Nice video man. I've considered picking up an Engager for games when I have an early game adc. Rakan seems like a good choice for it. I like champs that scale mostly. My overall idea for draft with my champ pool has pretty much been:
Janna: if they have heavy engage and I got a semi squishy team for sustain
Zilean: If my team lack gap-closing/get high value from Zilean's E speed. Also find Zilean pretty comfortable in game against engage and enchanters.
Fiddlesticks: Comfort pick, lack of AP on team. Against Samira, Vayne, vlad, ekko, kayn (value from the Fear + Silence. Also W Drain Stealth-detection) But highly situational and mostly rotation between Janna/Zilean
I think I could have contributed more in some games if I were to pick an Engager where I got an early game adc as you mentioned about jungle gank prio. Which I dont usually consider honestly. Then again I rarely play to win lane pre 6. But I guess I got sort of a fixed mindset that Zilean/Janna will do the job needed in most games regardless. Only D4 so got improvement to do and maybe expanding to a 4th pick Engager for example Rakan would not be such a bad idea. Thanks for the content!

En esta season mi champ pool es: Renata, Lulu, Yuumi, Thresh, Taric y Senna. Para blind pick siempre es Renata/Lulu, si necesitamos un playmaker Thresh y los otros 3 los elijo según las necesidades del team. Sin embargo, siempre estoy dispuesto a cambiar el champ pool según el meta actual.

Thank you, amazing video as always! :) In drafts i mostly pick Rakan and ban Senna, but if i see free laning and a few reliable tanks in our team i pick Sona sometimes to multiply our powers in fights, also learning Taric in normals. I'm thinking about learning Renata and Bard with your great guides after a while, Renata seems really powerful and Bard must be very fun, like Rakan :3

Never thought about the idea of having an enchanter ready for in case an engager is really bad with team comp excellent video. I usually play ali or leo as my engagers and I have semi decent comfort on lulu do you think she would be an okay enough enchanter pick for when an enchanter is needed?

I was thinking about what you said about one dimensional team comps. How is this best handled?
Does the identity of certain champions on the team have to change if the team comp is one dimensional?
That is to say, do champions have to adapt their identity to fill the gaps in the team comp?
Can champions even adapt their identity?
Which supports would you say are best into a double ranged enemy bot lane with strong poke? Presuming you had an ADC that goes well with them
For the last comps, can I pick Alistar? He's an engager that has an undodgeable Knock-up and he can roam as well
Bard, Rakan, Renata, would this be a good core of champions in my pool? I also enjoy Nami as well
I agree with almost everything except karma bring a bad blind pick, im a master tier karma otp and i can confortably say she is one of if not the single best blind pick support in the game!
I read about a challenger support who liked playing Leona into Janna, because he could max E first instead of W, and with reduced cooldown on E from putting points into it, he would have engage windows where Janna's tornado was not available.
Thought this was pretty cool of an idea.
Naut Blitz Pyke just 10x better lane counters, of course you can find optimizations in counter matchups though.

What determines if a particular champion is a good support for first pick?
(I am guessing it is not as simple as "engagers = good first pick", but maybe it is)
In the example at 11:18, why do we think it's Cho bot?

Thoughts on Waterwalking rune for supports that can't use scorch or gathering storm? Like Renata with aery. It gives good stats and ms around objectives.

Hello. Thoughts on Morgana runes? From my understanding she is a counterpick to Pyke/Nautilus/Blitz in lane and to engage comps in general. So bully rune like comet makes sense to win the lane hard against these hook champs. Aery seems pretty awkward but can be often procced by w and gives extra shield to E. Guardian has been nerfed really hard. And also what do you think about her items? Should she build like a mage with zhonya and liandry or enchanter style?
I believe how you build/rune morg depends on enemy and your team comp.
You can play an enchanter sup morg by going moonstone! Your w can proc it well. I would suggest looking up Morgana on League of Graphs and see how some of the pros build and then look up youtube guides. I know luminum has done some vids on it too.
But you have to be careful when picking to go enchanter morg. Does your team have any other ap damage? Does your team need some sustain that moonstone can provide? Do the enemy have a lot of tank so liandry's would maybe be better?

I hear this term thrown around ALL THE TIME, but there is a serious lack of deep and proper explanation of what it means.
The best explanations I can find are very broad strokes about what a champion should be doing within the game.
But how in the world is such a critical topic covered, in a game like League, in only broad strokes?

Question - why do you consider the Ability Haste shard to be a "scaling" option? Ability haste reduces ability cooldowns by a greater number when you don't have a lot of it, so if anything it should be considered an early rune no?
Probably because you dont use your spells on cooldown in lane, but in most late fights you do

Could you please re explain 4th factor? I don't understand what should I pick (or not pick) if my top is a split pusher or a tank. Why I gotta stay away from picking Leona if my top is a Camille?
Because your jungler can only path to one of them, and they're both demanding of resources from your team. You wouldn't want to pick a support who needs to snowball lane, then have to play defensively the whole time since your jungler is pathing to a volatile top lane. You also wouldn't want your volatile top matchup to be left on an island and become too useless!
