I recently bought a used 2016 s1000rr and i love it so far. Not feeling like more horsepower would make me faster on the track. DDC is doing a great job imo, and the handling feels way better than my old track bike (ktm rc8).
At my first track event with the bmw i was confidently going faster laptimes without going higher risks.

Mine was backfiring on start up and stalling but the latest software release from BMW fixed it. It starts up fine now. We have Euro spec bikes in Australia and they don’t suffer the same throttle restrictions that have been put in the us spec bikes.

So do you compare a flashed bike to a stoke bike?

The 2015 is an awesome version of that bike & seems like you love it & it sounds amazing. I’ve been there before with not “feeling “ a bike I thought I’d like, so I moved on. So many guys are buying the 2020, dumping tons of $ into it when they don’t even have the skills to ride it as is, makes no sense to me. Hopefully BMW will sort things out for next yr. nice riding!

What was the other issues you had? Would be nice to know what other issues you had and what the problem was going through the warranty department. People should know

Had a testdrive on a 2015. Awesome. I own a 2011 gsxr750, and not sure spending so much more money to get going on trackdays. Just started a year ago and doing well. Insert mods on my gsx or save and go for the 1000rr.

Thanks. Indeed, I did alot training end last year, much true on that. And seat time is a good point to watchout for. Thanks for the advice. Still nice video, an awesome bike.

Sorry for your bad experience. I purchased one had it turned and loving it. Sometimes you have to except change. But that’s you. And you shouldn’t have to explain it to nobody. Some like it some don’t, who cares it’s your $ at the end of the day.

I loved my 2017 S1KRR- but my Brentuned 2020 is in a completely different league...considerably faster on track and street. The new one makes the old one seem fat and slow and of course it isnt a fat/slow bike. You should trade that 2015 when you can bro, they are about to lose value once the new gen comes over in big numbers!

The Bmw s1000rr esp (15-18) isn’t going to lose value anytime soon lol at least not here on the East cost people are still asking retail for them

BMW a little sloppy out of the gate with the 2020. MCN review has leaky fork seals. Always best to wait a year or two for a new iteration for the kinks to be worked out.

jumping on the hype train isnt always good.. but god damn that 2020 panigale v4r is great though.. even the streetfighter is awesome. now those two i wouldnt call a hype train.. those two are legit! in my opinion ducati right now is on top of the world not as epic as what bmw did back in 2009 though

Lol. Obviously this is your opinion, so no-one can say it's "wrong," but I disagree. Had you tuned your bike you would have realized the 2020 is far superior in every metric. I'm loving mine. To each their own though 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Cali Moto TV I appreciate the response. But I’m not sure why you said “move on.” I’m engaging your content while respectfully disagreeing with you. I feel like it wasn’t done in a rude or immature manner. If you’d rather me not comment I guess that’s fine too

You should not have to tune your new bike and void the warranty to make it run right. I have an ‘18 unmodified and was looking forward to the 2020(not planning to modify). Disappointing to say the least. If they still have a flat spot after a couple of years I will be buying something else.

Bro i have a 2020 s1000rr you should have done your research. I have had many of these bmws and the new one is by far the fastest. Brentuning offers a flash that resolves the low rpm power loss and other problems you mentioned. NOT TO MENTION the flash is discreet and undetectable by bmws in house computers so warranty wasnt an issue. I have a race red 2020 with the akro shorty full system and the bren flash and i love it.
