I'm 72 and this is my first Golf cart. I went to an Automotive college. You JUST gave me the knowledge and torque specs. I am completely confident to be able to rebuild my own. Thanks you did great work.

It would be good to see a close view of arrows and alignment depressions for timing, but that was real helpful. Thank you.

Ya, I greatly respected you leaving that mistake on the video, anyone could have edited it out. Anyone who says they have never put something on backwards or didn't make a mistake assembling something is crazy. Thanks for the video , gonna give this rebuild a go.

I appreciate that. I'm not perfect and never will be. I try to show it how it really is....(at least in my shop lol). Best of luck to you, it's a fun little project.

Wow that's nice to see. U look a bit nerves but yeah great job. Most of the ring sets has got the number on it according to the size of piston that u r putting in. What's my everyday job for the Golf carts, Yamaha ,club car , Ezgo and etc. Thanks for sharing

Great video! Just confirming piston ring order. Sounds like blue one on top, orientation does not matter since there are no markings, yellow ring is second with the “R” up, correct? Thanks.

Love your engine rebuild video. I have a question if you don’t mind. I have a 2002 Yamaha g22. I’m getting gas in the oil, and oil sitting in the air cleaner. The motor runs good but started smoking. I removed the motor and have it ready to rebuild. I’m just concerned why the oil is getting in the air cleaner and gas in the oil.
And do you have the link for engine rebuild parts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. 👍🏻🇺🇸

Im working on a kawasaki fe290d clubcar basket case, all apart in baskets and containers. I noticed that when I removed the valves aside from the normal carbon build up ,the innerside of the exhaust valve was caked , I cleaned & reseated the valve and intake and tested ,But I did notice I could compress the spring by hand to put the retainer clips in . This must have been the problem to begin with of this engine . I did hone the cyl and replaced the rings.

Question: sorry if this is a stupid question, why would you not want to put gasket sealer on the crank case gasket or is that overkill with these types of gaskets?

Awesome, thanks Norman! I haven't done much on a g14, however I just finished a total rebuild on a '98 g16 over the weekend and it was almost identical. I believe they put the g14-g22 all in the same range when looking up parts and stuff, so I would imaging you are going to be very similar as well. Good luck!

Does the exhaust side need a seal? My golf cart only has 50psi compression and I notice the Intake valve it "sticky" going in and out but the exhaust side slips in and out very freely and it doesn't look like it has a seal on it

I actually got them from my local golf cart dealer. That is where my customer wanted to get the from because they had them in stock and I could get them same day. If you are getting the runaround with the dealers, checkout partzilla.com

You can barley see any of the work you’re doing, your commentary is misleading. You don’t specify anything. You didn’t elaborate on any of the most important details such ass how to position the rings or how to put the piston in correctly. You literally only showed us the wrong way when you messed up. You didn’t give us the torque specs for the crank case bolts. All that and I’m not even half way thru the video. I’m jumping back and forth from google to other videos just to find the information you’re not giving. All I’m getting from this video is an IDEA of how to put the engine together. Unfortunately this is the only video I could find on the Yamaha G engine. You seem like a genuine guy and I’m not trying to be a dick but with all this positive feedback you’re getting from overly generous viewers, I feel some constructive criticism is necessary considering such low quality content. Recommend you pay a bit closer attention to detail for the audience.. if we’re already rebuilding the engine, the details are likely what most of us are here for 👍🏼
