmy had the ability to change forms on-the-fly like a Final Fantasy jobs system. It also really helped that his different forms could do different things on the overworld, so that Jimmy's "jobs" were more than a different palette of stats and abilities in battle.
Yeah, new subscriber to Gamepass, and I won’t lie, I was a bit of a hater at first when I got my PS5. Then I got my series S and tried Gamepass. The amount of amazing games on there I would have probably never tried if it wasn’t for this service is insane, this title especially. I am in LOVE with it.
I am really liking some of the directions your channel is going! Always have enjoyed your videos, but seeing you shed more light on indie games has been one of the coolest parts! I don't know how consistently you'll do this, but man, I love the idea of you emphasizing indie games more. Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, Hollow Knight and this video are 3 that really stand out to me. Keep up the awesome work.
My husband just picked this up on Xbox Live, and it has been SO MUCH FUN to play through. I've been saving watching this until we were almost done because we liked it so much, and I'm happy to see we're on the same page about a lot of things.
Me and a buddy of mine installed this randomly when looking through gamepass. What an amazing time. From the art, to the cheeky humor and the gameplay. Thanks for bringing more awareness to this man. (One and only gripe is that there were far too many crashes and disconnects while in coop, which can be a big hassle if you are deep into a dungeon only to lose that progress).
The one thing I love about Jirard is that he tells it like it is. No review score, no bias, just his honest opinion and in-depth analysis of every game he plays. One of a kind guy right here.
I just installed this game yesterday...haven't started it yet ( got caught up on some TV....and then lost track of time re-watching through an old favorite lol ) but damn it looks fun. can't wait to dive in
I felt CHILLLS from that intro!!!! For a second i thought " what? game over? on the intro? is that a commentary on ths specific game?" Then those bunch of TVs appeared showing the old intros almost like a "continue". Freaking loved it!!!
A nobody saves the world, just put the words " I was killed and reincarnated as" and the word "who" after nobody, and you have a hit modern Iziki anime, I was killed and reincarnated as a nobody who saved the world" has a nice ring to it.
I love how some npcs has unique dialogue depending on what character youre using for exsaple when playing as Nobody some characters will queston why you dont have pants
Glad to hear that Drinkbox Studios struck it big again! Good to know they made a great cross between Kirby's transformations and Zelda's combat. Can't wait to get this game!
6:48 you said being on Xbox meant that there are achievements i understand what you mean by that but the switch version has built in achievements just like guacamelee and guacamelee 2 also do you plan on playing the dlc?
I started this last night, before I knew it 9 hours 27 minutes passed. Just about have Dragon… and it was 8am needless to say absolutely beautiful game.
Love to see some indie love, even better when it's a title I'm interested in and was hoping to hear some buzz about. This looks like something I'll have a blast playing with my brother.
I literally just saw this game advertised at me on steam before watching this and had absolutely no idea what it was about. It looks like a lot of fun!
Your base stats do affect all the other classes, to my knowledge. Each one just has different modifiers, like a Slug having higher magical attack than physical attack, a Robot having higher physical defense than magical defense, and the Dragon having a metric ton of HP.
Speaking of indie titles that are super gratifying, I wanna give a shoutout to Cross Code. I wanna shout this out to Jirard to PLAY THIS GAME and stop sleeping on it. I know it's a few years old at this point but it's one of my favorite games of the current gen and has so much heart put into it by another indie team that loves video games. (P.S. The word you were looking for to describe all those swords on display is "homage.")
I'm not the kind of guy who usually drops a like on most videos, but I made sure to like this one, to please the algorithm and give this game some more spotlight. I'll be sure to purchase it myself, and support my fellow independent game developers of the Greater Toronto Area.
I literally just beat Guacamelee 2 about a month ago and then the devs drop this gem, which is basically an rpg version of Guac combat. Love the game so far. Definitely going to 100% it within the next week.
I am glad the game didn't have local co-op, because I was able to play online with a friend. Most games with couch co-op don't have online, and then I can't enjoy the game with my friend, which sucks.
Review the Tak trilogy! Tak and the Power of Juju, Tak 2 the Staff of Dreams and Tak the Great Juju Challenge! Amazing 3D platformers on GameCube and ps2! Masterpiece of a trilogy
@@Propane_Acccessories I’m trying to get the attention of THQNordic and Avalanche Software so they can remake the trilogy! Hey it takes one person to make a difference! The Tak trilogy is one of my favorite trilogy’s ever and it was the most successful Nickelodeon game of all time so if SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom can come back Tak definitely deserves that treatment! It was on THQNordic list!
This game really surprised me. It felt so Juicebox, which I love, but it turned into something that I loved so, SO much. Also, seeing what people’s favorite forms are is my favorite part of seeing others’ opinions. Mine are Robot and Dragon.
Robot and Dragon are indeed excellent. But I have a soft spot for the Ghost, cheeser of worlds. Necromancer is also excellent. Best abilities? I figure Detonation is up there, along with Dodge, since Dodge costs zero mana and is spammable.
I think forms have modifiers to the base stats. Like rat would have: 80% base health 75% base defence (magic and phys) 120% speed 100% magic dmg. Or the like :) that is how I saw it :)
As of this comment, According to Trueachievements..there's only 2 people who have this game 100% Complete. So Jirard is one of them? Im assuming he has a TA account.
i played the game, had a blast, what i dint like is the enemies being complete pushovers, you rarely die unless there's a special modifier that makes things kill you FAST
This is one of those games I prolly wouldn't have heard about, if not for Jirard. I greatly appreciate this channel and all the games that I've played because of it.

