Quick Correction: Shifter Forks on updated MT82 are aluminum and new Coyote has some issues with the BBQ Ticking sound and sleeves moved away from steel to plasma causing concern.
savagegeese wow you are so right I was screaming oh true that statement is about how ford makes u doubt if the car has been hit before ... I bought my gt350 with 800 miles And my rear bumper gaps hood gaps door gaps are all off .. ford quality control is shit
unfortunately the clutch system is STILL an issue in that it doesn't fully release at high rpm, so you basically end up forcing the car into a gear without clutching and no shift forks can handle that force.
Hey man, own a 2016 GT performance pack. I think your review was very fair. I had a few comments about the car being a driver's car. 1. Lets step back 15 years ago, what would a car with 435hp, NA V8, 6 speed manual with 19" wheels, irs etc. A car like that would most likely be a BMW M5 or M3. how much would that cost you? And what would that car be like to own? Now compare that to the s550. What ford has done is taken something really high performance and some how made it both accessible and reliable and realitively cheap to maintain. Theyve taken all the great things from Europe and left out alot of the bad. 2. Yes you are right its not a "drivers" car, yes ford could have done aluminium suspension bits, but as an owner I really REALLY appreciate that they didn't. My car is 3 years old has hit several curves, potholes, jumped trainlines, yet i can totally hit a race track with it right noww or go on a 16 hour road trip... Everything still feels as good as new. With a BMW you have to replace the entire suspension once per year... So yes if i have to sacrifice some driving feel to get that i really really don't mind that trade off... 3. The aftermarket support for these cars is insane, you CAN make them a 7 sec drag machine. A road racing beast, a corner carved, a reliable daily, a show car anything you want... Budget isnt even as much of a factor because of the availabilty of used performance parts. And the fact that Ford Performance makes pretty much every performance part out there the aftermarket has to out perform them in cost and quality to compete and that's just a win for the consumers. So i agree they arent perfect but perfection is relative and overrated. For what they are they are very good as you said in your conclusion.
@@pballer2005 a big part of the problem is people keep changing the clutch assist spring... Ford specifically installed that heavy spring to solve the ossue that came up on the early s197 of the clutch pedal not returning at high rpm shifts. The flaw with the high rpm lockout is misdiagnosed as a clutch or transmission issue... In reality it's largely a combination of several issues, that Ford's learning how to solve. The hydraulic throw out bearing for example is one part of the problem. at high RPMS the clutch is acting like a giant vacuum cleaner, due to the small size of the bell housing. Which ford needed for packaging. And pulling on the throw out bearing. When you press the clutch you arent generating enough pressure to fully disengage the clutch. I'm not sure if a redesigned bell housing to vent some of that pressure would help solve that issue. Or going back to a traditional fork and throw out bearing... I think the stock clutch is actually a great clutch it's the supporting hard ware that still needs a few years of r&d to refine...
@@pballer2005 and when u stack up these cars to a porsche Ferrari, BMW etc, I'll take lockout any day of the week over the bullshit those cars come with... Like replacing clutches every 20k miles, replacing trannies every 40k... Full suspension and brake replacement every 12k miles. New battery every year...
I’m definitely a “fanboy” (see profile pic). But I feel like you guys are 90-95% spot on. For me, it’s my daily driver, road trip car, occasional track car etc etc. There are not many cars who can do all of those things while doing them as well as the S550... and it puts a smile on my face every day. Mustang fans are used to “forgiving” Ford for the odd quality issue or panel gap - considering how much they improve the car with each generation. As far as the Bullitt vs GT - if you’re getting a loaded PP1 GT, spend the extra 5-800 for the Bullitt because it gives you some cool aesthetic details and 20 more hp. ...if not, go with the absolute base model GT, save 10-15k and modify it to your liking. Side note, GT350 is great if you’re going to track the car... if not, go with a loaded GT or Bullitt, they’re more comfortable, have more tech and they’re actually faster in the lower RPM range where most of us do our daily driving. End rant.
mustangthrall - Yes! That’s exactly how I feel. I own a Bullitt and made the same decision based on these points. Looks, power, comfort and cost! Best deal in my opinion. Pushing the start button every day is pure excitement! Love this car. Cool understated car. The BEST Mustang EVER. Of course it’s all subjective and like art it’s all in the eye of the beholder. Some see people see gaps others just see that dark highland green and dark black leather interior with the white Q ball shifter.
I totally agree. I got the Bullitt here in Germany and it‘s amazing. Great value for the money and the engine is so much fun. The gears are definitely to long and the export models come with the the 3.55 transmission. Maybe I’ll have this changed. But I love the Bullitt and looking forward to start the engine again.
