those police and the state lawyer need to be going to jail.
We see this crap happen in this state almost all the time. We are a blue state..coddle criminals, sanctuary cities, no death penalty, no cash bail, criminals released before the officer can complete the paperwork. We get Texas and California criminals daily. Even illegals move on from here. No jobs and low minimum wage.
How does this not affect every other case the prosecutors touched?!?!
Every single defense attorney in New Mexico will be swarming those court houses using this as precident to demand new trials to be sure that if their clients who were convicted was legally convicted and that there were no "Let's hide this evidence from the defense" moments there.
If your last name is Trump, then absolutely not, as this would be a threat to democracy
It shouldn't even affect this case. They were from AZ, purchased 3 years after the incident, and have nothing to do with this case at all.
This was done intentionally so the case would be thrown out. The murder weapon was also damaged to a point that it was “broken” by our illustrious FBI. The same FBI that is an arm of the Democrats Party ruined a critical piece of evidence, the murder weapon, in a case in which the defendant is a huge Democrat donor and fundraiser, and an outspoken Trump hater. This is the most obvious example of FBI shenanigans since the Hunter Biden Laptop and Biden Family Cartel corruption coverup.
She was a special prosecutor. God only knows how she took the case. The prosecutor should have told the judge who should have never brought the case to trial. Local DA was probably not competent to try the case. The fact so many of the previous prosecutors left was that they didn't want to get caught up in this messed up case.
Why would live ammo be on a movie set anyway? I smell something intentional and fishy.
like tuna, sister
Someone had a purpose for bringing that live ammo to the set. Why didn’t they investigate that??
Actors clowning around. Thinking they live in the lawless New Mexico Territory late 1800's. The armoror was inexperienced and she is paying for it. Doubt Baldwin will ever see New Mexico again. He lied when Trump was elected. He promised to leave the country. Maybe if he had then all this wouldn't be necessary. Goodbye Baldwin and good riddance.
@@preebo2 The actors were playing with the prop pistols at the set location.

Not the police. The prosecution messed up
This is why crime is really bad in New Mexico. Inept prosecutors, I don't believe the jury would have convicted him anyway. Usually it is the liberal judges that let pedophiles out on probation, allow multiple DWI/DUI convicted to get probation. Hell this state is home to Deb Haaland, Biden's secretary of the interior. She has two DUI convictions. The crooked Democrats here are soft on crime. Live in Albuquerque? You have a 1 in 177 chance of being a victim of a felony. Last year the Governor made an executive order that violated the 2nd amendment. She got spanked by a federal judge. State is dead last in education. 50 percent of the population cannot read above a 6th grade level.

I think it proves that the armor was so irresponsible that not only one live bullet was on that cart, but many were. Meaning that it was easy for anyone to shoot a live bullet during both the shoot and off time?
I’m not sure but that is the way I’m understanding it and actually do believe it proves even more so how irresponsible and guilty that young lady as an Armory was?!

1) Is there life after death
2) Are we alone in the universe
3) How did live ammunition get on the set of Rust

I hope the state and the officers are held accountable.
Judges do not sanction Prosecutors. In this case the prosecutorial misconduct was done a ways back.
Didn't they have live ammo on set. That they where target practicing with for fun. ? And then the prop master didn't check the gun for live ammo.

It’s TMZ, what would you expect?
@@Mutasis_Mutandis They are in an air conditioned building. They dress this way in winter too.
I understand how prosecutorial misconduct got the charges dropped, but what's the significance of the live ammunition? Anyone?
Really none. The ammunition turned out not to be probative to the central question of Baldwin’s culpability in lying about pulling the trigger of the Colt revolver. It was similar to the nonlive ammo that PDQ Props provided to the Rust set and suggested but did not prove that the origin was Hannah Gutierrez-Reed or her father. That question is still open. This judge came down hard on the lead investigator for assigning a bogus case file number to the evidence, after rumbles from the 350,000-member film industry trade unions. Plainly New Mexico would like to remain a friendly venue for dramatic productions.
Baldwin’s lawyer argued strenuously that the existence of the rather obscure Starline brass .45 cases would ‘mess up’ the prosecutors’ case, but I don’t see how. The hearing on the motion to dismiss was a circus. Experienced lawyers have never seen anything like it.

Can't stand the guy. However, what was hidden by the prosecution was and is shameful as well as criminal.
This was on a par with the line in Naked gun. " Hay if I see five guys stabbing a guy in back I'm gonna shoot!" "Frank it was a play...it was Julius Cesar in the park"
Wow!
Any poor person would go to prison. Period. Their "sobbing" supposed to be somehow meaningful to his VICTIMS and their families? Nuts.
Sobbing because of his babies at home. They were scared to death.
I had a feeling about this because of the circumstances . He had no clue a live bullet was in that gun he didn't mean to kill anyone ......an it's happened more than once in this industry an it seems a bit harsh to charge him
It was. There are many things actors do that could kill or harm other actors if those stunts aren't designed well. Actors do these things because they have been assured by stunt coordinators and such that procedures to do things safely are in place. They are there to perform, not to handle the props or design the stunts.
The lead prosecutor and everyone who knew showed forced to resign and prosecuted for evidence tampering.
Only God knows how many times these types of shenanigans take place. Shame on these folks….
Not actors fault!!!!
Rules for thee and not me. Classic.
No, wrong take. The judge said as clearly as possible that this was a malicious prosecution of an innocent man.
So rounds from a state away, purchased 3 years after the incident, that had nothing to do with this case merit a mistrial? What?
Yeah, it makes zero sense.
Wow
the legal issue here is baldwin's recklessness, not bullets that were never at the crime scene. It was a bad decision to dismiss. A curative jury instruction would have been in order. Simple clerical mistake by investigators filing the bullets into evidence under a different case#. Would have made no difference had the jury been given the case.