Nintendo advertised it on their UA-cam channel
@@mas8705 I was going to say it was on game pass as well. I'm going to try it just because of that.
Well i mean its on gamepass so...
Guacamelee 1 and 2 are some of my all time fav metroidvanias, much love to this studio.
Ooooh it's on Game Pass and from the Guacamelee devs, I'm gonna have to check this one out. Just finished both Guacamelee titles a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved them!
Both this and Death’s door. Two fantastic titles that everyone should check out if they have game pass.
guacamelee was awesome. Literally one of my favorite gaming memories (along with Halo/2 release, WoW days, Mass Effect and Kotor. Suber Smash Bros Melee /Spiderman /Windwaker on GameCube) is playing Guacamelee with my buddy. And that is some high praise.
Almost 8 hours into nobody saves the world. Its fucking great 👍
It's funny, I actually did it the other way around, I heard about this game from Skillup and played it on gamepass, and only now I finally picked up Guacamelee which is also just as wacky and fun.
Holy hell this makes me so happy. Very hyped for this game and Jirard completes it already?!
You would too if you got paid for it. Haha
Keep it up Jirard. I love the Completionist series. It's a series I always look forward to even if I haven't watched in a very long time
Our prayers were answered with that local co-op patch, what a game ! great vid, also
Was waiting for this to devise if I wanted it. Jirard being this hyped over it is enough for me

Awesome! I just started playing this on Game Pass yesterday.
Didn't know it was coming to Game Pass. Thanks for the heads up.

it was added to gamepass yesterday as well :)

This game was extremely fun - especially due to the fact I played the whole thing through with a friend. Very much worth it's money it.
This game looks like a ton of fun! Thanks for the great video Jirard! Think my wife and I are going to have to play it together!

This game needs local co op badly I agree, hopefully they will do this maybe I will wait before I play it.

Answering your opening question: I judge games based on how compelled I am to keep playing it.
damn!... that intro is next level!
Most passionate review of this game on the web. Seems like the perfect title for completionists.
This game is so good, Drinkbox nails every aspect of their games
I think forms have modifiers to the base stats.
Like rat would have:
80% base health
75% base defence (magic and phys)
120% speed
100% magic dmg.
Or the like :) that is how I saw it :)
Can't wait for this game to come to Nintendo Switch. It will, right? 😥That being said, I still got Guacamelee 2 in the backlog 🥳
I just realized that this is game 420 and honestly it seems somewhat fitting
Love Guacamelee and this game looks like a LOT of fun just like I expected. Really hoping for a Switch port 😊
Thanks ☺️
