Is it true that you can improve your focus by doing random actions such as briefly hitting Tab? I have seen streamers do that, but doesn't it just become a habit you mindlessly do at some point?
Pressing tab is for gaining information about enemy cs and item
@@NizWolf Yes, I know, however, he keeps it for less than a sec, sometimes taps several times, to a point that you better not be epileptic, and quite a lot
I think you are over recommending echoes helia. Personally, I use it as a more defensive option in very difficult lanes where I need more survivability, ie naut-samira, where going mandate will just make me so squishy that any hook results in death 100-0 before samira w ends. This is predicated on bone plating + unflinching; I will outscale a naut with or without revitalize, so imo, I NEED to live, at least long enough to bubble. Not getting hooked is impractical to consider imo, since I'll be flashed on at some point, and I think it's crucial to give myself the best shot at living whenever naut pulls the trigger. If I'm not under some constant threat of naut/pyke, then imperial mandate just does more damage, and the move speed it grants allows my carries to snowball harder, so I really wouldn't consider echoes of helia, and I don't see a reason to consider it before mandate. Do you think I'm missing something here? I very much appreciate the dark seal mention. If I'm wining lane, it feels like the game becomes so free off dark seal stacks, and nami is very good at winning lane :D
super video
“Games on a Smurf” is so toxic 😂
Ty for posting such helpful and good content. I've been struggling lately with climbing and I lost around 400 lp .I was master 60lp and now im d4. 🥲
I started to play a year ago to share a game with my boyfriend. My background is MMOs and solo RPGs, so LoL was a WHOLE new world for me, and I struggled a lot (still do, but a bit less). The goal was to eventually play ranked together. We started around six months ago, just a few games, and I have been playing ranked more seriously this current split. I was at first actually scared of ranked, and I still feel anxious to play, as I feel I am never and will never be good enough (though I do enjoy playing, I am not a masochist). I have come to realize that duo is not the best nor easy : 1) I lack self-confidence and self-esteem, and my duo always point out my mistakes in a very direct manner. 2) I also realized I have taken habits based on his words purely, to accomodate him, and never reflected on it until now. 3) He rarely reflects on his moves except when he obviously screwed up. 4) He easily complains about our teammates or if the enemy is clearly better and that the game is hard - which makes it hard to focus. 5) He is used to spam the games, searching for the next one right after finishing, rarely taking breaks, and asking why I want one. 6) I have rarely played solo, so I do not know how much he carries me and my mistakes (he is better than me, has more knowledge, reflexes, etc.) and which kind of player I actually am. I still want to play with him, but I am trying to establish rules around those points, and I have started to play a bit on my own. I am choosing to believe it is possible to climb with a duo (not my n°1 goal atm, though), but I truly think that it is choosing to make the game "harder", especially when you are relatively new to the game. Because, not only you have to learn theory and practice, but also how you, as an individual player, can improve despite this dynamic (separate the "we" and the "I", is your duo your "crutch" in certain areas?), and how to efficiently function together, which is not innate at all (can be I guess, but surely the exception). Just in case: please excuse my English, I am not native!
Solo q is definitely better for learning more organically. Ask him to play solo and have him review your games instead and give you insight on what he thinks is the right play at any given moment where you feel confused vs what you think is the correct play. Coaching is more effective than duoing for learning based on my experience teaching friends. It's easy for my friends to use my brain and mechanics to make plays that realistically would never work with a teammate in their skill range. If you learn to play for him and only him and enable him to carry, you will struggle to carry yourself solo. As your teammates will not be equal to him in skill. Rather than help him, emulate what he does and try and understand why he does what he's doing.
Great reflection! Duo queue has a lot of dangers towards improvement like you listed. You need to build your own competence and have the freedom to make decisions and mistakes.

My philosophy is that losing rank doesn't mean I'm losing skill. People shouldn't "play to climb" because that just leads to frustration any time there's an inter or trolls. Play to improve first and foremost. If you keep improving, you'll naturally climb over time without even thinking about it. Also, recognizing that the enemy team is trying just as hard to win as you are and sometimes they just play well and deserve to win. My last tip is don't type at or flame people who are playing bad. It doesn't matter or help you win ever. It only distracts you from playing as well as you can. I've won so many games where someone went like 0/10/0 and we didn't panic, played smart and still won. It's so common for players in low ELO to completely throw the game by giving way all their bounties.
Good points, I definitely should've talked about muting all and never surrendering actually.
This is the philosophy that I objectively know is true. But man it’s hard to keep that thought when some monkey part of my brain activates at seeing -(x) LP lol
good video thank you
Thanks for watching!
You make the best videos, i changed role to Support based solely off your videos!!!
That's awesome, thanks!
As someone who just sank further into emerald from E2 40 lp, this was a good timed video.

Great content!
Thank you for the in-depth answer!