Michael Eckhardt - purchased mine 6 months ago and it’s a blast. No issues for me. No gaps or problems as described here. It’s no Porsche but it’s more comfy and better on long trips. Handling is ok for this type of car. Need to get a used Miata for more handling fun as a second weekend car. As a daily, it’s better then most. Car Perfection is totally IMPOSSIBLE!
As a detailer for Ford, I can assure you the quality of the paint on the bullit is enough to justify the cost. It is leaps and bounds ahead of every other mustang in terms of paint. If you don’t like the colour that’s one thing but the actually quality in terms of finish is far superior. All ford paint kinda sucks but the depth of this Bullit paint is incredible.
Is the Japanese the only people to build a quality and reliable car?.. that car would not get by their quality control. It is a fucking joke on Fords behalf
@@shane6115 Probably. I dunno though. For me, the reliable Honda mystique went out the window with their 02-06 Accord V6 transmission. I guess it's down to Toyota unless they got some defect I'm unaware of, not being a follower. IMHO it all keeps going downhill as the complexity increases. An old truck or car with nothing to fail is dead nuts reliable no matter the brand. Everything new is kind of a crapshoot. Eg I bought a 1986 diesel pickup off my sister that she let sit for 2+ years. All it needed was a good battery and fresh fuel to start and drive like it was never parked.
@@shane6115 The paint on my 2008 Lexus ISF is noticeably better than any other car I have had. Also much better than my parents Mercedes C class. Lexus do great paint jobs.
Wrong. Jack has enough money to make is OWN UA-cam video. MOVE ON in life. We DON’T NEED more humans posing. When you get old, you’ll be full of REGRETS. Regrets that they even made these vids! Regrets that you even listen to these NUTTY people.
As an owner of a 2019 PP1 car, I'd say you'd have enjoyed this sort of car more. To those considering a new Mustang, you must have the correct expectations, or you'll be disappointed. These are Grand Touring cars, hence the GT badge. This is the car to drive from NY to LA with space, grace and pace. It's meant for two people and their luggage to cruise the freeway at speed, in quiet, comfort, with stability and a planted to the road feel. The interior is great, with great outward visibility, a huge trunk, a decent SYNC3 system that works pretty well. You MUST get either the PP1 or PP2 packages, and the Magneride. Also get the Active Exhaust, it's worth the money. It's not a car for the drag-strip, it's not a car for a road-course, it's for the street, for day-to-day driving, at speed and in comfort.
glock22357 - I agree 100%. It is a street car which is a blast to drive. It’s awesome sounding and fast. Handles great with Magneride! Overall it’s not like the GT350 which is much better on the track or a GT500 drag strip car. I love driving mine around town and it’s very comfortable on trips. Best fun to drive street car from Ford!
My brother has the Continental GT, and I know it sounds insane, but they are competition with each other. The end result is NOT the same, but no other high-end manufacturer makes a GT car that is quite as enjoyable or as reliable as this Mustang. Yes, swallow your comments for a minute, if you look at the Aston Vantage, the Ferrari Roma, the Lamborghini Huracan, the Jaguar F-Type…this Mustang will go 200,000 without pulling the engine, and none of those cars would even come close. You WILL be without your car for a month every year or two, and every 10,000 miles on the clock means MASSIVE depreciation and increased maintenance. Considering the alternatives, the Continental GT and the higher trim S550 Mustang are your best bets. Buy the Mustang in it’s most premium interior and the PP1, and pay a good body shop $10,000 to refine the fit and finish.
As a boomer and a motorhead since childhood, I remember Steve McQueen well -- he was my favorite actor and a pro-level racer of cars and dirt bikes. I saw the movie Bullitt when it first came out and have seen it at least a dozen times since, as well as watching the car chase at least 40 times. I loved McQueen's Highland Green 390 Mustang GT as portrayed in the movie. To their credit, Ford exercised restraint and good taste in their design of the limited-edition Bullitt model. I think it is the most beautiful current-generation Mustang. While its price premium above a well-optioned GT cannot be justified mechanically, to guys like me whose formative years were influenced by the movie, the magic of owning one of these would be worth the extra dollars. And even to many younger motorheads, this car has a gut-level appeal. It is simultaneously beautiful and bad-ass and the competition has nothing to match it, image-wise. Compared with a sophisticated European driver's car like an Alfa Giulia, this Mustang is a sledgehammer. There is nothing subtle about it: the steering has no feel, the transmission is balky, the chassis does not communicate which end of the car is working. This is an American sports car and its driver has to show it who's boss. Finesse is not asked for or rewarded by this car, but if you are man enough, and skilled enough, you can make it fly. Its high-revving V8 is glorious in both its performance and its sound. In a very American way, the Bullitt IS a driver's car. Were I shopping for a pony car, I would probably buy this over the GT350, whose additional power and complexity I would not miss.