Make a separate file so that the prosecution can swear in court that all evidence from the Rust investigation was made available to the defense. They're in fine company with Bragg in NY Willis in GA and Smith in FL.
Of course it was.
Anyone that thought it wouldn't be is deluded af
Ohhhh samething that happened to Trump, except merchan denied the dismissal
You shouldn't handle firearms unless you have had training..just like driving a car while drunk...the onus should be on the user not on some gun safety girl on set...It is a bad day for all gun owners now you going to have to be a specialist to own a firearm.....
I think this whole mess stinks to high heaven. Horrible accident that caused a death. A horrible tragedy. The only reason he was charged was because he is a big star someone had a hard on for. The armorer should get new trial for sure.
There was literally no way on earth that event took place without a responsible person pointing a firearm at a human they can see and then cocking the hammer.
Even his version of the events... that he never pulled the trigger, which was controverted by inspection of the gun that the hammer sear worked just fine... even if the sear broke, he still pointed it at a human and cocked it.
No one else did that.
At worst the armorer mixed up the bullets. But ever since the Crow accident, this kind of mistake has been accounted for by using camera tricks so no one EVER EVER EVER points a firearm at another human on set ever again.
Then use rubber props for holdups, or mirrors or angles to use a functional firearm to simulate pointing a loaded firearm.
Only 1 human broke those rules by his own free will and actually caused this, and then immediately blamed people he hired.

@@User5_ He can't and won't be charged again because he committed no crime. It's really that simple. The armorer who handed him the loaded gun was convicted because of their criminal negligence. That's where the case should have ended.
Too bad Alec wasn't a gun guy who gave a rats behind about firearms safety and had had at worst rudimentary training. The poor woman would be alive today. Live rounds knowingly having been on a movie set and not enough sense to check what's in the gun. WTF!!
What a lot of hogwash! The bullet was in the gun with which he pulled the trigger and shot the lovely photographer dead. What he is so non compass mentus he does not even test the gun handed to him on set.Was he drunk? It never even occurred to him to check? His set was a mess he was not paying the crew and their accommodation was sub standard and she was an agitator leading protesting members ...sure they were the best of friends and he obviously was broke. She the photographer had said she was planing an expose video on Hillary Clinton and she had evidence too and a first class reputation as a photographer.Well time will tell and justice will out eventually!Incidentally her ex was given a job by Alec Baldwyn.Well at least he had money at last.
are you okay
maybe you should lie down with your trump blowup doll and take a long nap
Actors do not fire off test rounds on set. Everything is supposed to be worked out, including the number of shots that will be fired. By the time a gun is given to an actor, everything is supposed to be in place and thoroughly checked for safety. This is why the armorer went to jail. It was their negligence that caused it, not Baldwin's.
I never thought for one second he did this! This was done nefariously by someone else! Why would he do this to himself his career and his family? It has never made sense. No one I know thought he did it.
He pulled the trigger on a firearm that was used with live rounds while they werent filming, and then denied he ever pulled the trigger on the firearm. That specific gun cannot be fired without pulling the trigger, and the hammer slipping would not make the gun fire. He is guilty of firing the gun, and negligently killing someone regardless of what the media says.
A woman is dead at his hands.
Who got paid off?
If this can happen to a celebrity imagine how many times this happens to the average Joe. I hope Alex sues.

There is no justice. If you understand how single action revolvers work, and understand gun safety, and how the rules in Hollywood chabged after Brandon Lee was shot... then listened to his interview. Add it together he's undeniably guilty. Period.
At age 8, I learned the cardinal rules of gun safety. Do not cock the gun until you are ready to shoot and NEVER point a gun at a target, unless you intend to kill. Even children learn and practice these rules. Now, Alex and Hilary (Hilaria) will go on to the reality tv project that they set in motion. Alec has the personality type of someone who is incapable of remorse. His tears were not for the loss of Helyna, they were tears of relief that he's off the hook. Sadly, a little boy is left without a mother and a husband is left without his wife. Alec takes no responsibility. Did the judge follow the letter of the law? Yes. Was justice served? I don't believe so.
Justice prevailed!!!!!
Hot take while this was very underhanded by the prosecution it shouldn't matter he's guilty.... (I know that sounds bad but this is pretty cut-and-dried. He didn't check his weapon it's a simple)
He's a professional he should know how to properly handle a firearm, blank rounds and live rounds look different, feel different and sound different. It would have taken him half a second to check the ammunition in his gun or even Glance at it realizing it was the wrong ammo. Yes the armor screwed up and the person who handed him the firearm also screwed up by not looking at it but at the end of the day the person who pulls the trigger is solely responsible for his actions.
This is preached in every single firearms training class, this is preached on every reenactment gunfight I've ever taken part of, you cannot claim negligence firearms are not toys especially when this was so avoidable just to "fudging" look at it. The shooter is responsible for checking his weapon, hell in the behind the scenes on a lot of the Keanu Reeves John wick movie sets you would often see him look at his mag twice which looks like him verifying his ammunition as he should. You can't shoot somebody without verifying that you're shooting blanks especially when it takes half a second to verify it.
It doesn't matter if anybody says if the gun is cold or not. It is your responsibility to check before you pull the trigger and you never trust anybody else, this is preached over and over and over again and it has always been this way this is not new.
