    I don’t even have one of those machines but still found this to be a very informative video. I’m considering buying one ofthese machines now!!!

      That's a great question. I don't have the Enjoy machine at this time, but the style of the machine looks like it "should" work. The Atomstack rotary does come with a couple of different cables making it compatible with many machines.

    Excellent information, and very well done! I had the same problem with the roller size issue. But why Atomstack doesn't show a recommendation for the correct roller size setting , is very puzzling to me.
    Also, at the bottom of your command box, where you chose your roller model, my version of Lighburn completely lacks that window, for the choosing your model option. Any ideas or thoughts on that difference?
    Anyway, thank you sooo much for the great information!

      Thank you! I'm running the latest version of LighBurn ver 1.3.01 There is a difference between the chuck type and roller type! Setup for a chuck type is not difficult, but would be a whole separate video- which will be out in the next month.

      @@thelaserchannel1Thank you for the speedy reply! My roller unit is an Atomstac, which is Identical to the one in the video. But I will check to see if my Lightburn needs updating.

    have you used LASERGRBL with the rotary ? I have a Atomstack A5pro, and am a noob but i like the rotary idea any suggestions? by not enabling the rotary is that how LaserGrbl would work? your machine is more powerful, would is work the same on mine?

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  Рік тому

      Sorry- I have not used LaserGRBL with a rotary. In the early days I did use LaserGRBL a little but found LightBurn so much easier to use. LightBurn does offer a free 30 day demo that has all features unlocked should you decide to try LightBurn. Best wishes!

    Interesting video and a great help to getting started. Please do note your lightburn settings are misleading. 17mm diameter rollers would not rotate 360mm. In fact the correct dimension of the rollers is 16mm. This gives approximately 50mm rotation. Please add a correction to your otherwise helpful video.

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  Рік тому

      You are absolutely correct- the roller diameter should just stay at the ~17mm and the "mm per rotation" should be the adjustment made to meet the calibration. Thank you!

    just a heads up with the cold galv compound, make sure you have really good ventilation while engraving that as burned / vaporized zinc is extremely toxic and can make you sick quite easily.
    Thanks for the video!

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  Рік тому +1

      Thanks- I agree 100% the fumes from spraying, dry and really bad too! And like you said vaporized zinc is very toxic. I just filmed a video just on engraving methods and mention Cold Galv and try to discourage people from using it.

    Hi, I recently got a atomstack a10 pro I purchased some glasses as well but I don’t trust them, any recommendations on glasses for that specific machine?

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  Рік тому

      Greetings- I looked up your machine and the advertised laser wave length is 445 nm. Look for safety glasses that cover that range. A lot of green safety glasses will cover a wave length of 200-2000nm. I recommend contacting Atomstack on what they specifically recommend. Always go with safety!

    For the tempura paint on glass, make a water+paint slurry, and dip the glass in it, and you'll get a really even coat.

    We don't weld galvanized metal because the fumes are poisonous. I imagine the galvanizing paint would also be poisonous.

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  Рік тому

      Your are correct- in another video covering 8 ways to engrave glass I talk about the use of Cold Galvanizing paint- a lot of people use galvanizing paint and I do not recommend it because of the fumes while spraying, drying, and poisonous fumes while engraving.

    At 15:11 in the Rotary Setup menu, I can't figure out the (mm per rotation) and (roller diameter) figures. I don't under stand of it is referring to the item being cut or the rotary attachment itself (based on the height screw settings)

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  Рік тому +1

      HI- good question. Here's an updated easier way to calibrate the rotary tool; the "Roller Diameter" should be the diameter of the rubber covered rollers on the rotary tool. Use the "mm per rotation" to adjust your 30mm by 30mm calibration box. Adjust only the "mm per rotation" to make the 30mm by 30mm box. I just got done recording a video on just specifically calibrating a rotary tool- I'll link it when it's ready!

    I was just successful in connecting/configuring my Atomstack R1 Pro Laser Rotary Roller that included both the flat roller unit and the chuck. Nice to have TWO separate units without having to dick around swapping parts etc. like the xTool RA2 Pro. Let me tell you, these Atomstack units are built like a tank, just like the build quality of my Longer B1 30 watt laser. I'm very impressed with the heavy duty build and my first tests were spot on with linearity and repetition of motion. FYI, the two supplied cables, one "white" for the Atomstack machine and the other "black" cable for aftermarket lasers, was a good provision. The Longer B1 used the "white" cable for communication with the first use of the black cable not playing at all. The 15mm circle, box, and the words "ROTARY TEST" engraved on an EMPTY beer can, came out great with linearity within about .5mm or so. I can't b!tch about those results at all. I'm now awaiting the ingredients for my Titanium Dioxide coating method and look forward to cranking out some good "stuff".... Your mentioning about "hot swapping" the Y axis cable was beneficial as there is no homing limit switch to hit with the X axis gantry, I first disabled "home on power on", but, still was receiving the "out of bounds" error when I tried to burn. SO, I re-enabled the "home on power on" with the normal Y axis servo connected, then after homing I swapped the chuck out for the Y axis servo motor and the laser unit was none the wiser with perfect operation thereafter. For the leg risers I cut square pieces of 2x4's gluing three high. I applied 1 inch squares of the Scotch 1/25" of the sticky backed silicone sheet under the bottom 2x4 and for the cost of half a stick of a 2x4, the risers support without any wobble at all. Thank you for a great video that got me going in short order. NOW back to burning....