This is the kind of content that makes the channel so good. He does a proper review, the good, the bad of any car. It's not the usual content of fan or hatters saying that something is good or great just from their feelings.
aesthetics i guess are in the eye of the beholder..cruising in my explorer one night about 70 mph in center lane a black late model gt appeared put of nowhere and slipped passed on left..was black but i could see every curve on it as it slid by slient and awesome..never forget that moment.
This is the best pros/cons review of the Mustang that I've ever seen! Really enjoyed the two contrasting opinions. Now I totally want (and simultaneously don't want) to get one.
Yesterday i saw a Mustang Bullitt on a parking lot. I took some photos, than the owner came. He was super nice and enthused qite a bit! I love this car!
There is a Mustang for everyone. My Mustang is my daily driver and I have many smiles per miles. I don't have the digital instrument cluster and I'm fine with not having it.
I prefer the analogue gauge cluster. I just think it looks better. Manufacturers just use screens on all cars these days because it's cheaper and you can put the same screen in many models, but a bespoke analogue gauge cluster can be so much better. Funny how super high end brands like Bentley still use mostly analogue gauges.
I have a Aussie Ford Falcon G6E-Turbo I've had for many years now - unfortunately they stopped making them a couple of years ago. I'd probably buy a Mustang for my next car if I didn't have kids to cart around. Unfortunately Ford don't really make anything for the driving enthusiast with only room for 1 car and kids anymore - the I'd consider the Focus RS except it's now very out of date - the new ST is nice but I'm just not interested in FWD. Unfortunately I'll probably end up getting a Kia.
@@weedmastersr Totally agree - in 10 years that digital gauge will be starting to look old fashioned. Every car I've ever owned with a digital cluster has ended up looking very dated by the time I've sold the car.
They still fall into THE WRONG HANDS. Both these guys shouldn’t be anywhere near this model car. Putting a price on them makes sure idiots get them and they thrash them to death. These 2 are SO desperate to be photographed next to the trendy fashion item. Gossiping girls.
I know! I wish Ford had use this color of green on their regular line-up of Mustangs. The debagging made the car more incognito too. I do agree though that based on the price and how wonderful the Shelby GT350s are, are you getting the most for your hire earned money with this particular model? My guess is that they felt it was better to stick with the main GT line-up or upgrade to a Shelby GT350.
Mustang fanboi and Bullitt owner. Had a 16 PP GT before the Bullitt. Good review due to the give and take between 2 reviewers. My only beef would be the comment about "staying away from the Bullitt and just getting a similar equipped GT and save 7k". The difference between a identically equipped GT and a Bullitt is about 500 bucks. Which is also the upcharge Ford does on its metallic paints like this and Ruby Red. So basically you get a Bullitt if you like the rarity of the dark green, the connection to the movie, or prefer the Debadged and lower key look compared to the spoilered and striped alternatives. I like all 3, and its my daily driver.
anon mouse - it a truly great car. Not perfect but NO CAR IS. The Porsche or GT 350 is great too but costs a lot more money. For the money, I’ll overlook the alleged gaps and just enjoy the exhaust, comfort and overall style. (And great value)
I'm not a big fan of american cars, but the way you review certains models i start drooling like a dog. And i watch a lot of reviewers but you my friend are real on top of the top
He's a class act, which is why I watched this review despite the fact buying this car in my country doesn't make much sense to me. Respect to Ford for bringing the Mustang to the UK market though; I enjoy seeing and hearing them on the road.
I own a 2018 Mustang GT manual and I've remedied those problems by installing a beefier short shifter assembly, IRS bushing braces and bushings, and thicker front and rear sway bars to combat the floatiness and unresponsive steering. Its a driving dream now.
Why do you people give such a cheap shit company a pass to fuck you over on quality? They don't give a shit about you, they're still the same cheap ass company behind the exploding Pintos and the blow out Firestone tires. $$$ > lives for Ford. Fuck them...
Cool stuff Jeff! Did all of these in mine except the sway bars, should think about doing that next. Granted mine's a 1998 GT, no electronic assists. I instead feel everything in that car, like the unassisted cable clutch, and occasional loneliness. Love the car tho, especially after swapping auto to manual in February.
@@Shintsu2 ass opposed to who? Most of these companies and businesses at the of the day care more about the bottom line than you bud lol. I know you have an Asian fettish, but we all know that Toyota and Mazda the only Japanese manufacturers worth a damn, so unless you're comparing that other garbage made by Honda and Nissan and etc, then it's really all the same.
First, you guys are the best. Very well done. I had a 2017GT350 with Recaro Seats. After reading the comments on GT350 engine failures and discussing with my dealer, I decided to move on to a Bullitt. Even though I had the extended warranty. I got allocated a GT500, but decided to pass on it. I am coming from 911 and Turbo's. I loved the GT350, my only complaint was comfort on long drives, due to the Recaro seats. I also had the 2016 Mustang GT 50th Anniversary edition, which was most comfortable car ever. I had a Borla Exhaust, Barton Shifter. The stock leather seats in the Bullitt are great. All these cars are great. Yes, the GT350 was a hard edged sports car, great for the track. Bullitt was $50K ish, a lot of car for 50K, plus grew up on the movie Bullitt!
