- Here is how I replaced the impeller on my Suzuki DF 9.9 outboard motor. It weighs over 120 pounds so I could not get it off the sailboat by myself. So I changed it with the motor still on the boat at the marina.

Nice work Karl! Looking forward to more sailing videos.
Thanks Jeff! I went out sailing yesterday on Lake Michigan. It was the best sailing day so far this year, with steady winds and mild waves. It was a blast! Stay tuned : )
Thank you, Carl! I'm from Russia, I have the same motor, only with tiller control and I walk on the river. But, nevertheless, it was interesting to see how you did it in an original way without removing the motor.
Thanks for watching! Tight lines on your fishing adventures : )
I know where to get mine done now, it would just be short trip for you . Good Job
Hi Karl, I been watching your posts and have the same boat as you but 1983. It has a lot of standing water damage and I'm replacing the Gallie and bulkhead behind. As I have taken all that out the water tank is behind the bulkhead, but I can't see how to fill the tank, is yours the same? I will have to rebuild the tank platform because that's rotted also. Thanks, keep posting your work great to watch.
Hey Tom, There is a nipple on the top corner of my tank that a hose attaches to for filling. Also there is a bigger( maybe 1 1/4") fill plug that unscrews from the top of the tank for access or siphoning out with a pump. I have soft spots and water damage in several places on the deck from bad fitting hardware deals. Will have to repair those issues next year. Good luck with your bulkhead and water damage repairs. Thanks for watching!
@@karlsawesomeadventures9608 Thanks I thought I might be missing an easier way to fill other than climbing into the battery compartment.
I can reach the filler hose from the cockpit with my arm down through the open lid , without climbing down in the lazaret. Maybe you can attach one also.
I can show you a water tank cradle I made , very secure.
Karl, do you have the ob steering attached to you rudder?
No, the outboard is not connected to the rudder. So normally all steering is done with the rudder and leaving the outboard set at straight ahead. If I need to turn really tight in a channel, sometimes I use the outboard steering and rudder at the same time.