I don't think it is a good idea to see your teammates as NPC. It promotes main character syndrome. Empathy is important in team games and it needs cultivation as every other needed skill.
I totally agree with the "stay away from reddit" part. It is very toxic and mostly people just project their own weaknesses. The worst trend is how much they underestimate utility-focused champs in low elo and declare that you can only get out of low elo with "1v9" champs. And with this they put constant pressure on those who want to play, for example, shen on top, jarvan in jungle, galio on mid, sivir on bot, or enchanters on support. The easiest thing is not to browse these pages.
I named my dog Nami
I got diamond playing OTP Soraka from Bronze IV in less than 2 years. In my experience, in silver and gold, just roaming to both heralds (I know that atm there is only 1 herald) was enough too carry games making the difference when the other support ignored hearld. I escape from silver/gold just securing heralds haha. Imagine how important roaming is in low elo. The main goal a support in low elo is having more impact in the game than the opponent support. If u can do that, you are going to climb no matter what.
Climbed from gold to diamond since finding your channel, thanks for all the advice!
i feel that about getting bored and hitting a ward and then your team is doing the game deciding fight without you
thank you for the information brother keep up the good work.
great topic to focus on. well done
love Nami.
Got to push up and deal damage! Enemy nexus isn't going to explode itself...
Great short thanks.
This is why Dota 2 is king cooldowns are long and extremely important. LoL is a button mash competition
In league, i am a macro player (sometimes, sometimes my jgl tracking is total ass) but oh boi its cuz im new, watch my macro on total war warhammer and inwas a god, but i accept it. Im not up to snuff yet, i can still see all of my bad micro plays.... i can only see my macro bad plays if i have vison... gotta watch the replay, a bit harder to pull off in game
I learned to punish cooldown quite early when I realised something incredibly important : I'm and Aurelion Sol main...and if they miss their CC and I still have my W, they're dead. Climbed quite a bit after that...reached gold.
Great vid, love your stuff Coach Cupcake ❤ I don't play that much support myself but I still love Bard. Broken By Concept sent me 😊
I would love, a new build path and runes for pyke. Alot has changed, and i only know so much, and only know when to take them sometimes
Bro... u didn't swap... guess i have to adc
I'm sorry man I had to go to the bathroom... oh gosh it's doomed
Awesome! Thanks for answering the Q's! So excited to bust out the warmogs zilean, taliyah, and zoe! You're a great teacher, see you at 20k+!
Thank you!
Thanks for the great content as always! I am a Zilean main looking to improve at the game and I find your specific champions guides to be very interesting and helpful. Any chance a guide like that on Zilean could be uploaded? Or maybe a champion featured in one of the current guides is “similar enough” to how he should be played? (I understand if you don’t want to put in too much time to make a specific guide on him as his playrate is quite low)
I do have Zilean POV and coaching VODs on the SoS website, otherwise I can't help you much unfortunately. My guides will most likely be on meta and popular champions.
@@CoachCupcake I totally understand, will check it out, thanks for the quick reply :)
Thx for answering my question.
🐐
always love hearing the stories about off-meta supports. my friends still mention "the dark age" when i was trying every champ as a support and they'd be forced to lane with a tryndamere or belveth. i've developed a conscience since then but i do miss it
6:02 Liked for being a based Tahm Kench enjoyer. Currently finding a lot of success with warmogs rush + swifties + grasp setup.
Thank you so much for your content! You helped me get from gold 1 peak for years to getting master promos. This achievement was the least of it: I also learned to handle my emotions better, adaptability, and gained confidence in my ability to improve in general. I am super grateful for your help and I wish you the best, man!
That's a huge climb, congrats on your progress in and out of game :) thank you.
You are a great content creator and, in my opinion, a great teacher. Thanks to you I could stop roaming around the map doing nothing a losing experience, I learned the fundamentals of swap from bot to mid in mid game to protect mid tower, adc and follow the jungle on invades from the center of the map like in chess. I got discipline and a solid playing style understanding what to do in every moment of the game. Ty so much and I wish you many more subscribers.
That's fantastic to hear, thanks man! Hearing that my content helps others is why I do this as that's what I want.
How do you feel about Alistar runes now in June 2024? I noticed Aftershock is a lot more popular among the Alistars on onetricks
thanks for this video , i win 10/10 games in general .. hope you up some renata actual guide or build ? plz coach
maybe my low elo dead-brain speaks for me but if enemy has pyke, nautilus or blitz and lane is unplayable for nami. engage supports just have a better options. i am a bronze 2 so my opinion doesn't count (my english is bad also)
Those hook champions absolutely give Nami the most trouble in lane. There are always adaptations and solutions we can find in this game though :)
Always look forward to your videos. Please keep up the hard work, you fill an important niche for us competitive minded support players looking for educational content.
Thanks for the supportive message mate!