I agree with you. For me green is a lucky color and it looks good on this car plus all the debadging. It's look like a daily winner for me as soon as I get my F150 Platinum paid off. Rumble Rumble I'll will go tumbling down the road. LOL.
Yep! Not perfect but damn good! Biggest bang for the buck out there in performance for the dollar. That’s why there are so many Mustangs! More sold then any other sports car. You can get better build quality and better performance if you spend more but that depends on your budget or wallet! I own a Bullitt and absolutely LOVE IT. Huge fun factor. Great sound and great power. Comfortable and exciting to drive. Great feel. Great looking car. Beats the Eurocars by thousands of dollars. But you’re right there plastic and maybe some gaps. I don’t care at all! I couldn’t see spending $15k more for a Cayman that is less comfortable and will be very expensive to live with.
What!? You mean these things fell into THE WRONG HANDS again!? When is ford going to FIND ME and give ME the car? Maybe they should put a requirement on buying the cars that you’ve got to own more than 1 dirtbike before you’re allowed to buy the BULLITT car. It also says that YOURE ALREADY A FAMOUS PERSON and you don’t want a famous imaginary to your car. You don’t want to show off a car on UA-cam, for example. If you’re even considering buying a GT 350, you shouldn’t be ANYWHERE NEAR a BULLITT product. If you have a BULLITT car then a GT 350 DOESN’T exist.
The family tree that created a BULLITT car left GT 350 back in the 1960’s. By now you should have a whole garage full of BULLITT products going way back to the 1960’s.
Having come from an E90, driven friends’ M2s and 718s, the mustang is a special blend of cost, speed, handling and most importantly fun. Not sure if it’s a Bullitt issue, but my PP1 mustang turns in quickly, sharply and accurately (though with typical E steering numbness, still better than the M2) and has the typical FR balance. The Camaro is definitely a better handling car, but it’s more a polish thing than a potential thing, and the difference isn’t nearly enough to offset its obvious foibles as a daily driver. For the $38k OTD I paid for my PP1 GT (with mechanical gauges), hard to beat. The biggest praise: when I drove my buddy’s 718, I wasn’t blown away by its handling. Sure, it was better, but the mustang was close enough for half the cost that I’m fine with it.
Thanks for sharing. Can you share more about your impressions when compared to the E90? Compared to some of the BMW traits (refinement, tightness, balance etc)
@@twiincentral8780 Suspension is better overall for grip. Steering isn’t E90 communicative, but eagerness to turn in and front end grip more than makes up for it. Tightness is similar. Suspension is definitely former Interior quality is Ford all the way. It’s fine, but no BMW. Not much worse than an M2 or FXX. V8 is smooth as butter. Shift feel is better than even the M2, but the transmission clunks a little.
I bought a 19 Bullitt and I agree with everything in this video - both the good and the bad. Nailed it. I had my heart set on the PP2 but during the test drive it was clear that the car (any non GT 350 mustang) was just too big and heavy with almost no steering feel which prevented it from being the most engaging drivers car. Knowing this and not wanting to shell out $$ for the 350 I found the Bullitt to be a great GT car compromise that looks more unique than a regular GT plus adds a bit more power and has a huge "fun" factor. I found one relatively cheap and it's been great so far. I did keep my 13 Focus ST for fun on the really twisty stuff instead of trading it in though :)
slunasaurusrex i agree video was spot on about everything 👌 in the end all the quality issues panel gaps trunk lid gaps and deformities , door gaps and window trim misalignments, the price, and .. crap I’ll stop.. later.. the engine knocking like a diesel was the final straw and I got rid of it 😥
@@5abivt I haven't had knocking so fingers crossed on that one. Was yours a 19? I was hoping the second year might have resolved the infamous tick. The interior and exterior fit and panel gaps is definitely atrocious. My 2013 Focus was built better. That being said so far the drivetrain on the car feels very solid so hopefully it holds up.
