  • Hello everyone!
    This is a cover version of ‘Dead set on Suicide' by Cattle Decapitation.
    It’s just extreme and that's the main reason why I chose this one...
    Drums-only-version right herer:
    • Cattle Decapitation - ...
    It took me almost two weeks to get back in shape, which honestly is the hardest part of learning those songs.
    Very special thanks to my buddies Bartol and Reinsn from bazn sounds & records, Sebastian form DreamCatch Audio!!!
    I also want to thank Mark from Pedaltrigger and Fabian, Hendrick, Dieter (and everyone who's involved) from Murat Diril Cymbals for always supporting me the best possible way - THANK YOU!
    If you want to get in contact:
    www.pedaltrigger.com/
    muratdiril.com/
    Another special thanks goes out to the local Arts- and Music-School in my hometown (Deutschlandsberg) where I recorded everything. It’s actually the concert hall, where I had my first “concerts” as a young student and so it just felt great to come back after more than 15 years. As a kid I never understood how important the environment you’re drumming in is for your wellbeing and of course for your sound. And this big wooden room whit all its warmth just feels and sounds absolutely incredible!
    Which leads to the next point:
    Except for the bass drum and (not even half) of the snare drum, all the drum sounds are natural and as pure as possible. We spend a lot of time to set everything up. I also switched sticks - from regular 5a to 3a to get more power, but not by necessarily swinging the stick higher or hitting any harder, but just because of its shape.
    For the bass I used a standard sample from the Steven Slate foundry and for the snare I mixed signals (about two thirds natural sound with eq, comp and just a little verb; and one third is again a standard snare from the Steven Slate foundry. I had to pitch the sound of the sample, so it would match my real snare and it’s just for the attack during all the blast beats.)
    Furthermore I used
    Dixon MBS shells (2x22", 8", 10", 12", 13", 16", 18")
    p.d.p. Limited Edition 20ply Snare with Die Cast Hoops(14"x8")
    Axis A Longboards
    Roland SPD-S for triggering (bass drums)
    And Murat Diril Cymbals:
    20" t(h)rash crash with 6” renaissance splash on top
    18" blast china
    14" blast china20
    20” rock mega bell ride
    14" custom arena hi hat
    9" mini hats (renaissance splash bott, luminous splash top)
    7" & 8" renaissance splash
    17" fast crash
    16 speckled crash
    18" fast crash
    10" stack
    18" rock china
    19" rock china
    22" rock mega bell ride
    11" black sea hi hat
    12" black sea trash hats
    21" custom crash/ride

      @@MK-oz2lf it's done at extreme speeds to keep the snare consistent in traditional blasts that use either half note or quarter note cymbal pulses once you're over 260 bpm. In a live setting it also looks flashy while conserving energy. There's also the Dirk blast that can be used as well if you take away the accented notes with usually in it and only use cymbals every 4 snare hits. Spencer from archspire uses it a lot

    The Bass Drum beats are so fast they seem to be producing a frequency which should equal a note. Does anybody know what frequency the feet are going? From there we should be able to figure what note it is producing being that 440HZ equals an "A"

    • @benjaminjoplin4991
      @benjaminjoplin4991 5 років тому

      Maybe about 40 times a second so 40Hz would equal a very low E.

    I've got a Cattle Decap playlist on autoplay in the background and this video came up. Had no idea it was a drum cover until I looked and... holy shit! Absolutely flawless!

    2:31 where is that snare beat?

    • @Analogbeatmaker
      @Analogbeatmaker 4 роки тому

      Probably the original track you're hearing and he missed playing that fill...he is playing to a cover so the original drums parts are still there.

    amazing playing .. but out of curiosity .. i'd like to hear a raw drum track .. especially without the bass drum triggers

    • @swannie911
      @swannie911 8 років тому +2

      shadowlorde I think at that speed, triggers are necessary.. If you didn't have them it would all just start to mush together.. But yeah I also wanna hear how it would sound.

    • @DrummerJez86
      @DrummerJez86 8 років тому

      true ... .. it would most likely sound like a soft timpani roll

      @Veth22 9 років тому

      kalloused
      its not wether or not hes on queue (which he is)
      theres a trigger error at 2:32, in which you can hear a snare sound while hes doing the ride "fill" :)

    Switching hands during the blasts every few bars is very smart at those speeds. Gives each hand time to recover from the hard work.
