Which would be the fault of the third security team assigned to the perimeter of the venue. Local and or State cops. NOT Secret Service. The guy is a second rate comic story teller who plays into your feelings of being ignored. He belongs on TV with his own show alright, but he can’t remember lines very well.
Nah, the security provided was actually commensurate with Trump's status as a former President. Local police don't secure every nearby building that a former Prez goes.. especially if those buildings are private property.
No secret service protected him . Police were supposed to protected outer lines. They need to be paid . A bill would have been sent to trump as the organisers of the rally , may be he didn’t pay that bill, it is on him to ensure there is security. You don’t hear of the democrates not paying their bills.
At best this was an extreme level of incompetence from multiple law enforcement agencies. There is no excuse for a security failure of this magnitude. This wasn't L.A., NYC or Chicago where you have to scan for a sea of people and buildings. This is a rural area with a few buildings around the event.
He was president 4 years ago. Ex presidents get a 4 person detail. And because he is campaigning and a candidate there is more. I was shocked at how much security there was. NBC news does not know this?
Good to see that people pay attention to their surroundings and notice discrepancies at the rallies. Some smart rally attendees pay attention to detail what they notice was not normal yesterday compared to what they are used to seeing. I remember my first day doing an assignment coverage at White House, i pay attention to everything upon arriving and after having security clearance, I was still vetted through security checkpoint. As soon as I got closer to the White House, I noticed snipers and SUV. The only thing I didn’t notice was I had my own secret service that day when I went to lunch with a colleague. I could go on and on but this guy is so spot on. Always pay attention to your environment and everywhere you go. See something, say something. The se rest service failed protecting Trump. So glad they are ok.
It was a normal Security detail for Trump . The same just like every week up till now. With the exception of what the guy was talking about which is the difference between being an official candidate like he will be named this week and being a general candidate. Those are just facts. Please don't use half facts to build a theory.
Trump doesn't pay local police for security. It's not the Secret Service job to secure the area for a candidate. He just a candidate. And a candidate who doesn't pay his bills.
They know, but ignored it. Just like the laptop. Just like the "Russia! Russia!" dossier being a scam. Knowing and completely ignoring it, when it suits a certain agenda, seems to be a trend.
That’s different. While it’s salacious, it wasn’t a security threat, so there’s less reason to pull all the stops out to investigate it. Nor was there a reason to guard cubbies. Tourists visit the White House all the time. On the other hand, guarding the physical safety of a top candidate for president is a very important security goal so it’s much more shocking this happened.