slunasaurusrex yes mine was a 19. I hoped like you a later number and model year resolved it. I passed on 5 other bullits with lower production numbers. I tried to do everything I could to prevent it. I changed the oil when I got home from the dealership at 25 miles. Then at 150, 300 and 500. To me $80 per oil change is nothing in light of the cost of the car and the money I was about to spend to mod it (magnaride delete, coil overs, full exhaust, lowering, 3pc forged wheels etc etc). But it wasn’t enough. I hope yours doesn’t get it. It’s a fun car. My son cried lol because he loved my modified 15 GT I had and liked the bullitt. I do miss the rumble. I ended up trading for a used 16 BMW M4. Completely different car and I wouldn’t even compare them. But my kids are bigger now and they really make use of the extra room plus I’ve always been a fan of M cars having had an 03 M3 for 4 years several years back. I still have my 2 corvettes so I’ll never be losing the V8 rumble 😉. One is a 620 hp 8500 rpm solid roller stroker and the other the lotus dohc V8 in the zr-1
slunasaurusrex - I own a Bullitt too. Love it! Looked at Porsche Cayman and GT 350. Didn’t want to spend another $15-20k. The Bullitt is a compromise in handling and refinement BUT it’s a great looking Mustang and to me sounds way better then the most expensive Porsche or M car! It’s also reliable and has a 5 star safety rating. The Porsche isn’t even rated for safety!
i've got a 19' GT with the 10 speed put 21k kilometers on it (13k miles) and its an awesome car to just drive every day and thrash down the coast, cheers for a brilliant review really gave me a great understanding of some of the more intricate details of the car
I bought my 2019 PP1 because of this review. It's the greatest value car for the money I ever owned. Mine has the 401 package with all the comfort one can wish for.
A little inside info on why the brakes are so good on the track. Alot of cars experience fade at the track because the rotor actually flexes on corners pushing the pads away, not due to overheating. The mustang has been programmed to activate the booster moving the pads back into position when it senses g-force above a certain threshold.
My favorite thing you said..." Feels like all 4 tires are steering in 4 different directions....during acceleration"....that was a polite accurate way to explain that the car is "fun", yet does not qualify as a "drivers car". or you said its like whip cream or marshmellows is at all 4 corners...So glad you will be Honest in your reviews.....I love how the special guest guy drove it like he stole it. The shifter needs that Blowfish bracket and I bet that will fix the 2nd gear shifts....Too many people say the gen 3 coyote can blow up, including GT350s. and I was glad the other guy talked about replacing wheel bearings over and over. He was also super honest. 👍
After buying a new '19 gt premium 10-speed and 18k miles later, I really love the car. The panel gaps are pretty bad when you start looking at them, but no trans issues or bbq tick. I've given the car many of hot suppers and even put it into limp mode which the dealer took care of very quickly. As a daily driver, it performed better than expected in the rain and snow. The aftermarket parts selection makes it easy to get carried away. Overall, the performance and the low cost of maintenance makes this car a good deal.
@@Bobbybeb I used 5w20 in my 2020 GT and I had the engine tick after 2nd oil change at 8k miles. Will be switching to 5w30 Pennzoil cause some people said it made their tick go away.
This is one of the best and most honest car reviews I’ve ever seen. I’ve always wanted a newer Coyote Mustang, and the Bullitt seemed like a classic style from an era and movie that was so cool, and UNDERSTATED. I’ve been interested and looked at several GT350’s, and they all have a rear wing that looks ridiculous and unnecessary, and scream “look at me, I’m in a special mustang”. I get the history, and the 65 GT that Jay Leno has is insane, but what happened to having a crazy fast muscle car that was a “sleeper”? My only beef with Ford is why they charge the $7k premium for much of what amounts to styling and not actual performance upgrades on the Bullitt. I’m not sure if this trim level is a big seller, but in my area there are a few of these at most Ford Dealers and many of them are still 2019’s that the shipping stickers are so old they’re faded, just discount the dam things and make me a deal, in this crazy economy and pandemic we’re in they should be giving them away, or at least making deals to move them. The packages on these cars confuse me, Id like to have a fully loaded GT with all the suspension and performance upgrades that the Bullitt has, and the little extra horsepower, is there such a package or trim level on the 5.0 GT?? If so, what is it? Any responses would be appreciated, I’m trying to get a 2019 on a deal, and since when has Ford gotten so unwilling to make deals on their cars and trucks? It almost turns me off completely to the brand, and I used to be a Ford guy for many years, now it almost feels like they think their to good for the working man, and the dealer experience in my area sucks. Sorry for the negative comments about Ford, I’ve wanted a Mustang for a long time, and frankly as much as I want one, and want to support the American economy right now, I’m not going to overpay for what amounts to a supped up rental car as they put it. For you Mustang die-hards, I’m not insulting the car, I’ve never wanted a particular engine more then the newest 5.0 Coyote, with the right exhaust it’s the best sounding and revving engine I’ve ever heard, it’s no joke...
I have a 2015 GT convertible auto. The transmission paddles shifts are fast, zero lag, and it does rev match. I do have an oil temp gauge which I use. Good review. You hit the highs and the lows but to me, the best thing about a Mustang GT is I can park it somewhere and it's still there when I get back. It's not that special and that's cool for everyday use but on the back roads, it's a real blast. It can get you into serious trouble real quick too.
