Great job - really like the space-saving tool pull-outs integrated w/the sliding fence. Suggested Mod: Instead of having your blast gate handle tucked behind the hinged drawer face, make the actual drawer face the blast gate handle. You could even engineer it so you could push the drawer face in to pull the gate open if having it stick out would get in the way.
Excellent job!!! The drawers are absolutely beautiful. Really like how you made a very functional piece of shop furniture that looks stunning. Most wouldn’t go through that effort but well worth it in my opinion!!!
I love the idea of making your bench a multi tool work station. Of all the videos I have seen for this type of build yours is the most functional for my application. Thank you for sharing it!
I really like how you incorporated the fence into the drawers for your benchtop tools Moy. Really looks like a handy place to access a variety of your tools.
Moy, that was an excellent series. You incorporated so many clever and original ideas. Fascinating and fun to watch and learn. So now I'm subscribed and looking forward to learning more from such a talented teacher and gentleman.
+Jim L I appreciate your subscription and more importantly your kind words mean more than you know. Comments like yours is what drives me to create content, thank you
You Sir, Have earned yourself a subscriber! Very well put together, practical and looks Great! Personally I am in the process of building my mitre saw station and I found your build to be the most practical for what I am trying to implement. I have a small workshop and incorporating your other bench top tools into the station is genius and saves space elsewhere in the shop. Thanks!
+masterLJpoker Thanks man! I appreciate the great comment and I'm glad you found it useful. I thought about this build alot prior to building it. The goal was to make the most use of the space, I am really happy with how it turned out. I'm glad to have you onboard
+Brian Landry Glad you like it Brian. I wrote an instructable on this build. You can find more information and measurement on this article. I hope this helps. www.instructables.com/id/Miter-Saw-Station-Build
Very nice - I was just about to try to figure out a way to lock a similar setup, except in my case, I want the miter say to have two or three positions rather than the tools on the side, so that I can extend the built-in fences and extension wings on it when appropriate. I think I'll try a system like yours with hinges that fit into either blocks or into cutouts in the shelf. Thanks for the great ideas, and great work on this project!
Looking good Moy! Can't wait to see the next build. I'm getting ready to start on my cabinets tomorrow, got to go to Lowes and get me a couple more sheets of 3/4 inch plywood. If it doesn't start to rain. I may hit you up for some help if you don't mind. mark
That's great solution and one that I have been looking for, I have a similar setup and you showed me what I needed, thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
Excellent build Moy, like the way those draws pull out for your bench top tools. Have you hooked up some dust extraction for them or is it only on the Mitre Saw? Well Done on an Excellent Build. Barry (ENG)
+Barry Roberts thanks barry I do have dust collection ports on each end. At this time I can only hook up one bench top tool on each end but I will revisit this set up. My plan is to create a dual blast gate on each end. This would allow me to have all the tools hooked up without having to mess with the hoses
Awesome build. Nice to see some original takes on the good ole miter saw. How much length do you have either side of the saw? Looks about 6'? Also I t's been a year. How are you finding it? Would you change anything? Thanks so much.
thank you, I have about 4 ft one the right side and a little over 4ft on the left.. I use it every time I'm in the shop. It has been a great project for the shop. only thing I would change is to go atleast 6 foot on the left side. I might do an addition later
very cool moy! good overview of the station i like how everything pulls out and the dust hood is a cool idea and seems to work good! and the sliding fence is a really good idea also ..great work brother! my question is how many sheets of plywood did you end up using
+Joe basementwoodworking Thanks Joe, always good to hear from you man. I might be a little off but I remember using three 3/4 sheets for the carcasses and four 1/2 sheets for the drawers.
How do you feel about the heights of your tools in the slides. It seems like it may be at an inconvenient height. I’m looking to something very similar myself. Great job!
I have had this system for a couple of years and I really like it. I haven't changed a thing. The only tool that I feel is a little high is the spindle sander but other than that its perfect. I feel like I'm not bending and straining my back with this set up.
Hey Moy, I just came across your instructable. This is an awesome build. as Im going through a similar build and I was wondering how do you like your benchtop tool drawers? I was looking to do the same with my jointer and bandsaw but I'm concerned that the tools might be too high. What has been your experience so far?
Hey Nathan, I have had this system for a couple of years and I really like it. I haven't changed a thing. The only tool that I feel is a little high is the spindle sander but other than that its perfect. I feel like I'm not bending and straining my back with this set up.
Moy, exceptional job and great video editing! was wondering how you felt about Ryobi equipment shown in the video? Most makers/builders on here have sweet equipment but it would cost an arm and a leg to outfit my basement shop with all of that stuff. Has there been any particualr tool you regret buying? Any specific ones that work unexpectedly well? Thanks!
+ultrarunner0476 thank you, I appreciate you checking it out. I totally understand about having expensive tools. Although I want to upgrade at some point, I have what I can afford at this time. As far as tools that work unexpectedly well : Harbor freight dust collector by far, Its a gem. I regret buying the harbor freight oscillating spindle sander. The darn thing is under powered and the sleeves tend to slip alot. Hindsight, I would have saved up for a rigid belt/ oscillating spindle sander for an additional 60 dollars.
Moy perez woodshop Thank you very much for your response. This project is really well thought out with small tools on top in their individual slide outs, to the bottom toe kick slides which I've never seen before.
This is a great series of videos and a great design for those with small shops. Thanks for sharing!
the locks on the slide outs, the extended blast gate and the doors on the dust hood - THIS THING IS BAD ASS!!!!!
+Nick Ferry Aprecio el comentario impresionante Amigo
No hay problema hermano en cualquier momento

I really like how you incorporated the fence into the drawers for your benchtop tools Moy. Really looks like a handy place to access a variety of your tools.
+Ted Alexander Thanks buddy. It is nice to have most of my tools readily accessible. I am really enjoying this set up
Moy perez woodshop I concur, my small electric tools are on the floor at my feet, this makes all the sense in the world.
Great job. I love the way you made the station your own by adding the tools to the sliding trays.

Great idea, love the storage on top for all the table top tools, wish you could supple some basic measurements for your miter saw station.

Only suggestion is don't use the hand to hit things. Causes carpal tunnel. Excellent build.

Are there plans for this build available?
+james teel sorry James, I don't have plans available
How deep are your cabinets? Nice job!
+Alan Pinho Thanks Alan, the cabinets are 24 inches deep but the counter top over hangs on the back side to allow for a 4inch dust collection pipe
Moy perez woodshop Thank you very much for your response. This project is really well thought out with small tools on top in their individual slide outs, to the bottom toe kick slides which I've never seen before.