Bought a Bullitt Wednesday. Ive owned 2 Rx-8s, M235i, and a M3. The Bullitt is the most visceral and fun feeling car out of the bunch. The 8's were the easiest to go fast in, and the E46 M3 was the best over all driver. But, I would take the Bullitt over all of them. Maybe my tune changes in a year.
I bought a 19 Mustang GT in Orange Fury (best color IMO), 6mt and performance pack 1 in April. Everything you've said is spot on. Including the quality issues, including the transmission issues. But through all of that, you have a giant grin on your face, whether you drive it hard or drive it normally. I love it.
For so many years I admired the legacy of the Mustang, but didn’t buy one because it just couldn’t give me the “FRS” experience on a two lane California road. I finally bought a 2017 GT/manual with the performance pack and learned how to deal with the handling traits of the car. Love the brakes, motor, got a “good” gearbox and appreciate that it’s a GT and not light and nimble canyon carver. Cars and Coffee here I come....
a good suspension setup will make it at least as much fun as an 86 on a backroad/mountains/canyon. I had a BRZ and my 17 GT PP handles at least as well. I went with steeda shocks/springs, GT350R sway bars and mounting brackets/bushings, and steeda's starter "stop the hop" kit to lock down the rear end. it drives and handles awesome.
@@Chad11491 he's saying you're gonna have more fun with the fr-s at legal speeds. Part of that is the roll and lack of super sticky rubber. Big power is great in its own way
I really feel like that's just a small car trait. Same with my Integra, I love going 40-55 around a corner and feeling like the car behind me wont keep up and that I can whip it back and forth. It's absolutely slow as dirt but when doing things like that, where it has so much nimbleness and control and you FEEL the drive, it's amazing. I feel none of that in my Mustang. It feels like a big cruiser that really does feels like a mid point between a challenger and SS camaro. It feels like a numb punch and go in comparison but I still love it for what it is.
I don't think that's actually typical anymore with the newer independent rear suspensions they implemented in 2015. That was more the older solid rear axles prior to '15.
@@thracian2072 I fell likes it's also the traction control. I had a 2014 and it was either stepping in and trying to fully take over or not doing anything at all. The only time I felt the solid rear axle was a hindrance was on turn in while hitting a pothole. That will make your heart jump haha.
I really enjoyed the format of this video, with you having someone like Jack step in: a man who has lots of track and Racing experience. He was very honest about all aspects of this platform. Keep up the good work. 🍻 (A Longtime Mustang lover)
Bring back turbowski. I miss your sarcastic interactions. Jack is great also, his opinion often differs at some point of "the Geese" but at the end they land on the middle. Love every video and as always cameos at the end crack me up all the time. ONE QUESTION: When is the next episode of your podcast coming? I recently drove my 2017 GT from Tontitown, AR to Victor, CO. Such a great GT car even in base form. The entire trip out I averaged 28-30mpg at 80mph. Returning trip milage was even better. It's roomy enough to pack a full weeks worth of camping gear. And it isn't precious so much that you will be afraid to get it dirty. Once out at Victor I drove my GT down Gold Camp Road all the way into Colorado Springs...60-ish miles of washboard dirt roads. My Mustang GT has been the best car I've owned.
Nice real world assessment for us outdoor people. My 370z has seen some gravel roads on camping trips and does quite well on stock suspension with an upgraded front swaybar. It's no rally car however!
Thank you Mr Goose for another high quality review! These are the only videos I actually watch in 1080p! Do you know where the video for your last livesteam went? I can't find it anymore.
21:18 AND 21:29 So true. I had the same experience with my 2015 GT. It was almost scary to drive at WOT and probably the reason you see a lot of them wreck. The main reason is all the rubber bushings in the rear suspension. . Good thing is there's about $500 in mods to fix that feeling.
This Mustang has received universal love from almost all the reviewers and critics. Car and Driver especially loves their Bullitt which they’ve tested for 40,000 miles. One channel said it’s the best overall Mustang after comparing all of models.(including the Shelbys). After owning mine for more then year I agree with these comments. It’s no Porsche in the handling department, but for great value and fun it’s great. Ford is now offering the Tremec manual transmission as another added upgrade to the new Bullitt replacement ....the Mach1. You can focus on the negatives like imperfect gaps and some plastic but focus on the positives and drive one. It compares favorably in fun and looks to the European versions like BMW and Porsche. The Mustang is really a great sports car and daily driver and I like the cost savings for after warranty repairs and maintenance as an added benefit!
Drove a new 2020 the other day and can say the manual transmission was fantastic. Do agree the steering is not as connected as I would like. Still was loads of fun to drive.
Ive owned 5 mustangs in my time driving. It wasn’t my first sports car, that crown is to a 88 c4 vette. I will say this though everything you guys said about the Mustang in this video and your GT350 video is absolutely right. Its definitely a capable platform in the right hands, chevy and dodge cant produce a car that has that much enjoyment for the price. However the quality of the interior and the other issues stated in these videos are absolutely true. Ford could improve and should but then your talking about a 50 grand base gt at that point. Love the videos guys! Keep up the good work!
Hey, I'm a bit of a newbie Ford fanboy here, so this may seem like a ridiculous question, but could you explain your comment around 2:35 ish? You said "and this is from a company that has bailed out of the car market in the U.S. This is one of their last cars." Is the Bullitt really going to be one of Ford's last manufactured cars? I thought Ford was keeping the Mustang line-up. Are they not? Any info is appreciated. Much thanks, and great video!
Great vid. Should be mandatory viewing for anyone still questioning why you’d want to spend Porsche money when you can have the same 0-60 with a Mustang.
Lol I got an ad for red dead 2 and It flashed the rated M nudity, guts, gore, blood, etc, etc etc. I’m thinking holy shit this is gonna be an amazing savage geese today!
I think you nailed it with the good is good, and the bad is bad. The highs of the S550 are very high, but then the lows are straight up 1990s Kia. Every positive that makes you love the car has a corresponding negative that makes you despise it. The Coyote is a stellar engine that's reliable, fun to wring out and efficient, but the MT82 trans is trash and I hated using it. I've never used a trans like that before where every drive it would behave differently. Sometimes it was fine, other times it would grind and crunch into gear at completely random times and conditions. Another positive, the interior is quiet, road noise is minimum and overall it feels solid. However, because it's so quiet, you can hear all of the creaking and rattling from all over the car. My dash rattled at 1500 miles onward. Then the back window area rattled. Then something in my passenger door rattled. Then the A pillar on the drivers side rattled anytime the car was turned on. And when you hit a bump all of them would sing at the same time. Finally, this car makes an excellent grand tourer. I drove mine halfway across the US and it was comfortable and efficient with plenty of room to bring all my things. I would not have wanted to do that in a Miata or FRS86BRZ.
I've driven a '68 390 GT and man, is it a pooch. Cheaply and shoddily built, the steering dead and slow, the four-speed like out of a pickup truck, the power decent but not exceptional for that era. Before the shoot the producers (including McQueen) bought some track time at Sears Point and discovered right away there was no way the Mustang could stay ahead of the 440 Charger RT. They had to modify the Mustang's power plant and beef up its suspension to keep it from falling apart during the jumps in the chase scene. And on the Charger, they installed the skinniest, cheapest wheels and tires they could find to keep it off the Mustang's ass when driven hard.
I have a 2018 coyote. 45000 miles. It has the piston slap noise, bad oil consumption, and when it is in colder weather with a cold engine the cam phasers clatter when I decelerate at lower speeds. All in all I still love mine. When the engine goes I'll pull it out and fix it the right way by putting better parts in it or convert it over to a LS engine. Those things are a dime of dozen. LOL
With all of the styling excess in sporty cars these days, I absolutely love the more subdued looks of this car. That green paint is beautiful. Also really like the sound of that NA V8.
One thing you missed is the thin crap paint ford uses. My 2017 mustang gt is a chip magnet. The paint is so thin it’s insane. Mine only has 4500 miles on it and it looks like I’ve had it for 30 years. Thank goodness for touch up paint. Now I can play connect the dots. Cheers boys your show rocks.
I just picked up a '19 Black Bullitt for 15k under MSRP. It has 7miles on it and sat in the showroom floor since new. Not even test driven once. Should I feel bad after watching this?....I dont
Fisher Ohvf-men - Feel good because you’ve got a really great car! This video is way too negative and overly picky! He’s a perfectionist I guess and wants a high end car like a Porsche or BNW. But he probably wants a low price too! You’ve got a lot of bang for the buck in my opinion plus it’s got a warranty. A used Porsche or BMW is nice to look at and drive but have reliability issues and when they break are VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX WITHOUT WARRANTY! Mustangs look great and drive great are very comfortable and practical and affordable, compared to high end premium cars.
Sam Sanchez - Yep! They’re just about the Best Buy in the auto market in terms of what you get. I love my Bullitt. I haven’t run into any haters at all. People love this car and 99% of auto reviews can’t stop saying how good it is. No car is perfect!
@@rembo183 I have since murdered mine out. Plan resonator delete and x pipe, blowfish racing shifter box install together. I dont care for the current shifter setup at all
Your review was wonderful. You convinced me I wasn't stupid in buying this beast. This car is just different from what I am used to. I have owned this 2019 GT 6 speed manual for only 5 weeks and only drive it after work or weekends. I still am not good at shifting. I think the issue is Im not used to a high revving engine. Previous Mopar 340 small blocks had different power band. Anyway this car is fun and I find it challenging to drive. I want to conquer it. I hope to drag strip it this coming summer to find out what it can do (and to avoid the temptation to speed on local highways). I wont get arrested or ticketed at the drag strip. I sub'ed, GREAT review!
@@tcroft2165 I hear ya brother. But respect what Ford is doing. We have no choice now. They are eliminating "all" performances cars except the Mustang.
Joel Remland ...and as far as gaps go, mine is much better than that press car.
Michael Eckhardt eek 3:55? That’s perfect if you’re going to boost it. ...if not, swap to 4:10 - I think that would wake it up nicely.
I have a lot of other mustang owners comment on the paint on my Bullitt. It looks really good in the sunshine!
They still need to pay closer attention when bolting the panels on though.

Not disappointed with my BULLITT, but I wish Molly would drive me around in it
My brother has the Continental GT, and I know it sounds insane, but they are competition with each other.

*Matt Maran has left the chat*
Ha! I like it!
Matt must have had a personal crisis the day he reviewed the Bullitt. First time I ever saw him get 50% negative thumbs down.
That is why we are into these cars. MEMORIES, it doesn't matter what flavor or brand you perfer. It's all about the MEMORIES.
Lynda Hammel simplicity is good tho. I have a focus st with no info-tainment, couldnt be happier

This such a balanced but exact review, it could win a diplomacy competition!
It’s from a madman who is unwise and not a car expert and shouldn’t be commenting.
Suspension is definitely former
Interior quality is Ford all the way. It’s fine, but no BMW. Not much worse than an M2 or FXX.
V8 is smooth as butter.
Shift feel is better than even the M2, but the transmission clunks a little.
Jack is such a huge asset to your channel. Glad to have you both reviewing cars.
I love the comment on the parking brake.
Picked up my brand new 2020 Bullitt today and it’s nothing but Smiles per mile every time you drive it.
Great video. I have a 2019 GT PP1 and it's a blast to drive everyday
the way jack presented in depth on the mustang was amazing, thank you very much
I bought a 19 Bullitt and I agree with everything in this video - both the good and the bad.
I'd get a 1LE from perform the face lift; it's trackable and fixes most of the Mustangs chassis problems.
slunasaurusrex - I own a Bullitt too.
The back and forth on this video was nice to see. Great content as always.
Which engine oil do you use in yours?
@@EricZAchille Mobil1 5w30
@@Bobbybeb I used 5w20 in my 2020 GT and I had the engine tick after 2nd oil change at 8k miles. Will be switching to 5w30 Pennzoil cause some people said it made their tick go away.
@@Bobbybeb Did you use a motorcraft filter or a mobil1?
@@EricZAchille I've used mobil1 filter and Wix xp. My engine has a slight tick to it after 57k miles.
I've owned four mustangs. What I've learned is that the transmission will adapt to the way you drive.
this the first time in a very long time I actually looked a the interior of a mustang and I must say very well laid out and looks great
Oh my god, incredible photography shoots, AMAZING 4k Video ♥️
The quality of your videos, video production and review commentaries is just exceptional. I very much appreciate this channel.
Brutally honest review of a nice Brut of a car. Nice that the V8 powered Mustangs have not been neutered. Thanks for the entertaining ride along!
I bought mine in June of 2019 and I love it! It’s my daily driver till it snows!
Good job Mr Geese! Keep driving help videos coming! It really sets you apart. I mean, your reviews are awesome too.
The BEST overview of the S550 out there bar none. Great job Mike and Jack.
Any update on your ownership of your Bullitt? I own a 2019 Bullitt
I love it.
Rajesh Ramsaroop - that right! Not perfect but damn good!
Love driving my Mustang!
*Pros:* Powerrrrr
*Cons:* becoming internet famous for that crash while leaving Cars N Coffee.

Wow! That was a very good review. Congrats!!
It sounds freaking amazing!!
I usually unlist them after a few days to keep the incentive to watch them live.
Your reviews are ridiculously good, wow. Straight forward, no bullshit. Killer work.
Looks are subjective but I personally love how the Bullitt looks!
Vayetsii - me too
21:18 AND 21:29 So true. I had the same experience with my 2015 GT. It was almost scary to drive at WOT and probably the reason you see a lot of them wreck. The main reason is all the rubber bushings in the rear suspension. . Good thing is there's about $500 in mods to fix that feeling.
I really liked that intro
this is literally my depiction of a perfect car. Beautiful color, slick, not too much useless tech going on. Just perfect
Would love to see more videos with Jack Singapore. He knows his stuff and is a great co-presenter.

Wow beyond 10,000% accurate on the trans good stuff goose
A little late for this review but it's quite objective, broad & honest which is greatly appreciated, I love this YT channel.
Outside of crash safety, a 1968 Fastback with that engine, a proper Tremec T56 variant (NOT made in China), plus that suspension=World Peace
Joel Remland that’s the truth! As long as you’re happy with the purchase don’t listen to the haters man. I love my Stangs
